  1. Oh I love the sixties too...this is the time I was first aware of music... I remember Herman;s Hermit and those movies with the British cute boys... oh Gosh...Blakes voice is not up to that...yuck
  2. see I think thats the problem...I didn;t know who sang it when I was a kid but now you mentioned shirley bassie I do remember a really powerful voice that lifted that song and made it ring out...thats what I miss from her version.
  3. I definitely agree with the judges... I seem to remember a lighter version of this song...and she seem to be too serious...that was not the way I remembered that song..
  4. OMG...I loved this song as a kid...I used to sing it really loud with the radio...hee memories... she is not starting this out good...she seems to get dragged by it...she is pitchy for the first time... Why is she having a hard time with song??? just not good at all. oops randy agreed
  5. I don;t know but I think because of the nasally quality in his voice...it can seem like he is going sharp...but he really did stay mostly in tune. I don't mind these types of arrangements cos the melody was beautiful and he respected that...I too don;t know that song but I want to find a download for it...It would be beutiful to hear a good singer sing that...like Clay.
  6. I agree playbiller... okay Chris R...I just hate the nasally quality of his voice...but he is doing a good job of at least staying on tune. I also think he totally understood the song and did a good job on it...just hate that type of voice but if others like it...then he is staying. That is how to make an old song current...beautiful arrangement. yup...I agree with the judges...shoot Simon was saying what I was typing... Oh its so good that he decided to sing it straight...good thing he listened to Noone...
  7. he said in his blog that they are scheduling it in early summer and is part of the reason why they were having problems with the scheduling.
  8. Hey I think there will be quite a group in dallas...will the ehp be doing the cellcert...I want fun people on the first night.
  9. I think there will be a long wait for a new episode...I really miss it...I wish they would at least show some repeats.
  10. I was just goign to say that was the perfect song choice for her and Randy had to say it... I really enjoyed her performance....the only problem I had was she was losing power at some parts...but I really liked her. I only wish she didn;t more around so much...but I think she should stay one more week with that.
  11. If she posts anything more at CV, I'll bring it over. I assume she'll also post any updates at the OFC. thanks bottlecap...I think this may become one of his most complicated concerts yet...with the orchestra and the fact he may have to leave in the middle of the tour for his UNICEF trip.
  12. EEEEEEEEEE I can't believe I will be in a ticket frenzy too...but I will have to piggyback with Couchie...But I really wonder if it will be tat crazy...it is a big enough venue right???
  13. woohoo for the CA get together... have fun ladies!!!! yup couchie just emailed me...I have to make my decision for CA this week cos we need to get tickets...OMG...so I think I will have to committ. Although the high price of the plane ticket is painful...3 shows in CA and getting to finally meet some of the FCAers specially my parner in FCA Couchie...will definitely make it all worthwhile... Just sad cos I know it won't be possible for all the FCAers to make it...but I hope everyone gets to hook up with some FCAers in their chosen concerts...and we will be able to make that big get together sometime...
  14. That's great playbiller...I know I totally enjoyed our trip down memory lane last year... oops I don;t think we finished it though...I know Couchie and the other commentators finished rewatching and gave their reaction for every episodes. for those who wants to relive the moments... FCA's AI2 revisited
  15. To switch gears a bit... have people made their best of xmas06 tour playlist yet? I see we are only missing ldyjocelyn's recommendation...so here is my gentle nudge in her direction... anyway...I tried to upload on my ipod some of my choices among the rcommendations...and I noticed that the englewood wav files of SLC was not playing on my ipod...did other people have that problem? I guess right now I am wondering if we can get some volunteers who are willing to make mp3 versions of these songs. I guess we will be hosting those audio files on FCAM...which we need to work on soon...sigh Clay is almost a full time job...heh.
  16. found this on CH: Not surprised since he does ahve to remain neutral and better not mention a specific charity at all...just the whole campaign so people can go to the site and donate to the charity that most makes sense to them... SO when are those dates coming out..getting impatient here...hee
  17. djs...aww what a cute story about your grandosn. Hope y'all have a great celebration for him. I remembered he enjoyed watching JNT05 with you. WORD about the drug analogy. As I work on the FCA site...I was reliving the first 3 years of this fandom and what a ride that was. I guess when you have had the high of seeing 640K units sold in the first week it is hard to get excited about 230K. When we've seen him get awards and perform on award shows and sing national anthems for nationwide sporting events...its hard to think he is just watching from the sidelines. BUT that is life...its a wheel or a rollercoaster...sometimes you are up and sometimes you are down. I wouldn't even really call this last year as down. I would say there were a few highs...just not as steep as what we had before. I would like to think that in this relatively down time he is simply gathering momentum and speed for that next climb up. I am sure it is coming but I wonder what form it will take. Will it be another CD of great orginals...will he finally get that hit record we know he has in him? Or will it be in a form of TV show...will he finally get that talk show he is dreaming of? If he ends up simply having a more sedate roller coaster ride with moderate peaks and valleys...I would love that too...as long as the ride continues and I think the only one that could make that stop is Clay himself. Bottle...very good point about the AI mentality. I think the reason for the anxiety that has become the breeding ground for pods is this continuing fear that some fans have that has to be the best of all AI or else Clay might get voted off or that he will simply disappear cos his 15 minutes are up ...ain't happening. Clay has passed the threshold for that. He is a legitimate celebrity and star that will create buzz wherever he goes. His talent is undeniable...the big question mark I think is the kind of music he really wants to produce. But I think the industry recognizes his talent. So who cares if Daughtry is currently the darling of AI...who cares if Blake is making a buzz...it no longer affects Clay unless people believe that his only claim to fame is AI. I also like this: I think this fandom has a lot to get over...and its time to move on to better and more exciting things... Like the concert tour...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and Kevin on Ellen this morning...hopefully he mentions BAF but if its just in passing or very minor mention...its cool...what's important is to keep BAF in the top six to get the 10K matching funds. hey last night I had a slight vertigo reaction...I don't think its anywhere near what Clay had but it was a truly bizarre experience when every movement of my head caused the whole room to spin...so I just went to bed early last night. But I did catch a bit of DWTS and I agree Djs...Laila was good...I also enjoyed Billy Ray cos I don't think he was truly taking this seriously...just having fun.
  18. Oh yay another heroes fan...yup I think this is one of those series that seems more like a long movie than seperate episodes ..the DVD would be great.
  19. I started out with a lot of quotes this morning...then I did a really stupid thing...I was uploading some best of xmas2006 tour on my ipod...then I clicked the wrong thing and I ended up erasing the other 2350 songs in my ipod....so I am spending the rest of this day uploading my ipod once again. anyway...chacha...I see you are getting your site ready for the tour. Couchie and I are getting FCA ready too so that it will be easier to update for each concert. I just can't wait for the rest of the concerts to be announced. Poddies...for those that are still not quite clear about this, I guess my take on it is that it is actually a mindset and not necessarily being against specific individuals or boards. Its true that there are people that have made it their mission to spread this mindset and I guess I would be against those fans...but I know for the most part a lot of people are simply getting influenced by this kind of mentality because it seems so prevalent all over the fandom and causes all kinds of doom and gloom and unpleasantness all around. I guess if a person is willing to try and see beyond the pod...then that person is truly not a poddie. So why bother about it...why do we post about it or waste time thinking about it....because it has affected us. If this mentality was isolated in one board and didn't happen to affect the mood of the fandom...or even affect Clay in anyway...then I say who cares if some fans are living in delusions. BUT ...unfortunately...the few proponents of this idea have a mission to spread the word. They want to recruit people into their way of thinking. They wanted fans to believe them and join their cause of "saving" Clay. It seems as if they feel that if the fans are united in their goal they can somehow force RCA? Clay? into steering CLay's career in the direction they think it should be...I think that some of them feel that the more stories and rumor they spread ...their reality will somehow happen. The result...most boards are dealing with a lot of arguments about this...lots of people have stopped posting altogether...and even the usual enthusiastic support of Clay's project has become anemic because of all the negative attitude towards ATDW. Has it helped Clay in any way??? Not that I can see...Clay will do what is best for him and the fans should;nt try to have a say on that. Personally...I wish we didn't have to waste time on this...because that would mean it no longer matters. Alas...its still alive and thriving...now with rumors of Clay recording and meeting with suits...I'm afraid this fandom will never be satisfied with what Clay has down the line unless it is the rocking cd of originals predicted by the pods. My question is...what will happen when all of this does not happen? What if the concert tour is full of ATDW songs? what if Clay is not recording right now and is just preparing another project?WHAT IF...Clay has no plans to be the rockstart they want him to be...will the poddies be satisfied with being wrong or will they now start to turn on Clay for not being what they want him to be...This is what worries me...this is why the poddies bother me. My dream is...come July, this fandom will simply celebrate whatever Clay has to offer with the concerts...ATDW or rocking new songs...I just hope we all just stop trying to run Clay's career and simply enjoy his talent. Thats what fans are supposed to do after all....
  20. Glad to see you posting. Come on over anytime. Stiff we are not (except perhaps in the drunken sense, in some cases). Our boyfriend does have some stiff parts. OK, I'll shut up now. :medium-smiley-070: Heh you stole Muski's line!!!
