i just got through for two. Anyone want one? -
Have to go with the puppy-dog eyes in #2. You know, the look the dog gives you when you just put another silly party hat on his head and told him to smile. So vulnerable.

Sorry, I don't like the new name. Nothing at all distinctive about it, it sounds like a million other orgs. or even worse, like a government agency -

The most important thing about classifying photos is to think "database" and not "flat file". It doesn't matter what the photo is called or where it is put as long as it is tagged in lots of different ways. That's the beauty of databases. There's no "shelf arrangement." You don't have to decide on just one or two attributes to use as access points. My suggestion would be just to go for it. If while you are looking at the photo and something jumps out at you, tag it. It is easier if you work from a set vocabulary of tags so you don't have several terms that mean the same thing eg smile, laugh, smirk, chuckle. It just makes it a bit simpler to search. -

Somewhere in my basement there is the issue of Life with the Jackson Five on the cover. Michael was about 8 in the picture IIRC. We found it in 1989 with a pile of magazines when I moved my Mother into a new house. I guess I should dig it out and make a zillion $$$$$$ on eBay. Nah, too much work to find it. -

True confessions time. I never listened to pop music in the 80s (or 70s or 90s). I wouldn't recognize a Michael Jackson song if it bit me. I only know Clay's versions. Your stories about his music and some of the news reporting (non-smarmy type) have moved me. I feel as if I missed a bit of history. I could have been living on the other side of the moon, for all I know about pop culture. Couchie, your nephew sounds like my son. When I owned a needlework shop, as a 10yr. old, he would help customers with needlepoint or cross stitch problems if I were busy! -

Very interesting, but it's way too late for me to make a coherent reply. Maybe I'll try in the morning. -

I don't think much can be worse than the lawsuit filed against the BAF by Clay fans. That was "legitimate" news, not just rumor & crap throwing. -

Thanks. I didn't think I had it right. They are very similar breeds. Scottish Border! Similar to the Skye Terrier. Boy, are there a lot of terriers out there. Must have been all the rats. -

I've had a brain fart and I'm too lazy to look it up, so I thought I'd just ask. What kind of terrier are Raleigh and Durham? The reason I'm asking is that I went to the local Humane Society yesterday to drop off a bunch of Lily's cast-offs and they had a batch of puppies from a puppy mill. Two of them were Carin Terriers and I couldn't remember if that was Clay's brand or not. Thanks for supporting an old memory bank. -

I have a question for all the musicians and real music lovers out there. To my very untrained ear, the bits that Clay sang sounded very simple, basic and predictable in musical terms. My thought is that I've gotten used to much more complex and nuanced music from Clay. Or it could be that it's just because they are only snippets of a whole song. Any comments???? I freely admit I don't really know the whole songs though I recognize the catch phrases. ETA Happy Day to all you Mothers out there! -

Couchie, was it only because I was really tired last night, or do all of David's arrangements sound the same? The cellstream was great, but sometimes it distorts things. It sounded to me like he was really banging away on the piano. Nothing subtle about it. -

So??? I asked a really stupid one and he answered it. I almost fell out of my chair due to the ICG on my face. It was my 2nd post at OFC - real postwhore over there! jamar, I think it counts. I'm doing UNICEF too. If I do the Gala, that's enough for BAF from me for one year. It's not that I'm cheap, just poor & retired. -

I wonder who we have to bribe to get what was left on the cutting room floor? Maybe we should tell Tyra to auction them off at the next TBAF Gala. -

Thanks for the answers. It made me wonder seeing the models eat Thanksgiving dinner, plus we know the general time-frame that Clay did his taping. I'd guess that in a show like this a lot of the time is spent in editing to get the juiciest bits and making sure that the model going home always has a piece saying that she's the best in that episode! -

I have a question about reality shows. I know AI is shown in "real time". There is actually a week between episodes. Does anyone know the schedule for other reality shows like ANTM, the Apprentice, Amazing Race etc. etc? I don't watch a lot of them, but it seems to me that they could film two, maybe even three episodes a week. Because of the learning curve, I would guess that SYTYCD and DWS are done in real time. Any thoughts? -
