  1. I had an interview today. I was one of 12 - we are 12 of 278 that applied for the job.

Unfortunately I don't think it went well. The first interview went well. He actually told me I was the best thus far. And then the interview with the second person veered off track and I've already put that job out of my head. Can't really explain what happened. We just didn't click. Oh well onward and upward.

Yes!! *pumps fist* an interview is at the very least, good practise. And think about this....if you didn't really click with the second interviewer and would have had to work with that person....would you really have wanted to?

Maybe take a few minutes to do some analysis of what worked/didn't work for next time?

..but remember that any company for which you're interviewing has to meet YOUR standards as well :)

  2. From the CH:

Clay has a new picture on his personal facebook page as seen by anyone who is friends with Aron Hall on FB.

If anyone can make this picture bigger, I'd certainly appreciate it!

    post-2192-1252892565_thumb.jpg

Sorry for the postho-ing. I forgot about the request for the larger pic.

Not much to work with in the way of resolution so it gets grainy if I take it much larger. Did anyone else get a load of the length of that thumb?

ETA: Thanks for the info, ldyjocelyn

I love that he's using pics like this now! :hysterical: He seems to like the funny ones, which perfectly suits his personality, so it's all good. :)

I'm pretty sure the pic was taken in the (now defunct) Virgin Megastore in Times Square....so it's at least 6 months old.

    Voting

  3. Maybe just me...but does it seem odd to be asking people to nominate themselves...I would pretty embarrassed to do that. I would think Clay and Diane would have a pretty good idea of what fans do for the Project and would be able to come up with a deserving candidate.

    Kim

Can't say that I agree....not with the part about nominating yourself, cuz you're right I would never do that! However....I'm sure there are people who wouldn't feel the same way.

But as to Clay or Diane having a good idea of who does things, I don't really think that's true. No disrespect to either of them, but there are many, many "unsung heroes" who don't allow their names to be associated with what they do, but who nevertheless have spent a great deal of time and money working in the trenches for the Project.

I'm going to have a look at the forms; there are two people I'd actually like to nominate, but I did simply forget it was getting close. :)

  4. I'm going to post the voting link for Twitterwall, for those who would like to vote for Clay but might not have it handy.

Please when you post this link will you post a simple warning within your post for those who may not be aware of a possible problem, and instructions on what to do should a problem arise.

Sorry, I wouldn't know what the problem is as I've never seen one...and I think you just did.

    :)

  5. You know I've been in this site continuously for the last few days as have a many others and I've seen nothing like this. Is it at all possible that this pop up came from some other site that she had open at the same time? There is no question that this is a nasty virus and depending upon which one it is, will make you reformat your computer to get rid of it (although I hadn't heard of it crashing it) BUT I haven't seen this pop up mentioned except for the mention from strummer6 via you. SO I'm just wondering if it could have been some other site that caused her the issue (unbeknownst to her).

I haven't had a second's problem either and have had the site up pretty much all day for the last week or so.

canfly, your suggestion to exit is also a quick and easy solution...good one!

  6. My first fear is not having a job by the time the gala gets here but I am also worried about getting time off so soon after starting a new job. Just have to pray that it all works out.

Oh, totally PERFECT job for you!! I hope you've had the opportunity to get to know them well enough so that they know that! (did that make ANY sense LOL?) Keeping everything I got crossed for you!

Also~don't even worry about that second fear...as an employER, I can tell you that they are well aware that even when you don't have a job, life goes on. Just make sure that you are upfront about it from the get-go, and remind them about it WHEN you are offered the position. I'm absolutely certain it'll be no issue.

It wasn't for me at all. The response when I reminded her about it last week was 'Oh, no problem!"

Late to the party, but Wheeeeeeeeeee! Way to go, FromClaygary! Congrats! So do you have to travel for this one?

Good luck claylove and everyone else who is job hunting.

Thanks!! :) Technically, no travelling for this job...but the District Mgr has already asked me if I'd be open to helping out at other stores from time to time and I've told her yes....and there is some training done at head office in the city....so practically, I guess some yes, but that's OK with me. :)

  7. muski, you must be over the moon happy. Had an inside cat who was about six months old when we moved into our house. She never went outside but, somehow got out about a year after we moved in. We gave up ever seeing her again when about three weeks later she showed up at our back door really thin and raggy -- but I will never forget the joy at having her back. Have no idea what happened to her but she NEVER went outside again. So glad you have your baby back.

I meant to comment on this as well! I had an inside cat too that slipped out accidentally one night; we lived on a very, very busy street. I walked for hours looking for and calling her (stole the neighbours cat off their porch that in the dark looked just like her but wouldn't come when I called  oops!). Couldn't find her at all. The next afternoon she was at the front door, covered in dead leaves and bugs and cobwebs ; I don't think she had actually moved all day from under the hedge by the front door, until she knew I would be home from work.

Any time after that the door opened? She back-pedalled so fast she was a blur! :hysterical: I think she thought the "outside" would suck her back out again! :)

Preden hope the program works out well for your son AND you!

  8. BWAH where ever he is, he looks like he just rolled out of bed!

It appears he is in France; if you biggie size it you can see French words in the background...it appears Reed is also in France...so you may be correct about him just getting out of bed, LOL

ETA: Correction, it was just posted on CV that the girl who tweeted is from Montreal.

    Kim

Yep, definitely looks like the old city in Montreal. I wonder what brings him up there....work or a nice long Canadian weekend vacation. And as you all say.....cute no matter where he is.

Yup....definitely looks like Vieux Montreal or QC, and if she's from Montreal it's likely there.

Eeeehhh!!! He looks wonderful!! A wee bit sunburned, actually :) The hair just looks a little windblown, that's all.....but he's WAY CUTE!!!

    :flirtysmile3::flirtysmile3::twinklewhore:

  9. Just finished watching and recording the Including Samuel video on PBS. The National Inclusion Project's announcement with Clay's voice was heard at beginning and end of the show that it was funded partially by the foundation. Great to hear his voice.

Happy Birthday Ausdon! Sorry I'm so late! Have another celebration on us!

Crapola, I had NO idea that was playing on Canadian TV! :( I've seen it of course, but it's a good movie and I'd happily watch it again to hear Clay's voice on my teevee. :(

  10. Hi guys. *waves* I'm posting for strummer6 right now.

She said she was on here reading this morning and decided to vote on that Twitterwall poll. She used the link posted here. She was hit with a 'browser hijack.' Her computer is completely crashed right now and she can't use it, so she called and asked me to let people know what happened. Whatever it is blocked her McAfee, so she can't do a scan. It download porn to her computer and won't allow her to use any of her browsers.

That's all I know. If you know anyone else who may be using that link, you might want to say something to them as well.

    I've not had any problem.

  11. Saw this on Openly Clay, but I think it's making the rounds, it's time to post it here. It's another very nice tribute to K-Na from an Omaha news station, and it talks quite a bit about her love of Clay. The whole piece is set to BYLM. (There is a brief ad before the piece...)

    Remembering Khrystyna

    *sob*

Wow, ldyj thanks for bringing that over! I've seen a number of pieces on K-na, but that one is really excellent. I hope that's the one they're using on the Telethon.

  12. Yep, the seasonal goodness of Ontario is something I appreciate, too. But I've never seen real local honeycrisps, they are always imported from somewhere else. There were some early local apples at the farmer's market recently called 'golden honeycrisps' but they definitely weren't the real thing. I ended up making applesauce with them, LOL. They were mushy.

I got local ones from the market just at the entrance to North Bay from the south side....and from the Algoma market in Whitby...both of which might be a little out of the way for you!

    I'll keep my eyes peeled.
