  1. Looks around. I think I have the whole place to myself. :whistling-1:

Anyway my early morning musings. If any of this is true (disclaimer), could Jaymes have found a doner any more qualified if she tried? Tall, good looking, very intelligent, extremely talented. She knows him better than any of us and I know I can say that without qualification. Clay helping raise the child? We have no idea if that part is true either. He may have given her a simple gift. That's about as deep as I can get without knowing anything. Could he love an older woman. I don't see why not? You are as old as you feel.

What shocks me is seeing that AI is considered disgusting by some. Only conception through intercourse is normal? And this is from fans? I guess there are a lot of people who think of Clay as a Ken doll to dress up and change hair styles. I don't know where they have been but that man is a lot more than that and I suppose that's why I like seeing him at the UNICEF Jenna Bush party or that photo with his family. He looks like a real person in those photos, approachable and real. I feel bad for Clay as I would for anyone who is publicly berated and ridiculed especially by fans.

And that poll rewind or whatever at aol. Don't even bother for every vote I put in last night two would appear in the freaky catagory. I'm beginning to think that some of these are rigged. :naughtywag:

  2. The story is surprising, for sure. But I can't say that the concept of Clay having a child with Jaymes offends or disturbs me, and I can honestly see it as a possibility. That's not to say that I believe the rumors are true. All these confirmations and denials are by peripherals, and I need more direct evidence. However, I can imagine Clay helping out a good friend by helping her conceive a baby. I can also imagine him having a relationship with someone but, for various reasons, deciding not to make the relationship public.

I suspect that Jaymes was caught by surprise by this statement to TMZ, and is still processing it and determining how to deal with it. Likewise, it's possible that Clay is unreachable or that he and his people are still deciding the best course. If he does know, Clay, being a gentleman, may choose to follow her lead in managing this situation.

I don't need to know right away. I don't feel he owes us an explanation, and I'd be a fan whether he was the father of the child or not. However, somehow, I think we'll get an answer eventually.

I agree with this. ET has been really nice to him lately so I'm hoping they will get the first baby pictures if this turns out to be true. And no I don't think thats using the baby. It's just the fact of being a celebrity. Celebrating the birth of a baby is positive news. I just hope that the papparazzi don't force Jaymes to give birth somewhere else away from her doctor.

I hope it's true because I can't get the vision of happy daddy Clay out of my head right now. I'd love it if he and Jaymes were in love and a couple, with a baby on the way. Or if they love each other as friends and have decided to have a baby together. If it's not true, I will not be disappointed, I will just move on to the next happy vision of Clay in my head. :)

I hope so too. Jaymes is a beautiful woman and it won't take Clay long to catch up to her in years. I'm kind of excited about this and I hope none of this publicity is putting a damper on Clay's and Jaymes' enthusiasm. (Disclaimer: If true)

Clay hasn't had a break from his fans for a year or more and a break is definitely due to take care of his personal affairs. If this is true I'm hoping the baby will make an appearance at the Gala. Selfish much?

  3. Here's hoping its true if that's what Clay wants. With all that money between the two of them there is no reason the child couldn't go on tour and live on both coasts. Lucky kid. :7:

I'm kind of shocked that some people think that it's disgraceful. Whatever the facts, that's one lucky kid. They must be so excited. I hope they'll share baby pics and give us progress reports.

I think were gonna need some baby buggy emoticons.

  4. Well as the last of the virgins in regard to listening OMWH, I am listening whenever i can. I am enjoying it more than the first time I heard it. I don't know the acronyms or even very many words of the songs and. Although The Real Me is my favorite, just because of The way Clay sings it, I don't skip any songs.

I had to laugh at my husband, who after hearing OMWH at least three times while we drove to PA last week, said to me "I can't believe I have a Clay Aiken earworm." He actually likes Clay and has been to three concerts with me.

There is so much Clack that I haven't watched yet that I don't think I'll be missing Clay for a while. In addition we are building a shed in our backyard this summer. I'm hoping I'll only have to hold up walls and maybe paint. So if things get nasty I do have a refuge. :lilredani:

  5. The Clinton campaign was behind the Rev. Wright business. Hillary's been playing toe-sies with Fox lately, and Fox has been pro-Hillary. If the Republicans were holding the Rev. Wright information, why did they release it during primary season and not wait until October? It was only in Hillary's interest that it came out when it did.

Keepingfaith, this absolutely hearsay perpetuated by political bloggers and journalists. I worked closely with our local campaign for Hillary. There were quite a few African American supporters of Hillary including two men from Maryland sent to run the headquarters who spent a month sleeping on the floor eating whatever a volunteer chose to bring in. Never was the Rev. Wright issue brought up. They were quite clear in discussing that their issue with Barack was his lack of experience. There was one volunteer, a black man, who said his community was upset with Michelle Obama, the way she spoke and the way she dressed. It seems she showed her knees with short dresses. I was a little shocked by that as I never knew there was a dress code for first lady candidates, so I assumed it was a religious thing.

I also never thought that Fox was nice to Hillary. My neighbor watches Fox ALL the time and he said they talked about what a liar Hillary is, so he favored Barack.

In phone banking we were never negative, we only spoke of what Hillary would do as president. Barack has been treated with kid gloves by the press. I'm afraid he is in for a rude awakening and I don't look forward to it. JMO

The Hillary supporters I met were wonderful caring people. After the primary it was so sad that the headquarters was disassembled as it was part of a young woman's home that she gave up temporarily. We promised to get together and support some of our other local candidates after the summer.

  6. I don't know if meeting with an editorial board is seeking out Richard Mellon's endorsement. Seems to me that every candidate would try to get editorial support in the primary state. I only saw her laugh about it on a TV show where she said "Who would have thought it?" I don't live in PA so I didn't really follow her there. My focus was in NC which we knew would be a long haul. I did a lot of phone banking and was subject to some extremely rude comments about her.

Hillary was forced to be responsible for the Clinton years and to discuss everything that Bill did wrong. Obama was blessed in that he only had to run on the autobiography he wrote. If he wins the nomination I will vote for him with no qualms. Last night a friend sent me a really nasty column written against Obama. I told her I was not interested in that stuff and thought the columnist, a black man, was an extreme right winger. I guess people assume because Hillary is portrayed as a nasty person that her supporters must be. My Hillary sign was taken out of my yard before the primaries but all the other signs were left there. So the hate goes on.

I saw both Hillary and Bill speak and they only had nice things to say about Barack. Hillary was speaking with Maya Angelou, who supported her and it was a nice warm conversation until a ditsy girl got up to supposedly ask a question and brought up Bill's dalliance with Monica. She and her daughter were harrassed with this at almost all their appearances. I guess it was a protest of sorts. Nevertheless they continued allowing questions.

My reason in supporting Hillary is that in her speech as well as Bill's they mentioned accountability for tax cuts. Hillary is all for a balanced budget which to some may seem "middle of the road", but to me is important for the economic security of this country. I have not seen Barack address this and it is a major concern of mine.

Hillary doesn't come across as well on tv as Barack but in person her speeches are dynamite. She is warm compassionate, concerned but put a camera on her and it all seems to disappear. But to my number cruncher mind she is the most experienced candidate and has the most to offer. But I will vote for whichever one wins.

  7. Can I stay here too? At least until tomorrow when I won't have any internet or even cell phone service until Friday evening. I won't know his numbers this week and i don't even care. Getting upset about somethiong I can't control isn't in my book. I'm still rooting for Hillary. Must be that Hillary Clinton optimism.

I'm starting to think that I must be the cause of that phrase as I was sitting in the front row at Spamalot the last night wearing my Hillary button. But I had been wearing it everyday since March so it wasn't for any reason other than good luck or maybe bad luck. I am definitely an optimist.

Also being highly competitive, I ain't given up until the buzzer goes off. There's always that one last jump shot that might make it in.

  8. I enjoyed Kimmel as usual. I didn't think it was the best or the worst of appearances, just another one. I really enjoyed the new topics Clay brought up and that flock of seagulls do was so funny. As long as he sings live I expect a glich or at least another interpretation of the song. He really is human.

I even enjoyed the clay statue skit. Those women and the guy were awfully brave to put themselves out there like that. If that were a statue of P Diddy it would have been just as funny. I don't think Clay should get special treatment from Kimmel. I just can't waste my time worrying over what other people will think. "let's make the most of our time" and all.

If anyone is thinking about getting a table at the BAF Gala would you please pm me. Right now there are three of us interested in getting together. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Playbiller why not just go to Clay's myspace and listen to the songs there. I don't do my space and I'm not even a friend of Clays but I can still go there and listen as well as AOL. My radio station took down the music on demand and no longer lets you email the dj's so nothing I can do there.

  9. Chiming in to bring up a pet that I have not seen mentioned. My youngest had this pet when he was in his early twenties. I think I bought this hermit crab that he named Otis from NJ one summer when visiting playbiller. It resided in an aquarium with just a bowl of water, sand and some extra shells and toys. My son would take the crab in the shower with him or just let it wander around the kitchen floor. We never stepped on it. Otis moved with him from NC to AL back to the NC mountains and finally ended up in our home. It died after about five years when we had a power outage and no way to keep it warm. Our cats climbed in a sleeping bag with me but there was no room for Otis. :cry4: It rally seemed to connect with my son. A very cheap pet.

Re "Ashes", I thought this song was a good fit for an uptempo song in an album full of meaningful lyrics. It's not my #1 song as I can't seem to get enough of the Real Me and Sacrificial Love. And I can see why Clay has a difficult time finding these uptempo songs, no oh baby baby in sight. As he said these will be fun songs at a concert. He really did plan out this cd for listening and concert use.

  10. That would be me, I am saving up to buy it with Pepsi points.

Play every time you post about the Pepsi points, I get this picture of you sitting at your computer up to your ears in Pepsi bottles poised to click on the "download now" button :cryingwlaughter:

Yay for Clay, :F_05BL17blowkiss: Ya done good!!!

Now that's funny. I was there and had to enter the 8 digit codes for her. She is actually surrounded by mounds of Pepsi bottle caps, she does recycle the bottles, thank goodness. Now she has me saving the Pepsi boxes from cans of diet pepsi which also have the codes.

Here is the post from CV which has a different point of view:

    paige4

I sat right across the aisle from Spotlightlover (4th row). The first 3 rows were VIP or guest list people. The first 3 rows were all (or mostly) Jack Black fans and very enthusiastic when he came out. Whereas they didn't react like WE do to Clay they did clap and smile at his humor. Of course I could not see the people in back of me so can't comment on them. I do think Clay got the biggest welcome from his fans (we are a loud bunch) and since the audience was 50% JB and 50% Clay......thought it was great that they seemed to enjoy Clay but then this is JMO. The 1st 3 rows also were very much younger than us. I thought the whole show was good.........but did find JB little boring in spots (okay a lot of spots...LOL). Whereas Clay sparkled!
  11. I recognize some names on other boards who seem to come out when fans are on edge. At this point it makes me laugh as they are so obvious, trying to get everyone worked up.

I just can't get too worried about Clay. He has more talent in his little finger than many other so called "singers". And those worrying about Clay not singing again. Now thats funny. He would sooner stop breathing than stop singing. JMO

  12. Well I stopped by our superTarget today and not a one Clay Aiken cd anywhere. Quite a few empty bins in New releases. We do have a fan board consisting of local members so that could explain part of it.

Then I went to the superWalmart and bought two OMWH cds for $13.88 each (they do have the bonus song and the really cute cover) as well as a really big jar of pickles, for my husband of course. They ordered 60 and after I bought my two they had ten left. Clay's bin under new releases was the only one with much activity, all the others were full. Even Walmart only has two rows of cds anymore.

    # 2 son just stopped by with his very own homemade compilation as a Mother's Day gift. I can guarantee there will be a bit of Missy Elliot on it as he considers her a genius. Although he did say that this was a sentimental cd. He does download legally as he was caught and threatened once doing it illegally. I gave him an OMWH cd and said I wanted a report tomorrow or Tuesday night when we meet him for dinner. He drives an hour each way to work so it shouldn't be a problem for him to listen.

  13. I have to agree with Ansa that a list does become like a chore, but I do like to see tham as it reminds me of a few things that I might do when I have time. Right now I'll probably listen to the music on demand from my local station as it is easy to do while I am paying bills or goofing off. They also took off their email addresses from the site and don't have a request hour so I won't be contacting them about the single. It was nice to see him in their rotating banner at top and another add at the bottom of their homepage.

I noticed no Clay in the flyers today. I hope the prices haven't gone up because I planned on getting some for friends. I'll have to get out my clothespin for my nose as I like the Walmart version and it's pretty cover best. Of course I have to wait until 1:00 pm to buy wine at Costco while I am out.

  14. When I heard this one yesterday for the first time, my first reaction was WOW!!! There is vocal excellence on this song... he sings high, he sings low, he changes octaves at a single bound... LOL

Very complex to sing... a singer's song for sure. I LOVE the ending.

This one fits very well on the cd, but I sorta think they should have put it 12th and still put LAA last. I'm glad they pulled this one in as an extra. It's great!

I was going to say that's one song I won't be singing along to. I do like the song and the complexity of the phrasing but it makes me feel a little anxious. I like it better than the muppets song though.

  15. One of my favorites. Is your sign cancer too?

Actually yes it is. And how did you guess that?????

    [

Sensitive and romatic . Plus i've been agreeing with your choices. Maybe we should do everyone's signs and compare to their favorite songs.

Surprisingly this is one of my favorites as I can really relate to this topic and it has a good beat. This is the most straightforward singing that Clay does on the cd and the lyrics are quite simple.

  16. I really just got the theme of this the other day...

on the surface it seems to talk about a couple that seem to love each other but can't get along...but if they just let all the hurt and anger go...then they can just make the most of their time...

it also has a very universal feel that in general if people can just reach out and learn to leave each other...then we can make the most of our time.

    love that part...lets stop now...

Yup. I see that now - but it took awhile.

Sacrifical Love - one of my very favorites. Love the waltzing sound.

Its a bit heart-wrenching. Love the the very poignant line "I see you lying beside me But I feel you moving on".

One of my favorites. Is your sign cancer too?

Guess I'm the biggest chick around then- I absolutely adore it! :cryingwlaughter:

Love love love it. That Clay guy can sing anything. Maybe its the waltz time, but i really think its his voice.

  17. You guys are so much better than the critics who have reviewed (supposedly) the cd. I'm thinking that they listen to the first five seconds of each song and move on to the next. Oy!

I wonder why they decided to use the celtic sounds on this song. I'm thinking this could have been Jaymes or Clay's idea since it was used on ATDW too.

I like this song a lot but not my favorite. But Clay sings the heck out of it. He uses every vocal technique imaginable.

  18. I have a hard time relating these songs to Clay since I don't really know him.

So this song says to me that although this person is feeling depressed and blaming him/herself for everything that went wrong, he/she is not alone. It is a pretty common feeling.

I like the jingle jangle guitar sound and the tremelo playing on it.

  19. The other actors in Spamalot must really be amazed to hear these types of songs from Sir Robin. I think it will take time for others to discover this album but it could be a real breakthrough for Clay. He is not just singing, he is feeling and acting. It proves that he can be right up there with the best singers of all time.

  20. The Real Me, I love it, just seems like a vocal masterpiece to me.

    Absolutely agree.

I love how he uses falsetto and vibrato to accentuate the emotions he is feeling.

Clay has said that this is a song to his god. I really have trouble relating to that so I choose to see the song about a tortured sole begging for an explaination and help.

This song just hits me in the pit of my stomache.
