  1. goldarngirl and I are doing a 'best of' for the gala, so I've got a spread sheet going with all the different versions of the songs, different angles, etc. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but we like to think that the finished montages will show a 'best of' the clack for each song. Hopefully won't take us too long to do.

What is your definition of not 'too long'? I was planning on making a DVD, but if you will be doing the work of making a 'best of' I might just wait.

  2. Well, he tried. I guess now he'll be out for at least a day or two to let it heal a bit. Sometimes sprains can be more painful than fractures.

Hoping for a Saturday show (but only if the pain is gone) since I can't make it early enough on Friday anyway... so, does anyone still need the new Playbill?

    I do!!!!

I talked to you at the gala, but I don't think you remembered me. We met in Minneapolis. At the gala, I asked if you would get good video and I think you answered that you'd at least get good audio.

If you can get a Playbill, I'd love to have one. I'd be happy to pay for postage.

  3. Muski

I admire what you have done for your mom.

My husband had all of his college expenses paid for by his rich aunt. Because of that, he doesn't think our kids should have to pay anything for college. He even talked about getting a home equity loan to help pay for college. I told him that there was no way I was going to mortgage our house to send the kids to college.

They can work and they can also get low interest loans. They will both make good salaries once they graduate and they can pay back the loans. Can you tell that I didn't get much help when I went to college?

We want the best for our children, but I think they also appreciate it more when they contribute. It sounds like your daughter realizes that.

  4. I have one in college and will have two in college next year. We are lucky because my husband's mom is helping with tuition. But, we also started saving for the kids the day they were born. Money from their Baptism went into their college fund and at least half of the money they received as gifts went into their college fund.

When I had my good paying job at Target Corp, we put a few thousand each year into their funds. So, for my son, we had over $30,000 saved. He is working while going to school and he is paying for his own books. He's also looking at moving off campus next year to lower costs.

    It can be done.

  5. People posting opposing opinions does not mean that yours is wrong. Sometimes, when a person's opinion is in the minority, they feel like people are ganging up on them, when in reality, we are all just stating our opinions.

    Did someone really post this:

As for after all he went through he would never be apart - I am sorry but that is a little over the top IMO!
If so, that is over the top.
  6. And my opinion is that after everything...I just don't think something as banal as a doctor's apt or a schedule will keep him from moving Parker to NY. Maybe there will be other reasons. But, personally, I moved (like to another city several states away) twice when my children were small infants. So I don't think it would be all that unusual or detrimental. Babies are really pretty hardy.

See...you have your opinion and I have mine. Handy how that works.

Hey, I have the same opinion.

I don't believe anyone is saying that Clay needs to be with Parker 24/7. Since Clay will be in NY until January, it just makes sense that Parker will be there with him. Will he be there the entire time? No one knows. I also don't think anyone said that would 'for sure' happen. Most are saying that they can't imagine that Clay would move to NY and leave Parker in Raleigh.

It doesn't make it so, but I think it's most likely.

ETA: On Sep 19, Parker will be six weeks old.

  8. Oh good grief. If anybody thinks my stupid post was a swipe at Clay, that's ridiculous. If anything, it's a parody of MY fangirliness, which is at times over the top.

  9. Well, my lurker friend and I finally got our first Spamalot tickets for October 4th. No problem getting GREAT seats for a Saturday night! What a difference a rerun makes! Not sure how many other times I'll go. I know I can't afford to go as many times as I did last time.

But I suspect I'll go more than once.......

    Where are your seats?

Row B, seats 106 and 106 - I think those are the right seat numbers.

Why? You going to be there???? :)

I wish. I was wondering what you considered great seats and those are GREAT seats.

I have a room reserved for the final weekend. No tickets yet and no roomie. I can cancel up until the night before. Having a room reserved gives me some hope that it will work out. I won't have any vacation to use until Jan 1st and I'm hoping to find some GREAT seats just like you did.

  10. I came out of the woodwork to share with you a Clay spotting on Thursday. He was shopping at the Street of Southpoint Mall in Durham. There was a young black woman with him and no kids. He was carrying a small bag from Strasburg Children's store when he walked into The Apple Store. He looked around for a few minutes before taking off his sunglasses. He was in there for a while but did not buy anything. Now the important part..... He has changed his hair color again. His hair appeared to be more of a darker blonde shade with some light brown lowlights. It is not as blonde as the end of Spamalot and I didnt see any red tint at all. He appeared to be having a good day with a friend. Now, I'm going back to lurking and stalking.

Was he wearing his khaki shorts and a long-sleeved shirt? We need to know these things. Hee.

  11. I had a career in IT. I was working for Target Corp in Minneapolis. I was making great money, but I was tired of the long drive and the political BS you get in a big corporation. I quit in June of 2004 thinking I would take the summer off and find a new job in the fall.

Fall came and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go work for another big corp. With the skills that I had, that was my only option. I kept putting it off and before long, my skills were old and I couldn't find a job. I also have a background in banking (high school and college years). I went to work for a local bank in their call center. The pay was less than half of what I made at Target, but it's close to home and there is minimal stress. When I leave work, I leave work. I'm not on-call like I was before and it's a different feeling altogether. It's a small local bank so I don't have to deal with the corporate BS.

If I were younger or if I really needed a good paying job, I'd go back to school. Luckily, my husband makes a good income and we live a simple life. We've been in our house for ten years, so our mortgage is reasonable and we drive old cars.
