Exciting times are here again! The new Carolina On My Mind blog includes information on CD release party planning, the Larry King Live appearance, and Timeless Ticket tour sales for Friday and next week. Featured are the "2010" montage by gerwhisp with graphics by AmazingCA and Fountaindawg.

Thank you for your visits/comments/retweets/reposts/etc. They all help spread the word about Clay.

Grandchildren Report: Lia had her first taste of French fries today. I think she likes them because she ate Kai's box of fries while he spent his McDonalds time playing. He was a mite upset, to say the least!

Perhaps we are going through "the change" at the OFC. :cryingwlaughter:

    Happy "early" TGIF! :BlowKiss:

Love your comment, tree. The more I look at Anoop's suit, the more I think you might be right.

Thank you for your comments/visits, all. :imgtongue:

This is one of my favorite "Clay compared to Clay" songs. It's Clay's voice loud and clear in both, but the "moves" changed dramatically in 5 years! He's just so CUTE!!!

keeping... that was sooo much fun to see that comparison. Boy has he growed up good!!!!!!!

    DITTO! :cryingwlaughter:

    I love a man with 2 feet!

merrieeee... BWAH!!! And, in spite of what Clay says about his dancing... he does not have 2 left feet. The picture says so!!!

He proved that in "Spamalot." :snoopy:

Have a great week, all! :yahoo:

I was all ready to wish our newest dogwalker a Happy Birthday, but then I noticed the CV member celebrating has an extra "s" in her screen name, Claysgalsal. If you are one in the same, hope you have a very special day, claygalsal! :thbighug-1:

Have y'all seen the additional concert pix at AP Images? There are several with an AP watermark. Un-edited, here is one that escaped the water mark:

The new Carolina On My Mind blog references the Sunday (4/18) Washington Post article on nine American Idol seasons, of which the AI2 and AI5 Finales were the most viewed. SueReu's montage 'Best Season Ever' ties in the Clay-Ruben Finale, and a video of Clay's surprise performance of DLTSGDOM recaps the AI5 Finale water cooler moment.

Information about next week's tour venues starting to sell tickets is also included. Hope you enjoy. Thank you for your comments, which really help the Internet Clay blogs with Google placement.

Real life has kept me off the boards for three days, and I am in the midst of arranging fiddle tunes for my violinists. At least twice, I set up multiple quotes to post at FCA, only to back out due to my schedule. I have really enjoyed catching up today.

Wahoo for big bucks being spent on Clay. Somebody knows what they have.

    WORD, Fear !

:welcome:Claysgalsal! As keepingfaith said, have fun walking Raleigh and Durham! All of us started by "walking the dog." :snoopy:

If only Clay would strip for the cause....

I'm palpitating over the HAND in the OFC picture. If it had been a picture of his toes, I'd be laid out on the floor, twitching and salivating. I need help.

Just picturing all this makes me laugh, wanda! :cryingwlaughter:

Have a great weekend, FCA! smileywithheart.gif

I hope you enjoy the blog. Your comments and feedback are important at Google. Thank you to those who visited and commented in the previous entry.

    Reed has a beautiful body.

Clay is sexy without trying....... and he doesn’t even realize it.

So true, ToldForThis. Ditto to cindilu2's post, too! :whistling-1:

  6. Well I am now back in the land of the living, since the Shell Houston Open has been over a week and I need some help. When I try to post with quotes etc the formatting bar is across the middle of the post and I can't see to edit etc. cos it gets in the way. Any advice?

    :welcome: back, merrieeee and Idyjocelyn!

Thnx again, tree. When a comment comes in, I receive an email from Blogspot. :snoopy:

I'm ready for some snippets. Anybody else? :clay:

Have a great week, all! :BlowKiss:

  7. Sorry about the lack of comments, Caro. I'm guilty too, and it's such an easy thing to do - no excuse! I'll get over there shortly.

I hope Reed is feeling better soon (our definition, not his boyfriend's!). My mom had Bell's Palsy twice and each time it took about a month to resolve - thankfully with no lasting effects. She did have to wear an eye patch for a while each time though (the droopy eyelid caused too much dryness). It does make me smile to know he's in Raleigh though. *grin*

Thnx for stopping by, cindilu2. Since I was here, I discovered that Fountaindawg made the perfect graphic for this Timeless ticket blog. I must have closed her P/B account just before she uploaded it. Anyway, I have added the regular and widescreen clickables of this to Carolina On My Mind:

The new Carolina On My Mind blog includes info about the week's seven "live" tour ticket sale venues, a special Dancing With the Stars/Clay Aiken montage by LovesClaysVoice, TNT CD/DVD set list talk with art by Fountaindawg and cindilu2.

I can tell from the feed there have been lots of hits and RIGHT CLICKING of graphics in the two hours the blog has been up, but no one is stopping to comment. Unfortunately, comments are what count the most and help keep the positive news about Clay at the top of the Google heap. Many thnx to those who understand. :)

Er um, everyone must have gorgeous weather on this Sunday afternoon. LOL, maybe I need to get a life. :cryingwlaughter:

Sending healing thoughts to Reed.

I went from teaching fiddles to writing a new Carolina blog -- Clay Aiken's TNT Promo Takes Off -- featuring today's TNT/Decca developments, tour info/links, the National Inclusion tweets, and a special musical recollection from the F-5 Lubbock Tornado. It makes sense when you read the context.

You know most everything in the entry, but your visits and comments help with the Google placement of the Internet Clay blogs. I included cover art as edited by cindilu2, MakeNice, Kareneh, and Cotton. Many thnx for these!

Looking forward to reading your entry, Kareneh! Congrats on the bike! :)

Love the typo in the post about the CANN entry! Musicfan will probably laugh about it, too. :cryingwlaughter:

The Timeless Tour's "ticketmaster tango" is on the move with five of 17 concert sites open for business this week. The new Carolina On My Mind blog features a new montage by LovesClaysVoice: "Clay and Ruben Together Again!"; graphics by Fountaindawg; and PermaSwooned's very special post about Decca unleashing Clay.

LOL, you may recognize some of the dialogue, which came from three boards.

The 145th country -- Angola -- visited the Carolina site earlier today. Thank you for your comments and visits. Hope you enjoy. :snoopy:

Many thnx to those who stopped by the Easter entry to see and read about Kai and Lia, my growing grandchildren -- among other topics. :)

Have an awesome week, all! :BlowKiss:

  11. Hi everyone. I joined this board in March of 2008, but I only ever posted once or twice, and I haven't been here in a long while. From the feel I get just from reading through this thread, I can see it's really been my loss.

I'm watching basketball, but I had to stop and say :welcome: back, deyabird! Look forward to reading your posts. As others have posted, this is a stress-free board that keeps up with the latest Clay news. :)

I taught a full afternoon of music lessons for the first time since March 26. Everyone seemed excited to be back. One of my pianists received an iTouch for his birthday, and he used it to email me about a makeup lesson.

Another lives in a neighborhood hit hard by this area's Palm Sunday tornado. He and I, a former Texan, exchanged a couple of "war" stories at the start of his lesson. Tonight I sent him the link to a Carolina blog I wrote about the F-5 Lubbock Tornado, which I survived in a mobile home. My husband, then a student at Texas Tech, was working part-time as the maitre d' at the Lubbock Club atop a 13-story building, the tallest in the city. This is an interesting little twist from that night:

    Fake Book Miraculously Survives

Betty, keyboardist in a duo performing at the Lubbock Club, was using a wonderful old fake book that my husband had discovered in a long-forgotten pile backstage at a symphony rehearsal hall. Patrons and employees alike had evacuated the Lubbock Club in haste the night of the tornado.

A month later when the musicians returned for the club's reopening, Betty apologized for just leaving that wonderful old book of tunes on the organ. She was flabbergasted when Mr. Caro explained that the tornado had apparently closed the book and placed it safely beside the organ pedals.

That fake book is still in my music library. :)

Have a great evening, all! :BlowKiss:

  12. th_Easterbasket3.gifHappy Easter Sunday, FCA!

Thnx to those who have visited the new Carolina On My Mind blog. I posted a blurb about the celebration of Easter, Spring rebirth, seasonal photographs by Sally, Clay Aiken graphics from Easters past, the latest on Kai and Lia, etc., in the wee hours. Again, many thnx who have stopped by.

I notice lots of people saving the older CA Easter graphics.

  13. I called my friend Sally, an excellent photographer and graphic artist, and gave her an overview of the board discussions. I'm sure cindilu2 will agree that Sally's lessons in graphic art have influenced many in the CA fandom. Here is what she said:

Publishers and designers are going for an emotional, visceral response, not an artistic one. They want the arm reaching to pick up the product before the mind engages. In the stores, the album cover will stand out and grab people. Many will reach for it.

The first thing I thought of was being back in a Woolworth's in the 1950's because the green matches the glassware that was so popular then, a fond memory from the past.

Decca is doing a damn good job with this project and paying some damn good money. The album cover is distinctive, eye-catching, and engages the heart and hand before the mind.

If a person picks up the CD, it's halfway sold.

    wandacleo, love your post!

Checking in from the final weekend of college basketball ... and the continuing journey with Clay Aiken! :)

I cannot tell you how much a pleasure it was to check in here to an angst=-free zone about the album cover. I can appreciate that some may not like it. What is hard to read are those posts that suggest that the poster believes she is the arbiter of all things commercial about the impact of album cover on sales and appeal to the general public. In my humble opinion some are too hung up on "there are soooooo many more handsome pics of Clay." Sure there are, but that is not the point of fashioning the album cover, I don't think. Here is what I wrote at the OFC:

When I first logged on to CV and saw that a picture that just might be the album art was available I clicked on without reading any of the comments. My first impression -WOW! I loved the mood, the colors, and of course the subject. I didn't think this is the best picture ever that shows Clay in all his handsomeness-(I think AIW and ATDW did that for me) but that really wasn't an issue for me in terms of how this pic worked as an album cover. It conveyed a mood and a feel that seemed perfect for the era and just as importantly for my enjoyment seemed like a work of art, classy. I also found it eye-catching, intriguing, important qualities in perhaps encouraging the casual buyer to pick it up and look at it and actually read the track list.

I have read comments such as "dull" and I find it just the opposite. I cannot wait until it is available. And if the record were available in LP format? Be still my heart. One of the reasons that I miss LPs is for the art-how terrific to have this available.

And although I have seen what I believe to be more "handsome" pics of Clay, I still like this picture of him very much. And I think it works beautifully for the project.

    Well done, Clay.

So excited about the tour!!!! duckyvee and I will be going to Reno (across the country) and also Lancaster, PA...15 minutes from my home!) Looking forward to seeing many of you at all the concerts.

For those who can remember, did they show the OMWH album art before they had the tracklist on Amazon? I am having fun checking the rankings again. Ealier in the week it was in the #800's. It was as high as #75 yesterday. The tour announcement on AI contributed to the increase (pretty good as Clay didn't sing) but I think the addition of the album art was responsible for the increase increase in rank.

Cagney, what awesome posts here and at the OFC! I understand Clay has been signing on over there. Hope he saw it!

Went to sleep thinking about how much I love this cover. Woke up thinking about it, too. (Why, oh why can't we choose our dreams, huh? Demmit). And my conclusion is that I love it and him even more than I did yesterday. Amazing how that can keep happening even after seven years.

LOL, cindilu2, we have a mutual artistic friend who had x-rated dreams last night after viewing your high resolution version. :cryingwlaughter:

I think what is being forgotten is that this is not being promoted to "just us"...Clay is looking to garner new fans...people who are not going to analyze every little thing, like his hair or his ears or whether his eyebrows are plucked and shaped just so and are his cheekbones accented and did they capture his essence and on and on. They are going to see this cover and hopefully be intrigued enough by the style and the content to pick it up and buy it.

    WORD, aikim!

Think I'll see what the high-rez version looks like on my laptop. :whistling-1:

Thank goodness I'm on Spring Break. I usually blog every three days, but the tour news was too good to wait. This summer's 17-city, three-week "Timeless Tour" by Clay and Ruben is the focus at Carolina On My Mind ... plus media buzz abounds!

Tour dates, Clay-Ruben wallpapers by Fountaindawg, video of Ruben's tour plug on AI9, and links to several sites promoting the reunion are featured.

Clay Cyberspace is definitely in EmoticonEEEEE.gif mode!

Thnx for your visits, comments, tweets, retweets, etc. Have an awesome weekend, all! :BlowKiss:

LOL, keeping up with NCAA basketball and organizing a blog at the same time is not easy. I did that throughout most of the first game, so there is a new Carolina On My Mind entry that features the "Examiner" article with extra photos gathered from the story's numerous links. Hope you enjoy. Thnx for your visits, comments, tweets, retweets, support! :)

Congratulations to the Final Four teams (in no particular order): West Virginia, Duke, Butler, and Michigan State! :yahoo:

We are on the edge of a tornado, so I should think about signing off. Have a great evening new week, all! :BlowKiss:

  17. TGIF

For the techie people..Over the last week I have gotten 3 emails - 2 from someone registered here in 2008 but not a poster and one from someone I work my sit on my ass job with - she's in another country - and all three emails only had a link. I just deleted them cuz it looks suspicious. Has anyone had a similar experience. I'm thinking virus if I click on the link?

Definitely virus! I don't know if it is related, but I know the folks on the Clay Aiken Hub Yahoo mailing list were getting e-mails like that, because a couple of the folks on the list had gotten infected and the virus was sending out e-mails to all the people in their address books. I received several, but they had the [Hub] tag which made it easier for me to notice them, and I just deleted them. I always delete e-mail that just has a link, but could be fooled if it came from someone I know well and regularly correspond with. Luckily, that hasn't happened so far. Thanks for the warning to be on the lookout.

Sally sent the following warning to people on her email list. I don't know if this is what you are talking about or not.

Do not open email messages starting with "a wise choice" - my email account was hacked.

I've changed passcodes and denied access to the intruder.

I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you..

Besides what she wrote above, she reported the email as spam. I hate this part of the Internet.

    Great blog, caro!

    Thnx, tree. :BlowKiss:

Still enjoying basketball -- sometimes one game on TV and one on my computer. :snoopy:
