Claygasm
I mean, why would anyone be a fan of someone who doesn't make them happy?Aw, but you see--we are in complete agreement!!!!
-
Couchie I understand your feelings about Clay needing his fans, but I do find I disagree a little about his needing ALL of his current fans, because I'm just not sure someone IS a fan if that person constantly criticizes and complains about Clay, his team, his choices, his CDs, his behavior, etc. It seems to me that person is a fan of some imaginary person whom he/she has created, not Clay.
Most of Clay's fan whom I know are actually NOT on the message boards, so we are a little microcosm here--not necessarily representative of the whole. I think that if a few of the "fans" moved on, others would take their place, and maybe some of the dialogs would be healthier and some new fans might feel more welcome. Let's face it--most people want to be a fan to celebrate. Not to boo or pick apart. And, while I appreciate their right to do that, I don't like to participate (or observe).

I've really enjoyed reading what everyone has to say. I have little to offer as I have no profound thoughts regarding Clay and am privy to nothing in Clay's life. However, I do want to say that when I read that people are refusing to buy ATDW or won't be a fan IF Clay....[fill in the blank], I say "Good riddance!" The world is chock full of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlakes. Move on.
Leave me and my unconditional devotion alone.

I think of Clay's career like a toy glider. If you throw it straight up into the air as far as you can, it may go up high, but it immediately crashes back onto the ground. However, if you wait until the wind is right and throw it at just the right angle, it soars.
I think Clay is just about to soar.

Couchie I am right there with you!!! I feel so positive about what Clay is doing, and I think that he is really slowly building respect in the industry, and that can only lead to good things. It makes my heart happy when I hear how he is treated by producers. I'm just dying for November (see you there!!). I'm so sorry I won't be able to attend the other Christmas concerts, but I know the Clack gatherers will be there for me.
All is good.

First posts are kinda scary.
Thank you for telling me about your board couchie
I really enjoyed spending our fabulous day in 5th grade with you. You are a hoot!
Hello!!! I'm so happy to see you here. I loved your and Gareem's recap!

I find smart men sexier than zipper down men.
Unless the zipper down happens to belong to Clay
Couchie, thank you so much!!! I love all the details. Yesterday was a wonderful day in the world of Clay.

$300,000 is really good!!! I'm proud.
Eager for Couchie's report.

God, I've finally caught up.
Just this to say:
The only balls I want to see in a movie are below the waist.

"Someone" checking in! Obviously I made a bad choice in words and phrasing last night....the way things fly around the boards; I figured it was pretty common knowledge or at least suspected. I am not one to spread gossip or start rumors...so okay; from now on, I will make sure any info I pass along has at least 3 verified sources.
Got called into work today to shelve books and generally help clean-up...seems they are moving along with the renovations at the library much faster than they anticipated...good for me since I am not being paid during this layoff.
See you all this evening; everyone have a good day!
Kim
You didn't post anything that I hadn't already read about 10 times in various places! Certainly, there were no secrets, so I think you're good. Sometimes, people misunderstand.
-
I don't think that Littlec has written anything that wasn't pretty common knowledge. She simply clarified the relationship of Jamie to Clay. No biggie. She has been very discreet with any other information she may be privy to. I think it's easy to assume that NO ONE knows anything and that all communications are suspect, but I'm not sure that's always the case. Since we're not in a court of law, I'm willing to listen (read) a bit of gossip without a sworn affadavit.
I'm so easy.

Littlec sometimes posts emails she's received from Faye, and I believe that she lives in Raleigh and knows the family.
ETA: Kim beat me to this!
See - THIS makes me even more skeptical. She posts emails she gets from Faye?? Oh yeah. I would want my "friend" posting my emails on a public board for all to see!
I'm sorry, I should have been clearer. Occaisonally, Faye wants to share something with the fans and asks Littlec to pass it on. I wish I could remember, but they have seemed quite legitimate, but feel free to be sceptical if you like.

If Clay were my "kissing" cousin, I'd jump his bones in a second.
I mean.....is there a BETTER catch out there somewhere??
I.don't.think.so.

One of the things that has made me happy about this tour is some of the positive press Clay has been getting.
In Tampa I was sitting right next to a man who is a DJ on magic 94.9 which is a local radio station in Tampa.
The following is part of my Tampa recap.
The next interesting thing that happened to me was where I sat, or rather who was sitting right next to me. It was a young man who seemed to be in his 30's and had his little boy with him. We started talking and I was told they had never seen Clay in concert before. The man then told me his little boy, who is 8 years old had a meet and greet with Clay. My mind went sort of blank, huh?
He proceeded to tell me that he was a DJ on magic 94.9 which is a local radio station in Tampa. He gave his business card to hope4clay who was sitting next to me. His name is Chadd Thomas.
My assumption is he interviewd Clay. What I found interesting is that Mr. Thomas and his son attended the concert, and that Clay made the little boy a part of the concert by shining the spotlight on the child and asking him, who is my favorite singer?
It is futile to resist Clay Aiken when he works his magic.
Somebody wrote about this somewhere (CB?) and I think had emailed the guy who really enjoyed the concert and was thrilled that Clay spotlighted his son. Sorry I can't be more exact.

XXX4Clay So glad to see another familiar name!!! And with such purdies.
I was reading through quickly, trying to catch up, and I read Keepingfaith's line about "Don't you just love his tactile sensuality" and I thought it said TESTICLE sensuality, and I was thinking OMG, this is SO my kind of place!!!!
Tactile sensuality is good too.

Canooky and Texwriter are here!!! :04:
The green refugees have arrived en masse!!
So many familliar names--we've come home.

What I used to read as wool over eyes will now be permanently etched into my mind as woo lover eyes!!
Much better imagery, by the way.

Honestly compels me to say that I have from time to time thought, "What in the hell did he do to his hair??" but I've avoided posting such things because I didn't want to be part of a 20-page thread on how he should fire his stylist and doesn't care about his public image, etc. etc. etc, ad nauseum, especially since my hair usually looks like shit. I have no problem with differences of opinions, just meanness. I haven't seen any sign of that here--and believe me, I've looked.

Love for Clay.
Purdy pictures.
and SMUT!!!!!
My cup (and Clay's) runneth over.

I have my IPhoto library set to do a slide show as my screen saver, so when people come I have to make sure to close my laptop so they aren't treated to a slide show of crotch shots.
I'm a sick person.

I hope you're not referring to virginity or marriage.
