  1. I heard somewhere that Clay's cute too! Nice notes Clay -- great song, great singing. I love the high "find." Guh. Cool.
  2. Listening to this at this time of year reminds of me of Hallowismas two years ago.... ....but golly he sounds good..... Jesse is on the piano. Black suit, burgundy tie, black shoes/boots.
  3. Report from couchie from the party: the FCA is representing! She gave me names of those she remembers meeting (which I won't report for fear of forgetting someone!). She won a BAF hockey jersey! Unfortunately for her, it's an X-Small -- so Gibby is getting it instead! Also, play won something at the raffle too, but I didn't catch what it was. Finally, SmartyPantzSuz is there with the shirt she won at the BAF gala auction last March, and everyone was posing with it and feeling it up really good. (If Clay were in it, it would have been mauled....) She may or may not call me again tonight, just for the sake of I'm another one of those farm girls who needs some sleep (what with all that's gone on lately). OTOH, she might call me tomorrow morning, as I will be up getting ready for work and she will be catching a 6:00 a.m. flight! Yes, couchie thinks she's going to be at work tomorrow, functioning.
  4. Just got off the phone with couchie -- she's in Vegas, babeee! At the moment, she's waiting for FCAers to come up and say "are you couch tomato?" Anyway, she says "hi" to everyone, and she's planning to call me tonight when there are breaks in the action. (I wish I could stay up late, but I'll probably be a zombie by midnight, if not sooner....) aikim, good question -- how does everyone feel about that? I think I was just planning to talk about it here....
  5. I know what you look like, and that doesn't look like you at all! That lady is WAY too old.... But yeah, I know what you mean. I think the FCA board helped me a lot with my coming to terms about (probably) not seeing Clay in Spamalot. We'll be here to help you get through your concertless Christmas. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
  6. Hey soulsista! You don't have to tell us who you "are" if you don't want to, but welcome to FCA! Hope you post on our main thread....
  7. Toots, I certainly hope that isn't true! I thought I had read somewhere yesterday though that Lost already had a few episodes "in the can" though and could possibly start up. *crosses fingers* ETA: found something that corroborates my story: How Will The Strke Affect Lost?
  8. Yeah, that! :cry4: I'm in for that as well.... And I may not even get to see the Christmas show ON Christmas either, unless I can commandeer my husband's family's TV set, which is doubtful. Ah well, that's what DVR's and Clack Unlimited are for...as I found out last week.
  9. Bookwhore -- that bike ride would have scared the bejeezus out of me! And I'm usually the one in my household going "I wanna do that one!!!!" But not that..... My likes: the goths are going to be fun, I think. I also like the smart New Orleans kids and the lesbian couple. I also kinda like the hippie couple. My dislikes: the Blondies, version 2.0. I don't like them, simply on principle. I also think Jennifer is a whiny ass. No wonder he ass wouldn't move. (heh) Finally, I'm glad the couple that went home did. He seemed like a real jerk.
  10. keepingfaith -- you rang? Yes, I'm back. It's been an incredibly long two weeks, and stressful. My husband and I only blew up at each other twice, over silly things. Yep, that's the stress talking. We've been through a visitation, a funeral and an interment ceremony -- but the most stressful stuff was going through his Mom's apartment on Saturday. Not a lot of fun. Anyway, thank you ALL for all the hugs and kisses and well wishes. My husband is dealing with it the best that he can, and I'm trying my best to keep it together for him as well. I watched Clay on "Are You Cuter than a Fifth Grader?" today when I got home, and man, I must say that he's C-U-T-E! (Did I spell it right?) I'm so happy for him.... ...and now I see that tomorrow night is going to be a blast! I wish I was there. I wanna be there. WAH!!!! To all FCAers there -- have a fantastic time. play, take care of that foot! OK, now to catch up on the clack I missed! Oh, and I love any and all of the pins!
  11. Just a quick bop in to say....we're heading to out of town again. My MIL passed away this morning, and the funeral will be Friday. I have no idea when I'll be back. Glad all those in the earthquake zone are in good shape. For those heading to Vegas, have fun...and cheer on Clay for me tomorrow night.
  12. WOOHOO!!!!! The Amazing Race 12 contestants What an....interesting....bunch. If I'm reading this correctly, there's not a traditional married couple in the whole crowd. I need to watch the first week to see if there's any "God I hate these people already" or "These people are FANTASTIC!"
  13. Hey gang! Hubby and I are back home, and it's been a long few days. My MIL is still holding her own, but it really is just a matter of time -- which means that we could be dropping everything again in 12 hours, 2 days, a week, or two weeks. We really don't know. Both my husband and I though are incredibly glad we went when we did this past weekend. We could tell that she recognized us, and that's all we really needed. Well, we also needed to say some things, something you never want to say to anyone....but you just gotta do. So anyway, we're still on pins and needles at this point. Thank you all for being so supportive. In the meantime....God, you postwhores! Come back to 15 pages! And I find that my names is being bandied about for liking smiling Clay pictures and loving Honey Crisp apples (especially from atinal). I love it that you guys know me so well. The one picture I downloaded was that beautiful grin of his from the other night. And I'm still eating HoneyCrisp apples, thank you very much. Oh dear Lord, that performance at the Sedaka tribute? Chills. I don't get them very often from Clay's performances, but that one certainly did. I think someone here said it was a very mature performance, and I totally agree. It's as if he's getting the "weariness" of the song, totally understanding that feeling..... I'm glad Gibby Jr did well with her play, and belated birthday greetings to cindilu2! Thank you CG for the Solitaire montage too -- what a great way to relive those moments. I may have to load that to my iPod. What else did I miss? If David Foster produces Clay's next album -- GREAT! If someone else produces Clay's next album -- GREAT!!! Can you see where I'm going with this? I have to admit I'm curious, but not so much that I think everything rides on this selection. I just can't get totally worked up about the behind the scenes dealings with Clay's career. I know I've said this more than a few times here, so much so that many of you can probably say it with me -- it's not my job as a fan to know all that; I just want to listen to him, watch him, laugh at and with him, and enjoy him. Period. End of sentence. Thanks all for the As for all the angst and stuff regarding what Clay gets/doesn't get from whomever.... :boo-hoo: (I always wanted to use that emoticon....) Heh, Clay's blog cracked me up. I could feel his frustration through his writing. Heh. keepingfaith, we are definitely :4: regarding the use of "pissy Clay." I too think it sounds like a petulant child. Sure, it makes him human -- but sometimes humanity isn't pretty, and I just feel that petulance isn't pretty. That's why I don't have kids. The clip from AYSTAFG -- totally adorable. I hope I get to see it live with the rest of you. The boobgate picture was a surprise for me -- kind of the way Bookwhore described it. It was the image that was sold of him at the time, that he was a pretty innocent guy (whether it was true or not). I think that was the first day I went "OK, this guy can surprise me. I like that." And I've been enjoying all his surprises ever since. Finally -- a big and and just for being you guys. I too spent most of the day catching up, and my head was getting tired from all the nodding. There were SO MANY posts by SO MANY people that I simply loved -- too many to mention. So I won't! But remember that I appreciate everything and everyone here, even if sometimes I don't agree. That's what makes me love this board so much. 'night all. I'm pooped. Maybe I'll
  14. {{{{CG}}}} OK, I'm good in the knowledge that there will be clack for me (eventually -- God knows when I'll get online next), and that candy corn/dancing penises are back. All is right in the world. 'night all.
  15. I'm pretty sure he has some. CAP can't see it either, but she's pretty sure it looks crappy. God, I needed that laugh after today!!! Checking in from a hotel with wireless in Madison, Wisconsin -- our stopping point for the night. And I'm listening to the download right now....*sigh* I'm so proud of the guy.
  16. I've set up a poll to find out the best time for another FCA chat. The poll is located here. Deadline for voting will be Thursday, November 1 at 7:59 p.m. Eastern (heh, one minute before Clay appears on AYSTAFG...). The admins will get together very soon and decide on how long the chat will go each time and the topics. Meanwhile, I'm throwing things together to leave tomorrow afternoon to visit Minnesota. It sounds like MIL is getting worse, and we need to get up there...and may be up there for a while. Unfortunately, that also means no internet for me. I'll try my best to keep you all posted. I have cell phone numbers for half the people on this board, I should be able to call someone!
  17. First of all, welcome. Secondly, sorry if I contributed to your high expectations over this apple! I've had people tell me that HoneyCrisps this year aren't as good as they were in past years, supposedly because of the weather. The one's I've managed to find this year have been pretty good, IMO. I just like an apple that has a real CRUNCH when you bite into it. Another thing that is going for the HoneyCrisp is that they keep really good. I've bought a peck of them, and two weeks later, they're still good. Good luck to all those sending stories to Teacher Clay. *sigh* I just don't have many memories of Christmases in my family. Not a huge holiday family, I guess. OMG, that is absolutely HYSTERICAL!! :lmaosmiley-1: I LOVE him!! Was that from AFTER the a-hand-on-each-ass trick I wonder? :lmaosmiley-1: I haven't seen the clack from SLC yet, but I've used a clip from BigApple4Clay's clack of the same show as my avatar.... I think this was when someone from the back suggested to Clay that he should come and sit back there with them, and he says "no thank you!" and then gives this will smile! He's so adorable in that clip. I'll have to get SLC's version and compare..... Good for you! Standing up for your principles! I like Gala's too (as well as Fuji's), so if I can't find HoneyCrisps, that's what I go for next. Just wanted to see this again on the page. He's such an imp. I love him. You know, my brain has been so discombobulated these past few days with family stuff that I simply keep forgetting that TOMORROW is the Sedaka party!!! OMG, I hope someone can call someone and give a report here. I do remember that next week as Fifth Grader, though -- I think that sticks in my brain more because I (hopefully) will get to see it.
  18. "Happy typing!" Heh. God, I love him. I'm not planning to enter, but I may have to reread the rules for entry again, to see if they are THAT hard to understand. I mean, really -- if he has to go into teacher mode and such. OTOH, I think teacher mode is HAWT!!!
  19. From laughn: I am looking forward to every beautiful, funny, cheese-a-licious thing he throws my way this Christmas. And a reworking from something suggested by FromClaygary: Looking forward to our Christmas romp in the snow with our Boyfriend!
  20. atinal, I had the same exact thought yesterday as I was gazing lovingly on our current banner (merrieeee, you so rawk!). It's been amazing to me watching the man almost literally "grow up" in front of our eyes. (That's "grow UP" people, not just "grow" -- and you know who you are....) That is GREAT advice for just life in general. It sure is, isn't it? I'm laughing like crazy today, because it seems everyone else around me here at work is being a bunch of whiny asses. For some reason, the bolded part just cracked me up this morning. KAndre, have you shared your "relationship" with Clay with this dentist? *g* I think she posted and ran last night once, but I was wondering where she was too! I can identify with this sentiment -- although I think he'll figure it all out soon enough on his own. He does seem to get sick a bunch, but some people are just like that. Highly allergic people, I think, seem to have particular problems. As I said, though -- he'll figure out what to do in order to keep himself as healthy as possible. I hope. Maybe. *slaps down a $50 bill* I totally believe that he does the Christmas shows for a couple of reasons. One is that I see them as a Christmas gift to his fans, albeit ones that can travel to particular areas. I honestly think if he could do a show in every section of the country between Thanksgiving and Christmas in order to thank his fans for their support, he'd do it. I also see these shows as a way to "recharge his spiritual batteries" as it were. I think his faith keeps him grounded, and this is a way to share his faith without probably offending too many people. I personally believe he'll do a Christmas tour until he 85 and too old to keep touring. Aw man. I'm bummed. I truly did think his career was over. [/snark] Seriously -- I think this fandom thrives on "highs and lows," just as a junkie seems to from their drugs. I've always said that clack was so very aptly named, and I think now that the fandom has been around for a few years, it's REALLY showing itself to be true. There are times when the hits need to be SO strong, and SO concentrated. And then, when there's "nothing" -- the lows are so intense as well. It's a tiring feeling IMO, actually. I think I'm addicted to Clay -- but not so much that I need to be on a roller coaster all the time. I hear ya. We usually get Trans Siberian Orchestra, Jim Brickman, and Amy Grant. *sigh* Someday, maybe Clay will play in Peoria.... Thread title? I'm going to work on a variation on this for a thread title too: "Looking forward to our Christmas romp in the snow with our Boyfriend!" couchie and luckiest1 -- my sentiments exactly....he'll tour when he tours. All I can hope for, really.
  21. An extreme closeup of this: Remember the good times when this Rolling Stone cover was discovered? And how we're all like "Nah. That CAN'T be the cover! " And then it was!
  22. Morning all! OK, admission time: the way most of you seem to feel about dentists and doctors? That's how my husband and I feel about having kids! My husband and I got married at an age when most people have been married and had a few kids for a few years. Also, both he and I were babies of the family, both being born when our parents were in their early 40's. In both our cases, the experiences were OK, but not fantastic -- in my case, it always seemed to me that Mom didn't have as much time for me and what I wanted to do. In my mind, that equated with her age. In hindsight, I know that's ageist. Anyway, my husband and I decided that we really didn't want children, partially for that reason, but also partially because it is a crap shoot, as many are saying here. You never know what you'll get -- and for some reason, my husband and I just didn't feel that the risk was justified. I'm sure we're missing out on a LOT....but we also have nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that we love dearly, and get to experience kid joys through them. (We're also making plans NOW for who will take care of us when we're 80...) On other lighter topics: Honeycrisp Apples. From what I know of them, they are a fairly new "breed," and they are fantastic. So Clay got himself an iTouch, eh? Man, he really is an Apple geek. (For those who don't know, an iTouch is the latest iPod -- except that it works like an iPhone with the huge touch screen. iTouch.) Wouldn't you like to see an ad for this product with Clay -- theme song being "iTouch myself?" Wonder what's up with him and blogging and deleting said blog? Poor baby if he truly is sick. I hope he's well enough by Friday.
  23. Yeah, I was thinking after the show party too. The reason I suggested Buffalo Wild Wings is that they usually are open until about 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. I went to an afterparty after the Indiana State Fair JBT, and it was fantastically fun. But it would be nice if we could just take over a hotel room. I'm thinking that the hotel lobby at the Radison will be overtaken by many other Clay fans. Not that I want to be exclusionary, I guess, but I like a quieter/smaller afterparty in many instances. Any other suggestions.
  24. I'm in for a preparty too. Where should we look for a place? Or does someone want to "donate" their hotel room for a party place? I could always bring tequila, orange juice, peach schapps, and sprite to make Fuzzy Treasure Trails!!! luckiest1, we went to Smokey Bones last year, right? I wonder if it closed -- I can't find them on their website anymore in Merrillville. I did discover that there is a Buffalo Wild Wings close to the theater though -- that might work. Also, where is everyone staying? I'm tempted to splurge on this one and getting into the Radisson next door to the theater.
