  1. njrp, I'm not sure why you picked us to share your unhappiness with, and not sure what you were hoping to accomplish by posting all that here, but we've had our quota today, so I'm just going to say I'm sorry you feel bad but I don't share your opinions.
Well, that and ya pulled apart my quotarama and made me feel all bad and stuff...

    :lmaosmiley-1:

Pssst! Fellow mods! I think canfly is under the mistaken impression that one of y'all has actual, like, technical know-how and stuff! Who's gonna break it to her?

Well, I'm used to that "blind leading the blind" AKA "dumb and dumber" thing, lol. rolleyes-1.gif

  2. What's the Survivor Game?

lol...I just edited that out of my post, so now everybody is going huh???

Survivor Game: We start with a list of songs from a concert or CD and give 'em all points.

If you like a song lots, you give it 2 points. If it's not one of your favourites, you take away 2 points.

Used to play with everybody got 3 votes. Trying it with everybody getting 5 votes. I was looking up youtubes to post for people to watch to re-fresh their memories before voting.

    It's a good diversion.

  3. Here is the YouTube link This must be seen by EVERYONE!

OK, fine ya made me click the link, lol.

    Oye.

I'm having a blast revisiting the Sterling Heights DCAT/SRHP concert. I think this might even be one montage series that goldarngirl won't have to play slave driver........I may be finished reviewing the clack before she even starts working on it.

Oddly enough, I was searching for Sterling Heights Listen and for the Classics last night for another reason last night. Look familiar?

(am I stupid or we not set up to embed youtubes here?)

  4. Demmit. No purdy pitchurs yet on page 64. Did I mention that you people talk alot?

    Right. I did.

Oh, I think she could save it for an appropriate time.......like when he lifts up his pant legs to show us his socks.

    OMG

BWAH~ Omg...what a riot that would be! I bet Clay would guffaw! :cryingwlaughter: He pulls up his pants legs and someone yells, "Nice HOSE, dude!"

    :scream:

Ah, canfly, mon chere chérie, a lagniappe is a little something extra, a little present, a little sweet...the chef winking at ya as he gives you the good dessert (and you wink back)...

    Word of the day: lagniappe

    Oops. Too late.

This tickled me 'coss last year in Houston I met someone who only knew me by my stories. When she was introduced to me, she about had a cow. I kept feeling her looking at me and when I asked her what was wrong, she just said in a daze, "You...you just look so.....NORMAL."

    BWAH!

    Looks can be deceiving huh?

    :lmaosmiley-1:

Just a few thoughts based on this morning's comments....

There are two scenarios which make sense to me on the baby issue.

    1) Clay and Jaymes are in a committed relationship.

    • Because, I don't believe anyone would ask a 50 yr old 'friend' to carry a baby for you.
    -or-

    2) Clay is not the father, and Jaymes just decided to get PG with someone else's swimmers.

then another possibility rears its head.

IF she wanted a baby, and Clay was available to her, or he volunteered to do it.

but also this would take a huge committment.........

You can't just count back 7 months and say Clay was busy doing this or that.

IF this is Clay's baby, they would have had to plan, the procedures alone would take preparation and time. At any given time in the past year and a half, Clay could have had sperm frozen anywhere in the US or Canada. The procedure may not have 'taken' the first time.

Bottom line, we still don't know if Clay is involved, and if he is, I personally don't believe it has anything to do with his being gay. Which I don't believe he is.

Makes sense...but it just hit me that I've had enough of the damned speculating...

So...I'm doing a quick scroll for anything amusing and then heading for the purdy pitchurs that I saw last time I posted...

    Heh. Found something amusing...

    I'm confused...

So, should I scratch "Nice hose, dude!" off the list of appropriate things to scream at Clay when he's on-stage / in the bus line / at another stage door or not?

    Likely. :lmaosmiley-1:

    3. Showing feministic traits or not showing them doesn't mean diddly squat!!!! Unless, of course, you're looking for an excuse to put a label on someone.

    4. Saying Clay is lonely because of the songs he sings is like saying he really soils his jeans in real life because of doing it in a part he played. He has said repeatedly that these songs are not necessarily about him but some people keep trying to make OMWH biographical!!! He loves good lyrics. All these songs have good lyrics (IMO) and he has quite easily interpreted them. He sells songs. We know that. He sells them very well. But I don't think that necessarily means they're about him.

    :word:

    I'm confused...

So, should I scratch "Nice hose, dude!" off the list of appropriate things to scream at Clay when he's on-stage / in the bus line / at another stage door or not?

Screaming it at him? No. But you could text him....

    choke.gif

"it's exactly why I don't buy the suggestion that she is doing this just for him, like a vessel."

Oooh, you mean there was a boat??

Was it sort of like a dinner cruise?????????

BWAH! I can so hear him in my head!

"it's exactly why I don't buy the suggestion that she is doing this just for him, like a vessel."

Oooh, you mean there was a boat??

Was it sort of like a dinner cruise?????????

Wait...so does this mean that, as King Arthur said, the hose is withIN us? And if anybody asks if somebody swallowed it?

    :PickMe-1: :lipstick:

    BWAH again!!!

    :lmaosmiley-1:

I would love him even if he was from Jupiter and smoked illegal Cuban cigars and had a secret swimming pool in his basement because he liked lying to his fans.

Hell no. If that's the case, then I'm walkin'.

    :lmaosmiley-1:

    Now where da pitchurs at????

  6. Clayzor, if what you say is true, you'll have to add "fucking stupid" to the list, because you'd have to be fucking stupid to ask someone Jaymes' age to bear a child for you.
OK, so I'll keep out of the fucking stupid debate BUT I will say that after re-watching Leno once cuz somebody was reading something into the Baby song and Clay joking about doing the extended version later. I didn't think that he'd be joking about that but here's the thing that DID stick with me: He had gone on recently about looking old and fat...well since getting off of the Paxil, he can't joke about getting fat, but he continues to joke about getting older. If he were having a child with Jaymes, I really can't see him going on and on about how old 30 is. Wouldn't that be kind of insulting? I know, I know...some are going to say that it proves that he thought he needed to get started on the father thing NOW cuz he's getting so old and all...

    rolleyes-1.gif

I noticed in that CNN piece that Clay stated that he hadn't been in LA in 9 months. That was from an interview when the AOL Sessions were recorded, which was mid-May. That got me to thinking--this scenario of Clay being the father, given the time period involved, requires that he drop off some sperm and then head off to Raleigh for tour rehearsals, go off on a Christmas tour, head to Mexico with his family (and no Jaymes) for UNICEF, off to NY for Spamalot rehearsals, followed by months of a grueling schedule of recording and doing the show every night, as well as some advance PR for the album. So if the actual gestation period is longer than 9 months, there was probably time to be present for an IVF process in late October somewhere and then take off for the rest of the time, otherwise, the sperm was frozen and he wasn't even around at all.

    Makes me wonder IIT.

Good girl. Basically. Stuff could have had to have been frozen for a long time. But he's been verra, verra busy for quite some time. He did a Summer tour. He did a Christmas tour. He went to Mexico for Christmas. He jumped right into rigorus (sp?) Spamalot rehearsals, then a grueling schedule of Spamalot and recording the album.

I had a funny dream last night which led to me waking up thinking, he's going to be in a movie in which he's a father, and somehow this got twisted into him being a father in RL. And it was a girl.
lmao. Actually, unless medical records were leaked, how would anybody know that the baby is going to be a boy. Would serve 'em right, if it's a girl, lol.

They may not agree with with his stance to not attempt to clear this up but did you see Brad and Angelina trying to clear it up when the rags were saying Brad was moving out and leaving Angelina? No. It was all over the newstands. Next thing you know, they're having twins. Oh and then they were born and had names and then oops... They've taken the exact same stance of not addressing what's being said about them.

I posted here last week about channel-surfing onto a bit on CNN Showbiz about an actress who was really angry because a magazine article had implied she'd had an affair with Bill Clinton. Her statement was very specific about the three times she'd met him and what the circumstances were. Someone from TMZ was commenting that her strong denial was PROOF that it's true. LOL. So last night I came home and turned on headline news to see if they were still showing the Clay bit, and Showbiz started up, and what are they talking about?? This woman who supposedly had an affair with Bill Clinton. So, no, denying it will not kill the story.

It's pretty apparent that denying a story will NOT kill it. There really isn't much point in Clay denying anything to the rags or on TV programs.

IIT, I wish everyone concerned all happiness, but IINT, I would really enjoy seeing the egg on the faces of a whole bunch of media who have run with this, with the only confirmation that Clay is the father coming from a statement from David Foster's publicist, who says he was misquoted. As for fans that will be pissed that he didn't deny it IINT, I'd say, you shoulda known better than to believe it.

    :clap::word: X 100

He won't, but if he was to ever ask me, I would advise him to just come out. Let the chips fall where they are and live his life. Find true love. It would be the best thing to happen to his career in my opinion. He would probably be surprised at the amount of respect it would give him from the industry and his peers. Seing as how I believe his OTT fans are an albatross around his neck, way more than who he sleeps with has ever been. If he came out, then there would be no need for fans to engage the swamp people. No need to even go to sights like PH or John what's his name? No need for fans to go and protect him on every site they can find with a gay inuendo made on there. Or a less than flattering statement made about Clay in some obscure person's blog. There would be no need for the late night comics and others to make jokes insinuating his sexuality. There would be no need for fans keeping tabs on other fans who might believe he is gay. It would put an end to fans at OFC trying to run other fans off who belong to the OC board, or who think he is gay. It would put an end to sooooooo much. Mainly, and more importantly, it would be the most freeing thing Clay could do for himself.
And if he's not (and I really believe that he's not). If he was gay, don't you think that he WOULD have said so by now? Really? Why put himself through all of this crap?

All these things are on my list of why he probably isn't gay. My Fake Clay wouldn't mind at all coming out if he were gay, but he can't come out if he isn't gay. Hence, "It would not make sense for me to do that," to Diane Sawyer.

    :word:

When I first listened to his new cd I came away feeling very sad for Clay. Just listen to the words of the songs that he chose to put on this cd. Yes, I know he said they don't necessarily relate to him. However, I disagree somewhat. They had to resonate with him, somewhat, otherwise he wouldn't of chosen them. I hear a man who is terribly lonely, and conflicted. A man struggling with the idea of staying in this business or giving it up so that he could live his life, A man who is tired and weary of his fans and their unsatiable needs that he can't seem to satisfy no matter how hard he tries.
LAA aside, I think that we listened to a different CD. I got an overall feeling of rising above it all.

    (mind outta the gutter Muski)

I gave Clay the benefit of believing him, when he says he is not, but no more.
You've suddenly stopped believing him becaussssssssssssssse?

OK, so a good chunk of that page got too heavy for canfly, so back to the fluff...

Everyone has their own private 'Fake Clay', though very few have attempted to communicate via text messages.

Even funnier, that she went back in and edited it to be "shoes" and then went on talking about houses, lol.

That was just page 60? Man. You people talk a lot.

  7. Morning all!

I just wanna smack some people upside the head. So, if they believe he's the daddy, so what? Is that something so horrible? That somehow in their minds negates anything else he's done and makes him a bad person or what?
    Yeah, that! :grrrr:

Nice day here, and I'm going to try and stay off the other boards, because I pretty much agree with all the rants here overnight. Just trying not to go there anymore, I get too pissed off. I think many people have assumed that Faye's comment about exciting news was about the baby, when that may well NOT have been the case. And I'd rather look forward in anticipation, or backwards at wonderful memories, than dwell on angst that has no reason or basis in fact. So, here's to tour news, or career news, and great clack. :cocktail:

I think that I've managed to not get too pissed off because I HAVEN'T gone to any other boards (where I heard it was nasty). I've stuck with here and the Shed cuz despite some differing opinions, people have been able to remain, after a couple of bumps, for the most part respectful of each other and respectful of Clay on both boards.

I really hope that what Faye was referencing is gonna be something cool for his career! I shall remain optimistic!

Re: tour news. We got "fall" from Jerome and possibly fall from Clay....or something to that effect. We usually don't get an official announcement until we already have a smattering of dates. So, here's to the first confirmation of a fall concert! (may TPTB deem to arrange some within driving distance on a Saturday!)

Just read some more and read some emails. Honestly, I'm having a REAL problem with people saying Clay has deceived them, misrepresented himself, etc. The "I'll only listen to his CDs - don't care about the man anymore"
I really and truly don't get this mentality.

HOW, do they feel that he deceived them?

Tell them to go watch some Unicef footage.

Tell them to go watch song Long Island NAJNT footage.

We may not know everything that there is to know about Clay Aiken but just looking at those 2 things should tell them what kinda of man he is.

I probably have selective memory... what parts of these clips should I be watching and what would they tell me about "what kind of man he is"? MHO about the people saying that he "deceived them and misrepresented himself" is that they took certain experiences and memories, read out of them what they needed, projected even more stuff they needed on him, and expected him to spend the rest of his life continuing to fit the image they built in their heads. Everyone has their own private 'Fake Clay', though very few have attempted to communicate via text messages.

Me was just talking in generalities. Any of the Unicef footage makes me proud of him and the fact that he sat there and gutted it through the LI show (I do have the right one, yes?) despite having to hold onto the chair for dear life and likely despite wanting to hurl. He did that because he knows how many people travel from great distances to see him. Any other performer would have cancelled.

BTW, I was at the performance Easter weekend that got "cancelled" cuz of his hip and then uncancelled. I'm convinced that he went against orders and said "Hell, no. I'm going on". I was front row and during the "God" scene, when they are all down on their knees, he stayed down way longer than normal and I could see his fingers kind of drumming/trembling on the stage. I'm convinced that he really was in pain. I was worried for a minute that one of them would have to help him up but he got up on his own and nobody who wasn't right up front would have been the wiser and while he didn't kick as high as normal, he sure "soldiered" through.

It gave me the same feeling that the LI clack did. I got almost teary eyed and shmoopy.

I just get pissed hearing about fans who are disowning him cuz they think that...oh whatever they think that I'm not wrapping my brain around.

Oh, and the hat thing in LI wasn't real. I just put that in, fameho that I am. Just kidding. All I really did was delete the part where after asking for my name, he also asked for my phone number.
    Sure. Uh, huh. Right.

I only know what he chose to tell us about his personal life and the rest of it , I just don't care. Some fans were shocked when he joked about his charitable efforts.
Eh? Huh? OK, I just don't wanna know.

All I can say with certainty is that he really cares.

    True dat.

Some want to be peeking in his bedroom window
    If I was Invisible...

    kittenrockinonheadphones.gif

I guess I'll stay a Clay fan as imperfect as he is just because I'm imperfect too and he sings so good.
There ya go...and he ain't half bad to look at either.

    CNN_080607_02.jpg

    :hubbahubba:

ITA with this. I've tried my best to stay away from commenting on the "Clay that I thought I knew" stuff because, IMO, we ALL have an idea of Clay, it's just different for each and every individual. One of the things that I believe about being a Clay fan is that every single one of us has put Clay on a pedestal of some type -- to me, that's simply part of being a fan of his. Fans read things about him, or listen to interviews with him, and that gives some building blocks for that pedestal, based on our own experiences. It's just that some had the pedestal built really high, while others had the pedestal pretty short -- probably short enough that Clay could step off it without hurting himself that much. What many of us discovered these past few weeks was how high the pedestal was for each one of us, and how that differed from other people's perceptions.
I built mine really high but with lotza steps and with a slide and a couple of treevines an elevator.

Hey -- I now know what OPP stands for! *g*
Other than Ontario Provincial Police? It means the guys that pull me over from time to time cuz I drives too fast.

Many may feel that Clay fell off of pedestal
Nah. They out and out shoved him off will both hands.

but my reaction is about the fans and my expectations, and the fandom fell hard this week. I don't often rely on others outside of my family but this is one of the times I let my guard down and expected something more/better from others that did not materialize. I think I read too many posts over the years that said, I will always love him no matter what but the tabloids knocked us down with glee with only one little kick.
That's sad. I guess that I'm not feeling that cuz I'm livin' in my little sheltered world but I'm not likin' what I'm hearin' has been said elsewhere.

We're not faithful. In my eyes, we failed a test.
    We who?

I am trying to understand certain reactions, but am finding that I have a very low tolerance for intolerance and feel like I really don't know this fandom.

I gotta ask...what percentage of the fandom in general do you think are all "disappointed" in him (for something that isn't a bad thing in the first place and may not even be true in the second place). Is it really that bad out there. I don't wanna know do I?

This feeling has been strengthened by reading posts that pretty much are saying he should have thought of the fans and his career - with lists, in case he needed more guidance - before he dared to have a child or form a relationship. WTF?
Are you freakin' kidding me? Seriously?

    :fssign:

Until he starts singing with his penis, though, it's a non-issue for me.

It would be perfect though, lol.

I can't believe how we've gone from the high of spamalot a month ago to so many condemning for...something he may not have had done but hardly matters. He's being disowned cuz they believe that he's... having...a...OMG...a...baby?

    wtfcat.jpg

  9. I've really come to believe that we will NOT hear from either Clay or Jaymes. The baby will be born and then maybe something will be announced about the father. WHo knows. I'm just waiting for some big career news. From my latest understanding, that hint that Faye allegedly made on the cruise in May about something exciting happening in summer that would change his life was career related...
    I'm wit ya!

Oooh....I wonder if maybe he'll have a summer talk show? Hee! Jimmy Kimmel has a summer talk show...maybe Clay will be co-host! Or like an Ed McMahon to Johnny Carson! Or....maybe he'll have a variety show and will sing to us every week! (and then tour in the fall)
Hmmmm...not sure if I want him doing a talk show yet in this point in his career or not. Would be a pretty ironic choice, lol.

Fall tour will be verra hard for canfly to get to. I'd be like "yes, I realize that I just had 2 entire months off but I need 2 weeks more NOW so that I can go gallavanting across the country following Clay Aiken's tourbus.

Yes, I loves me some emotes but I'm definitely not queen of the emoticons. Not by a long shot! Not even close. For every emote that I have, Rubymoon has like 10 to 20, lol.

Some of the emotes appear to have been added before somebody figured out that you can rename them something that makes sense and can be memorized by users, so users don't have to necessarily open up the whole list of emotes for ones that they use a lot.

Couldja, wouldja, consider renaming the ones like: : lmaosmiley-1: to be just :lmao ???

  14. The just re-affirms for me WHY Clay isn't saying anything. He's stubborn, stubborn, stubborn, stubborn and he's said that he's not going to talk about his private life, so he's not going to comment, he's just not.

So those of you who can't wait until August for a comment, may just have to wait forever, lol. He may NEVER address it in an interview, in fact I highly doubt that he will.

He may give us some snark in a concert though. You may have to wait until September or October to get anything from him.

Maybe Jaymes will make a statement. Maybe she won't.

    I'm not holding my breath.

Could be that. Or he's just drawing a line in the sand as far as the media is concerned. Perhaps trying to get this stated clearly before he comes back to promote any Unicef visit and gets asked a million questions about the baby and Jaymes instead.

My message is, whether you believe it or not or are in a "wait and see" mode, there is no sense sitting there bitting your nails and angsting and holding your breath waiting for him to say something...

He ain't talkin' about his personal life. He's made that perfectly clear.

  16. I missed the first one but they are doing teasers on Headline News re: Clay Aiken coming up.

    I saw the second teaser.

OK, he's on NOW...channel 502. They were very clear to say "reportedly" and that he wasn't saying anything about his private life.

They're showing lots of good stuff actually. I think that it was the stuff that they showed on CNN pretty much...but nice to see his face on my TV.

I loved his hair in the new footage BTW. :hubbahubba:

He stated clearly in that interview, which would have been taped shortly after OMWH was released....definitely after the AOL sessions cuz they showed some of that...he CLEARLY stated that he wasn't talking about the tabloid stuff anymore. "We will talk about Spamalot. We will talk about the record and we're not talking about anything else".

OK, they're looping...I caught the first promo spot. She said he'll talk about anything but don't get personal or something like that.

  17. I found that other montage Cotton was talking about...

it's here......... Setting the Record Straight...Again

I think this person did a really good job.

Actually, I saw that right after it was made. It's really good.

It does have the DS Primetime Live stuff in it.

This youtube has the Vancouver Standard stuff and the Ryan Seacrest stuff re: wife material.

Edited cuz I realized that I missed adding the link:

Primetime Live interview, where Diane says that he says he's not gay and he says that it's high time that there's somebody to represent the people who aren't gay but don't sleep around:

Edited cuz I pasted the wrong URL and it was Primetime Live not GMA. Ooops.
