Clayzy, there's been all kinds of clack from the GFI and the Gala (both Project stuff from October and the other gala this past Feb.) posted. You can find it in the normal spots. Haven't seen this posted yet. From Shamrock at the CH, in regards to Clay's jaw: Too bad...he went through all that pain, probably for nothing. Poor baby! -

Something I just thought of this morning, that kind of makes me chuckle... After reading the reports, it sounds like the song I personally am most looking forward to seeing is Mack the Knife. Clay blew me away when he did that song on AI, and it sounds like he's really made it his own now, even more so. Therefore... I've gotta thank Paula Abdul for suggesting the song in the first place on AI. Now, Clay may have been wanting to sing the song before that point, but at the time, good old Pauler was derided on the boards for picking such a "cheesy song" for Clay as Judge's Choice. Well, maybe not so "cheesy" now. Heh. Just some ramblings on a slow day. It's spring break at my college, so it's VERY quiet. Thankfully. -
couchie, I registered with my own user name and password, but then I get the "this bracket is private." So what am I doing wrong?

Sorry to hear about your flight delays. I'm reading right now about lots of fans waiting at RDU for their flights out of town. Thunderstorms? THAT'S the one I want! And I'm disappointed that I got up this morning thinking that the pictures would be posted without watermarks, to find...nothing. This fandom is falling down on the job! Hee. Fear, I have to tease you about your typo! I was like "what is she doing downloading American Idol episodes, and what does that have to do with posting on FCA?" Looking forward to reading it! And I'm glad you were able to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience! Does it feel really weird to anyone else that, while I'm enjoying immensely the recaps, there's no clack to download? I TOTALLY understand why, and full well expect to not find any. That's not my point. My point is that usually we have experiences like this, and within a few hours, the first few pieces of clack appear. Knowing that it's not going to happen for a while now...well, it just FEELS weird. The downloading of clack after a show is usually part of the experience! -

jmh, bottlecap, thanks for your recaps. jmh, I love that you had a totally different perspective on the whole show, and that's fascinating to me. This is going to be grand, ya'll. -

Again, off the phone with bottlecap. I think she's still in awe of the entire evening. She says he started the show with Mack the Knife -- curtain comes up, but Clay has back to the audience at first. Sounds so very cool. Some staging notes --- during It's Impossible, several chandeliers came down, made it look really nice. Also, a horn solo during that song, and Clay acknowledged the the player. He had some schtick about Neil Sedaka -- how he had sang Solitaire on AI that week, but the song he wanted to do, Ruben chose first. So, Clay was going to sing it tonight -- sang one line, and then Ruben came out to finish Breaking Up is Hard To Do. The Big Band Medley -- Baby Got Back sung by ClayPoker Face (Lady Gaga) sung by RubenCrazy In Love (Beyonce) by QuianaManeater (Hall and Oates) -- ClayTik Tok (Kei$ha) -- RubenStraight Up -- Quiana (with Clay and Ruben doing the "oh oh oh's"She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy -- Clay (totally done in the crooner fashion)Play That Funky Music -- RubenCan't Touch This -- all three All done in Big Band, slowed down. This sounds fantastic! He rocked Suspicious Minds and BMUB! EEEEEEEEEEEE! Talked about his schooling in Raleigh, how his 6th grade teacher helped him, and then dedicated "In My Life" to all his teachers in the audience. How sweet. UM was a totally different arrangement, and he got a huge standing ovation for that. More later, I'll let bc tell it when she gets back by Sunday. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! -

Just got off the phone with bottlecap! She's going to call me back in a few minutes, when she's in the room and she can hear. She said it was awesome, and she can't wait to see it on her TV. His voice was spot-on, the lighting was incredible. It sounds like the coolest thing was a medley, done by Clay, Ruben (special guest) and Quiana. It was current pop songs sung in the big band style! That sounds like a LOT of fun to me! Reed was there,,,, Reed was wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and Chucks! More later... LOVE THE PICTURES!!! My favorite! -

OK, the meeting I went to was cancelled (except no one told me...grrr). Therefore, I raced home! Getting this out of the way first: the hair's kinda goofy. In an adorable way, though. Hee. But I'm thrilled for him, and his "coming home." He sounds so at peace, and so happy with this album. I love that he knows enough to know that Justin Timberlake is now an "old" joke for him, and he needs to come up with someone cooler to compare himself! I love that he seemingly knows his musical direction, and where that fits in his life. I love him. And another one to watch! myncblogs.com This one is 10 minutes long, and supposedly also includes his take on the Wake Co. School Board! -
