  1. Well we are finally going high tech. I don't know why we waited over a year to get HD digital tv, we had a digital tv.It's probably because my kids tried it and hated it. Might be because they had analog tvs. Being the handy person at my house I had to put the new tv together tonight and my back is aching. I'll hook up the dvd tomorrow.

It wasn't as hot today so I guess Clay got out his sweaters again.

I don't think I ever watched that Long Island clack. I was busy traveling around with playbiller When I got back home we were doing WFI and finally the Greensboro JNT. After that my computer gave out. I loved West Point and even Red Bank. At Red Bank there was a man in the balcony that kept taking flash pictures even as Clay got dizzier and complained about the lights. I think the whole audience was ready to lynch him. :dead-1:

  2. Happy Birthday YSRN

I vote for Raleigh getting (keeping) the heat and the Coast getting a cool down!

I'll let Fear fend for herself! :cryingwlaughter:

    <snip>

Thanks a lot Cotton :naughtywag: Hoping for rain as we are in an extreme drought again this year. Maybe Clay will head out this way. High Point has some amazing furniture shopping.

I usually agree with you, girlfriend, but not on this. IMHO Clay sings Emmanuel soooo much better than Jacob. I LOVE Clay's Emmanuel!

But I'll forgive you this momentary lapse in judgment, hon, since you're my girlfriend.

I agree with those who prefer Long Island AIW over Merrillville AIW. Long Island really was a triumph of the spirit! I really like Las Vegas AIW, too, since I was there. It was so good being there and hearing it live.

I'll never forget that show where Clay took over for Jacob. I was working on a craft project for our area WFI and listening to a cellcert. All of a sudden I heard this beautiful angelic voice singing about an angel and I knew it was Clay taking over for Jacob. I had trouble breathing for a while. What a moment!

    <snip>
But you made me think about Vegas and how much I loved being there. So now I want to do a list of all my absolute favorite Clay appearances be it tour or talk show or special event that I've attended. Then I realized that thanks to clack some of my favorite things I was only there thanks to video.

I think I'll go to bed now..and work on my list. That skating show will be there for sure and the funny thing was I had no intention or really going ... I was just playing on Ticketbastard... then I pulled up a fabulous seat so what choice did I have but to buy the ticket.
Happy Birthday YSRN. Have a beautiful day!

I loved the Las Vegas skating show, but one of my favorite shows was the West Point JNT. Although he wasn't feeling well, his voice and humour were spot on. In addition the place was packed with NJU. Another favorite was the Raleigh JNT05, probably because my friends saw for the first time what I see every time I go to a Clay concert.
  3. Speaking of rain...

    <snip>

Cotton and Fear, how about if we pray for a scorching hot morning until midday, and then an unexpected mid-afternoon rainstorm? Will that work for you temperature-wise? That way the cute guy may still put on a tank top to go out and with some luck he might get caught in the sudden downpour.

Well Scarlett, I like the rain part but could we have the heat at night. Clay probably sleeps late anyway. ;)

  4. EYATA: Tank top? --- is it wrong to pray for an extended heat wave in NC?

Nooooo!!! Then we just stay in the house. :chores003::chores009: I might have to put on a tank top and that ain't a pretty sight.

I guess I'd put a question mark about that sighting, just like when someone sees Clay with a pretty woman and it is rejected. This fandom needs photographic evidence for any and all sightings. :photo: *g*

Have a great day. I need to get out and work on a deck before it gets too warm.

  5. Nice pictures luckiest and liney.

It's too hot here to do anything outside. We are trying to redo all the decks. Cleaning and staining. Instead I'm cleaning out closets and not doing so well with them. My husband is cleaning up the SUV. I'm thinking of selling it and getting a bike for the short rides to the bank and gym. It just seems pretty silly to take the car two miles each way to exercise. We also have a Prius and that is about all we drive.

I hope videos of Clay in Somalia show up soon. I saw that 15 women were killed there yesterday sweeping the streets in Mogadishu (sp). I believe it was a bomb. The situation seems to be worsening by the day. The article I read also mentioned how the people there are getting more dependant on those supplying them with aid. I'm going to send in a little more to UNICEF.

  6. Happy Birthday Tijala

    Have a great evening!

Although I think both Quiana and Angela are wonderful people, I preferred Angela's voice most of the time. Quiana's voice is always perfect and I don't always feel the emotion from her. I'll bet she is a fantastic voice teacher though. She is the perfect duet partner for Clay when he goes more Broadway with his voice. Angela seems to do just about anything Clay asks of her. She must love him to death.

What I love about going to a Clay concert is the voice, the funny, the pure entertainment value he brings to every show. The reason I go to multiples is to witness the unexpected. I wasn't there for Listen but I adore the clack. It was one of those special unforgettable moments for me like Clay singing to his grandad and even Clay singing Without You with KLo or him falling and bouncing back up oh you get the drift. For me it wasn't about the song but about the connection between Clay and Quiana and kinda feeling I was watching them "work" and find the magic

I agree couchie. That's what makes going to more than one show of the same concert fun. I was there for "BSOB" with three of my friends for their first time. Now nothing is good enough for them compared to that performance. He really spoils people.

Happy Birthday luckiest1 Son and PoohBear99

Mr. Fear and I have had many unusual volunteer experiences but this afternoon is going to be another educational opportunity. We are going to bartender training so we can tend bar at a wine, beer and cheese party at the Democratic HQ tonight. Yesterday we swept and washed floors for two hours for this party and assumed we were done. Kind of strange since we are unaffiliated. Were the heck are the other volunteers? Plus I don't drink, not even beer. :clown_4:

I was thinking about Clay and hoping he is okay. This summer appears to be a blip in his career and we all have them.I've been pretty busy so no tour hasn't really bothered me. I hope he is getting his future plans in order. What I want is to see him get the respect he deserves for both his humanitarian activities and his talent as an entertainer. When i look at the pictures you all post it reminds me that all that is possible.

    Have a great day! :allgood:
  8. We already have one, it's here. :)

Duh!! I even looked for it.

Can we start a thread for fans going to the Gala? I don't know exactly how to do it. It might be easier for those needing rooms or rides. You are all welcome to stay with me but I do live 100 miles or so outside of Raleigh. Ugh!

    I didn't get a ticket - but can I come anyway??? LOL

I have a niece about 30 miles outside of Raleigh I can stay with tho - are you north or south of the city? :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Northwest of Raleigh, a little closer to Charlotte. Come on down.

    Psssst - [sv]she has cats[/sv] Shhhhh don't tell her I told you.

Oooooh - we could build a shrubbery!

    Ha! Thats funny.

ETA Playbiller just hates cats. Of course mine are sometimes unbearable, fighting and meowing at times. But we love them just the same. The good news is only one stays in the house and the other sleeps a lot.

  10. Happy Birthday KAndre and Crazy For Clay

Today is a calorie free day so eat a lot of cake.

By the way whoever posted that fat free cheetos picture a while back, I have been looking everywhere and the closest I came to it was baked cheetos. Not as good! But Whole Foods has all natural cheetos. Probably really good for you. :cryingwlaughter: I will continue my search. Meanwhile we have Pringles with olean. Not good for you.
  11. It was "ALAWH" which just took me by surprise. It even offered us an opportunity to talk about his recent UNICEF trip which she thought was very scary. We listened to the song twice and talked for approx. 4 minutes. But it seemed like an eternity to me compared to what our usual interaction is like. I nearly floated home!!

Great way to end the week. Thanks, Clay!

treenuts glad Clay opened up a line of communication. Good luck on the next few years. I kinda remember them.

Thanks gibby for the information on premmies. If August is really Jaymes due date, she is almost there at eight months. Hopefully we will hear the facts. Not that facts would ever stop the speculation. :cryingwlaughter:

Great pictures keepingfaith. I thought Clay looked really cute with a few extra pounds. I was shocked how some fans complained about it. Made me feel good that he might actually weigh more than me. But probably not. :cry4:

  12. Thanks for all the good thoughts for my friend. She had her baby this morning and she weighs just 1lb 4oz. Both are doing OK. Thank goodness.

Wow that is really small. My best wishes for the mom and the baby. Do they still keep the babies in the hospital until they weigh a certain amount?

My second son was called premature at 9 lbs and 2 oz. His liver had not fully developed and I had to leave him in the hospital. Fortunately my neighbor was a lab tech at the hospital and called me everyday with his stats. He's healthy but has had a few really unusual ailments.

  13. Iseemee, I mentioned that Jaymes is in good shape. She traveled to New York and back to LA while pregnant, executive produces his cd, manages to keep up her pace with Clay and she is almost or perhaps is in her final month of pregnancy. And doing all this at the age of fifty. I doubt she would have even decided to become pregnant if she did not have a clean bill of health from her doctor. I honestly believe she would not put her unborn child at risk if there were any doubts about her health. It just seems logical to me. Although I wouldn't be surprised if she is on bed rest or at least confined to her home (wherever that might be).
  14. What you are forgetting KF, is there is a lot of grades of truth and many variations of what is and many many bits and pieces of details. We don't know, may never know, it IS really none of our business. The person who verified the information claimed he did not verify the information - just the waves and eddies of the media and the fans filling in the blanks for someone who will not help them.

I really do consider more shades of gray than are usually necessary and I strive to do less of that usually. I'm not in a hoping this or hoping that mode, I'm just a curious old girl with a streak of detective in me. And I call them according to what seems most likely, a bit of the old Occam's razor according to me, I guess. Regardless of who did or didn't verify what, when and how, it's undeniably in the oxygen now. I've had people I barely know and had only fleeting conversations with regarding Clay, make a point to ask me if I know he's going to be a father. I just don't see Clay letting this story appear to be an accepted fact if it's not. If it was just TMZ or some supermarket pulp I wouldn't give it the time of day. But he's had a relationship with both People magazine and the Insider. This isn't about his favorite color, or who he goes out with. It's about a baby and I can't believe he wouldn't put a stop to the story if it's untrue. If it's untrue it causes unncessary stress on Jaymes during a high-risk pregnancy. I can't see Clay refusing to clear the air if there's nothing to it. He wouldn't have to say a thing. Jaymes could. Clay's management could. It could easily be dealt with. To me, it's the most plausible thing that it's true, and they're not ready to discuss it.

I'm leaving this with Clay's PR people. I assume that they had a plan and are sticking with it. I don't think of Jaymes as a delicate flower, she is in pretty good shape to be able to carry the baby to term. If they decided that Jaymes would be responsible for an announcement, they may be sticking with this plan. After all she is doing all the work. I don't think Clay spent any mornings throwing up or trying to squeeze into clothes. :cryingwlaughter:

It does make me almost laugh when people mention the shoddy tactics the tabloids use, when I see similar if not worse in what masquerades as mainstream, serious journalism every single day. Usually its a case of part of it's true, and part of it ain't. I've heard many a venerated pundit make fundamental errors about historical events and never correct them because the false premise helps to spin a false conclusion. There's so much of that in the "news" that it's a crying shame. Either they are a bunch of dumb asses who don't know they're wrong, or they're deliberating repeating false information with an agenda. Either way we're screwed.

I really agree with you about this. I followed a link on a daily political news blog which led to an article from the Hill. In it the writer accused John Edwards of fathering a woman's child while running for VP. The source was the National Enquirer. Because the tabloid had "so much evidence" (of course they wouldn't make anything up) he just knew it was true, despite the woman and another man disclosing it was that man's child.

And then for him to blog and say " it isn't true until you hear it from me - how many times do I have to tell y'all??"

You mean there have never been things that have come out in the media and proved to be true before Clay briefed the fans? I just find it so limiting to hold him to this "don't believe it unless I tell you" thing. I believe that he means exactly that when it comes to his career, but not his real life stuff.

He also said "Don't believe 85% of what you read" on another blog. Or something to that effect.

Anyway, I'll be interested in how this whole thing plays out, because whether Clay says anything or not, things will get said. And, ultimately, I think it's better for him if he controls the conversation so for that reason, IIT I expect an article somewhere. And then it will be back to life as usual with songs and tours and fun.

I really hope so. I get disturbed when I see fans chiding Clay for all the mistakes he is making. He deserves the right to live his life as he sees fit. I don't expect Clay or anyone else to tell me how to run my life anytime soon. :breakpc2::lol:

  15. Happy Birthday Permaswooned

    :cake: :hb2: :confetti2: :EmoticonRingAround: :fest30: :balloons:

Clay news. That insider article had a great picture of Clay. And IIT, I'm extremely excited for Clay. IINT, I'm excited for Jaymes.

Funny but sad story. Mr. Fear and I were volunteering at the Democratic HQs today helping with decorations for a party next week. A young woman, a senior in High School, was volunteering also. We were talking about NC politics when she said her friend decided not to vote because she was a racist and hates old people. :23:

She then said how she was a member of the young democrats and was thinking about joining the Democratic women, but heard that everyone was old so decided not to. I think the young democrats go up to age thirty so everyone over thirty is old!! :whatutterclaptrap: Sorry Clay I guess you are getting old. I really hope she and her friend were the exception, otherwise I really feel bad for the younger generation.

  16. From irisheyes at CV:

    New UNICEF blog

I don't understand why anyone would say something nasty on a fan board about this guy. I guess I'm always shmoopy. I don't always like the internet.

I forget to mention the only different place I traveled for Clay was Las Vegas. Due to playbiller's mishap I spent a day there on my own and had a really good time. Of course it was more fun when Playbiller and the other FCA people got there. It was especially nice of luckiest and her daughter to take me around with them another day. I loved the ice skating and singing combination. One of my favorite Clay shows. I thought he sang great and never understood the critiquing of every note Clay sang. He was real, he didn't lip synch and he never asked for a do over. It was fantastic.

  17. FromClaygary I haven't been to Maine in a looong time. But over thirty years ago we stayed at Casco bay and Sebago Lake. Back then Portland was a small town where we did some shopping. It's a little more bustling now. We just enjoyed the scenery and the quietness. My husband did a little fishing. The coast was quite lovely and rugged. :8:

Scarlett and luckiest thanks for the pictures. Sounds like a great time. No vacation for us this year. We're staying home and working on projects. I'm looking forward to the Gala in October. It's nice to have one thing on my Clay calendar. Now if I only had enough money to bid on something there.
