  1. Now that's the best strategy I've heard! I also believe in positive thinking and sending positive energy into the universe. I'm on board, Ansa! I really enjoyed the CD Listening Party this weekend. I love to think and talk about all types of music, especially Clay's. It was fun to hear the different perspectives, the things that grabbed individuals' attention, the things people gravitated to, favorites and least favored songs. Great discussion! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  2. This was fun! Thanks for hosting, ldyj.
  3. Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source - Share This dis·so·nance Audio Help [dis-uh-nuhns] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. inharmonious or harsh sound; discord; cacophony. 2. Music. a. a simultaneous combination of tones conventionally accepted as being in a state of unrest and needing completion. b. an unresolved, discordant chord or interval. Compare consonance (def. 3). 3. disagreement or incongruity.
  4. I like the dissonance. Just not a glory note fan except when really well placed.
  5. I like the sound of 'today' at around 2:02. 'da-day"
  6. Really. I think this one is just redunant. There are better songs on the CD about sleepless nights and bad relationships. And the glory note.... I won't say it. Are you here, Bookwhore?
  7. I've only put this song on twice, and both times I lost interest partway through and didn't listen to the end. This one does nothing for me.
  8. Cotton, thanks for posting the lyrics. So, it's "open up both your eyes" I thought it was "open up all your eyes" And that made me laugh. This isn't a funny song, but between the opening line about it being in everyone of us making me think Sir Robin thinking God swallowed a cup, and then being told to open 'all' of our eyes, I laughed all the way through this song. Now, maybe I can appreciate it. I actually like hymns.
  9. Someday I'd enjoy a discussion on this topic - the meaning, or maybe more the connotation of sentimentality. I don't like sentimental songs. Perhaps it's all semantics.
  10. I've had that exact thought, cagney.
  11. Good point! I think he did a great job with these lyrics.
  12. Well..... at the risk of projecting feelings onto Clay.... looking at the CD as a progression, a piece of art.... The CD is "On My Way Here." LAA is the here, where he gets to at the end. Where he is now. I hope not.
  13. Lover All Alone - I have adored this song from the first listen. Emotional, vulnerable, sensitive, without a touch of .... sentimentality (maybe I don't know what that word really means)
  14. Great syllable find, cagney!
  15. Mine's the same as Clay's - yet I doubt our favorites overlap!
  16. That's it! Comes off almost like a 'Phew!" OOOPS - How did that happen?
  17. I like the sound of this song, and I'm not bothered by the juxtaposition of a heavy topic and an almost bouncy melody. I find that interesting. I think the lyrical content is a bit lightweight for the topic, though. Gosh, I feel as if I'm being negative tonight. Sorry if that's a downer. I really like every song, I'm just much more drawn to some than others, and enjoy anlayzing.
  18. Very! I'm drawn to sensitivity in a man. Sensitivity and sentimentality are different to me.
  19. The idea of this song reminds me of an Evanescence song... now if I could just remember it...
  20. "What am I?" - favorite line This isn't one of my favorites, overall, though. Chick song.
  21. Nice piano. I like the rhythm of the lyrics
  22. I love the "you're" around 0:41 Yes, I can definitely see a group dance to this one.
  23. I don't really care for the bridge. The soaring "As long as we're here," on the other hand , I LOVE that That's the part that makes the most sense to me - as long as we're here, let's make the most of our time
