  1. Michael Landon was in a show before Little House on the Prairie? Sorry! Oh, I forgot about Frasier -- loved that we never really saw Maris, (and we probably wouldn't have anyway if she's been standing sideways) ETA: ldyjocelyn, if I had to watch a reality where Clay's not on, it would be TAR. Solo and PerusingOne even went to a TARcon during a Spamalot weekend last year.
  2. Couchie, does this include mini-series or are those in another category? I could post a cool list like: Firefly, Fawlty Towers and TNG, but the list of shows I used to watch in real time are probably in that TV Show Medley of his... (Who's the Boss, Welcome Back Kotter, Golden Girls, etc) A few more favorites that aren't there: - Little House on the Prairie - MASH - special mention of Hill Street Blues for the Captain and for the theme song which I liked better than TWW ETA: gg, yes I know I should be working instead of hanging here... leaving now (but I'll have some ice cream first) ETAA: And my current favorite which I can't watch in real time but only through the DVD's from kimiye -- Big Bang Theory. I also liked Pushing Daisies when I chanced upon it.
  3. Ok, so there haven't been too many of these so I'll add another.... "I teach all mah men to rub their meat" ~ Paula to Clay on Paula's Party Good one, treenuts!! How about one from Clay, too? Looking forward to it! (just kidding, this one was good actually!!!) *high-five*
  4. Nevermind... Scarlett :thbighug-1: I should just go work on those videos you sent. Watching clack is such a chore.
  5. Ooooh... the smell of napalm and non-Clay news! On the same happy note, all the Frisco XviDs and mp4 clips have been uploaded here. Have a nice Sunday! :nature-smiley-014:
  6. That's what I thought it was about when I saw the size of the fonts used (hee, I said size), and so now I'm kinda down...
  7. I can never open (after I download of course) the MP4 files. Do you have Quickltime installed? no a lot of recommendations came up but I wasn't sure which one was safe and/or good. tribeca, You could also view them on an iPhone-type device or use a Mac. On a PC, the Quicktime drivers should be safe enough to install. ETA: You're v. welcome, luckiest! Last batch coming up.. Have fun with the puppy!
  8. I can never open (after I download of course) the MP4 files. Do you have Quickltime installed?
  9. Welcome to your new one, luckiest!!! Awww, glad you found her (or did she find you?) Have fun!!!
  10. I found Solo's Frisco tapes this morning -- I didn't tell her that the real reason I hadn't rendered them was because I didn't know where they were. Will be sending them to CH/CV/CU later this evening but for those who are in a hurry, these are mp4's and XviD's. Please check the time stamps and get only the files that haven't changed in the last 5 minutes, as I'm still uploading. Enjoy! 070704_Frisco_Solo&Scarlett
  11. Are y'all talking in code here? When I still listened to the radio (years ago), it was a "family show" and so people would talk about "going bowling last night" instead of, uh, other things. Nowadays, DJ's say things right out but I guess that makes sense. What's the point in beating around the bush if the songs you play have all the words in them anyway. Personally, I find the level of innuendo from the cute guy a lot more exciting. ETA: Last time, I asked about movie quotes. Here's a better game. What's your favorite "double entendre" from concerts/interviews/articles?
  12. Who are all these people you guys are talking about? I only watched Season2, Fantasy & Solitaire on Season 3 and a delayed Season 5 Finale.
  13. ...late to the party, well this one, since I was at KAndre's earlier tonight -- calamari was scrumptious! Clay and Anjin-san in the same place, swoon! Favorite Richard Chamberlain video, And for your consideration....the last of Solo's Minneapolis files. They're special because Solo's clips are great, supersteady and well-framed, and because we know his Mom and Jaymes were there & this was in late December 2007 in Minnesota...(so his entire family could have been there)... the first part is already up on CH/CV/CU (from last year) since I wanted to get "Welcome to Our World" uploaded in time. 071220 Minneapolis 2nd Set (XviDs and mp4's)
  14. Not completely caught up but yay for a nice blog and congratulations, couchie! Way to go!!! And thanks to the angel who texted me (on 2 different numbers) as well as read it over the phone!!! :thankyou! ETA: And I forgot to add that the Waukegan 07 Xvid and mp4 files are here.
  15. Sorry about that. I just offloaded Pala because I'm running Waukegan -- These are also nice because he starts too early in MDYK and then too late in MCWL and it's the one with stories from PA & Told4Clay. But when the Waukegan clips finish -- I only have 9 because someone "told on me' and I got shut down on WTOW. What we have is great, though -- I'll put back the Pala main file and check to see if the MOAM glitch was on the tape. *crosses fingers that it was just me* Thanks a lot. I'm just on the TV medley anyway so I have a few to go before I need to worry about MOAM. New MOAM files have been uploaded: XviD mp4 mp3 The master file was ok so yes, I did it. Way to go, anna!
  16. Ahh ok. So there was one in MOAM but I believe LAA is good. Thanks for confirming. Scarlett when you come around, can you see if that blip is in the tape or the processing? Thanks a bunch. Sorry about that. 17. To those downloading the Pala clips, all the XviDs we're going to have are there now and the last 2 of the mp4's are uploading (when the size doesn't change in a couple of minutes, it's done). I'm very sorry to take this long, gg, I know I shouldn't have been watching/re-watching them yesterday, just wasn't thinking. Also, I hope I got the name of my seatmate right -- she's the one who took the Classics Medley and it's somewhat obvious that I forgot to show her how to zoom; she had to keep pointing to various places onstage instead of zooming out. That was my fault. I put her name down as kococepelli but if anyone can verify, please let me know so that we can update. The other venues should go much faster than Pala. Again, sorry about the time -- I'll probably use another vacation day midweek since I don't know where the weekend went. Thanks to all who responded with quotes, we had some great ones! Kimiye, what a find! ETA: I forgot to re-post the link to the Pala clips. Oh, and the mp4's are done so everything's there that's going to be there.
  18. liney, thanks you're heaven-sent! Independence Day was fun! jmh, that series too! chacha, the quote was in the prologue of the Hitchhiker's guide but maybe it was repeated later on. Lol on the flying instructions! Glad to see that many here have known The Hitchiker's Guide for years. I love those books and I don't group them with my other SF ones. I'd call them humorous inspirational in an SF setting. Keepingfaith, thanks. Those quotes were good to read and very timely!
  19. Lol! I prefer the Die Hard Villains... Simon Peter Gruber: [W]ould a deal be out of the question? Lt. John McClane : Yeah, I got a deal for ya. Crawl out from under that rock you're hiding under and I'll drive this truck up your ass. Simon Peter Gruber: How . . . colorful. Hans Gruber: Uh, no, I'm afraid not. But, you have me at a loss. You know my name but who are you? Just another American who saw too many movies as a child? Another orphan of a bankrupt culture who thinks he's John Wayne? Rambo? Marshal Dillon? John McClane: Was always kinda partial to Roy Rogers actually. I really like those sequined shirts. Hans Gruber: Do you really think you have a chance against us, Mr. Cowboy? John McClane: Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker.
  20. Internet things... Most stuff I pass over. The biggies I agonize about but I try to be considerate and not do the agonizing all over the boards, just posting only when I've come to a good place with myself. I think it's because I try to look at things from all angles, or as my friends put it, "Scarlett sleeps with everyone." Yes I tend to do that, sometimes literally (/jk), most times not, but I talk to anyone and everyone because for some reason people feel comfortable talking to me. (Downside of this - when I'm on a potential jury group, the plaintiff and the defendant both think I'll be sympathetic to their cause so I get picked 100% of the time) I remember having a nice chat with someone sitting nearby at the Atlanta 2005 JNT, but when I declined her invitation to a post-concert dinner she hurried away. Solo later asked me, "What in the word were you doing talking to OFC-revolving-cross-<edited>?!!" I said,"Oh, is that who she was? We were just talking and she invited me to dinner with her group but I guess I scared her when I told her I'd signed up for the <boardname> party." My views are usually far, far away from this person's but I think everyone deserves to be heard. So I try and see every side of things especially when I know a lot of people are affected. I don't want to be persuaded by anger from "the other side" or well-meaning pressure, but pressure nonetheless, from people "on my side" of the fence. And besides I don't like fences. And labels (like y'all know). I think I'll go with the hat theory. A character in a play I saw said that she had developed a whole philosophy based on hats but never explained it. I assume it had to do with people being free to put on whatever hat they felt like on any given day, which is not such a bad idea. I also try (though I'm hardly ever successful) to be independent of but mindful of others without letting go of myself, so that in the end my choices are my own and I'm the only one accountable for them. People are people, and that's why we have message boards and blogs and all these online social structures as well as flaming and fan wars and board crises. If we were all computers, we would just send packets back and forth in the standard protocols. Oooh, how about another game. What is your favorite movie, tv or book-character quote? (anyone remember where these came from?)
  21. Old habits...I'm about to smut here (canfly not clay) so scroll if it's offensive... justclay12, hon, please avert your eyes, k? So canfly, I don't quite remember this. Did I really shoot some on yours and then on the second half you used mine? It must have been the crablegs. That was the night I met PerusingOne's sister. We went to a crab place for dinner and people were ordering dainty stuff since we were about to go to a concert but I said I wasn't going to make an exception so I ordered the works complete with mallet and bib. But seriously, CF, we need to prioritize. It's been a slow morning. I shouldn't watch while working on the clips but Pala just lightens everything. HBD, gibby!!!
  22. I would wait for the luckiest1&goldarngirl montages to truly enjoy Pala but for those who'd like a quick peek back, these are a couple of clips I have up & will be sending to CU. I only started at the TV Medley because someone *clears throat* was out drinking with other FCA'ers and forgot to pick me up at the airport until it was LA rushhour. http://www.stripedsocksirens.com/members/S...ay/070803_Pala/
  23. Awww, the yellow room! *memories* Ok, it's Monday at Huynh's then! (merrieeee, sorry but let's have dinner nearby instead) And yay for the good news on your "nightmare"! :thbighug-1: I had my own equivalent "nightmare" at work over the last 2 days. This was supposed to be an easy non-techie job and I thought KAndre would love it as it is great practice for World Domination: handling transportation, accommodations and catering for people in various sites worldwide, imagine some massive army deployment. We do it through a vendor's commercial program so no problem, right? Well, a month ago we rolled out at a site and the person over there (she was new too) called me the other day to let me know me that the flight manifest was wrong, and had been wrong for 5 years. It's that piece of paper that pilots use to estimate fuel and plan flight paths, etc. This is critical because we have helicopters and small planes landing in various tiny spots all over the ocean, picking up and dropping people and cargo along the way and the frigging manifest didn't compute things right (you know, like adding the weight of the people who got on at a place and subtracting the cargo that got dropped, etc)! It's tough enough to stand up on a floating helipad in rough seas, but landing on it without an idea on how heavily loaded your aircraft is is ridiculous. These are tiny planes where the difference between 4 and 6 passengers is significant -- think of the planes in those old movies. People were having to do their own manual calculations. And the vendors of this product? Hah, they'll fix it in version 1.9 which they will release in beta about 6 months from now (in Microsoft/Dell/Hp-speak that's 1 year). So, in the most non-techie job I ever held, I just spent 2 days writing Oracle code to write a report that looks like the manifest except that the numbers are right. *grumbles to the world in general* I'd forgotten about that -- yes we have "canfly&Scarlett" clips. (No, I'm not reading anything into that -- besides it's justclay12 I'm following now ) I need to get you the rest of your clips -- you did the 2nd half of the show, right? (*sigh, sometimes I wish I had a twin with another camera like that just so we could render in tandem*). SecretlyLovesClay was my "sister" in the clackdom from way back in the IT but we never ended up doing a clip together. We named ourselves after the travelling videocams because she also lent hers to people -- I was her courier who gave her camera to Marilyn (laughingoutloud) in Valdosta. Pala:
  24. (and even though he sounds "different" from CD to CD, it's always just wonderful)
