  1. I've had that happen to me 2 or 3 times. Try this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810978

OK, when I did the second step on the page, I got an error when trying to remove the file that said "unknown", so something wonky. I'm going to reboot and if I still get the .bmp thing, I'll try the move the temp folder thing. BTW, I think that the link would not apply to Vista users (which I'm not, I have XP Pro).

canfly, I uploaded all of keepingfaith's gif's here (Right-click&oh,you-know-the-drill). I hope this works for you.

    Yes, that works. :thbighug-1:

Thanks but I can't ask you to go around saving all of the animations and emotes on various boards that don't show up as gifs for me now can I, lol?

    :cryingwlaughter:

    Can I?

    :lilredani:

If they're of the cute one, yes 'coz I want them too!

Have you tried another browser, eg. Firefox?

  3. Did I make GA-FCA? No? Awww. Well, GE then!

    :GE_FCA:

(sorry, not caught up -- what's available for $3.99?) Found it! [tm:cute knight]

    HBD, justclay12!!!

    :happybirthday02:

ETA: Thanks for the shoutout on the mp4's, liney!!! :thankyou: BTW, in case there are any XviDs that I forgot to make mp4's of, please let me know. I'll be working on files while cleaning pretending to clean this weekend because a couple of people requested the rest of the Erie 2007 concert (where he sang the Bach part at the end of OHN). I try to make mp4's straight from the HD files because multiple conversions can reduce clarity a bit (well, ok, not by much but it still gets me).

  4. Whew! First night I got home by 7pm this week. I was going to complain about my workweek but I read back a bit and saw Permaswooned's post.

    {{{Permaswooned}}} :thbighug-1:

I still feel tired and sleepy but at least I didn't work hard this afternoon. It was our deparment team-building event so we had lunch at the ballpark and then we got to see the Astros play the Cubs. I only stayed until the blown save at the top of the ninth; I see from google that we eventually won in 13 innings. It sounds whiny but I would have preferred a "normal work" day because I would have been able to reset through my lunch hour and/or closed the door at various times during the day; schmoozing & small talk can be just as tiring as real work especially when you're fighting sleepiness.

I wrote a couple more blogs over the last couple of days. The Pool Boy visits Sally's. Oh......and in case your Danish is a little rusty, for the second one, I should illustrate......"fuld pakken"

    25.jpg

Love your blog and thanks for the picture!!! We need it on this page too. BTW, does anyone have a comparable shot of Tampa 104?

Can I :yeahthat: to the last few pages? And :tasty: to the gifs!

I have a picture request (I don't think there's a gif for it). I think it's a tour photo of Clay from the SRHPT where he has his arms folded and he's looking at the camera with one hand out with the palm up. I can't think of the word to describe it... sort of a "what do you think'' gesture, perhaps? Wish I could remember more about it other than that (and that Clay's brow might be knitted...) Anyone wanna take a shot on such a sketchy description?

Well, I'm pretty sure this isn't it, but it vaguely fits the description, and he was so CUTE!!!

    353006708_ndRVg-L.jpg

Thanks for the cute picture too!

Hey, at least it's your older daughter. My youngest graduates high school today, and my middle child graduates college next week. Heh, I feel old. All 3 kids are continuing on to higher education, so we aren't out of the woods for at least another 3 years. OMG. :Ahh: Fingers crossed that their OSAP applications get accepted. (provincial student loans)
lucky & muski, just keep telling everyone that you raised some very precocious children.

and good luck to everyone who has graduating family members this summer :)
Good luck to all the people wherever they'll go!

Since it's quiet I decided to think out loud. And no......it doesn't hurt! :cryingwlaughter:

I'm curious. I can't help but wonder how so many Clay fans can be equally or similarly OTT or at least engaged in following someone like he who shall not be named (that's for you, merrieeee :o) ) hee

I mean, I find the interest overlapping sooo perplexing! He is almost the anti-Clay and if he were the last singer/entertainer on the planet I wouldn't cross the street to see him much less throw my money at him. I can only imagine what that money may end up going towards. But even if it weren't about that, he just plain offends me. Clay is so much more of a real man IMO. Not afraid to stand alone for the underdog. The children in danger around the world or children with special needs here at home, or even just out actively and continuously supporting local community arts programs. There is nothing glamorous or cool about his causes. Clay Aiken is a gentelman. An unlikely sex symbol; a nerd and a family man. Not to mention a truly original vocalist. Not a poser or a wannabe rock star forming his persona, carving his image from some 1980's bedroom poster. How is it possible we can admire or lust after these two simultaneously? And I read so much about the "charisma"!? WTF? I mean Clay IMO is loaded to the teeth with the stuff, but this other guy? I can't seem to get past the greasy smarm enough to tell if there is anything closely resembling it. Oh well, I just thought I'd toss that out there. I apologize if this post makes anyone uncomfortable. That is not my intent. It is only my mind at work and a thought that boggles me!! meh

    YMMV

The one time I ended up watching the unnamed one I didn't "connect" at all, even though (it turned out that) the performance I saw was supposed to be one of his better ones. Not my cup of tea.

About people liking both, I guess there will be some who will assume that they lead similar lives nowadays. Since September, most of the "news" has always been about a jetsetting life - car-buying, expensive clothes, fancy parties and hotels. We know better and we believe. However, the trouble with good PR is that it is so similar to other people's good PR. A couple of years ago, I started watching the news blurbs and op-eds that were written about the company I work for because I was surprised by a group of ads that seemed so Clay Aiken-like to me. They spoke of many of the items you enumerated above, treenuts, family values, caring for children, protecting those in danger, education for women, supporting local arts programs, etc. The series of ads were even predominantly white and Carolina blue. These types of ads only increased since then, eg. this year Carrie Underwood's trip to Angola got prominently featured. How can a newbie or outsider tell the difference?

I don't think a person's core changes very much but PR can't be used to explain or define one's core to others. In a world where just about anything can be explained away (/understood and condoned) by personal taste or individual circumstance, is there room for universal and eternal values? Can people believe that some things do not change and if they can, how can those things be communicated and used to define identity?

  5. Finally home... ok, when y'all decide to have our dinner with kimiye tomorrow instead of tonight it would be good to know at noon or something? (yes, I should check my text messages, but I was too busy checking the board, and not my inbox)

Still, it's good to look forward to tomorrow!

    Great post, keepingfaith!!!

    :GE_FCA:

ETA: And thanks for not posting the new name of the foundation. Would rather wait...

  6. I'm amazed because I know she had no idea about the connection but last Saturday we all got KAndre to pick the restaurant for kimiye's dinner tonight. We said, "Pick one and just pm us the time and place." Well of all the thousands of eating places in and around Houston (and yes we have lots because we're supposed to be the city where people eat out the most), she goes and picks the exact same one Clay did for a recent fan thingy. And need I remind you that this is the same person who chose to go to Paris on the same day as you-know-who? *cue in Twilight Zone music*

I think we should start a thread to ask KAndre all our questions while the cute guy's out-of-pocket, since she and Clay would probably give the same answers anyway...

Oh mighty one... How many vacation days should I set aside this year? Where should we fly on our next vacation (and please don't say Buenos Aires in July)? What's your favorite color? I know you said to just ask questions but do you know how much we adore you? And do you like <insert random long narrative that explains the questioner's connection to this thing she's asking and/or long list of achievements and excellent traits of said questioner>? Oh, and I have no question but I just wanted to wish you a nice day! Question1 quickly followed by Question2 followed by Question3 and Questions4,5,6...10? Why did you answer

to such-and-such question? Do you know that I really, really adore you?!!...
  7. Finally home! This week is looking a lot like last week. Thanks goodness we have a dinner with kimiye tomorrow!!! Hi, FCA!

    :helloFCA:

    Any news from :clay: ?

ETA: Welcome back chacha Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures! Hope you feel better soon, 00lsee! :thbighug-1:

    ETAA: Favor!!!

jmh, do you still have that spreadsheet of all the songs that Clay has ever sung? Is it online someplace?

  8. *waves enthusiastically at Zena/Lena* So glad to see you posting again. I have been missing you and your "twin" Lena since I'm working on a system in the North Sea and have been delighted to meet computer people with names straight out of Ibsen.

eHP... you guys seem to have so much fun. Is that legal???? :whistling-1:

    Lol, liney. Just barely... :hahaha:

Welcome back, clayzycoffin! I also own a rolling bag instead of a backpack but it came with a computer sleeve. Maybe you also find a backpack with one, to get the best of both worlds?

    :GE_FCA:

    :offtobed:

  9. Can't do Thai this week (anyhoo, aren't we meeting up with Kimiye at Linda's? Somebody call me tonight) - family issues abound. And I turned into a great-aunt yesterday. And am horrified. I must go out and do something hootchy immediately.

So... when your friend says she's going to do something hootchy but asks you to call her that night, how much lead time would you give so that you don't make the call at an inappropriate moment? Is 8pm local time ok?

*cmon, KAndre! We need to plan sleepovers...*

BTW, I became a great aunt while I was in grade school, no big deal. Blame the generation spread.

    :POSTHO:

ps. btw, my inbox is full.

  10. Thanks for all the pretties, Kareneh and Permaswooned! :BlowKiss:

So, kimye is in town and there is talk of Thai food? Come on over here, I bet I know someone who knows how to whip up something really tasty. I have about 50 pairs of chopsticks in the kitchen drawer, too. Bring your own bowls....my stuff is still in a warehouse. I wanna have dinner with my eHP!!

No delivery date yet but it IS in Copenhagen. With nothing much left to do until it gets here, I've been work on more pix. I finished the ones from the Knoxville show of the SRHPT and uploaded them. I discovered a bunch of Houston ones that needed to be uploaded and now, I realize that I never did look at the ones from Asheville. I don't know what was going on with me then....clueless or what?

    Knoxville Gallery

I've been keeping up with the old blog, too. Sally's Bored....(Duh! I fixed the link.)

Ooooh, there's heat and more in Elsinore!!! We'll find some good use for the chopsticks... :cryingwlaughter:

Kareneh, if we're at merrieeee's during daytime hours over there, do you want to do a Skype partycert?

I just stopped at home briefly to find my hooded jacket and socks. I'm going to the Greek Theatre tonight to see Prairie Home Companion ***waves at ldyj

It should be a great show...the guests tonight are Martin Sheen (who loves to do the skits and has been there the last 3 years), k.d. lang & Sheryl Crow. I sure wish it was Clay, though. That was such a wonderful night.

Perma, I thought Prairie Home Companion is tomorrow night? Is it taped? Have fun & pls say hi to ychrome!

So glad to be home early enough to this (well the sun's still up anyways):

    :GA_FCA:

ETA: LOL, bottle! We need supplies!!!

  11. I am here what questions do you have?

I was just lurking because I was in awe of Keeping Faith's post! and I surprisingly was left speechless

Oh, I said the cute one, not the cutest one! :P

Yes, kf's post is a keeper!!! Maybe we can condense it to Thread-title length? Anyone? Bueller?!!

ETA: Oh, I see both kf and KAndre down there! How about some more Thai tomorrow or anytime soon?

  12. I'm too tired to think. Thank goodness I have kf (well-said!!!) to think for me!!! I think I already put in over 50 hours this week and it's only Thursday. So I'll just wish you all a good evening and lurk in and out tonight -- well, unless the cute one starts sending questions or requests again.

    Love you all!!! MUAH! :BlowKiss:

    :GE_FCA:

OT: Wonder what sort of supper will take the least effort to make? I don't have microwaveables, but I do have canned stuff. Maybe vienna sausages, Rotel & scrambled eggs? Is that the simplest "complete" one? I already had ice cream for dinner last night and I shouldn't probably shouldn't have it twice in a row. (well, technically it was dessert because I had lunch for supper). Oh, why not ice cream? it's technically whole milk and fruits.

    ETA:

    :lovebutt:

  13. All packed up and ready to go! Now just have to wake both son and hubby up and get them out the door and in the car. See y'all in Louisiana and Texas! Many of you have my cell number, but you can also follow our journey on Twitter or Facebook. My Twitter id is kimiye, and it's public for this trip.

Of course, if Clay breaks news today (or wind or a leg), somebody call me!

Have a safe trip here, kimiye! Can't wait to see you!!!

BTW, if you don't have discounted tickets for the Xian terracotta warriors exhibit, let me know. I can get them for $15.
