why am I getting a replay in my head of Clay dressed as Cher in a long black wig???

On the Frisco Park webpage it says that the game starts at 5:30 and Clay will sing approx 30 minutes after the end of the game.

So how long do soccer games last?????

YSRN - you and Couchie are in for a treat - that is, is you would pick up even the first Harry Potter book. It's really short and it'll take you about a day to read it. Then you'll know. And yes - Voldemort is the "He Who Must Not Be Named" extra-bad-evil-wizard-who-wants-to-rule-the-world.

It's not the bears that scare me tho, apparently they are very shy, and are apt to run away.... it's the high altitude, rain forest environment, and various other things like camping out in the mud and stuff. But you're right - I am extremely proud of them!!

I've been trying to think of some songs to put down to join in and play this little game.

First I had to go back and look up the rules. Then I had to go and order my DCAT t-shirts... (I got scoop-neck plus size)

While I was doing that I decided to order a Harry Potter shirt too, since next week the movie comes out!

We bought tix to the IMax theatre near here to see it on Thursday! I'm so excited!

Here's what I came up with - if anyone is interested in having the file for your own shirt - let me know!

I made it with a transparent background, but with the white letters, I put the black behind it so you can see it! I made one on a black shirt.

Now I have to find a quiet time to think about the set list for Frisco.

I've had this vision of him coming out singing "Moon River" - but what I've really wanted him to sing is "Somebody To Love" - but that is not necessarily an orchestra piece.

My brain is still fried from all the stress of the past few weeks (and days!).

My two daughters spent the night in Miami - American Airlines cancelled the flight and put them up in the Hilton. I told them it will be the last really good bed they get for awhile!!

They are boarding a non-stop flight to Quito any minute now. so they are OK for the present!

Cha Cha..I'm curious..are your daughters going to Ecuador for vacation for something educational?

They are going to track the Andean bears in the Andean mountains as part of a conservation project. Apparently most of the bears have already been tagged and they'll have an electronic locating device, sort of like the contestants used on the Amazing Race that one time this past season. We'll see what they actually end up doing! They might have to build fences to keep the bears out of the natives' corn fields!!

Thanks ansa....... the part that bothers me about them getting another flight was that the next change was in Panama City and I heard them say that there are only a couple flights from PC to Quito, so I am hoping they didn't have to spend the night inthe PC airport. It's a Mom thing, I can't settle my nerves until I know how things went!

UPDATE on the Ecuadorian travelers:

I left them in the security line yesterday (which was moving fairly fast) after standing in the check-in line for almost 2 hours.

It was past boarding time, but the flight was delayed...........

When I checked from home it was 2½ hours delayed which meant they missed their connection in Miami.......

SO............. they are out there somewhere, but I haven't heard where.......

They packed no cell phones but promised to send email from Quito when they arrive.....

On a lighter note - I received my pins yesterday - they are WONDERFUL!! Thanks to all for making them!

I was going to say we ordered the CD and movie from Amazon two days ago...and it was America who sang the songs. (except one that Mia Farrow sang) and........

If you go to the Amazon page, scroll down, and click on the "Music Sampler" you can listen to a few seconds of each song. There are a lot of instrumentals too.

And BTW - there were only 4 in stock when we ordered 2 the other night!!

luckiest - go to that YouTube link and you'll see all about it! Yes, it is an animated movie... it's a Rankin/Bass production and came out in 82.

It is also a book, and I plan to read it NEXT, right after I finish "Lipstick Jungle" by Candace Bushnell. (which is pretty good)

My daughter informs me that the book fleshes out the characters so much more than the movie, which is my experience with most movies and books.

I've been away from the boards for a couple days... I've been spending time with my girls...

the two who are going to Ecuador at the end of the month... we've been studying Spanish...

and customs... and shopping for hiking boots and sturdy bras...

Then we geeked out on "Dirty Dancing" one night, "Harry Potter" with Spanish subtitles...

and "The Last Unicorn"...

Yesterday another daughter informed us that "The Knight Bus has arrived..." so we went to a Library in Arlington

and geeked out on the Knight Bus for a bit too!
