  1. Claygasm, nice posts!! I'm going to check out those other versions tomorrow. :Tour3: :TourExcite: Whatever Clay wants to sing, I want to hear it. :Tour3:
  2. {{{Couchie}}} TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER TEXAS DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Bout time for the re-release of ATDW with extras, and the second wave of album promotion, eh?
  4. I saw that--it's a letter to the editor for Pete's sake--it's obvious it was written by a fan. Idiots!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for the skating show. Every time I see one of those shows I wish Clay were involved in one. I was at the RBC for Skating! Clay! and was stunned. He was quite confident on skates. Play, is this one on youtube?
  5. I've read some very reasonable positive interpretations of the sign on AI tonight (basically, whatshisname was booted off before the commercial, is still sad, and somehow blames Clay). While I'm seeing some angsting, I'm hearing a lot more people saying, "No big deal," just snark, great to have his name out there, whatever. Some notorious pod pot-stirrers are being ignored or contradicted. YAY! I keep hearing this little ditty in my head: "I can see clearly now, the pod has lifted."
  6. I thought Sanjaya was really entertaining tonight. I haven't seen many shows but I've read this thread and the CH thread, and I know he's supposed to be horrible, but I enjoyed that. I'm watching cause it's British Invasion night and I love these songs, and Peter Noone and Lulu. Besides Sanjaya, I thought Jordin was fantastic. (I caught her number last week too--she's really good.) That's about it. I mean, there were others that were good, but no one is blowing me away. Melinda hasn't sung yet though.
  7. I think luckiest1 already made the mp3's and uploaded them to her folder, but I was supposed to clip them. Eeep! Me too!
  8. Word to your whole post, especially this part. This is the one great advantage of the Pod theories--it has kept the heat off Clay. When did the rumor go from a clean-shaven Clay was seen leaving a recording studio to Clay was seen with "suits" from another label? Did anyone follow that one? And where will it go next? BWAH!!!
  9. Omigosh, I might actually have a half an inch or so on you. Wow. I'm not sure how tall I am, depends on the measurer these days, but at least 4' 9 1/2'. Hee! Glad you're back and posting when you can. :F_05BL17blowkiss: and Hiya, cha cha trusty!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  10. Glad to see you posting. Come on over anytime. Stiff we are not (except perhaps in the drunken sense, in some cases). Our boyfriend does have some stiff parts. OK, I'll shut up now. :medium-smiley-070:
  11. Couchie's explanation makes the most sense, but I usually jump in at this point and add my 2 cents anyway, since I kind of started this mess. I was off the boards for awhile due to moving, and when I came back, a lot of people seemed to have changed personalities overnight. When I left, they were acting normally, but when I came back they were acting like Couchie described. It was like the movie, the Invasion of the Body Snatchers, where people looked the same as ever but had been taken over by the Pod People. I was afraid they would get me too, so I came over here to hide from them cause this place was obviously safe. So FCA is a safe place for people who are sick of conspiracy theories and people casting blame far and wide, sick of mad jealousy of all other musical artists--especially other AI contestants, who are all supposedly taking away attention from Clay. It's a safe place for people who don't buy delusional notions like the idea that Clay will not play any songs from ATDW on tour this summer because he hates the album, and so on. I know we say :pod: but honestly, anyone is welcome as long as they aren't spewing a bunch of nonsense, or, if they are, they are willing to be told that they are spewing a bunch of nonsense. djs, you rock!!! I wanna play!!! playbiller, looks like you have some for the contest already. I'm impressed.
  12. I'm in for Raleigh and Asheville for sure, and waiting to see the rest of the venues before I decide whether to travel far afield.
  13. My avatar celebrates my so-called status*--cause you know if you don't hate ATDW, you work for You Know Who--but Clayzor, since I kind of started it I'll be the one to say oops--maybe it isn't best to name a lot of names. I don't think we're here to single out individual poddies, and besides, it'll make them feel too important. *ETA: Although please note that the RCA logo has been replaced by Clay's thing-in-the-thing logo. It's my old WMS "Her Master's Voice" siggie from long ago, with the logo changed to make it clear who my master is.
  14. I went and checked it out. How cool!! I hope some of y'all will post in this thread too. Come dance with us! :dan1: Sounds like everyone here is either very tall or very short. Our "class photo" would be very weird looking. I'm shorter than anyone who has posted how short they are. I don't think there's any way that every single person will be able to make it to the FCA get-together. Those who are planning for CA shouldn't feel bad--it really seems to have just turned out that way, and as ansa said, nothing is final yet. Some of us will see each other at the gala in Raleigh very shortly - eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I have to laugh at myself--after reading pkmiller's response, I finally realized that I'm not from the northeast. HAHA. Force of habit. Man, it was grand being right in the middle of a gazillion concerts to choose from. This tour, not so much--yet. I hope he spreads it around with the rest of the concert dates, I really do. And pkmiller, you have my permission to kick any fat ass that gets in your way. :medium-smiley-070: I have enough FF miles, play, but CA is a beeeeeg state. Those venues are not all that close together, and I think you are right that it will cost some bucks to do that 3fer. Still it's tempting. I dunno. Still waiting for the rest of the venues to be announced.
  16. Not so weird--you're just not thinking "right". It's not about seeing the show, it's about Clay seeing you--getting Clay's attention. They're disgruntled if he didn't acknowledge them, and ecstatic if there was an interaction with him of some kind. Clayzorback, you'll probably be able to get cheaper, better seats later. When there's a frenzy like this, it always results in more seats available later. Depends on how many tickets sell altogether, but some of these folks who are covering their bases are going to get a better seat, and sell theirs--including moves from 3rd row to first, 1st row side to center, and the like. If you just have to be in the first 5 rows, center, that will probably cost $250, $300, $400 ($500 for front row center) or more apiece just because there's always a great market for those seats. But I think the rates you saw are high for rows 11/12. The people I've known who buy those seats often buy them the week before the concert--and there are often seats like that released by the venue at the last minute.
  17. BWAH HA HA! Another east coaster here, but not headed for Texas. I do wish those beyotches would stay out of your front row seats, but it's a big arena, so I don't think in pure attendance figures alone there's any harm done if the entire Clay Nation shows up. Where I'm gonna get pissy is if the folks with the front row seats from wherever they come from get all huffy and mean because Clay has the nerve to sing songs from his current album instead of the phone book - LOL. Welcome pkmiller. Generally speaking we like to be happy and silly, and leave the mean to other folks. Now weird is another matter. We do good weird here. Or at least I do. Even when I didn't intend to.
  18. Oh, I booked a room for Asheville about 3.5 seconds after the concert was announced. And hey, I'm definitely not looking to put anyone down here, although I do think the haste to organize huge group sales (50, 60 people) is a little strange, since I know some of those people will still be going for the best ticket they can get any way they can get it. But if you can afford mutiple tickets, why not? I've certainly had my share. And I'm counting on those folks to sell me my tickets - LOL. I'm just saying that for me, just between me and me and my relationship with myself, I like me better not buying multiple tickets this time, and trusting that I'll get an OK ticket somewhere, somehow. I'm not going to decide which concerts to go to by plane until the complete list is out.
  19. I'm being chill so far with the tickets--I've impressed myself. I figure there will be plenty of extras around, and since I'm not all that picky, I should be fine. Of course I'll do Ticket Bastard Tango and the OFC presales, and see what shakes out, but this rush to buy group tickets kind of weirds me out. Course I don't have a lot of extra money to fritter away anymore, so that helps me be reasonable, but I used to get really annoyed with myself for having extra tickets I couldn't sell. Why throw away money like that? So I'm content to let the group sale madness pass me by. But divayenta, ain't no way anyone has the right to "forget" to include you on any group sale list you ask to be on. I'd make a stink on your behalf if I knew where to make it. GRRRRR. Anyways, :F_05BL17blowkiss: you are the best person evah, and anyone who doesn't see that can kiss my behind! Pffftttt!!
  20. Yeah, I was hanging out with my friend all day and the bolded part would definitely describe him as well. But then I dress like my stuff came from goodwill and sometimes it did, so I can't say much, nor do I want to. So maybe it isn't surprising that I find this particular version of Clay hawt as all get-out. Not as hawt as "in performance mode" Clay, cause that Clay is HAWT, but as a regular guy, today's paparazzi Clay is a guy I'd give a second look to. Rochester is Canandaigua in disguise, for purposes of concert location anyway. That is, no one who lived up there would describe a concert in that venue as a concert in Rochester. Just like the Cary concert is in Cary, not Raleigh. All of a sudden it sounds like a bunch of y'all are going to Philly to me. I just haven't decided what to do--other than Raleigh and Asheville. I'd like to know what the other venues will be.
  21. ERP!! It was there, it really was. Who stole TOUCH?? Must've been the Pod People. :pod:
  22. OK, here's my version. All About Love Short Banter (hello FCA) Here You Come Again Because You Loved Me If You Don't Know Me by Now Banter Right Here Waiting I Will Carry You (the Oprah arrangement, with added strings) Run to Me Everytime You Go Away (audience participation) Everything I Do (I Do It For You) A Thousand Days Banter To Love Somebody When A Man Loves A Woman Ya Gotta Have Faith Intermission These Open Arms I Want to Know What Love Is Everything I Have Banter - here come the sad songs: Alone Broken Wings Without You Sorry Lonely No More Banter When I See You Smile I Know How the River Feels Measure of a Man (a la Capitol Fourth) Bridge Over Troubled Water Plus a few new songs as encores Sorry, I didn't take the time to add rationale to the changes. I'm not entirely happy with it, just some ideas. Change away!!!!
  23. Ooooooh couchie, my favorite game. Hope I'll get in a response before my friend arrives. At first perusal, I love what you've done with it. OT. I have a friend coming to visit from NY (actually drove over from Wisconsin where he was attending a funeral. My friend likes to drive--can you tell?). So he wasn't sure he was coming. Has two weeks off and a funeral in Wisconsin that he wants to go to (last of the elders). So Sunday night he calls me from a wake and says he's leaving Monday night for NC and he'll call again first. Tuesday at noon (that's today, right?) he calls and says he's leaving now. Which is great because the alternative could have been that he called to tell me he's here already and forgot to call before he left. Monday was mom day and she flat wore my ass out, and I came home and vegged and went to bed, and didn't get ** done here. So I spent the day today clearing a space on the floor in the second bedroom for my air bed, which meant unpacking 12!!! boxes (and moving others)--all papers of various sorts relating to my job for the last 20 years or so. I've been dreading it forever, but it only took a few hours. Of course there's a lot of sorting and winnowing yet to do. I've got another friend coming for the gala and that will further motivate me. I'm trying to advance from "5 months and I'm not unpacked yet!" to "Boy this place is cluttered; I need to spring clean!" I moved from a huge 3 bdr. apt. plus all the stuff from my office to a 2 bdr. apt. no office. It's taking me awhile to get it together. But today I did a lot! Whew. An hour or so ago he called to say he's in Hickory (also called from Asheville, still unsure whether to stop or keep going) and is stopping, so I have a few hours in the morning for more house cleaning. I won't be on the boards much til Richard leaves. Whenever that will be. The weekend, I'm guessing. Or early next week. I'll sneak on when he goes to bed. I'm excited--he's my BFF, but we hardly ever get to see each other as we've never lived in the same place since he lived here for a year in the early 80's. That's when we met. Not a romance, just FYI, he's a great good friend of mine. (Isn't into Clay but finds the phenomenon of the fandom/boards/etc fascinating. Likes Clay OK--thinks he is geeky and weird in a good way. Has rarely listened to him sing.) So later tonight or in the morning, I hope, the set list. I'll bet you anything he's going to sing Everything I Have, since it was on Days and it's one of the originals. Maybe after LNM?? Medleys is the word. Did I spell that right? Oh, did y'all know everyone in the known universe is apparently a member of this board? Hee. I looked at the member's list a couple of days ago and was amazed. Lots have posted at one time or another too.
