  1. Sorry, I was too late to sign up for FCA's Rate The Music for the SRHPT or DCAT as it's known around here, I enjoyed doing that for JNT06. I'm willing to help. If someone wants second opinions on some of the songs, I could act as an optomotrist & patient of sorts. "Which one's better A or B?" " B, No, I think A is better, let me go listen again"

Folks would possibly be willing to share, if you have a favorite that you would've picked if you could. There's a loooooooot of clack out there, and more to come, no doubt.

Maybe we could "buddy system" this whole thing. For example -- I'm willing to whittle down BYLM to the final 8 choices or so, and then someone else could come along and pick the final two out of those choices. And I could do the same for laughn, for example -- she could pick her top 8 of HYCA and then I go in and select the final two. (BTW, that was my second choice for a song.)

Or am I making this just all that much more difficult?

You know, it's really kind of embarrassing when you're sitting at your desk, mumbling something about Clay's crotch, when someone walks into your office....

  2. *tackles atinal and staples her to the board* Someday, my schedule is going to work out that we can do lunch again....

Actually, that's something I could use the help on, and will remember that offer. That's really what got me hung up on the JNT 2006...I could easily narrow down each city, and even then narrow it down to about 10 cities total. Then, I got stuck. So, a second set of ears for me would be fantastic.

lickiest1, I feel like we hardly knew ye. You've been a good and constant companion, as well as the source of much joy. *sniff*

But welcome back luckiest1. Or as Clay would sing -- "we tease her a lot, but we've got her on the spot, welcome back." :F_05BL17blowkiss:

    Stunningly beautiful man.

Un-freakin'-believable. That is gorgeous, and it really works in the sepia. Thanks for posting AAIT!

Didn't realize that we were having a photo fest -- is it ok to post screencaps from Orlando, since we didn't get a lot of still cameras in?

No, we do not allow screen caps here. Sorry. [/MAJOR JOKE] Of course you can post screen caps!

(And is it silly to be delighted that at 6am 3 days after the tour, there are 40 people reading here? *g*)

Nope, not silly. Kinda surreal for me, but not sily.

Weee that was fun last night!! Who would have thought a little (snerk) ol' picture would have had such a reaction.

I hope some of the people who came and lurked last night come back 'cos this really is a fun board and run by some great people (OK here endeth the suck up).

I think we should make her at least a mod for this comment. *g*

And I DO hope that those who came here last night (and are still here this morning) come back and see what we're all about.

ETA: Ooh 132 posts in 2 years...I've got to dial it back a notch!

Don't you EVER stop posting! EVER! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

If y'all continue to post THAT picture today, I'm gonna have to shut off images at work. I can just see someone coming into my office and seeing the boys -- they would either faint (from the hawtness) or fire my sorry ass.

  4. Welcome FromClayGary!!!!

For me, it's all about the joy. Life is too short to have it any other way.

    I like your style!

    And you're friends with goldarngirl -- I've met her! She's a sweetheart!

    Anyway, glad you're around!

  5. Heh.

Well, we should get it up before the Christmas tour, I think.

Well, that's what I did with the last Christmas tour -- I had my recommendation up 2 weeks before the DCAT tour, I believe.

That's why I'm only volunteering for one song. If I do any more, I'll be doing this until 2010.

I also think that maybe we should wait about a week or so to let the last clack flow in. There's still stuff appearing from the California shows at this point. And then, we need to make sure Scarlett gets her stuff in too!

  6. I think what frustrates me about speculation and discussion about the business of Clay's business is that, for some reason IMO, things turned into FACT very quickly. Maybe it wasn't really that way, but it sure seemed like it.

I do enjoy learning about the business, and talking about it with people who have done a bit of studying. As someone said, though, as long as it's still stated as opinion, I'm cool. And -- as long as I can respectfully disagree, I'm cool too. Somewhere down the line last year, that didn't happen. IMO the respect got lost. I would not disagree that I may have been a part of losing the respectful nature of a post....but I'm sure that it was because of my frustration.

Personally, I like to talk about Clay's career....but it's also not my job either. I guess it's because I know that if I talk about Clay's career, I really can't DO anything about Clay's career. I should NEVER have that kind of influence.

Finally, I do feel that I can't really take Clay out of the equation when I talk about him on a message board. To paraphrase him, "his name is on the board." I tend to treat Clay as if he was a member here, even if I know full well he's not. It's just my nature. (Doesn't mean I wouldn't tell him that he needs a haircut though -- I do that to my husband for God's sake!)

  7. Attention from Clay? all righty. Attention and recognition from other fans because of that? Nope - to me, THAT is the famewhore thing.

I've been having a hard time understanding why I feel a certain way about some fans, and a totally different way about others. This, however, makes perfect sense to me. It's a power trip WITHIN the fandom that makes me go "blech." Now, I don't read much elsewhere anymore, so I don't know how much some of these fans that Clay notices in concerts crow about it afterwards. If they do, then I'm troubled by their actions and words. If they don't...well, then I'm troubled that OTHER fans can't deal with it.

It's something I'M gonna have to deal with, I guess.

On another note, I reread suebee's M&G account again this morning, and for some reason, this paragraph stood out for me in this reading:

The two late-comers, the winners of the Ticketmaster auction, were a mother and daughter combo. The mother stated her daughter wanted to be a singer and did Clay have any advice for her. At first he said he didn't but then asked what she liked to sing and when she listed a wide list of stuff like jazz, pop, etc, he told her to find a genre she liked and stay with it, don't sing every style there is out there. At this point, he mentioned that Jesse had certain styles he likes and wanted Clay to use them in the Christmas show but Clay said that folks expect certain things from him in concert and he wasn't going to change it up that much.

To me, this sounds like a paraphrasing of what Jaymes told Clay -- "stay in your lane, but don't be afraid to swerve a little." I think this little section gives me a clue of what they are shooting for with the next album -- he's not going to change his style all that much. He might vary it a bit, but for the most part, I really think him talking about "upbeat" means lyrically rather than tempo. I'm not saying that he won't sing a fast song or two, I think he will. But my crystal ball doesn't really see Rock!Star!Clay appearing any time soon. What I hope for, though, is some more blue-eyed soul, like IYDKMBN. I would consider that "swerving" a bit. *g*

Glad you had a fantastic time djs -- and to ALL those who got to attend those shows.

I just hope CG is managing to stay awake at work this morning....

    :F_05BL17blowkiss: back at PuddinsJoy....

  8. bwah...you a lawyer Bottle???

Nope, but I have watched "Law & Order" from time to time. B)

Actually, I was expecting you to say, "No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night."

    :lilredani:

Ah, if Clay wasn't consistently inconsistent, this fandom wouldn't be nearly as much fun as it is. There's sumpin' for everybody, whatever their point of view is.

    :wordpooper:

That's really the beauty of HIM as well, isn't it? I mean -- he's human. Just as we all are. We all have inconsistencies in our lives and our opinions -- he just seems to celebrate them all that much more.

    Love him so very much.

  9. I then got to ask my first question. I wanted to know why he liked striped socks so much.He said that there was no reason other than they were fun and he loved Paul Smith's stuff. He said he got tired of matching socks, and finally decided to just put on what he found laying around. Now the woman who cooks and does his laundry is helping him out by matching up some of the weirdest combinations he has ever seen! I did check last night, and he was wearing mix-matched socks as has been noted by someone in a post.

As a fan of the striped socks, I love this. I'm glad someone asked him this question (thanks suebee!), and find it so "guy" that he just picks up whatever is around.

The first photo person asked him about his meetings in NY to which he replied "it was none of our business"! OOPS. He then added that they were business meetings and why were we interested anyway!

Thank you Clay. I'm not one to want to know his "business," just that I want him to be successful. But I know for some of the fans, their fandom revolves around his business dealings. Just doesn't sound like that much FUN to me, and from this answer, I get the feeling that Clay doesn't really want people to know that much either.

We got our tickets a few weeks ago and we are center orchestra row 4.

Hope we are permitted to take pictures. Will anyone else be going to this

Christmas Concert in Albany? If so maybe we can connect and have the

    chance to get acquainted.
