  1. Thank you so much, jmh and Rockys mom! You two are the sweetest!!! I love the bright afternoon colors on this one: And the sunset tones on the evening one are gorgeous: I know this is for all of FCA but I want to adopt it: And there's probably a long line to adopt this one as well: Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! ETA: It's 80° F at your house, Lotus? That's exactly the same as KAndre's -- except that she has it year-round!... maybe you should grow orchids... then again, I hear the Oval Office is the same way... luckiest1, now your house is the one I want to match temperature-wise! Oh and I discovered in Vegas that Couchie and I are good matches for room temperature, yay!!! Is it too early to find roommates for the Gala? Oh wait, I think most of the ehP is going to that one.
  2. Yay, finally got through the traffic! I'm so hungry and sleepy and I need to get caught up on the threads and I've been wanting to use these from Rockys mom: (wonder which I'll do first?) Thanks for bringing them, jmh! Can she also do a 'Good afternoon/evening' for those days we can't log on until 6pm?
  3. Finally home, I thought this day would never end!!! And I have a very early (6:30am) start tomorrow. Yikes! Hee, Caro! The arguing back and forth and all the polls make no difference. People know who to link, quote and tag. Congratulations luckiest son & smitten!!! {{{preden}}} Hang in there! :thbighug-1: ETA: Happy for you bottle. No packages so far for me, and I signed up twice!
  4. aikim, glad to see you back and congratulations to the parents-in-law!!! Happy to hear that the countdown will continue. We miss the cute guy! And this one too .
  5. Posted this at CV. It seems that E!Online has a poll and has filed it appropirately.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isn't it cute that at the bottom of that article & poll, you see this announcement: "filed under TOP STORIES, REALITY TV, POLLS, CLAY AIKEN, FEUDS, AMERICAN IDOL"? (bolding mine) Something missing? How many headlines does it take to warrant your own file? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ETA: Oh, what a nice banner!!!
  6. I literally just got out of bed and I'm running very late for services but would like to greet everyone good morning! Yes, ldyj, I hope aikim and her family are ok. The weather's nice and clear in Chicago today. Last time we missed the countdown there was a huge snowstorm. Hope everyone's fine. :nature-smiley-014: Good morning, FCA! ETA: Sigh! Decided that driving recklessly downtown to services & getting my guardian angels and those of everyone else out on 59 all terrified is not the way to spend a Sunday morning. Will drive leisurely to the community lunch instead. Hope everyone's having a nice day!
  7. Thanks for the beautiful pictures, Permaswooned! Loved that night and that entire weekend!!! And thanks for the link to your gorgeous album, Kareneh! ps. I meant to post a thank you for you on the previous thread, underthespell. Thanks for sharing about the quote below. & :thbighug-1: ETA: K, I see you down there. See xoaustin's post about Sausalito at the CH. I remember exactly the place she was talking about.
  8. Thanks, Permaswooned!!! And thanks for the reminder too. (from the previous post) EYATA: Why did I keep typing Grand Rapids when I was thinking Council Bluffs? Maybe it has something to do with Kareneh's pictures from that show in 2006. Anyone have some of those goodies on file? EOLTTA: Yikes, Grand Rapids was on my PM. That guy's going to think his fans can't tell Michigan from Iowa. *cries* I know my geography but only when he's not making video requests.
  9. BTW, as I was typing out Grand Rapids on the list I thought it was strange that he left out Iowa. ETA: Aww, I forgot about the 3 Beacon shows (one with my favorite growly Emmanuel) ETAA: Thanks, jamar. I didn't see his follow-up at first.
  10. Page 1?!!! Wheeee! Not quite caught up yet but I skimmed and made some nice notes about mp4's. Hmmm... and webMistresses... Would love to see that mailer, K & K!!! ps. Someone should ask Clay, does he want it in mp4's?!!! ETAA: Hee, luckiest, so did I. I can't believe I just offered to send him mp4's on a flashdrive. (no, just kidding. I couldn't make myself type mp4) But I did offer XviDs in case that's what he wanted. Unfortunately, I offered him XviDs of shows that I haven't even rendered yet so if ever he wants them, it'll probably set a speed record for fastest rendering time ever.
  11. it's a matter of taking whatever openings present themselves. sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's hard. always a thrill! such is life. HBD, 00lsee & jumpingjacks!
  12. I still can't understand the 500-character limit on blog comments. How does he expect us to squeeze everything in, keep it lean and uh, handle it, *mutters, this is all Kareneh's fault...* er, be succinct. Kareneh, ROTFL! Loved the blog!!! Maybe KAndre can send you some bloody spork pictures to stencil all over the front door. (Better yet, if you're brainstorming on ways to finance the next tour/show/whatever-he's-up-to, just give us a holler & the ehP could come over for a Grand Reopening!!!) HBD, clayzycoffin!!!
  13. When I saw the tag I thought Red Bank 2006 and was confused since that didn't look like the 2006 Christmas tour. Thanks for clarifying!
  14. Remembering the heroes on this Memorial Day... Thanks for the blog link, Caro! I really enjoyed his performance at the Capitol. And thanks for the tips on the different Memory performances, beryl.
  15. A bunch of folks like that as well. Will you share? 's are made to share.... *gets up and fetches a fresh round for jamar and everyone else* I see you down there, kimiye! Could you email/text the dates when we'll be enjoying this with you next month? Eeeee!
  16. Ah, it's so quiet. I went to a play the other night and these lines struck me... So... does anybody know where my sweet babbooo has gone? A bunch of folks like that as well. Will you share?
  17. tribeca, that was a such a nice post. Thank you for sharing the link. I'm glad she was able to go to Cape Cod. Maybe she loved the outdoors so much that she was welcomed to stay. ETA: lilyshine, yes, I remember that blog. Maybe you're right!
  18. No, no no! Think of it this way. France is the same size as Texas. Paris to Nantes is like Dallas to San Antonio. Maybe I should have gone with you but when you sent those messages about taking this trip 3 months ago, I was computing how many cows it would cost. [tm:Ninotchka]. Nevermind. We'll go again because when my work sends me there I'll have a free hotel room (which of course I'll book as 2 queens, or what they consider to be queens over there -- more like skinny princesses) so all you'll have to take care of is airfare. We'll share my $25 per meal allowance. There's one condition, though. We're also going on several non-American-liability-limited coasters and I'm not taking no for an answer. Zeus in Parc Astérix is on my top 10 list and I haven't been in over 6 years. I can't believe we all found Yo!Sushi! independently. It's adorable! I think I ate there 3 times in 1 week. Do they still have the cute little boats? *maybe you can swipe one...*
  19. Just wanted to say happy trip to PerusingOne and KAndre (people are sooo lucky she's been out travelling... 'cept me, I wish she'd been here yesterday. Lol!) ... If you run into somebody say hi for me or better yet blow him a kiss... then you'll finally have an "I-told-you-so" comeback for the times I bring up the Vancouver, Minneapolis & Clio tix you passed up. Lol! So have fun, stay safe and get something from Sacré Coeur (or thereabouts) for me, with emphasis on the thereabouts. *winks* :bye:
  20. Very late catch-up... Belated HBD, Claymatron! Wow, the guy blogs twice and then Ansa posts (so glad to see you again!!!) and wanda's posts won't fit on tweeter. Yay!!! *off to check out the new blog* ETA: kimiye, can't wait!!!
  21. Interesting topics today... I put 100% of my UW contributions and most of my volunteer hours into the member organizations of the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast. I choose to do this because I make my living here and I'm a part of this community. I have primary projects and I tap my friends to help me with them, just like they count on me to help out on theirs. TBAF is the same way for me -- a very worthy project sponsored by someone I respect and if I see that TBAF is hurting badly from the economic downturn, I will probably divert a part of my UW funds to it. I attend galas other than the TBAF ones and I find that in the most successful ones, majority of the attendees aren't volunteers of the organization. That makes sense to me because I see galas as primarily fund-raising events and so it's a measure of success to be able tap funding sources other than what the group already has. This also give the organization an opportunity to educate others on its goals, promote itself and attract new volunteers. I'm glad claylove pointed out the breakdown on the $250 contribution. I was about to say that if TBAF is spending $250 on every attendee at the dinner, something is seriously wrong. Usually, the costs of the event are covered by the sponsors and the venue is usually a sponsor as well so the dinner charges are minimal. There are events that are primarily for the organization and its volunteers, e.g. educational programs, and for those events I think it would be crass for people to bump volunteers out of their seats just for a celebrity sighting.
  22. You guys weren't kidding! YES, he looked and sounded great!!! And not just your usual 'yay, we got clack and he looks great like he always does' kind of thing. That was TRULY a V. V. NICE appearance. He looked WONDERFUL and spoke so WELL!!! or as bottle says...
  23. About that new UM clip... Can I just say that that rendition was out of this world and I'm going crazy asking myself why, why, why I didn't go to that dinner? I love sushi, all kinds but especially the rare kinds that are served only on special dinners like that. And I adore oysters on the half shell! I would go to a fresh seafood fest by itself, one without a glimmer of a hope that someone's going to show up to sing, so why why why didn't I go?!!! *Aaaaaaarghhh*
  24. WOW hard to believe rickshaws still exist. I thought they would be obsolete by now, and replaced by trishaws. I have a picture from last summer! KAndre and I were probably his favorite passengers. Just need to find the right external drive...
  25. It seemed to be more of an IQ rather than a math question: 1,5,14,30,55,? Takes all kinds, doesn't it? *shakes head in amazement* Would you pls. post a link to the hummingbird commercial page? Thx! I'm still reeling from the number of excellent speeches I heard today at 3 commencement ceremonies. It's been 2 hours and I'm not done googling the stuff that was mentioned!
