  1. Sooo true...show me a rocking dude that DF has produced???? If they want him to be a rocker...honestly their best bet is with RCA and CLive...cos thats the kind of music he usually pushes people into. I think they went this direction because thats what Clay wants and what fits his voice the best.
  2. Bwah play!!! I love it when newbies bring us the pretties. so what delusions are the poddies trying to propagate now?? or are they all simple rehash of old stories and theories? awww rcknrllmom...what a beautiful montage!!!! love Clay with Children...I think I have a special wish for my little Cait to meet Clay. For the newbies...my youngest daughter is 6 and has Down syndrome...she is the only other Clay fan in my house. Everytime she sees Clay's picture she calls him daddy (don;t worry he's not the only one she calls that, only the ones that remind her of her dad)...her favorite clip is ICHM and she used to make me play the AI5 finale clip over and over. Something funny happened tonight...she does not talk very clearly yet..its hard for me to understand what she says usually it sounds like some exotic foreign language. She usually gets attracted by Clay's picture and she would point and say daddy. Tonight she saw the CH banner and she pointed at it and she started jabbering and pointing and she even went close to the monitor to see it closely...I can only imagine she was wondering what happened to Clay...cos it certainly didn't look like the Clay banners she usually sees...hee
  3. yeah I was just so surprised that the flights were always full. And its a good thing the weather prevented Schmirna from leaving so much earlier...they would've had such an enormous lead. cos the would've been about to finish the race just when people were starting.
  4. Oh gosh...who watch this episode??? how funny is that wheh schmirna didn;t know what they won...hee and super love Danny and Oswald...I wish I didn't see the spoiler. I think it was time for Teri to go home she was totally tired.
  5. What???you got tickets. already or is this in anticiaption...hee wow...are people stretching their dialing fingers now???
  6. The bolded part is my favourite verse.......thanks for sharing! Hey how did I miss this...BWAH...too funny. thanks for bringing the laughs. :F_05BL17blowkiss: :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  7. As I said...I don't think this will get BAF disqualified because it was not Clay that started the six degree badge itself so this is not a celebrity badge. So mentioning that BAF was started by Clay is not an issue as far as I understand.. I think she sent the press release because there are 6 more days for people to donate. I suspect all the other people with badges will be more aggressive in their attempt to get into the top 6. BAF is currently in number 2 but as Aron said in an email it is not sure that that will be the case by the end of this week. I guess the fear is the momentum of this badge will go down as the momentum of other badges goes up and BAf may not end up in top 6. Also...I think at this point we got to number 2 because of the fan donations...but that is probably getting saturated since people can only donate once. So it is important to start soliciting donation from outside the fandom to augment what the fans can give. I really don't know this person...but to me the recipient is the BAF and its a chance for them to get extra 10K above what the fans give. so whatever helps to keep in the top 6 is great IMO.
  8. Clayzorback, I think this press release was sent by the person that set up the badge in the first place. So I guess the badges are set up by individuals...and they choose a charity to sponsor. I think the badge becomes a celebrity badge if a celebrity starts it. But the BAF didn't start this badge they are just the recepient of the money so this is not considered a celebrity badge. From what I have read this was sent with the approval of TBAF and was partly written by Aron. So the fact that this person started the badge in the first place and she was the one that has been pushing this...then it makes sense for her to do the press release.
  9. Welcome lovesclayoice...I have avoided the OFC from the beginning since I didn't want my BP to constantly rise. I think I only have a handful of posts there so I am not that familiar with y'all. But from jmh's post I think y'all will fit very well in FCA... thanks for joining and I hope you join us on main soon.
  10. well it will be up to the six degrees group to determine if BAF qualifies...I'm sure they know that Clay is involved. so what would make a charity a celebrity charity and why was BAf not considered that? Not too clear on that. I also heard that this went through BAF and was approved and even partially written by Aron...so I would hope that they knew what they were doing. I am also a purist on fans writing press release to help Clay's career...whatever their qualification may be...But I think the caseis different when it comes to BAF. We have to face it...a lot of non profit organizations are under staffed and do not have the funds to hire professionals so at times they would need to rely on volunteer services. I suppose this is what happened here and since this was released through BAF with aron's approval then I personally don't ahve a problem with it. When it comes to the wordings and composition of the press release...I will defer to the better writers here...so cannot comment on that.
  11. Exactly...is it because other fan groups might get the credit? I have seen worse fan made press releases that made me cringe and that I frankly thought was embarrassing...I don't remember those getting picked apart. I remember everyone just tried to be supportive or just didn't say anything about it. I just think when some fans jump up to tear down the positive efforts of others...they are just being counter productive. At this point...the press release is out...to publicly diss it may make some people less likely to support BAF... I personally don't have a problem with it and hope that it helps BAF gain more donations so it could stay at the top 6....that is whats important right now not more nitpicking.
  12. Oh this is great...wonderful way of reminding us of this journey...and I noticed you spent a lot of time with the orange shirt...Love that look!!! Thanks so much for sharing
  13. The Aiken Fog...hee I was goign to say that I wasn;t afflicted by this particular phenomena...then I remembered that thanks to clack I have seen Toronto concert so many times after that night so I don;t know if my memory is due to that. But I do remember when he passed right in front of me...close enough to grab when he was on his way to talk to Jaymes...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...I remember thinking he was so gorgeous...his skin so wonderful and his eyes incredible...and I also remember thinking...Don't grab him...don;t grab him...HEEEE. I really find it funny when fans post on message boards declaring what they don't want Clay to sing. My usual reaction is...SO WHAT??? It does not matter because the only one Clay should listen to is his own muse. I also keep seeing people post that they don;t want him to sing oldies music...but he has been singing oldies music since the time we saw him on AI. He was singing covers on every concert. So while I don't think Clay is going to go totally the Michael Buble route...oldies songs will always be a part of his repertoire...
  14. Thanks for those You Tube videos... I actually enjoyed the temptations the best and hope Clay sings it that way. the orah clip...I was most impressed with Carrie...she has a beautiful tone and very hearfelt interpretation...Josh Groabn was a snooze. I really don't like the way he sings...just too much vibrato. Micheal Buble was the motst loung act like and I love Tony Bennett Love the tone of Harry Connick but I don;t think Clay cna pull off that kind of Jazz arrangement. Stevie was great of course...but again, nit the version I envision for Clay. and EWWWWW on Justin I think this will be a big challenge for Clay just because it is so well known and has been covered millions of times.
  15. I am so glad we allow images on this board...I know its hard at work...but man the pretties are just too yummy not to be shared... thanks for all the visuals... oh I want to see that AI rewind episode...I saw Kelly;s performance on you tube and it was fantastic...I want to see how the others did. IMO...the reason why these "old songs" get covered again and again...is because its jsut beautiful music...period. did anybody sing moonriver...hee..or is that not old enough?
  16. WOW jmh...i feel like I have to take a moment there after that description!!!
  17. I guess the eHP will have to find me ... because I don't know where they are! But it sounds like they must be really something, because you're the second person to mention them to me today. eHP representatives on this board are KAndre, Scarlett, Merrieee, there are other members and honorary members. oh they are the evil Houston Posse...hee but they are fun. I suppose one of them will post soon enough. other FCAers going to houston are ldyjocelyn, Muski, Claygasm, Play, Djs and Heidiho...these are the active and semiactive posters...I'm sure there are other lurkers going too. here is the texas2fer planning thread... and a sample of the crazy fun antics of the eHP when they are on the road on a concert tour... Kandre's Long Island recap
  18. Oh let me tell you my experience listening to the cellcert of the first JBT...the motown section I pretty much knew when Clay was singing and when it was the girls and when Jacob sang grapevine I knew it was him...then "I'll be there" started and I was floored...WHO WAS THAT??? I thought ...was that Clay? cos it sounds like him but just so much more intense and really soulful...EEEEEEEEEEEE I remember I kept asking who was that and getting frustrated cos I can only hear and not see. I saw JBT in Toronto and its the only time I saw Clay live...and yes he was that goood....even more so. You will have such a great time this summer in your first concerts...you really should hook up with the eHP and the other FCAers going ...cos nothing like sharing the concerts with other fangirly fans who just wants to enjoy Clay and not judge him...
  19. DOn;t worry keepingfaith...we are pretty used to smutt...with the smutt queen muski on board...hee. hey have a great time all you FCAers meeting each other...I wonder what you will be talking about...could it be one gorgeous redhead with a great voice...hee
  20. Well Keepingfaith..I don;t know if you have the clack of Clay singing a snip of moon river. He sang it to Diane Sawyer during his first primetime interview...since then that is one of those clacks that people always saye they would like to see...the complete version of Moonriver...I know I am very excited for it. But now some of the same people hate the idea that he is singing it...just because it does not fit what they think he should sing. When I read the reactions of people to the 5 possible songs in the set list I keep wondering don't they know Clay by now? These songs are just in line with the songs he has always sang. I think people are really looking for a different Clay than the one we already know. They want him to sound just like every other artist on the radio today...but one of the things I always loved about Clay is that he is a different type of pop star...why do they want to make him ordinary...and fit the formula on radio? Yeah that would probably make him more popular...but to what cost? his artistic soul? He already stood up to Clive in the past and now he is being given free reign to find his artistic direction. I just want to see what he wants to do...cos I don't need him to sound like all the other artist I have in my ipod. Everyone of them are unique...and thats why Clay can stand proud among them...he retains his own distinctive sound...and that is how it should be.
  21. oh definitely maybe we should schedule some new listening party...I love talking abut Clay's instrument.
  22. WOW keepingfaith...that is some pretty pretty screencap... you sure will be popular with those kinds of visuals...hee I think my cousins are very much like you. They loved Clay on AI and bought his CD but never knew about the concerts...oh yeah one of them went to San Jose IT...but was disappointed cos it didn;t ahve BOTW. I'm sure that there are so much Clay fans out there that have lost touch with him...I'm sure they will be pleasantly shocked by the guy right now...he certainly looks different from the spiky haired guy on AI...
  23. YAY...welcome!!!! yup the instrument is something else...I really love listening to CLay among my other music on ipod shuffle because I always get this rush when I hear his voice...it certainly is extraordinary... sorry about the delay in your validation...that is just some problem with the emails...but usually there is no problem in registering in this forum... hope you join us in main and other threads in the board...love to get to know newbies..
  24. WELCOME keepingfaith!!!! I am so glad to meet someone who is relatively new to the internet fandom... so sorry about your experience with the OFC. This is my take on that board...The problem is the OFC was created rather late in Clay's career after the Clay internet communites have been firmly established. The different boards have all developed their particular flavor and mentality and at times these boards can be completely different in their characters. There are also a lot of history between the boards cos a lot of the smaller boards are off shoots of the bigger boards and were formed because they were no longer welcome in their old boards or they no longer agree with the policies. So there are a lot of animosity between some of the groups. When the OFC started fans from all over came together on the message boards but instead of trying to coexist a lot of the posters tried to control the spirit of the OFC and make it more like their community. So soon you have different factions posting with all kinds of agenda to attract Clay;s attention or to even influence Clay and TC and the clay fans in general. It soon became a battleground that was very unpleasant. I do believe we created the FCA forum to counter that. We wanted a place where members from all different boards can congregate and simply celebrate Clay...you cannot be too positive here. We don't usually like to criticize other fans because we are not the fan police...but as the pod mentality spread and became this cancer growing in the fandom we cannot help but make our opinions known. BUT our main goals is really to celebrate Clay and to have fun. I am really glad that some OFC members have found their way to our boards...hope you post in the other threads and in main soon and often. we love to hear new perspectives or just get to know new members.
