  1. OMIGOSH! I'm so excited for this CD!!!!! :flirtysmile3:

I hope people can see that this really is the direction he wants to go in. He seems so happy and content.

    ---

Plans for concerts will have to wait. A couple of my other boyfriends will be getting my attention for a bit.

Next week I leave for a week & half in Fort Myers Florida. Meeting up with an online buddy for some Twin's Spring Training!!!!

    I'm pretty pumped. Gee.

    The things we do :cryingwlaughter:

  2. jamar, you weren't in Winston-Salem yesterday were you? I was in back of a car that had the license plate "JAMAR" on it.I think it was a NC license plate. :clay:

    Oh don't I wish :cryingwlaughter:

Sadly I was in bitter cold Nebraska.

I actually picked my name from an old game we used to play when we were kids. Combination of the first letters of my 1st and middle name. But I was using it on a sports board waaaay back in the day when the internet was still young and I liked the fact that it also doubled as a young man's name.

  3. O/T, but I just had to say - goldarngirl and I saw Ray Price last spring here in London, and let me tell you - the man is 80+ years old and he absolutely blew us away. He sang for well over an hour - standing at the mic the whole time, and his voice was amazingly strong. Hee - there was even a 'Raymate' in the audience who kept shouting out I LOVE YOU RAY! at random moments. It was awesome.

Aw. That's so good to hear. I think Ray was truly the first VOICE that ever totally took me in. I just couldn't STOP listening to him. To this day I could listen to him sing For the Good Times anytime anywhere and melt into a puddle of goo. For a teenager (late '70's) I think it was the MATURITY and emotion in his voice and the lyrics of the songs that really made me sit up and take notice.

Don't look so sad. I know it's over.

But life goes on, and this old world will keep on turning.

Let's just be glad we had some time to spend together.

There's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning.

    *big sigh*

Clay? I'm so excited for this CD!!!!

  4. Huh. The albums I remember my Dad playing were Mitch Miller, Nancy Sinatra, Marty Robbins and Ray Price.

And to be honest....I didn't hate any of it *shrug* In fact, I'm pretty sure I wore out his Ray Price albums. But Dad was also open to music other than his own. He really learned to like Kris Kristopherson, Neil Diamond and even some Creedence.

Besides...we always had our transistors & earphones under the covers at night to listen to whatever we couldn't listen to on the stereo. Hee.

So I guess in that regard, I was lucky.

    Music is so subjective.

  5. You know...I've never read a Clayboard where anyone had any reticence about posting negative thoughts and feelings about Clay, his hair, his clothes, his family, his friends or any of this chosen projects :cryingwlaughter:

It has always been my experience that these people are supported to the nth degree by the board culture and have always been allowed to express themselves openly on the boards without fear of reprisal.

No matter what your opinion you are not always going to be agreed with or be in the majority.

So deal with it or do something else. JMHO.

  6. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather wait until AFTER Thanksgiving :cryingwlaughter:

I was picking up chinese take out the other day and they were playing christmas music. I don't know...I'm just not feeling it at all yet. I think this year it may be the week before Xmas before I get into the swing of it. We're having a huge family Thanksgiving so maybe that's why I can't look ahead just yet.

A couple of weeks ago I packed up the tree, tree stand, tree skirt, lights, tinsel and all non-sentimental ornaments and took them to our local Christian Outreach Program who promised to find a needy home with kids for the whole lot. I then purchased a 42 in, table top, ornament tree. Somehow, I feel 50 lbs lighter!

    :snoopy:

JMHO, but I don't think we are going to get any pictures of Parker from Clay. I just don't.
