Good afternoon! I got up bright and early--went out to breakfast and went to the early showing of My Life in Ruins.
My review:

Is it a foreign film?
Only Americans out for a quick buck would make a movie this %$%^#@$ bad.
Couchie Oh, it would be great to meet up for the Gay Pride Parade!!!

Is anyone in the San Francisco bay area interested in meeting up for the Gay Pride Parade on June 28th--it starts at 10:30 AM (until 2:30)?

Merriee and claylove I wasn't talking about you--but the people who actually give credence to pondscum and worry that anyone actually cares what he has to say.
-
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would read anything pondscum has to say--or even worry that anyone with more than 2 brain cells would care.
-
I checked google, and Clay's blog has been copied to a few more places. While I regret that Clay's private responses can't be private, in this case, I hope a lot of people read what he has to say because it's well worth reading.

The world is full of gay couples who dance with each other. WHY shouldn't they be encouraged to try audition for SYTYCD the same as everyone else? They are judged individually--and people are allowed to bring whatever partner they want.
Wouldn't I just love to see Clay and Reed dancing!!!!

This is a fairly long, but VERY interesting article about the homophobic remarks of Lythgoe on So You Think You Can dance.
wanda... thanks for bringing this over. I'm still getting educated on gay rights. I watched that segment and didn't even notice what music was playing, before, during or after. I just saw two men dancing a sexy dance together and just thought it was a step forward for them to even show it. Hopefully, I'm not the only one who thought that way.
I thought it was so charming to see the two men dancing, but I was horrified at Lythgoe. Honestly, I didn't notice the music either--probably wasn't paying attention.

I saw Every Little Step at the local theater (Monterey, CA) that plays a lot of documentaries and foreign films.
I think it's playing nationally.
-
I just returned from seeing the documentary Every Little Step, about creating the original A Chorus Line and casting the revival. It gave me a REAL appreciation of how hard it is to be a dancer on Broadway. It was a great show.
Since we have a dancer in our "family" now, you all might find it interesting.

My heart just soared at his passing reference to his own right to marry.
I'm a hopeless romantic.

I hate all the hate I've seen on the boards in the last few days--whether it's directed at Clay or Adam.
It just makes me so sad. I can't believe that Clay would EVER want people to act this way.
Especially over something so completely ridiculous as he said, he said.

Happy birthday, Olsee and JumpingJacks!!!

Well, considering that Clay DID say that Adam's singing made his ears bleed, I think Adam can be excused making a sassy response. That said, I don't give a rat's ass about this whole Adam and Clay crap, and I'll be so happy when people move on.
Moving on myself, what is Clay doing in Atlanta. THAT, I want to know.

This quote of Nellie's was written under the picture and I immediately thought of Clay and all the hullabaloo over his blog/apology.I do think of the guy at the strangest times.
"Never retract, never explain, never apologize, get the thing done and let them howl."
You should post this as a comment in Clay's blog.

If nobody cared about Clay anymore, nobody would care what he said.

This fandom is so predictable...there is already a fan complaining that Clay called her immature.
Kim
Too bad he didn't call her an immature BITCH.

I call for a truce.
I love Adam, and I didn't read any diss from Clay. Ring of Fire sucked donkey balls (LOL) and if that was Clay"s ONLY exposure to Adam, then I understand his opinion--and that's what it is--HIS OPINION. I thought he made some thoughtful statements. Why can't Clay have an opinion like everyone else? And, why would anyone think that he has to agree with our opinion or we agree with his???? How boring would that be?
This is about as tomey as I get.

I thought the e-online article was fine.

Are we fighting again???? And I MISSED it???!!!
Fuck.
On that note, there were two articles about AI in my newspaper today. Both make reference to Clay. The first article has a paragraph about Clay and talks about how the "national conversation has come a long way in the six years since singer Clay Aiken was dogged by rumors about his sexuality...." It's a good article.
"Idol" reinvigorates discourse on high profile gays
The second article also makes reference to the fact that you don't have to win to WIN, and points to Clay Aiken's success. I found a link for that at another site.

I love Adam, but that doesn't mean that Clay needs to love him too--and if all he had to judge by was Ring of Fire (OMG, that WAS awful), then I can see why he wasn't impressed. LOL. Clay is entitled to his opinion, just like everyone else.
Glad to hear he's out of the country.

wandacleo..what venue are you going to? I'm saving my entertainment dollars for the SYTYCD extravaganza. That one has sorta become a family tradition. It's a fun night out and the kids love it.
San Jose--HP Pavilion--on July 12.
OH, I LOVE SYTYCD too!! What month is that?

I have no idea in hell what Clay is up to.
I hope he's happy.
