Scarlett I get what you are saying and it makes no sense to me considering what the fandom has been through in the past that fans would be so willing to believe that this was Clay. I think it is a combination of fans wanting a connection to Clay and just not using any common sense...it is totally unlike Clay. And I don't think you can blame it on youth, immaturity, etc. because they are some older fans who are just as gullible, IMO. Kim

One of the perks (at least for me) working at the library is that I get to go through the boxes of donations that come...so today I am going through one and what do I find...2 Tiger Beat Monkee Spectaculars from 1968 (okay they are reprints of the originals printed in Nov, 1987); couldn't wait to get home and look at them...talk about a walk down memory lane! So the first feature is 75 facts about the Monkees...now I am not going to post all 75 facts, but some I got a kick out of and some are tangently related to Clay... Micky hand makes his own beads. Peter digs English muffins! Mike always believes in telling the truth. (sound like Clay?) Davy often calls girls "darlin" (reminds me of another singer man) Micky likes the feel of silk (sounds kinky!) Mike misses fresh black-eyed peas the way they are made in the South. Peter digs long gowns on girls Davy orders shirts specially made in England (wonder if he likes Paul Smith) All the Monkees love miniskirts. Okay girls...I know you wanted to know this: How To score with Davy: Ask his advice and praise him; especially on his marvelous taste in clothes and jewelry. And I think I have discovered a new party game...read the magazine and take a shot everytime the word "groovy" is used...unfortunately, you probably will pass out before you get to page 3! Kim

Wildcard Clay...one of my favorite performances! The first time I ever saw the sexy in Clay was Wildcard Finale...at one point in the song he wrapped his arms around himself and turned his head to left (sort of like the pose in Rolling Stone) and I was like, Whoa! Does anyone know what I am talking about? So we are beginning renovation on our living room and I come home to find that my husband has packed up all the books in our bookcase...of course; none of the boxes are labeled...guess I won't be reading for a while! At least this will keep me busy until Clay re-surfaces. We've been wanting to do this for a while, but anytime we renovate it becomes a battle of wills. I have ideas of what I want and he has his own ideas. This should be real interesting! Kim

Made my day too! They don't play Clay very much around here; so when I do hear him it brings a big smile to my face. I remember hearing him at Wal-Mart and just walking around the store until the song was over with a big goofy grin on my face! Kim

Boy, am I glad to be home...I love starting out my day getting yelled at...so much for libraries being quiet...all because we have a librarian who doesn't want to do his work and pawns it off on everybody else. Off to have some leftover pizza for dinner. Kim

Yes there is a Travel Channel...my favorite show is Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations; it is sort of a travel documentary/cooking show all in one...he goes to different countries and not only gives you some history but also tastes all the different cuisines...he goes from the poorest parts of countries to the richest and everything in between. Plus he has a kind of weird sense of humor so it is funny at times. I swear the man has eaten every part there can be from an animal...I wouldn't eat half the stuff he puts in his mouth. He is actually a chef, so knows food. But he is not a food snob...he will actually admit to liking Kraft mac and cheese! Kim

Fear I seldom watch network TV anymore...like you said; too many reality shows...I like the Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel and I do watch TVland at times and another channel that we get that plays old TV shows...I love the classics...Mary Tyler Moore, Newhart, Dick Van Dyke...yeah, I am getting old! Books to take on an Island: For me it would have to be anything by Stephen King; I don't read a lot of fiction; mostly non-fiction...history and biographies. Top favorite Clay songs: 1. A Thousand Days Hubby finally picked up his new/old truck...a 1970 Chevy Truck...he is like a kid on Christmas morning...keeps walking over to the window to look at it sitting in the driveway, LOL!
