  1. ETA: No matter anyone's opinion on IGB, the paranoia is driving me up a wall - as if these humoungus organizations have nothing better to do today but play a little chess game surrounding Clay Aiken. . I'll be glad when it's over and we get back to the normal conspiracy theories about ATDW.
This how I feel!! I'll be happy to have this whole [damn] thing over with!!

    IT STARTS TONIGHT!!!

  2. G'Day 'Mates! (ok - for those who don't like " 'mates" - G'Day Fans!)...

I'm sure I will watch the IGB show, it's set to tivo and I am usually in front of the TV on Tuesday and

Wednesday night. I will miss Sanjaya, but I wouldn't be sorry if Phil leaves soon!

As to whether Clay will be on it - I have a strong and suspicious maybe. If he's not, I would like to

eventually know why, altho I realize that might be a fruitless goal!

On Tuesday the Idols are supposed to all sing, and the votes you phone in generate bucks for the cause.

So I am not sure if this is like a regular competition or when they will announce the results. They have

been reporting a record number of votes, something like 45 million or something? So if they get a $ a

vote - that will add up to some big bucks!!

I'll be there watching!! whateveah!! I actually did throw in a few votes for Jordin last week. I like her,

she reminds me of America Ferrera, and REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES!!

    :allgood:

Just a couple comments about the emoticon situation. A couple things I have noticed:

    1) the panel on the left (on my computer) is always cut off on the right side.

    2) if the panel to the left has a scroll bar, why not put most of the big ones there?

    3) when I click the Show All, the window that pops up in only about 8x4 inches big.

    4) there's a limit to how many emoticons you can put into one post?

I have hit the ceiling a few times on that one!!

    What's up with all that?

    :fca:

OMG - that new photoshop is hilarious!

eta: Forgot I came to share this

I found this morning on youtube.

Lots of Clay's most brilliant stuff all together......

(since I upgraded my IE browser, I get a scripted alert when I want to add a url.

Can I set it to not do that? It's annoying!)

  3. Is this Page ONE??????

    :F_05BL17blowkiss: :F_05BL17blowkiss: :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I just want to tell you that the pic posted with your name is soooooooo coooooooooool!!!!

Thanks marsha!!! Feel free to steal it - I got it from somewhere else and I can't even remember where!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Is anyone having problems with the right-click and save from deepsouthgirl's photobucket acct? Everytime I try to save a pic the hourglass spins and spins and I end up having to end program. Which closes all the IE windows - so PLLLLLLLLLlllltttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!! WTF?? I upgraded to the new IE yesterday - could that be it? (Actually - it doesn't happen on any others, so maybe not... eta: OK - just happened on gazzy's pix too - I give up for now - off to bed!!! )

HOW CUTE WAS BOYFIREND TONIGHT?? GAHHH!!

crap - how did it get this late?

OT; Bucky was on Kimmel last night

  4. Yummy screencap from artquest

    144904003-M.jpg

WOW - this is yummy!! I was trying to figure out how to make screencaps of that video - anybody know? artquest - you have a mac, don't you!!?? (I don't!)

I would also like to know if anyone knows how to convert a .ram file to a .wmv or any other format for that matter!!

YAAAAY CLAY AND THE CLAY NATION!!!

WHEN WE RALLY ROUND THE CLAY POLE, WE RALLY BIG!!

Can't wait to hear the final figure....

muski... I feel for you with your daughters and the sex thing. As the mother of girls myself, I know of which you speak. Sometime when you have a few hours, I could bend your ear with some stories!! But they are all grown up now, mostly out of college and married. So, this too shall pass. One thing I used to do with my kids was to go into their rooms at bedtime and ask them if they had any burning questions. And to use that time to tell them important things. I always used to caution them to be careful, and use protection. Telling them to abstain never works! I used current events to bring up topics to discuss. These were the days before Amber Alerts. And yes, I agree with you that you should hit the library with a vengeance and get the dialogue going! Good Luck!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

DID I MENTION THAT I LOVE CLAY AIKEN!!!!????

eta: RATS! I forgot what I came over here to share with you!!

I know it's not Christmas anymore, but I just ran across this video on youtube

    - It's hilarious! Someone did a lot of work on the photos that went into this montage!! It's been up since Feb and only has 121 hits. It needs more!! (does anyone recognise that name claytageous?)

  5. play - I feel for ya with the flooding problems. Just when I thought it was all over, tonight mr cct comes up from the basement and announces our sump pump stopped working. We spent the next two hours moving stuff, and throwing away wet stuff. I didn't think it would be a problem - I might have checked earlier, but am not real sure what I could have done!! Appaerently the float got stuck or something, TG we don't need to replace it! Anyhow - I'm tired!!

But before I retire - here is the companion to the wallpaper I made earlier today. This one is for wide screens.

    VOILA!

    clay2WPafg1440sm.jpg

    :F_05BL17blowkiss:

    eta: thanks couchie!

  6. Well shoot! According to the Tour Page at the OFC Tulsa is now the first concert! It is now on July 4th! Guess that means no Frisco, but could it mean Dallas is back on???

I hate the idea of being at the 2nd concert! I want to be at the first concert!!!! ***stamps feet and pouts...***

Off to check airfares to Tulsa then from Tulsa to Houston.....

ETA: I forgot. I ran into a grocery store on my home from work to pick up a few things and as I walked in I heard this wonderful voice coming from the speakers - and quite loudly! It was Clay singing "Solitaire"!! I hadn't heard that song in ages!! Its so nice when you get to hear him unexpectedly!

DAMN - I can't keep track of what is and isn't the scheduled first concerts in Texas. Anybody want to check my page and tell me what to change for me??? I'd really be grateful!!

CLAY'S SUMMER CONCERT SCHEDULE... (I havent' had time to explore - is it on FCA somewhere? )

I heard Clay twice in one week a little while back! We heard "Without You" in Applebee's, and then I heard "Invisible" in the grocery store!

  7. FYI - I am using IE (I usually do) and the url of http://www.findingclayaiken.com/index.html comes up "page not found" - but if I use http://www.findingclayaiken.com/ - the page comes up....

I am breathing a huge sigh of relief. I just talked to my daughter, two of their best friends (a married couple) are students at VA Tech. I am happy to know they are not among those involved in this morning' s shooting.

I really feel for the families and friends of those students and teachers. So tragic and unneccessary.

    :hugs-1:

    to all who need them

eta: GAH!!!! I took so long on this post that pix were posted in the meantime!!

ldyJ - I believe that is a Sony camera in his other hand in the 3rd photo. Which BTW - I LOVE his smile in!!

  8. Couchie - I went to that link you provided a couple pages ago, [this one: http://www.findingclayaiken.com/] and this is what I saw:

    where did it go????????????

This link however, seems to still work.yahoo.gif

Taylor was pretty good tonight. It was a very small venue, and I really couldn't picture Clay playing there at all. Not sure of the capacity, but 500-600? 1000 tops! We got a table in the back but were positioned "center stage" I didn't take my big camera in case we weren't allowed... so I didn't get any really good pictures! This is the best one. The lights were very dim so a lot of the time he was in shadows or dim red light. Not good, really!

We decided to wait with the 10-12 fans outside near the busses. After about 20 mins Taylor came out and signed a few autographs. He wasn't very smiley, or anything tho, didn't really say anything much at all either! I heard he was very shy. He had a knit hat on so you could barely tell it was him!! I can't help comparing the whole experience to a Clay bus experience. Like night and day! Took a photo outside too from lots closer range!

On the way home TLS and I sang to ATDW at the top of our lungs!!

    fruit.giffruit.gif

  9. OK - I'm all ready - me and my friend TLS are going to see Taylor Hicks this evening. It is still raining. I am trying to decide which sweater/sweatshirt to wear under my waterproof jacket!

I got a copy of Taylor's album to play and familiarize with the songs a couple of weeks ago. I've been so obsessed with Harry Potter I couldn't bring myself to put it in the car for my commute. So I was listening to it a little earlier today (then switched to ATDW).

mr cct comes in on Taylor's first cut and says...... "See? Why can't they give Clay stuff like that?" (I think I'll keep him)

So maybe they will... or maybe he makes his own luck. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Clayzorback -- I solved the ole jealousy on the computer desktop sitch - I have my own computer in my own room!! Anyway - hubby is fine with Clay as long as I don't drool about what a great lover he might be!!

    :allgood:

Thanks to all on the wallpapers! I promise more in the near future!!

Here's a quickie I just did waiting for my ride - TTFN!

  10. I made you a pressie:

    Clangela.jpg

ETA... Weeee, it's the cute!! clap.gif

OMG - I was looking at that avie and WONDERING just WHO that gorgeous guy was with Angela!! TWAP! It must be too early in the morning.... back to bed soon.... BUT FIRST....

Here I was about 12 hours ago about to post some pearly pearls of wisdom, when ZAP! the lights went out! Literally. I heard this roar, and then......... total darkness. Some nut had missed the curve out on the main road and hit the light pole directly in front of my neighbor's house. Knocked the power out in the whole neighborhood! (only 10 houses on my dead-end street!) (the guy was hurt, but not too badly, not like say... the Gov of NJ!)

On our way out to Abblebee's (after most of the emergency vehicles had cleared so we could get out) I told mr cct "Geez, the things I have to do to get you to take me out!!" At dinner we made a friendly bet. I wagered the power would not be back on at midnight, and he thought it would be back by the time we finished dinner and grocery shopping. It was 10:30 when we got back (and I realized the folly of buying frozen veggies... hee!) And So....... He has to go with me to the next chick flick of my choice, and I do NOT have to see '300'! I call that a good deal!

So it just came back about 45 mins ago, and of course we were in bed so early that I've had almost as much sleep as usual!

Here are some goodies I was about to post 12 hours ago when the lights went out! :hubbahubba:

    unicefAfgWP1440med.jpg

    this one is 1440x900 (clickable)

    this one is 1024x768 (clickable)

WooT!! I figured out how to make them clickable!!!

eta: I forgot to say WELCOME to K'eh and Fully Functional!

AND..... it looks like the webmasters at UNICEF don't work weekends. The gauge has been at 90% since all day yesterday! I bet they have to bust thru the top when they get back on Monday morning!!

eata: I love your skit djs!!! BWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ok, back to bed!

  11. Sheesh, I can't keep up with all the long ass posts y'all have been writing the past few days!

I think I got the gist of what most of you are saying tho! I love you Guys!

    1. Let Clay Be Clay

    2. Fans Will Be Fans

    3. While the Clay's away, the Team will Play.

    4. Heads will Roll.

    5. It's Easier to Get Forgivness than Permission.

    6. Once a Pod, Awlays a Pod.

    7. We're Not in Raleigh Anymore!

    8. Discretion is the better part of valor. (almost forgot that one!)

OH - the most important one:

    NUMBER NINE: IT'S ALL CLAY'S AIKEN'S FAULT.

    :F_05BL17blowkiss:

    :allgood:

    ::must go adjust web page::

  12. Holy Crap - I haven't even read the last two pages - I just wanted to check in and tell you that I made it thru Sunday's Easter celebration (which involved driving 90 mins to MIL's after about 4.5 hours of sleep, Easter egg hunt, dinner, and home again) and thru today's day of work and subsequent commute.

    :allgood:

I have identified with all the "Fan Fatique" - I used to try and keep up with everything that was happening, post every day, several times, spend hours working on stuff for my web site (I still do that but not every day!) and I don't think I am tired of Clay or the fandom, but I am just simply tired!!

I need to get into shape, I am seriously out of shape. muski and couchie, it's great that you two are doing some exercise. I am hopelessly procratinating about exercise.

I still love Clay and will run to see him on TV or anywhere, will spend hours watching vids or pictures and reading about him...... spend gobs of money to be where he is, if possible.

But there are lots of other things in my life. I have to spend time with my kids, and I do enjoy that, of course, I have to stay away from the computer when they are here visiting, and sometimes I don't even sneak back here to peek at what is happening in the Clay world. I spend time with my husband, doing things like taxes, home and car repairs, and of course, cooking and cleaning, and general stuff, like the occasional movie, party, or dinner out. (I will "take breaks" tho and come back to the computer...) We used to have a joke that we could hear the computer calling, "trusty..... truuuuuusty!"

But I have tried to be more "adult" and pay attention to the nuts and bolts of what makes life run, albeit, not always smoothly, but at least without too many missing cogs.

My kids have complained that I have more pictures of Clay around this house than I do of them. It's probably true. But I told them that they had never given me a poster-sized photo of them to hang up! I have to remind them every year or so that they need to get together and have a photo taken!! I usually suggest this around Mother's Day or my birthday or Christmas. Since the days when I used to take them to Olan Mills for portraits I think I've gotten a total of 2 or 3 photos of them that I didn't take myself! (Not counting weddings, and I still took some there as well!!)

So it looks like we are all in the same boat, right?? The fandom is slowing, or cooling, but there is that occasional rip in the surface, and then it's running like hot molten lava again.

And those are the times that are the most fun, and are worth waiting for!!

    :hugs-1:

    to all who like them!!

  13. ATT90212.gif

    Happy Easter boardmates!

I ca'nt believe I am up. We tied one (maybe ever two or three?? *g*) on at an Irish pub last night for my hubby's birthday... and stayed up waaaay too late, and I woke up waaaay too early! The entertainer is a guy we first saw when our kids were weee little ones and he is a HUMDINGER! He had my hubby and two daughters up on the stage singing the Unicorn Song. Other SIL took video with his Treo and promises to send it to me so i can upload it to YouTube later on today. By the way, his name is Seamus Kennedy - go see him if if comes to any pubs near you - I guarantee you'll have a memorable evening!! (that link will give you a preview of one of my fave songs the "3-minute Hamlet" *G*)

I think I'll take some Alka Selter and go back to bed now......

  14. Good day - any New news? I always want new news, rather than old news. Have you heard some day, Clay will record another album.

Happy Easter all. For some reason, I felt inspired by You Were There.

You Were There was one of my favorite songs from that tour. It is an inspiring song!

I loved the visual of him rising up in the white suit, all backlit and shining.

    ytw2chacha.jpg

    Happy Easter!

eta: I got distracted by clack and forgot to say.....

HOW GREAT IS THE CLAYIZZAQT CLACK????? WOW! I have that same camera and I continue to be amazed at the quality of the vids I can get. It has a 12x optical zoom, and a 40x digital zoom! I just did some great vids at my nephew's 5th grade production of Annie! ::need more memory tho::

Also - I loved seeing Kimmel take that Gawker bitch down a notch.. His reasoning was spot on. There's clack up (not sure where besides the CH) of it is you didn't see Kimmel on LKL last night. I got a kick out of his wearing of suspenders ala LK! hee!

  15. Good luck CHaCHa Trusty with You Tube - unless you are very specific in in not being AI sets, you will get ratted out and be banned in short order - usually less than 24 hours - I got banned for posting something that said AI inthe description, even though it was a concert.

Well - I think I'm safe, play, even tho I've used them on my webpage, they aren't posted to youtube by me. They were all right there waiting for me! The ones I have posted have all made it thru (with careful wording from me!) except the one where I mistakenly wrote "Tonight Show" on the description. Guess Leno don't 'llow no youtube vids!!

  16. I tried to catch up with all the posts today.... geez..... you spend one 18-hr period doing some things in RL ... and the board explodes on ya!! My eyes started to glaze over soon after that post which I totally agreed with, both she who said it (Claygasm) and she who put together this very pretty and eye-catchingly composed post agreeing with it (and the others who said poignant things)! (Clayzorback)

:ilovemypc::bravo:Claygasm :bravo:atinal :bravo:jmh123 :bravo: To all the wonderful articulate spot on posts. OMG. :andthetruth::nothingtoadd: Because I never thought I would see the day that my thoughts and feelings would be expressed and so eloquently.:da_best:

I am a Clay fan, pure and simple. Fans buy records, go to concerts, sing along with the songs at the tops of their lungs (even when sober, definitely when you get a few drinks in them), collect memorabilia (spending waaaaay too much $$!), act fangirly at times with other fans, some even run fan websites just for the hell of it, and enjoy every minute (well maybe not every steeeenking minute...) of it.

    I don't run Clay's life/career/fandom.

I so agree with the Buble fiasco last night.... was the feeble attempt at humor scripted?? One has to wonder. I thought I would enjoy hearing him sing, but I was wrong! I would love, Diva, to hear what *Ole Blue Eyes would say about Clay's rendition of Mack the Knife.

*I know that's what Sinatra was called, but I think I've heard Bennet called it as well.

Last night in between pausing my fave tv shows so as not to have to watch the commercials (I hates commercials, especially the drug-related ones!), I threw this little web page together that might just remind you just how HAWT Clay looked in the tuxedo, when he was dubbed "so hip, so cool." I think I have the technique down now!

It's a COLLECTION OF AMERICAN IDOL VIDEOS all together on one page. One-stop viewing!! I found a really good montage of the audition that I'd never seen before for the top of the page. Disclaimer: Not responsible for viewers staying up past their bedtimes!!

    ENJOY!

::did I mention I love Clay Aiken???::

    :large-smiley-003:

  17. Not sure what this mean (but it doesn't sound good!). I emailed the Nokia and asked if they could confirm that Clay was going to be there on April 7th because we were getting conflicting information.

This was her very prompt answer:

So are we - we have him currently confirmed for 7/7, but also there is a

lot of TBD at the moment. I am not sure if the Clay Aiken tour knows

    either.....

So they're getting conflicting information also????

    :fncomputer:

Dallas in the afternoon and Tulsa at night????????????

    :Tour4:

    Make that TRAVEL STRESS!

But I'll be in VA, so thankfully, not involved. Hope it gets sorted out!!

btw - I've updated the TOUR SCHEDULE page.......

    :Tour3:

  18. Here's an example of how people know Clay in the "not-just-us" sector:

I got this from my Paul McCartney group, where they were discussing

how Paul gives reasons for not wanting to be on AI by saying that he

doesn't agree with how "these young people get famous so quickly.

He said that he had to work his way up in clubs and that way is a better

foundation." Someone then argued that lots had done some work before

appearing on AI, and it didn't make a big difference if you win or not -

    "Ruben who?"

    Then someone said

Ruben faded into obscurity, but Kelly Clarkson is doing very well

for herself ... hasn't she won Grammies? Clay Aiken isn't doing badly

either. I understand Carrie Underwood is doing very well in country music,

and Jennifer Hudson (who didn't even win on American Idol) won an Oscar

    for her performance in "Dreamgirls".

    (bolding mine)

Sorry - I think I paraphrased all that badly...

    Then another poster offered this:

when the Beatles started The Mersey Beat ran

a popular band poll weekly. The Beatles would buy or get copies and send in

votes for themselves because the top bands had a shot at a recording contract.

The Mersey Beat was an AI of sorts. The reviewers/writers would be like the

judges on AI. AI isn't that different from what bands have done or gone through

in the past; just digital with a much larger audience.

    imagine that!!

(of course that's not how they got the contract, but it may be how Brian Epstein

    heard about them!

Thanks for the concerns for my BIL, he is at home resting today. I hope he

takes it easy now (he is 74)!

  19. But Clay never seemed like he felt comfortable in a recording studio...I hope that is no longer the case with all the recording he did last year.

I am not sure that this is so, I mean, he recorded two albums by age 22, didn't he? It's true that his mom bought him recording time for a birthday present, but I have never gotten the impression that he was uncomfortable in a recording studio.

Just wondering what gave you that impression.

too tired to comment on the rest of what happened today, except for whoever this Eddie person is,

    WTG DUDE!

can't wait for the People print version - and dang - my subscription has run out!

OT: my boss/BIL who was sick yesterday, ended up spending the night int he hospital with a bleeding ulcer! They released him today after getting the bleeding stopped, so I think he's going to be OK. Scary shit!
