  1. I'm a ho for Gregory Peck...I actually did a telehone interview with him in 1978! His voice...GAH! And yes, Jimmy Stewart... I could watch Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor dance all night. I love all the old MGM musicals. Anybody ever see a movie called "I Want To Live!" with Susan Hayward? OMG...what a tear jerker!
  2. Maybe May or June Our heartbeats measure the days 'Til the VOX fills us
  3. oh.my.god. Ansamcw Thanks for pointing out that Broads skit...that is hilarious! Couchie! Finally downloaded the Mac Ken Jenkins video! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! So when do we have that beer (or two)? You know, that cooler still has the leftover beers from the Clay night at Casa Muski...
  4. Okay....this is just plain, flat-out, pants-peeing FUNNY! :em0100: Hee! Working late at the office, so thought I'd read the spoilers...I really didn't expect it to be Melissa...I would've been happier with either of the other in the bottom three being shown the door. Of course, it's Kevin that's GOT.TAH.GO. He gives me the creeps---the way he looks, talks, acts and sings.....My daughter seems fixated on his nostrils...says he could drown in a rainstorm with those things. I told her that's not nice to talk about someone like that. We looked at each other while I tried not to burst out in a big guffaw....she has these huge pale blue eyes and had this 'WHUT?!?!?!?' expression in them.... I'm a bad person. A horrible role model. That guffaw escaped anyway. Then we were in tears after a while cuz we couldn't stop laughing. I'm going to hell for that, no doubt.
  5. Thanks, buddy, but don't rush. Now I'm at work and have no internet access for my iBook! We have PCs here...I'll just wait til tonight to download it when you get a link going... Maybe I'll try to sneek a peak on my work computer---It's a PC.....
  6. :o The clip won't play on my Mac! Where the HELL is that crying emoticon?!?!?!??!
  7. Oh, God! I hope so. Ace---purdy to look at, I prefer him with my ears closed, though. Kellie---she's just a kid and she's out of her element. Get her back home. Elliot---boring, no "IT" factor, didn't appeal to me at all. Melissa--I can't get past how she makes me think of Julia DeMato; seems almost as tentative, too. Bucky---He seems like such a nice guy, fun and all---that song has what? maybe 4 different notes? Meh. Mandisa--Much better clothing choice, although I agree that some sleeves would've been nice. Voice still good, but not up to her best. Lisa---she seemed very amateurish to me tonight; maybe because Stevie's such a master. Taylor---He was surprisingly restrained, I thought--at least compared to his last seizure; voice was decent. Katherine---I agree that this seemed to be her best. She does have a good voice. But does anybody else get an 'airhead' vibe from her? Or is that her 'thing'? Chris--great. just great. Yeah, he doesn't need to do that mic thing...his good enough without it. Bo needed it. Kevin--Oh dear god, make it stop. Paris--I can't make up my mind about this one. She obviously has talent. I can't see myself wanting to listen to her after this show's season is over, though. (I'm not a Fantasia fan...so....) Oh...I WISH Clay and Stevie WOnder could meet each other. Can you imagine how Stevie would feel if CLAY had been standing there next to him and the piano rehearsing ANY of the songs? ANY?
  8. I'm dying here! I can't get that Ken Jenkins video to play...I get a message saying it's a MIME application and I don't have a plug in (shutup) and I want to SEEEEEEEEE it! Chris rocked the house tonight on AI....Mandisa sounded good, but not great. Katherine sounded very good. Paris sorta grew on me... But GOD...I kept biting my lip to stop myself from saying over and over and over...how Clay would KILL on that song...and that song...and... You get my drift...
  9. I have nothing of merit to say...but I couldn't stand that there were no posts since Strummer's yesterday afternoon! So since I'm not in the writing mood (as in writing my story chapters) and I've had a glass...make that a cup---a mug, actually..a "THUD!" mug... :00000441: of cabernet... I thought I'd just mosey on in and drop an important truth into your...uh...laps. NOT.A.FOLD. That is all. Good night. :704: Heck, even his long tie couldn't hide that thing. :kra: Especially when it took on a life of its own and started covering some real estate. I love CLay. He's so..... good to us. Hey, Couchie! We gotta start planning that CD release party! :00000441: and make sure we get primo seats for the West Coast Clay Invasion! Okay...I'll leave you all alone now. I can take a hint. (However, it does occur to me that it's somewhat 'Sybil' of you guys to have so many emoticons of angels and drinkers---) what does that MEAN? And what does it say behind these balloons? Is there NO one to answer my plea? Anybody? Bueller?
  10. playbiller, I'd play, but my picks are exactly the same as yours! And Ansa, I agree with you about what AI wants this year---we need a HOT WHITE MALE out there on the music scene, don't we? Huh? Who? Clay Aiken? BWAHAAAHAHA! You kiddin' me? That elfish, androgynous, Barry Manilow-wannabe? That reality goodie goodie who's squeezing out his 15 mins of fame? That nerdy, geeky-looking sexually ambiguous country boy who doesn't play the game right, but has titanium lungs as well as balls? Him? PUH LEEZE. Pass the cabernet, please...
  11. From one newbie to another... Welcome, netzangel! :00000442:
  12. Got an unexpected opportunity to have the living room tv all to myself tonight so I watched AI2's final 12 and the results show...I'd forgotten that Clay got the first standing 'O' (God knows I've lost count of the 'O's' he's caused by now... )...for his "I Can't Help Myself" (God knows I've lost count of the times he's made me say that by now.. )...and of course, I had to watch for those magic fingers during the "Girl, you call my name..." (God knows I've lost count of the ways I've imagined him using those magic fingers by now. )... And I also noticed how he stifled himself from saying something to Slimon when the loser Brit told him it sounded like "Motown the Musical" ====which, of course, turned out to be Simon's first taste of crow...even though at the time he didn't know it. heh. I also noticed how effusive his reactions were to all the "You're safe!" announcements for most of the contestants...his applause was more...er...reserved?...for Corey and Trenyce... wonder why? and playbiller So which show do you think will be the one to have Ace wearing a shirt that shows some chest hair? You know it's coming....
  13. skatejoy Well, I just spent a wonderful 30 minutes floating through your photo albums...GAH and sigh and slurp and holy crap. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Thank you.
  14. I hope it's okay that I'm doing this, but when I read the last few posts, I realized just how we Clay fans seem to GET IT...when we talk about the quality, the magic of Clay's voice. And then it got me to thinking about something I had a character say to Clay in a story I'm writing. They'd been together for a few months as a couple, but she hadn't been a fan of him as a celebrity before meeting him in 'real life'. She attended a benefit with him and heard and saw him perform for the first time. This was what she said... I really do think he has that effect on many people.
  15. So bottlecap I'm with you on the pictures...you're probably right...he's marching to the beat of his own drummer with those size 13 puppies...fo sho'! And when I saw that emoticon, I thought the guy was juggling...????? I already miss the travelin' journal of the Clay man....think we could persuade him to write a daily journal of his CD recording process?
  16. Ok...this is just funny. I noticed that for my profile info that appears on the side here, I'd mistyped my name...I'd put 'muskifIest'...(ironic, huh, since I gave two of you such a hard time for misspelling it...heh) ANyway, while on the profile update page I decided to put my location in and my birthday... But you guys are slick. I got an error page...Why? Because I'd only put the month and day in....no year.... and evidently I can't do that....Well alrighty, then. You can just try to GUESS when my birthday is---never MIND the year.... The DAY, however...now that's a celebration day, to be sure! My momma called me her firecracker baby and many people who know me seem to agree with her... :25:
  17. Oh, no...don't feel bad, bottlecap...I'm soooooo sure Clay wanted us to smut over these obvious smuts from him.... It's his brain that is the sexiest thing about him to me... (what?)...When I read these little ditties he inserted (ahem)....I had to go back and reread. He must have been cracking himself up while he typed that.... DAYUM, I love that man. And FearofH2O, no you're not the only one: I just commented on EAYOR that even though I know there's a 99%chance that he never sees my posts on his blog, I just HAVE to say something...I so want to sit down with that little sh*t and exchange snarks and laugh and... stuff.
  18. I'll be danged! You're right...it's lydjocelyn not idyjocelyn...got it.. I post my stories on EAYOR and Claversity...If you read on CV, you could say hi! and whatnot. :00000442:
  19. Thanks for the welcome, Ansamcw and idyjocelyn You guys spelled my board name wrong, which should give you an idea why it's my board name! it's muskisfest (like 'musk' i fest), not musikfest---like the name of the concert. See, that first concert there, for some reason, everytime I tried to pronounce the name or even when I heard the sound in my head when I read the word "Musikfest", I always said MUSKIFEST...have no idea why. But it got to be a joke among all my friends...they loved making fun of my slips... So when I joined EAYOR, and sorta changed home boards, I wanted a new name (I had been 'outthere' at the previous board)...and that quote of Clay's during an interview ("It must be my musk..."), along with the whole mispronunciation thing... and there ya go... Fascinating, huh? Oh, and idyjocelyn If you're reading my stories on another board, thank you! And...why don't you say 'hi' sometimes on the story thread?
  20. Crap! Was I supposed to 'catch up' before commenting on this episode? Heck, I'd never make it! Or if I did, I'd have to put my story writing on hold...and other little details, like my family. Not that I don't WANT to, you understand... Or that I won't... because prolly I will... cause doing that sounds like more fun than a lot of the things I really SHOULD do... heh.
  21. Ok..just watched the episode. I'll need to go backwards when I can to catch up...it's interesting to see and hear the JUDGES' comments. They were much more...CANDID, it seems. This season, especially, they seem washed out---they're never exactly MEAN and in some surprising cases, Simon is downright gentle! But not in this episode of Season 2, however. Lord. CLAY: I know a lot of people don't like this performance of his; I always have. When Pauler sid he didn't sing it with enough heartbreak, I thought I would scream. He tugged at me with his voice in this song. The catches in his throat at the ends of notes (gah), the dynamics of power and then head voice and then sliding so effortlessly between...of course, the eyelashes and eyes (gah again)..When I listen to this on my AI CD in the car, I always repeat it because the vocals are incredible...Can you tell I liked this one? Criticism? Uh...Clay, just tell Mezghan to lay off the lip gloss. If you need those puppies moistened, call me. Kim Locke My daughter was watching this with me and when it was over, she made a snoring sound like she was bored. (She did the same after Clay's song too, but that's neither here nor there.)..Seemed like the judges liked it; I like her voice most of the time...and the thing I agreed with the judges on here was her decision NOT to belt it the whole way. Definitely enough to keep her out of trouble this week. Ricky I could never stand listening to Ricky for a whole song. To me, his type of voice is best suited as a harmony voice or a backup vocalist. There were parts of this song that I enjoyed, but for the most part...not so good. However, I wouldn't vote him off this week. Kimberly Caldwell Well, the judges might not have liked this, but I did. I liked that she gave a different, softer song a go...and her vibrato didn't bug me like it often does on other songs. She looked great---only about 10 pounds of eyemakeup on instead of 20. Josh The beginning and ending of this song was strong for him. In the beginning he had just the right country 'twang' and in the end he was on pitch and sounded confident. Like Randy said, he definitely had pitch problems in the middle, though. This was after the "Celebration" debacle, right? Good save, Josh. Carmen Oh dear God. I always gritted my teeth whenever she got on stage. And I thought it was a cruel joke that Simon selected her for his wild card. The girl THEN at least could NOT sing; I actually thought she handled all the comments (that were NOT gently given) incredibly well for such a young one. But...please...just make it stop. Trenyce This woman is a real odd duck IMO. She definitely can sing. She delivers most of the time. I never LIKED her, though, and this was before there were any rumors that she was difficult or a diva or beyotch or whatever. And that impression of her interferes with my...acceptance...of her talent. Unfair or not, there it is. Ruben Well. The judges' noses were bleeding brown after the big man sang tonight, huh? They'd have to brush and floss quite well to lose all signs of kissing his butt so much with their 'criticism'. Sorry, I heard lack of breath support and scratchiness in tone here and there (which I usually did with Ruben). I actually like the kind of voice he has AND he's a good guy, I think. I just never got all worshipful over his voice OR his performances like the judges did. He sounded good, though. Haven't watched the results part of the show yet. Of course, we know who went. But If I didn't know...just from this series of performances, I'd boot off Carmen and Ricky. ETA: Just watched the results show. I'd forgotten that only one went home! The wrong one, of course---Carmen. But RIcky went...and it seemed that many of the others hated that. Clay put his face in his hands when it was announced. I wonder if he thought it would be Carmen, too. And it's true...there wasn't a clip of Clay's song at the beginning of the results show---just not there. AND it was fun watching "All Night Long" and Clay and Carmen's little pretend flirting and kissy kissy at the end! Ha! AND...gee...eight people still on the show, but Ruben and a chick got a Ford commercial JUST FOR HIM?!?!?! And oh, Lord, again! I'd also forgotten how lip glossy and 'sweet little looks' and 'thank you-y' he was at the camera as he sat there on the steps. This would be one of those times that supposedly the judges were making fun of his mannerisms, wouldn't it?
  22. Oh, yeay! Ok...gonna go watch my season 2 Billboard Night show...then will be back to contribute my sterling commentary, which will make you all wonder, of course, how you guys ever got along without it before now.... And what's this about emoticons? You mean couchie isn't fond of emoticons? You mean emoticons like these? :00000430: :04: :21: :all_coholic: (This last little guy looking suspiciously like couchie herslef last night...) Wow...there sure are a lot of drinking emoticons on this board... :00000462:
  23. So may I play, too? I wanna play! :00000441:
