  1. Fear, oh dear! Sorry to hear this news. Don't be afraid of cadaver parts. They work! :) And in the meantime, maybe some heavy-duty, structured knee braces? If he's falling down frequently, I don't know why they are postponing the surgery. What if he hits his noggin? You probably already know this, but when my knees are acting up, I sleep with a pillow under my knees. Keeps them supported at a natural curve and minimizes the wear and tear of rolling around. (((Mr. Fear)))

I posted this over at CH and thought it might interest some folks here, as well. It is regarding Project Runway and the fact that the obvious front-runner in many people's minds did not win! Gasp.

And bwah if we didn't get a Clay mention out of this! LOL (Posting only the intro and Clay mention from Nick Verreos blog, bolding mine).
    Salt Wins Over Sugar

"Project Runway" Season 8 ended last night with a THUMP: Mondo Did Not Win. Pause for dramatic effect. Let it sink in. Let me repeat: Mondo is NOT the winner of "Project Runway." The winner, instead, was Gretchen. Yes, Granola-Crunch-Whole-Foods-Hipster-Chick Gretchen, the Most Hated (by Internet standards) Contestant of the Season. For a hot minute, I thought, I'm going to totally shock everyone and say how Gretchen is the deserved winner, the judges were right and "Yeaaaaay!" I'll get 22,568 Hate Comments and be the most-read blogger in myLifetime.com history! And then I remembered how I had to live with myself tomorrow. So I decided to tell you the truth: I was NUMB. I-Need-to-Have-a-Stiff-Drink Numb. What happened? Well, let's figure it all out ...

    <snip>

    Silver Lining?

Yes, the one person that fans across the nation despise has now won the $100,000 Grand Prize! Let the blogosphere hatin' begin! I might not agree with the judges' decisions — and frankly I didn't agree with A LOT of what they had to say this season — but in a weird, twisted way, having Gretchen win has been a positive: The fans' mutual hatred and distaste of her has awoken them from a deep "Project Runway" Fan Slumber and made them involved in watching the show again. In a way, Gretchen has now (almost) singularly revived the "Project Runway" brand. So see, there is a positive. Now, Lifetime: Send her a huge bouquet of flowers! Congrats, Gretchen. And don't fret, Mondo — somehow I have a feeling you will be part of the "Illustrious Runner-Up Club" right alongside Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert. Love me some sugar.

  2. Hee! keepingfaith totally missed my little joke. Bwahaha.

    ...and they have bathrooms, too.

00lsee... is that an inside joke, cause I missed it, too... LOL

Ha, yes...on the way back from Biloxi, keepingfaith was jonesing for Starbucks, but there didn't seem to be any 'on the way', that is, near the freeway. It was also about time for a potty break! Suddenly, like a bolt out of the blue, someone, maybe keepingfaith, remembered Starbucks could often be found in Target stores. Sure enough, we found a Target 'on the way', stopped, fulfilled her craving...and yes, they have bathrooms, too.

That was the joke. And 'cause she missed my first reference, I just had to tag her a second time. That was a FUUUUUNNNN trip, yo! I love my travel buddies. :)

  3. Oh, gosh, I missed LdyJ's birthday? So sorry, hon! Happy birthday!!!!!!

I just loitered around a couple of hours with pagerage customizing my facebook page. Well, kinda sorta...I made some backgrounds using Clay, but I didn't actually USE any of the ones I made. But it was fun! Here's a preview of one I experimented with...I'm not Jennifer Brown, by the way! Unfortunately, since I only selected 'profile page' when I created it, if you download this one, it will only affect your profile page even if you select 'all pages'. But make one of your own! You have to download the Yontoo application (you can uncheck the toolbar installation) and the layout changes you make are only visible to you, unless the person viewing your facebook page also has Yontoo layers installed.

I don't miss the headache-inducing customizing of myspace, but facebook went the other way to very plain. I made a couple of layouts with my children...but right now I'm just using one of pagerage's premade pages. I'd love to see screen grabs of any Clay customizing that y'all do! You can share them with meeee! Actually, you really can, because they provide you with a url. :)

Anyway, it was a fun couple of hours, since everyone else is watching football and it's kind of a slow Clay day.

edited to add: OMG, somebody stop me. Now I've discovered Firefox personas! That's coool! Lookee, I made a Clay one. Turns out I can use the ones I make as 'custom personas' without publishing them to their catalog. Now, if I can just figure out how to get the red 'adblock' sign off his forehead. LOL :)

Scroll down a bit for 'clean' header you can actually use, if you want to.

  4. Cool Caro. I just had another coworker stop by to say she'd watched a bit of the special. Not too complimentary this time, though. She said he looked like he'd gained weight, and seemed quite stiff. I told her that he has filled out and grown up since 2003 (7 years!) but he is still quite thin. I also told her that it was his first concert in over 2 years so perhaps he was a bit nervous, what with the large crowd and cameras and all. She commented that he looked very different on the pledge breaks and she hardly recognized him with that long, dark hair. I told her that Clay is a chameleon and his hair changes from day to day. She asked who the woman was that had a solo? I said Linda Eder, but it was a duet with Clay on Crying. She said no, that was not it, it was a solo. I said Quiana but she was a back-up singer. She said no, not her. I said Ruben sang a song, she said no, she didn't see him. WTF? I don't think she paid much attention. Oh well, at least she watched with one eye open. wink.gif She did like the orchestra. tongue.gif But seriously, how could you watch that and not be impressed? Blows the mind.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you could truthfully tell Ms. Grumpy Hardtoplease that there's no seemed about it!

    :lipstick:

  5. Leftover okra? I don't like it any way except fried, unless perhaps it is in a seafood gumbo.

My grandmother used to pickle okra, but since I'm not a big fan of certain types of pickles, I never tried them (well, and she used to pickle beets, as well, to which I say bleeeeccchhh). But, hey, some folks LOVE pickled foods, so that might be worth trying. And no, most critters won't eat okra...birds might if you cut the pods open to expose the seeds...but yeah, probably compost. heh

Oh...and the King is suspicious of this humor.
