  1. KAndre.... I LOVE you!!! You mentioned about spacing down below the options/menu box and lo and behold that works!

Now, I no longer have to type something, then hit edit to write my message. This is much better!

I just finished reading all of Clay's last round of answers at the OFC. He is such an interesting man!

I love to see him talk almost as much as I love to hear him talk! I'm so excited that he's trying to make

the Mar date as much like a real concert as possible. However, I'm not sure how that can happen if the

attendees are not allowed to wear Clay stuff or have signs, etc... LOL And, what about screaming????

It's just not going to be a real concert experience without certain things being there

  2. I'm gong to try typing a bit, then editing.

Ok, this works here at work. Type in the dark, then post reply, then edit and you can see it just fine.

It would be interesting to know how many tickets have sold. Sounds like scalpers and ticket agents got

the best seats. I wonder if that is why really good seats often show up the day of the show... cause

ticket agents turn them back in.

I, too, cannot do a thing to my computer. The IT dept. has to do it all. Now, at home I have the new

    Chrome, so no problems.

cha cha... I love that church sign!!! :cryingwlaughter:

  3. Well, typing and not seeing anything is kinda weird... how can I proofread??? LOL

I sorta like the new board, but feel very strainge not going directly to View New Posts. I would like the email, too. Oh, wait... I should check my email first, huj!!! Da!!!

I can see nothing, so cannot fix my typos. Sorry!!! I love you all!!!!!!!!!! huj shoud be huh (hope I typed that right) And, there is no "i" in strange. Ok, I'm done!

ETA... hey, if I hit "edit" after posting, I can see my words and can fix things. I can live with that for now.

  4. You know sometimes things work out as they are supposed to.

I cannot go to Raleigh on the 12th because of work. Well yesterday at Noon I put my house on the market and today I had a full price offer and they want to close on guess when? Yep March 12th.

So no more fretting for me. I have a LOT to do in the next three weeks! OMG What have I just done?

merrieeee.... WOW!!! That's great, but... I'm sure you'll find a temp place till you new house is ready. Is it bigger or smaller?

Bummer, annabear. So glad you are better now, but missing the event? :cry4:

    annabear... :yeahthat:

    Luckiest..., :bdayparty2::bdayparty2:

ldyj... Have you published the direct link on CB and CV? That might be a good idea so everyone doesn't think we've all quit being fans after that TicketMonster mess yesterday... LOL

  5. I'm here, I'm here!!! :04:

I have the front page bookmarked here at work and, of course, it doesn't work now. I finally found a link on Caro's blog... THANKS, Caro!

I honestly don't think Clay has any idea what Ticketmonster does to us during pre-sales. It sure seems like they saved most of the far away seats for the pre-sale from what I was reading. Sorry about that, all you ticket-tryers. And, what the idjits did to the Canadians was totally not ok! (I can't bring myself to type the words I'm thinking!)

Well, the online fans are going to be spread all over the theatre and that might be a good thing. Sounds like upgrades will be the norm and there will be lots of tickets for sale as always... heh heh

Now that the tickets are on sale, I'm getting more excited and I'm not even going. :cryingwlaughter:

  6. Fingers crossed

    th_Fingercrossed2.jpg

that your ticket search will go well,

    th_Looking.jpg

that you can successfully bend Ticketmaster to your will,

    th_TampaDCAT6.jpg

    and that you emerge triumphant.

    th_orlandoDCAT10.jpg

bottle.... I love your pictoral.... kewl!!!

Is the OFC pre-sale at 10am or 12EST?

All the pre-sale info (the same content as the email) is now posted on the News page of the OFC.

bottlecap, your pictorial awesome. Kinda makes me wanna get bent ^_^

    cindi.... BWAH!!! Me, too!

YAY...Perusing One has ALL of the FCA files.

    Couchie.... YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!! for Perusing One!

  7. If anybody is interested... these are sendspaces for mp3's of kd lang's Hallelujah, and Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now from the opening ceremony.

cindi.... thank you soooo much for these mp3's!!!

I am going to start visualizing Clay's being thrilled with the taping, the audience, just everything about the March 12 show. He really deserves everything to be exactly as he wishes it to be.

I searched for almost an hour last night to see the speedskating final. I think NBC and the cable stations have conspired to make sure you either watch it on tv or you pay for the higher priced cable packages. It wasn't even on youtube. I get the cheapest cable package available and was told my plan didn't allow me to see events on nbcolypmics.com. Boohoo! I am sticking my tongue out at you.... tm French guard.

  8. First of all, kimiye's post: try this link. I logged out of the CH, and then copied the link, so it should work now.

Secondly, semi-off topic: kd lang's version of "Hallelujah" from the Opening Ceremonies last night. She has an AMAZING voice IMO, and I'm definitely with Fear that I'd love for her and Clay to do a duet. Also, to make this on topic: Clay, if he was able, probably watched the opening ceremonies. He definitely should know "Hallelujah" now!

Oh, and kd's "style" lately is to sing without shoes, no matter where she's at.

ETA: Quick Link to kd's video for the Canadians

ldyj.... O.M.G... that was absolutely beautiful!!!!!! If anyone can get an MP3 of that to burn to a disc, please point me in the right direction. I would love to hear Clay sing that and would love to hear them sing a duet.

I loved the three-person/ice cycle torch lighting part... that was totally cool.

He's gonna have guests... Ruben??? Who else??? Hannah???? that would rock! We'll know in a few weeks. No clack, but people can still type their little fingers off in recaps! Honest! LOL

  9. It's official! I'm employed!! And I had my choice of two jobs. Gotta love a company that lets you walk around with your ipod. The deciding factor was the health care plan. I'll get to go back to my old doctor who I haven't seen since I had to let my Cobra go.

Can't wait for the news... all the news like album drop date, tour, promotion and of course the special. whoo hooo

Couchie..... Whooo hoooo!!!!!!!!!!!1 That is the kewlest!!!!! Are you able to take any relaxing time before you start? After I got my job (after being unemployed for 8 months), I took a 3-day weekend to just let it sink in and let my worry parts relax. It is such an awesome feeling! Again, congrats!!!

  10. KAndre.... you missed the best beginning to the second half in the history of Superbowls. Brilliant!!!

I almost cried when Drew Brees was holding his little boy with tears in his eyes at his son being there to see his dad's dream come true... course at 1 year old, barely, he won't remember, but his dad sure will. Very special.

Queen was not good, but lively and the kids with her were fun to watch. Carrie... I went to the kitchen cause no one can beat Clay, tho Jordon did very well.

I am soooooo happy the Saints won. I think even Payton wasn't as unhappy as he could have been cause he loves New Orleans and the Saints so much.

    Tomorrow's Monday.....eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  11. ldyj... I absolutely love your avie. Jest sayin'

    Congrats, Couchie.

Money is always a good thing.

Whatever Reed has taught Clay, it certainly has made them both happy.

    wanda.... :yeahthat:

Couchie.... congrats!!! Jobs are nice to have right now! Clay money, ya' know! LOL I'd be very happy to throw some money his way.

My mother was into country. She used to play "Don't leave your gum on the bedpost overnight" over and over.... that kind of country... and I'm not sure it was cause they were funny! I, of course, liked rock n' roll and still do. It took John Denver to get me back into country again. I, too, did love Tennesse Earnie Ford... big voice, funny man. hmmmm... not near as cute, tho. :cryingwlaughter: I liked Dolly and Kenny. So, select country.

Weather on the coasts are nuts... we're getting rained/mudded out and my boss is stuck in DC cause of the massive snow. I sure wish that meant I did not have to work on Monday... oh, well... next Monday, thank goodness!!!

  12. I also think he looks very slimmed down and wish he would wear more fitted clothing to show off what I believe is a beautiful body hiding under those clothes! Pleeease baby, pleeease :lilredani:

Clay loves surprises. Maybe he wants to surprise us with a hot toned body, in skin tight pants and a sexy shirt with a couple of buttons open at the top to expose chest hair. He probably didn't want to turn the ladies on too much before, under the circumstances, but now he can turn us all on, guilt-free!

Maybe he'll even rub some feet now!

I just have no negative expectation at all about this new album. And I'm the hard-rock lover, loud and metally is what I've lost a portion of my hearing to since the 60's. I was Led Zeppelin's devoted fan back in the day ... yet in the spirit of full-disclosure my favorite Zeppelin was and still is, Thank You. Anyway, if I can bridge the gulf between that and It's Impossible, I think anybody can.

And when Clay talked about the PBS show as going after the target audience, I think that audience is discerning appreciaters of great music. Because I seriously doubt it has anything to do with an age-related demographic. Here in the Clay Nation, from what I can tell, we're in our 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and so on. We like rock, pop, showtunes, classics, and stuff we learned to love on Idol, like Build Me Up Buttercup.

Which reminds me ...... Buttercup is from the '60's, isn't it? It wasn't anything I knew about in the '60's, but it's also a bit of a Clay signature from Idol, which is the first and last time I recall ever hearing it. A thought, but maybe Clay wants to scoop up those "signature" Idol songs like Mack and Buttercup and To Love Somebody, even Unchained Melody which he's never recorded. You know that David Foster has probably been pushing him to record UM. Maybe he's swooping in for his Idol gems before someone else does! And, I just had a heart murmur, wait a minute .... I Can't Help Myself! Could you help yourself if Clay tours this summer with Sugar Pie Honey Bunch AND Buttercup!?! Dreams, dreams, but Lord, Lord, Let it BE.

As for determining the tone of the new album ... I think Clay is sandbagging this thing big time! I think he's going after the Idol audience that wonders what happened to him, and their kids and parents and friends and neighbors. And I think he'll get something on radio this time. I predict.

keeping.... I like how you think!!! I would love Buttercup on the CD.. and any of the ones you mentioned. My daughter is one who loved him singing on AI, but hasn't like any of his CDs. She'd buy this one if he does a few AI songs on it.

    :yeahthat:

What excited me about GFI is how long Clay sang- As if he never wanted to leave. I could only guess that he misses touring big time and I miss him touring big time.:needclay:

You know he just kept singing and singng like he was having a really good time. I haven't been able to really voice it too well but it, to me, just felt different. The evening felt so intimate like he was singing to a few good friends. His voice just wrapped around me and grabbed my heart! I almost felt like he "let us in".

    Does that make any sense?

merrieeee... the part I bolded grabbed my heart, too! Thanks for sharing!

    $20,000

    $30,000

No - $50,000! Who needs retirement savings when a dinner with Clay is at stake?

    GFI2010_16.jpg

Good thing I wasn't there or the intense gaze and the TONGUE might have made me temporarily lose my mind. :cryingwlaughter:

bottle.... :cryingwlaughter: Glad you got a tongue picture!!!

    What a cutie!post-292-1265314473_thumb.jpg

merrieeee... O.M.G. What a cutie! is right!.... the problem is... which one are you talking about???? LOL

  13. Anyway, I love hearing Clay sing Moon River NOW. It has a fresh meaning for me -- the story of Clay and Reed, two drifters off to experience the whole wide world in pursuit of the same rainbow's end, together. Sigh.

keeping.... niiiiice sentiment! I expect there to be many nuances in his singing love songs now that he is experiencing the love he doth sing about.

There is someone on the CB that has youtubes of all the songs. It's in the GFI thread... I think the one they do with only the red typing in it. I got there by double-clicking, then got thrown out before I could figure out where I was. Normal for me... LOL

This generation hasn't had a Johnny Mathis or Perry Como or Andy Williams that sings beautiful love songs to slow dance to or make out to like we had in my youth. Tho I adore Clay singing fast/fun songs, I'm sure he will in live concert, so I'm ok with him being the romantic song guy to bring in the fans who then find out he is side-splittingly funny and can sing Michael Jackson as well as he does Perry Como.

  14. Oi, those new pictures of Reed and Clay? YUM! They look so cute and happy!

This version was posted at GCA - created by Alyse.

bottle/Clayzy... I thought we could use a very purdy picture!!! THANKS!!!

I'm not sure why exactly, but I'm pleased that the NY Times didn't identify Clay in the picture. I just like it that he's just a face in the crowd, for some reason. I also find it extremely cool that we have a more "official" picture of Clay and Reed together. (lilyshine, I agree that it's nice that this appeared in the NY Times, not some rag. Also had to laugh at your purchasing the paper today -- he's still got you in his purchasing hands!)

Tech notes: anyone here use Google Chrome as their browser? I'm loving it, and they released a new version today that allows for extensions. I just discovered a great extension -- Picnik. I can now click on the little link in Google Chrome, pick the picture I want to crop/save that's on the web page I'm on, work with it, and then save it automatically to my Photobucket (or Facebook, or Flickr, or many other services). It took me about 30 seconds to take this:

    popup.jpg

    and make it into this:

    CroppedRelay.jpg

    So very very cool!

    OK, off the tech soapbox!

ldyj... just wanted to see these again and marvel that he and Reed weren't pounced on by the media... yipee!!!!!

Caro... wanted to tell you I spent a verra verra niiiiice hour playing on your blog last night. The SueRue montages of Clay's career were awesome. Thanks for doing this. I'll try to leave a comment next time I get back there so my visit counts more for your blog and for Clay!

  15. Haven't had a chance to get to the OFC yet...just home from work and speaking of work...after 14 years as a part-time employee, I was offered full-time at the Library! :yahoo: My husband is retiring next year and even though he will be getting a good pension package...full-time with benefits will be welcome.

The only thing is that one of the requirements for full-time is that I have a Library Techincal Assistant degree so I have to go back to school...let me tell you, the idea of going back to school after 35 years is freaking me out a bit. But I can't afford to turn down a full-time job so I guess I will have to bite the bullet.

There is only college in the area that offers the classes so I guess I will be checking out the program to see what's what.

    Kim

aikim.... Whooo hoooo... way to go! Don't worry about school, you're not a teenager, so all you have to do is read and study... no dating, wondering what to wear, wondering who likes you and who doesn't... piece of cake, my dear! LOL

I LOVE that fancy picture of Clay and Reed. I right clicked so fast my head is still spinning! Verra verra niiiiiice!!!

  16. Oooh, luckiest, that is one of my all time favorite performances of Clay! He really soared on that as did Hannah

For anyone wishing to enjoy it here is the youtube ~

    Clay Aiken Sings The Prayer

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F37_PTJyZ4

    :clap::clap:

tree... thanks for the youtube. I have the DVD, but the youtube I can watch here at work on my lunchtime and that was fantastic. YUM!

ETA: I just finished reading the Questions FROM Clay thread at OFC. Jemock.... need I say more???? BWAH!!! It is mind-boggling how much he has done in 7 years. And, people grump when he taks a few months off. :cryingwlaughter:

  17. Did the guy grow into his ears or what?

merrieeee.... he either grew into them or... I wonder if it is possible when you change the angle of your jaw that it changes the angle of your ears. Whatever... now he can wear his hair however he wants. I love that color and that style. YUM to the max. And, that dark haired curly-cutey holding on to him is slightly gorgeous himself... whew! What a pair!!!

I know it's none of my business, but someday I would just love to know how and when they met. Sigh!

  18. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I can't afford to go, but I've existed on clack for a long time and I will again.

The man has to come to me, that's all there is to it. Unless that lottery ticket I never buy miraculously comes thru... LOL

Maybe the PBS special filming got moved from Feb to Mar. That's my guess! He's gonna want his own fans at the filming, I'm sure, so there will be lots of eeeee'ing and lots of laughing... both of which are good for a PBS special that we hope brings him lots of new fans. Just think of the faces Clay can make at our silliness, which makes for more silliness and LOTS of fun!!!

  19. keeping.... this picture.... ohh laa laa - two sex on a sticks! My fave of them all. I wonder who they were traveling with who took all the pictures?????

    ClayandReedonvacation2.jpg

My first thought when I look at that picture - sssssssssssmokin hot couple!! My second thought? That's a LOT of water. No wonder Reed's holding onto him so tight ;-)

My afterthought: Damn, he looks great in that outfit.

Clay looks incredible in his island clothes -- and no cargos and plaid in sight. I think Clay and Reed probably do what all tourists do and give the camera to a willing stranger. That, or Jerome was taking pictures! :cryingwlaughter:

I do see a smoking hot body under Clay's linen clothes. The upper arms and thighs are muscular, the chest and shoulders are broad, and the waist/middle is small. Has he been working out with Reed? Well, of course he's been working out with Reed, 'cause you gotta KNOW that Reed gives him a good working out and I'm not talking about in the gym or studio (necessarily).

Whatever, we'll probably never see that body. Opposites attract, no doubt (didn't he do that song in the DCAT Classics?). Clay can be defined as extremely modest, and Reed flaunts his gorgeous body. My sister says he's borderline exhibitionist, and I like seeing what he's exhibiting.

Clay is managing to have it all - a fulfilling love life, a beautiful son with his "dearest" friend, a long and winding road career, and the good works he spearheads for the disabled and disadvanged, while teaching understanding and giving to the healthy and wealthy. What an amazing human being he is.

ETA: While I was posting this, I'm singing this song that invaded my head. "Where or When" that's a Rodgers & Hart song from the 30's or 40's and was a hit for both Dion and The Letterman in the early 60's. For those who think young people don't like classic songs, I can testify that the first time I ever heard Where or When was on the radio, while sitting in the backseat of my parent's car on the way out of town, and the cascading emotions of this song, music and lyrics, brought tears down my face, and I didn't know why. My mother turned around and was alarmed that I was crying, thinking something was wrong. I made up something because I was too embarrassed to admit that I was having an emotional reaction to a song on the radio. I was 11.

keeping... I keep quoting you... I like the way your mind works (see bolded above) cause I thought the same thing... no pouchy tummy!!! YUM!!!

I think we're looking at least until tomorrow or Saturday for the BIG NEWS from Clay. He did say, "in the next several days, or so" and several is at least three, which from Tuesday's blog would be Friday, and "or so" means it could be another day or two give or take. I think weekend is a comfortable prediction -- not that I'm closing my browser window to the OFC in case it's today. No way.

Now as libertine as I can be, I really was uncomfortable reading about the person approaching Clay at the theater. I wouldn't have a problem speaking to him if he were alone in an airport, on the street, in an elevator, etc. But in a restaurant or a theater where he's with friends or family, I couldn't imagine being so bold to think Clay would want to deal with a fan, even a fan he recognizes. A wave from a distance is the MOST I'd give it if he made eye contact. After that, it would be up to him to make a move. I've seen a number of celebrities in my time and most of them are really nice, but the ones I've spoken to have said something to me first. Maybe it's just a Southern thing, but I think it's common manners to respect others' privacy. Just my 2 cents.

ETA: claycherie, "I melt everytime we kiss" is from Where I Draw The Line, which I think is one of the finest songs Clay has ever recorded.

Keeping.... agreeee about the person who spoke to Clay. Commenting to him that she enjoyed the blog is one thing, but to ask him a question obviously was a no-no, since he dismissed her immediately. That implies a relationship that he didn't want since he was not "working." He's very into separating working time from private time as much as he can and I support him in that completely.

FromClaygary... I'm sorry about your eyes. I have the bare beginnings of Macular Degeneration, but it's so far in the future that I think with vitamins and early treatment, my eyes will be fine as long as I need them to be. I have an aunt with MD and she got some kind of a series of shots that improved her eyesight a lot. They are making strides in vision care all the time. It's amazing what they can do nowdays.

  20. Hey thanks Ameraiken! Mathematical speculation sounds a whole lot better than No shit, Sherlock! I appreciate it.

    Liney, I'm curious. WHICH picture?

How long has it been since I EEEEE'd? Well, that's been too long. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I feel okay now.

keeping.... this picture.... ohh laa laa - two sex on a sticks! My fave of them all. I wonder who they were traveling with who took all the pictures?????

    ClayandReedonvacation2.jpg

wanda... that's funny! I wonder if he bought his own tickets.
