  1. *sigh* This is me. And why do I let it happen? Once or twice a year...I seem to get sucked in...then I retreat to my safe place, regroup and vow to never again share my thoughts with bulldozers. Thanks Zena.
  2. I for one hope he never closes the OFC. I have a home there. It's small...just 12-15 of us, but we have been posting together since the beginning. I very seldom wander beyond Stuff...the once or twice a year that I do, I usually share my opinion with people who don't really want to hear it, step on some toes, make some apologies or accept some, and am reminded of why I stay in Stuff. In a thread where Clay is seldome even mentioned. Others have formed friendships in other threads. It's not all dark and dreary there. But if that is all you go to read...then that is all you will find. There are a lot of very caring people who never get into the disputes. Their love for Clay and acceptance of whatever he chooses to do, because it is his to decision to make, is accepted.....just as it is here. Some areas of the OFC...are just as good as here...generally without all the fun smutting and pretty pictures. Though I guess there is a thread full of pretties....I just never seem to wander there.
  3. Karen Eh, we've never met....but I have admired your work!! Who hasn't? LOL I can not wait to see what kind of pictures you come up with, while in Baku! Not the Aiken...granted. But they will still be treats for the eyes....I am sure. Enjoy your adventure! Um....and according to Wikipedia....Houston is one of Baku's 16 sister cities! To all with the great External Hard Drive advice and links....I think I'm gonna do it!! S**n! Thanks!
  4. Ugh! No fair! No fair!! I wanna download! I wanna burn!! ( I also wanna Mario Cart to drive over ph's ass!) I have a groaning hard drive and a hubby who thinks enough is enough. I have a brand new DVD burner installed by son...that isn't working...and son is now out of town on business for over a week. I don't dare download more, just yet and I can't burn what I have. I think I will be requesting an external hard drive for Christmas.....and lessons on how to use it.. Hey Manderly!
  5. So.....it was really hot this summer, eh? Am I the only one who thinks the air conditioning must have been turned up to high when this picture was taken? It seems be have been a bit nippley that night..... OH! That's a button......? Never mind..................... atinal....I'm so sorry your SIL felt she had to give you grief about Clay. Is the disappointment because she will never like Clay, or was it in discovering someone who's opinion mattered to you.....was prejudice? I ran into a similar situation with a dear friend and was stunned to discover how unaccepting of people's differences they were. I guess it had never come up before and I had assumed their opinion wouldn't be that different from mine. I was sad to discover otherwise.
  6. These are some of the most enjoyable, positive posts I have read in such a long time. All the Nelly Negatives out there make me nuts. It's nice to feel the Clay-love. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  7. Oh booger balls!! As usual work keeps me from having any fun and from sharing by vast wealth of useless knowledge. Ding dang it. Skunk spray? Try milk. Really! We had a cat get sprayed full in the face....in our garage....at 2 in the morning. Luckily just the week before, on Paul Harvey's News and Comments, he had suggested using milk....something about it being a neutralizer and working well. So...at 2 in the morning, with no tomato juice to spare and access to zilch (we were living in Michigan's upper peninsula at the time), but two babies in the house....there was plenty of milk....so, milk it was. It worked wonderfully!! The garage never stunk after dousing it and the cat didn't smell either. So...file that away in your useless information catalogue, you just never know when you might need it.
  8. Hey no fair!! If I can be opinionated and obnoxious on my first try...you can, too! YSRN...you are right of course. But mine is just as example. I bet in real life...some one has asked the kid. But I guess it's more an exercise in how someone right to have fun often invades someones right to a peaceful evening. It's all about compromise. I bet most don't want e to stop or go away....just tone it down a bit.
  9. Newbie...with issues.... Sorry. First...I have been in negotiations with e and we have settled our differences...so all is good. I guess it is easy to enjoy antics when it is viewed in down loads or an occasional thing. Or you have more patience then I. Way back when this fandom started I absolutely loved e, I remember finally locating her at the first Christmas concert and getting all giddy. 'Woo-hoo! There she was! That's her!' But by the 6th tour it became a ''Oh for heavens sake" moment. This year I went straight to eye roll...praying the conversation would end quickly...especially when the B-B-Q sauce 'suck him down' talk started. Just no. Not with 11-13 yr old in the audience. Yeah..they're more savvy then I like to give them credit....I just don't want to know about it. In discussing my problem with the Mr. it finally took this example, for him to get what I was trying to say.. It's much like the neighborhood kid who blast his music as loud as he wants...day or night. He's not breaking any laws. But his need to prove his coolness...to prove that he too has rights, it is more important to him, then anyone else's discomfort. So subtle hints are dropped by the neighbors. 'Wow, your radio sure is loud'. 'Hey I can't hear the tv'! 'Your music kept me awake last night'. And the kid thinks...."They can't tell ME what to do!! I'm just havin' a little fun!" And pretty soon....the neighbors are calling him a 'good for nothing punk', 'that hoodlum', they yell, "Hey! turn it down!" and so it goes. It escalates and becomes a big ole mess. All because it was more important for him to blast his music and impress his friends, have fun his way then to heed the subtle hints and requests of neighbors and compromise. They didnt want him to stop enjoying his music and having fun. Just not so loud. But in the end. He is...just a kid. There is hope he will eventually grow up and out of the habit. Might I also add...booing is never a good thing! Just as saying someone doesn't like black folks, in front of how many other people? Is just a tad out of line. I'd like to think both have regrets...yet neither has commented. On a happier note....I like what I see here. I like the linear thread concept.....makes it much easier to move on and get on with it! And you have just the purdiest pictures....evah!!
