  1. Omg, y'all! Thanks for the grins! And the wonderful, playful memories of Spamalot! Yesterday, my teenage male cashier at Krogers said, "Why do you think I have this outrageous accent?" and was delighted when I instantly 'got' the reference. I can't remember how it came up in our conversation, but it was funny. LOL

keepingfaith, the only way I can watch Idol is recorded, so I can fast-forward through most of it. And I'm not buying that Ryan was merely over-caffeinated. heh

Sorry about the boss issues, KAndre. Doesn't he know that your powers as a Supreme Being are not to be used lightly?

Still catching up on the thread...

    :)

  2. Glad you're enjoying the biggie version of the cover. I know y'all will believe me when I say it was my pleasure.

Pretty much figured that out when you used 'biggie' and 'pleasure' in the same paragraph.

    heh

    :lipstick:

Okay, hey...I have a dumb question....Does anyone know where I got the picture my avatar is made from? I lost all my Clay pics to a catastrophic hard drive failure last year, so I will never know. Anyone recognize it?

    Thankee

  3. Although occasionally, we do saddle up our horses...cause we got a trail to blaze.

    runs away giggling

Don't run away ...... Shane! Come back, Shane!

Good lord, I'm old. I immediately pictured young Brandon DeWilde running after Alan Ladd!

I'd much rather picture Clay saddling up and blazing a trail...Sheesh!

    Senility sucks!

keepingfaith now playing the part of Brandon DeWilde

Alan Ladd portrayed by 00lsee, one of the kindest, friendliest people on the planet

    Bwah! Thankee kindly! In fact...(((((((HUGS)))))))

    Just because. :)

  4. Thanks, jmh.:thbighug-1:

Lordy, the more I look at it, the more I love it. The man has perfected the man-child look - makes you want to pat him on the cheek and then **** him senseless.

    :Thud:

That's kind of what I had in mind when I posted this last night at CH:

The close-up made me breathless. What a handsome man he is! I don't see anything negative when I look at that face.

In fact...those thoughtful-looking eyes have a glint of 'Just wait 'til I get you home'. And deceptively restful hands look like they'd make swift work taking off that snazzy peacock tie.

The corner of his mouth lifts just slightly. 'Sure you wanna finish that pie, Honey?'

    What.

    **************************

And this morning, my thought is, 'Sure you wanna finish that toast, Honey?'

Hey, he'd stay for breakfast, right? LOL

  5. Thanks for the upload, kimiye! And you're right, the link won't last long, so I uploaded your vid again http://www.sendspace.com/file/7i33yj for people who see the post later today.

So, I'm thinking the use of "damn" in Clay's recent speech might have some reference to this "give a damn" campaign? Clay's so smart like that.

And EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for more tour news! This is one I'll be sitting out, just from a financial perspective, but I'm looking forward to all the tales from the road and the televised special. I hope this is the beginning of many years of renewed success for Clay in all his endeavors.

  6. I feel as if I've just received word a good friend has come through major surgery with flying colors. You know what I mean? That relief that just floods through you and you have to sit down and say, 'Phew!'? That's it. Wow, y'all. I'm so glad you got to see this...this...extravaganza? Is there going to have to be a new word created to describe what happened? Because it doesn't sound like it was a 'concert'...but more of an event, an experience, an organic 'happening'. It's wonderful to have that Involuntary Clay Grin creeping up on me these days. Just like old times. This PBS special sounds like it will be a solid platform from which to launch the next phase of Clay's career. This makes me very happy.

Safe travels to the eHP returning home. Not surprised at to hear about the ticket tango.

    luckiest, this made me smile:

The fans were giddy, running around hugging each other and saying "oh my god, can you believe what just happened?"

Now, THAT's what I wanted to hear. Awesome! :)

  7. Ldy, THANK YOU! I miss the avatars, but at least I can read the writing!

Depending on which browser you are using, you may also try setting your fonts and colors so that webpages have to use your settings rather than their own. The only problem I have with making my fonts/colors override website settings is that doing so changes the settings for ALL websites, not just the one I'm having trouble reading. Easily fixed with just a couple of clicks, though, when I'm ready to exit the forum.

In Firefox, it's under Tools, Options, Fonts and Colors...To change fonts, you select 'Advanced' and then uncheck the box that says "allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" To change your colors, you select "Colors", select the colors you want for text and background, and then uncheck the box that says "allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above". When you are ready to leave the forum, it's a very simple matter to check the box(es) again and go about your normal internet activity.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Accessibility, and put a check in the boxes you want to control, such as "ignore colors specified on webpages" (which in my case turns this forum to a white background). You can also change font style and size to something easy to read. Very simple matter to change your settings back to 'normal' when ready to exit the forum.

I still see avatars when changed to lo-fi, but I have that box checked under 'my settings', 'forum', 'board display settings'.

    Clear as mud? :)

  8. Yay for the employment news, Couchie! Hope this is the start of something really great for you. Hopefully some of your mojo will rub off on me. I'm still lookin'.

Posted this at CH, but it applies here, too, y'all. Maybe more so.

I miss Clay. I miss this board. Somebody tell my real life to lay off so I can spend time on my favorite pasttime, will ya? I was reminded of my giddy Spamalot days this past week, with the local high school's most excellent presentation of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the musical. As with Clay, even professional Broadway performances of same songs on YouTube seemed lackluster compared to the wit and energy of our talented high school players. If they don't win some Tommy Tunes awards this year, I'll be shocked. Great Big Stuff, y'all!

Sorry this latest development has stressed some folks out. I guess it's easier for me to relax and go with the flow since I know I have zero chance of attending whatever might be in the works. But for those of you anxious to 'get there, already', I wish for clear skies and happy travels and a golden pot o'clack at the end of the promised rainbow. I'm excited because Clay's excited...and I'll be interested to find out what all the fuss is about 'soon'.

    Take care, friends.
