  1. After reading all the posts since I went nighty-night...I'm very glad I didn't go where ever you guys were reading. I probably would have gotten smacked upside the head for being a smartass. Has anyone ever equated this fandom to a major bi-polar episode? It seems to cycle far faster than most bi-polars but the highs and lows are still there. I've never seen a group where the happy lasts about as long as it takes for the credits to roll. Perhaps we can give them all a big prosac lick. Big HI to skybar!!!
  2. Has anyone watched the behind the scenes stuff with Sasha and Clay....WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too cute for words. She even says at one point..."you're so cute". CV has it in the vault and I don't have a clue how to bring over the link...sorry.
  3. Use emoticons in e-mail? I am usually pretty serious when I e-mail. My Texas friend uses them and no matter what I do, they don't post. I'm just wondering what I'm doing wrong. I love that one....
  4. Definitely agree with that statement. Very few, if any, of his fans have a real "expertise" on how to be Clay Aiken or what his career path should be...I have no illusions that he is much smarter than me about the entertainment world.
  5. Ok, how do you use emoticons from your photobucket account in your email?
  6. What am I missing? What's a 'Thrum' person? And why is it squick worthy? dancermom always says Clay makes her "thrum"....in all the girly places. Now, I have no problem with saying I had to change my underoos/panties during intermission but there is just something about "thrum" that bothers me... I'm weird...I'm willing to be the first to admit it. Oh. I see. It IS interesting, isn't it, what squicks some and tantalizes others? Personally, I have no girly places. I have womanly places. But yes....Clay is quite good at making them thr....er, experience pleasant sensations. I call it my crotch, but hey, that's just me! I may have some odd name attachment issues with the word, dunno...

  8. I don't ever say anything back to the hair haters 'cause...well...it wouldn't do a bit of good and I, personally, don't find hair worth killing a horse for. I think I'm not a well known person in the fandom because I keep my distance and I don't respond to most posts, negative or positive. I'm not an "EEEEEEE-er" or a "Thrum" person....that word actually squicks me out a bit. I read everything....I just don't feel the need to respond to either the overly positive or the (what I see as) overly negative. It bugs me but not enough to call someone out over it....'cause....really it's all about me and my opinion! :lmaosmiley-1:
  9. Some should be ashamed of the things they wrote on that blog...including a couple from my former home board. Sheesh..talk about an over reaction. I still hope he did it intentionally 'cause that's just the type of nasty person I am but I'm pretty sure it was an accident. muski, what you did and said you did out of love. I think there is a huge difference. I don't think these people find it hard at all to rip Clay to shreds if they think they can get away with it. They say they are doing it out of love...I don't buy it. There is one person (who is easy to pick out since her opinion of his hair is well known) that I can't believe acts like she does on the boards...honestly...I don't know how she stays married OR has a relationship with her kids. She is cold....
  10. I've never understood the need to say the same "critical" thing a number of times. I always want to post: "WE GET IT, YOU DIDN'T LIKE HIS HAIR!!!!" I think the difference between constructive criticism and bullying is in the number of times you say it and how many minds you think you can change....
  11. Thanks. I can't believe it. I didn't even know she had the same blood type. I'm trying very hard to keep my expectations low but just the idea that she would step up makes me all kinds of schmoopy. It's a big committment. Her hubby said he knew why she wanted to do it and that he would support her 100%.....
  12. I just got a call that one of my friends is being tested to see if her kidney is compatible!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in shock....I had no idea she was even thinking about it. Talk about a belated Christmas present. (tears of stunned surprise)
  13. Couchie, I've missed more things than I've seen of Clay...and I've also gone places that I had no business going just because I thought it was the thing to do. Buffalo JBT, for example. It was great fun and I loved the concert but the idea of flying somewhere for no more than a couple of days really makes no sense to me now. I don't travel with people....I tried that twice and both times were complete nightmares....complete. I am traveling with my friend from Texas but I've spent time at her house with her hubby and I know she and I are kindred spirits. I stayed with another friend in Cary last summer. It was the first time meeting her and we had a great time but, quite honestly, the cost was not something I should have incurred. So, if I go some place I usually go by myself. That is what it is, too. I have not invested time into many people on the boards mainly because no one lives around me. Texas is the closest....well...except for the two crazies from Lincoln and I'm not going anywhere with either of them. Dividing the cost makes it workable....paying full price sucks.
  14. Ok. I don't have the financial means to follow Clay like some can. You are all very lucky to be able to do that. I'm still not sure I would if I had the money and the time....it is what it is. I am so excited to be able to go to NYC at all...it isn't something that would ever work out if it hadn't been for winter break....so I guess I will cherish my time and enjoy my shows and know that I got to do something not everyone will get to do. If I offended anyone with anything I said, my apologies...that was not my intent. I'm off to do some real life things. Peace.
  15. I believe the word I used was consecutive shows. I don't think there's anything wrong with going to multiple shows, as I think I said about 10 times...I'm just a bit surprised at going to consecutive shows. I truly didn't intend this to be a thing to argue about....it's truly not worth it to me. I don't think anyone has to justify anything to me nor I to them. If you want to go to every show for the first week or the first month or the first 5 months...have at it. I still won't understand it but it's your money, your time and your decision. Not understanding it isn't the same as saying you shouldn't do it or that my way is better than yours.
  16. PermaSwooned, I could quote your whole post but I just want to say that I agree with you. I heard the "imperfections" in DSIAFCD but it didn't take away my enjoyment of the song. I also wondered if his voice wasn't tired from practicing. I sing for 2 hrs on Sunday and my speaking voice is hoarse...if I had to sing for another hour, I'm guessing I'd start to hear the same hoarseness in my singing. Why would he have been on Prednisone? Did we hear anything that would make that a possibility? I'm really feeling like a heathen about not seeing Clay more than once, movie or theater,....I hope my name isn't added to the bad fan list. :clay:
  17. No, I wouldn't. The only time I see a movie a second time is if I see it on HBO. I won't even rent movies I've seen before. I'm not going just because Clay is in the show....I'm going because Clay is in the show AND it's a chance for me to get back to NYC with a friend from Texas...and it worked into my schedule since it's during my winter break from school. If I had to go by myself, I wouldn't go at all.
  18. Hey, muski, a take off on the fits like a glove deal...if it don't fit, use a little spit. Live theater is so wonderful for a reason...it's LIVE!! As I said, I saw Richard Harris screw up in Camelot and he looked right at the audience and said "aint live theater grand!!" I so agree. Had he not said something, I wouldn't have known. The thing I like best is we won't know whether or not he screwed up....unless he flubs his lines so bad he has to walk off the stage. I'm guessing his Random Lyric Generator will work just as well with lines...just as long as he gets the cues for other peoples' lines in the right spots! Hehe! We did Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at our community theater. One of the cool things we had was a motorized sheep..a little, teeny-tiny sheep on a remote control car. The pianist came up to me and said, "Jean, people can see the race car". I looked at her and said, "do you think they believe the sheep is real?" We both got a good laugh out of that. Suspension of reality...that's what I love most about live theater. Waiting to see Clay step out of his Clayness and into Sir Robin is so exciting...I can't wait!
  19. Perhaps that is the difference, I haven't gone just once. I think I mentioned that perhaps I'd feel differently if I hadn't seen the show already. I'd seen MammaMia 4 times and still went to it when I took my sister to NYC for her 50th birthday. I'm not against seeing shows more than once, believe me. I'm in NYC for 3 days....I will get to see Spamalot and Young Frankenstein while there....that's cramming quite a bit in considering I'll get in late Friday and leave early Monday.
  20. I can see I touched on a subject that I should have kept my mouth shut about...my apologies. I'll shut up now.
  21. I'm flying clear across the country, too...I guess I'm just in a different place with seeing him...once will be enough for me. Perhaps if I hadn't seen the show already, I'd feel different....I dunno. I am going to see Clay but I am not going just to see Clay...the show is a big draw for me. I love Broadway, too.
  22. I just looked at the list of people going on opening night and the next 3 nights after that...WTH? These tickets are not cheap...I know I've seen the show twice but I just can't imagine going to it on 3 or 4 consecutive nights. I know people go to many, many concerts in a row but I always thought that was because ya never knew how he would change it up...I don't think that's gonna happen in this show. I guess I don't understand that mind set....and I wish I had their money! Ouch! I wonder if any of the people going to consecutive shows are going to see anything else while there?
  23. I didn't feel like there was anything in the show that a non-MP person wouldn't get...I haven't seen a lot of Monty Python stuff and I still laughed myself sick. The second time was even better than the first. I saw it in Houston last summer and it seemed like the guys and I were the only ones laughing outloud....in Denver it was a less subdued crowd and the whole place was nuts. I really think it's a lot of fun. Play, I know you're right but I'm guessing it will be less about Clay and more about disliking the show. I would bet most will say it is beneath Clay to be in such a "off color" production. That's what is going to bug me. Being in "My Fair Lady" or "Les Miz" would be more his caliber, ya know, even though he is an unknown entity on the Broadway stage.
