  1. Alive and well at the Genetti in Williamsport, PA! ....as are many others. For me coming south from Buffalo, the roads were bare and dry all the way. Tomorrow is another day. I'm SO glad I came!! I can see the buses in the alleyway behind me (with a small group around) and I THINK every now and again I can hear Clay in snatches...but it could be just someone in one of the rooms playing music! :lmaosmiley-1: ETA: NOPE! It's definitely Clay! EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I'm so excited for tonight...hoping to find someone to have a bite with before the concert. I've seen ClayizzaQT and also a big group from Raleigh/Greensboro, not all of whom I know, but not Scarlett or anyone who looks like she might be chacha or xxx4clay and rainlover. I'm off to the representin' list to see who might be here. Lat-ah!!
  2. Leaving very shortly...I'm in Buffalo, and it's cold but clear. Keep praying friends, you're doing an amazing job!! I'm distinctive as well....midheight, wide and I have very short spiky hair. luckiest1 I'm praying hard for all of us! Keeping excellent thoughts that the storm will in fact hold off until Monday and we'll all be OK!! See you in Erie!
  3. I apologize, but I can NOT cut a thing from these two amazing posts.... Nodding my head so hard I about broke my neck! I remember the Chicago booksigning...I got an extra moment because I was an (unintentional) idiot...but what I really remember was his entry to the bookstore. He looked scared to death, and as I knew about the meds and the panic at that time, I was frightened FOR him, and SO proud of him for carrying on. I'm still proud of him, every single day. Thanks for the good wishes re the trip! I'm taking it one day and one mile at a time. Keeping my fingers crossed for all the other travelers as well!
  4. Lordy, somebody shut me up!! But thought this might ease a few minds including mine....here is the weather forecast for Williamsport Williamsport extended forecast and Erie: Erie extended Sounds like it'll be OK.
  5. Well, I read that Clay had Jamie take her notes from her and that is what upset someone there. I have to admit, if Clay had Jamie take something away from me I would be upset. When Jerome recites the rules, no note taking has never been mentioned. I mean, was he saying anything in this M&G that would cause trouble is it was ever read in someone's notes? I doubt it, since it would inevitably end up on a message board anyway! Who knows what really happened, but we all know Clay can be pissy and has a bad temper sometimes. Did he nicely ask the note taker to stop? Did he ask her nicely to relinquish the notes? Did he explain to her why he didn't want her notes to leave the room? Was she obnoxious and refuse? Who knows, but from the reports I read he sounded like he was just being pissy. Seriously, to have Jamie take her notes away like she had just cheated on a test? Clay is human. He must have good days and bad days and be in good moods and bad moods. But he is also in a position where he needs to check his bad mood at the door during things like M&G. If a fan gets out of hand, he has Jerome. I personally cannot imagine what it was about some woman taking notes that would warrant what allegedly happened. I do know if something like this happened at a M&G I had won, it would have soured my entire experience. Which is why I never enter to win M&Gs. I have my fantasies about Clay and I want to keep them firmly intact. Besides, if I had my picture taken with him, I would have photographic evidence that I really am old enough to be his mother!!!! Talk about shattering your fantasies! Sorry to post-ho....I think perhaps you should reread both the M&G's original post and atinal's which you quoted...nothing of the sort was said in either. This is a good illustration as to how these stories get started.
  6. I have a 4.5 hr drive to Williamsport...and then a 4.5 hr drive to Erie the day after. I'm SKEERED!!!! and I'm driving alone. The only consolation, I guess, is that I don't think the weather people have any more clue than I do what the weather is going to be. I'll see what it looks like when I get up in the AM I guess. Is there anyone in the Williamsport area already that would like to have my (very good) ticket if I can't get there? PM me if you are interested. It's only one ticket. WOW, I find this interesting....so your performance appraisals are built on assessing someone's personality, if I'm understanding you correctly? And if their personality is not suited to the job, just HTH are they supposed to change THAT I'd like to know?? As you've already said, and it's so true, skills are teachable...attitudes are not. Interestingly, I had to drop into the library this afternoon quick as I was on my lunch hour and had to pick up a hold and drop a book off before I leave on Friday. There was one person in line in front of me; they were taking quite a while, not sure why. In the meantime, at least 10 other people lined up behind me. There were two staff members standing on the opposite side of the desk playing on the computer and loudly (audibly to all in line) discussing a cooking show on TV that they both follow, and it's finale last night (I guess). They turned to look at the lineup but continued to discuss the show. Finally one of them wandered over to the service side of the counter and looked at me without a word said; her friend continued to discuss the show with her. Person A took my book, processed it and all the while carried on her personal conversation without a single word said to me. The whole time Person B was talking to her while semi-laying stretched across the service counter with her back to the customers. If I hadn't been in such a rush I would have asked for a supervisor. It was truly disgraceful. And no, :lmaosmiley-1: I wasn't cranky when I went IN!!
  7. Heh, that has to win the prize for the most expensive NYT purchase. I thought mine was bad, but it was "only" $8.40. Oh yup, mine too actually...I included the tax! Most I've ever paid in my life for a paper...but it also had a reeeelly cool magazine in it, and a travel article I'm sending to my son the adventurer so I guess I sort of got my money's worth. Not that even without the other stuff I wouldn't have bought it just for Clay!
  8. ansamcw, love every word of your post but especially the quoted....this time, I'll try not to rinse and repeat. Just had to come with a little eeeeeeeeehhhhhhh for my New York Times which I picked up from Chapters last night....$9.00!! Holy Gawd!! And a big EEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH for the Spamalot commercial!! It's starting before the tour is even over! I think this is going to be just amazing for that Clay person. :04: :00000442: :laola0:
  9. Yes, but I bet hers don't say "Tuesday"! :lmaosmiley-1: Looks over her shoulder....nope! They say "Tuesday December 11, Two thousand and seven"...with room to spare! Yup! That too!!
  10. My feelings on Spamalot clack are also simple. I will also not participate in anything that may hurt, embarrass, or make Clay angry. My opinion is there's been enough of that in his life already, and although I had nothing to do with it, I'm certainly not going to contribute to it. I'm pleased to see that some discussion appears to have taken place amongst the administrators of some of the large vaults, and it appears they will comply as well. To me, it's really simple. Respect. He is more than kind, generous and respectful to us...I'd like to be able to return that respect and consideration when it is requested. I would do that for anyone I cared about. Couldn't have said it better than luckiest1 but as usual, I had to rinse and repeat. My trip to NYC is far from solid...but if I don't end up being able to go, I'm going to put on my big girl panties and suck it up....hope at least some others will do the same.
  11. WOW, I'm so far behind after being at my company's AGM in Calgary since the 1st....but a few things I wanted to comment on.... Meeeeee!!.....if it stops snowing so I can get outta Dodge! I rarely wish that Clay would "cover" songs....but this one is my "all-time-keep-your-fingers-crossed-every-single-year" wishlist piece as well. I think it would be completely amazing. Slightly off centre is not only best, but a position most of us occupy much of the time. I see it's already been taken care of, but for any other Canadians, Chapters usually has them...and they're usually at least a day late, so that gives you time to get there. I haven't been able to view or DL (yet....) much clack from this tour as RL has intervened bigtime. I'm off to my concerts on Friday hopefully, and am really looking forward to being relatively unspoilered for this tour. I have what looks like being good seats to all the venues for once in my life, and a new, smaller camera that I hope will be able to get some decent concert pics for my use. I usually just take a few for my personal souvenirs...mine aren't up to clack quality. The other thing I am greatly enjoying doing since I bought it, is recording with my Zen. The quality of the file is decent, could probably be improved with some audio editing...and I just love having this audio souvenir as well! Looking forward to seeing/meeting whoever is going to be in Williamsport, Erie, Minneapolis, Merrillville. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  12. No, FromClaygary, you are perfectly normal. Yah, I kind of thought maybe. Hope I can get there before they're all gone....I need a scarf to cry over.
  13. THANK YOU for bringing that over! I had been looking/watching/waiting and missed it. As luckiest1 said....don't miss reading this! I know Suz, and know how she talks; I wondered how she was going to do this. She's a dear lady, but half the time I can't understand ONE WORD she says! :lmaosmiley-1: Glad to know there will be some FCA'ers there! Hope to have a chance to say Hi! Pictures here at CB, one with the vest (gah): CB Did I misunderstand? There are some FAB-O pics of Clay there, but no picture of the scarf that I could see. Ditto! :lmaosmiley-1: ...and thanks for bringing the scan over! Am I beyond help if I cry when I see a picture of a scarf??
  14. Yes, me too....and I'm not entirely sure it's NOT going to...but it seems late to notify them now.
  15. WOW....I see there are a couple of disappointed people at CV who were contacted to clarify/test their stories, but have not heard back about actually reading them for sure. THAT would be tough....I'm not sure it's over with for sure for them, but if it doesn't happen it's very disappointing. Poor Clay~he's between a rock and hard place again! Poor let-down peeps!
  16. Where are you finding a forecast out that far? The only sites I can find only will go out about a week. I'd like to see how it's looking for my drive from Buffalo to Williamsport and Erie...not that I want to scare myself to death!
  17. From happyclayday on CV: to Gibby and all the rest whose "little hope" has "gone up in smoke". Next time I hope!
  18. Awwww, crap!! .....but keeping my fingers crossed for the next two! ETA: I'm still working on my son's 1000 or so pictures from his SE Asia trip...hoping to get them finished and burned to a DVD slideshow for him before I head that way for Christmas (on Dec 2). There are some gorgeous pics once they're turned/lightened/sharpened/filled
  19. Exactly!! :lmaosmiley-1: And there was just something about the way he phrased it....muski? I could visualize THAT look on his face again...that flippin' 6 and 9 look. THIS from CV from Claysfayevorite, I absolutely loved:
  20. Awwww....those are some very, very nice articles! Thanks for bringing them over luckiest1 Is it just me, or does our BF's "love affair" with us just shine through in those? There's just something about the wording used that makes me all schmoopie. :F_05BL17blowkiss: Of course, I AM going to have to slap him upside the head if he says one more time that we're here because we love music, American Idol, and each other...in that order. Not that we've not acquired good and lasting friendships....but honey...it's YOU!!!
  21. Yeeks, our power was just off for about an hour. This time, I had the brains to unplug everything before it came back on. Last time....well, let's just say I have a new computer now. Definitely not the only one worried about Spamalot! OTOH, I'm just a worrier...but this is so perfect for Clay, and the timing and everything (hopefully) for CD release...keeping everything crossed!! I SO want to combine a Gala and Spamalot in NYC.
  22. Not sure if this is really your question...but Itunes songs won't play if you "move" them from their original location. To fix that, just double click (if your associations for .mp3's are set to Itunes) and it will add it again to Itunes in its new location. Or, if associations are not set to Itunes, right click the new location and select "Open with". Hope that helps!!
  23. Watergate Salad is more of a dessert that the kids demand for the holidays -- whether Christmas or the 4th of July. It's a box of Jello pistachio pudding mixed with a can of crushed pineapple with juice, folding in 2 cups of miniature marshmallows and a tub of Cool Whip and then a cup of chopped pecans or walnuts, and cherries -- and coconut is optional. I don't have a clue where the name comes from, but it's pretty well known by that name and we've been making it since the 70's. Ahh, got it, thanks! That sounds like what we call Ambrosia salad...and it is, except I'm allergic to the pistachios so it's a no-go for me. :lmaosmiley-1:
  24. I've never thought of us as having "Canadian" food, other than the obvious things like tortiere and poutine which are very Quebecois rather than Canadian, I think. Nor have I really noticed typical "American" food while I'm there. I see the same ol' same ol' pretty much everywhere I go in the US. But some of the stuff you guys are eating just blows my mind!! (mostly in a good way, you understand) What the heck is "watergate salad"?? Squash?? Ewwwww! Who made you eat that?? PS...my chicken italiano pizza was not bad!!
