  1. Hee. My co-worker's daughter is visiting from Vancouver and on Friday she was showing us the "elbow bump" they do instead of a hand shake. Too cute to see it in action so soon

eta...also just for fun....this is what one of our local sportswriters put in his blog yesterday.

    4. Apparently, someone has created a Twitter account in my name, complete with matching photo. I would just like to state for the record that I had nothing to do with that. I do not tweet, I have never tweeted nor shall I ever tweet. I think it's a silly thing. Nobody is that interesting that I need to know what they are doing or thinking every five minutes. If I have something to say that can't wait, you'll read it here. So, if you see something on Twitter with my name on it, it's a fake. It's somebody else giving you what they believe are the boring details of my life. Thank you, but I'll keep my boring life to myself.

I have a long standing dislike for this guy.

May be the best thing he's ever written.

  2. I think Clay has chosen the way he wants to go. It makes sense. It's what those outside the core fandom* expect him to sing. It's the way he is going to have a career in this business. That voice is what makes him stand out. I don't see him ever trying to go the pop-star route again. I do think OMWH was for the FANS. The new recordings will be for the rest of his career. JMO.

I have a friend who runs a large youth sports organization in Omaha. He told me once that no matter what he did a certain percentage of the people he dealt with would be unhappy and certain people would never be happy at all. Once he accepted those two things his job got much easier.

eta *I refuse to use THAT term...

etaa...*pats luckiest on the head and gives her a cookie* :P

  3. Yea, ok, so it was the seasoned all american great QB who made the difference in that game in the last seconds

Actually I think the seasoned wide receiver making a great catch and making sure both feet stayed inbounds did more for that play than the guy throwing the ball. Not to mention a great offensive line that blocked for him. Of course you'll never hear the talking heads admit that. Apparently, listening to them, it's still Brett's world and we all just live in it.

But as a Vikings fan, I sure understand how you feel. Favre always managed to do that TOO us. So, while I still have issues with him being on my team, I figure even if he just sits on our bench we're better off. :cryingwlaughter:

  4. I will always love so much of ATDW, no matter how it came about.

    Amen.

I would just add, no matter how the fans think it might have come about. Because really, isn't it all speculation put together from bits and pieces of this and that? What has Clay really said about it besides, there are many conspiracy theories but few actual conspiracies?

Yes, I remember reading some of the stories going around at the time and quite frankly most of them came from questionable sources.

If there is one thing this fandom has proven over and over and over again it is that we don't know nearly as much as we think we know. :)
