  1. There are two clips that I'd love to download if I knew where to find them -- the one referenced above when he humped the girl, and the other is when some guy is onstage singing Invisible and cracked Clay up when he did the shirt tug. Anyone? Bueller? KAndre? Here's the one with Matt And the one in Charlotte http://youtube.com/watch?v=UOYP_dZ7iS8 Thanks! And thanks to jmh I downloaded the one from Charlotte. The one with the guy, does anyone remember the venue? ETA: Heidi! What a stupendous show that was ... the last one of that glorious weekend (April 27) -- Brad Oscar's last performance as Bedevere and the cast was really camping it up all night. A lot has been fogged over in my brain because once Clay rode his horse so slowly and deeply right in front of us it was almost lights out for me. Solo tried to warn me about it ... but damn it knocked my socks off. I'm going to try to feel my way through the fog because there was a lot going on in that show. Clay was shaking and baking it all night. He's was shimmying like Sister Kate. And I remember unexpected hilarities throughout the show, and we all talked about it that night ... and that night we were all right up there .... and now, like Kaiser Soze, poof, it's gone. Is there some magic dust emitted that makes us fog out? Maybe it was in Zuzu's Petals the confetti. I forgot, merrieeee's are Zuzu's Petals! Couchie, you were there too. And ShellyC. Somebody has to have a brain among us, you think maybe? Okay, I know 00lsee would remember EVERYTHING. And she has the nerve to go on vacation at a time like this!!! We can hope, of course, that KAndre has been sandbagging that recap for two months .....

  3. ewww! Vinegar and salt on good old English chips!! Yummy Oh Goodness YES, merrieeee! I'm a vinegar and salt devotee.
  4. Clay was hilarious every single night of the JnaT -- including Long Island when he was so ill -- especially regarding "Mom" and her family scattered around the audience and Clay trying to keep up with who was sitting where and why -- and he said he expected to find Kevin Bacon in the audience! (Didn't I hear that Kevin Bacon was at Spamalot?) And I loved Elmer "do you want to trade names?" in Grand Rapids. (You might not want to wear white so much) I loved his faux truck-driver "I Love You, Clay" and "I Love You, too (spit)" in Charlotte. And every performance of DCAT was a blast - whether in person or via cellcert and clack. He brought it every single night. Now, about Tampa .... I recall something about a reed.
  5. Perma, I totally agree about the Fort Myers banter. Now, about the WTLGD and Quiana sitting on Clay's lap .... this HAS to be seen from Scruffy's Best Of Fort Myers. http://www.clackunlimited.com/clack/Montag..._of_SRHPT_2007/ It's the second one of three at Fort Myers entitled: 21b_BestOf_SRHPT_2007_Banter_FtMyers_scruffy13_large.wmv and people DO NOT MISS IT. It begins with the TV Jingles contest (and includes Clay as "He-Man") but the WTLGD is shot from two different cameras and edited together. When you see his hand on Quiana, you next see his reaction behind her. It's one of my top five pieces of Clack of all time. 21a contains all the great clack of Scarlett's camera in Clay's hands (which is available in shorter clips and on YouTube), but immediately preceding it at about 3:10 Clay leans back on his stool and engages in some serious exposure. Both of these are in my folder of The Essentials.

Or that we're just DAMN GOOD!!!!!
  7. My favorite of Clay having the giggles when trying to sing ----- Tampa last year ----- he fought it the whole song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_c2lWOa1E8...feature=related
  8. Maybe it's on The Acrobats album? Regarding DLTSGDOM, I never believed for one minute that Clay didn't know Elton John wrote and originally sang it. For one thing, he sang the Elton John version on his demo tape. Also, he talked about Idol calling EJ to get permission for him to sing it on the Wild Card show. "Let the boy sing the song!" Just another case of Clay being the cutest kidder. He loves to pull our leg. Okay, muski, I gave you one hell of a straight line there.
  9. Regarding thread title, ya'll speak for yourselves, but it may actually BE my life right now -- and my passion -- they tend to be inseparable for me. Regarding the fandom, there are probably as many reasons why fans drop off, as there are reasons why new fans come aboard -- and not necessarily online, btw. Where young people are involved, tastes are apt to change every six months, I understand that. Regarding people who wanted to make sure Clay made it and showed Simon a thing or two -- he did, and that's something no one can ever take away, and it's very understandable those fans could feel their work is done and have moved on to the next potential star. Fans who moved along because Clay doesn't sing the kind of music they like -- completely rational and who's to argue if they don't enjoy his music anymore? Regarding people who wanted Clay to be their religious icon -- or folks who needed him to be either straight or gay to like him -- nothing I can remotely understand. But what really gets me are those who have been personally disappointed for whatever particulars, and somehow think it's important to regularly whine about it, in detail. Not here, of course, but it did drive me away from other places. Why is it okay to be a drain on the psyches of people who are crazy about Clay? That's a bummer, man! Actually, I can understand it at OFC, because people pay their money and if they get down on Clay they feel empowered by their $35 to say so, and if the powers that be don't like it they can be banned. But I love Clay and I love his music, and I love seeing him perform -- in concert, on Broadway -- everywhere. So I ignore the people who aren't happy. And that's why, I'm HERE! If there's a song that reflects my opinion about loving and supporting Clay Aiken it's by the Rolling Stones -- wild horses couldn't drag me away -- wild horses, we'll ride them someday. Oh, and Muski, speaking of James Taylor, ask your hubby if he's not a fan of Steamroller Blues -- the live version. (Yeah, like you're worried! )
  10. After careful reconsideration and reading the definition again -- I agree that it's probably anarcho-syndicalist. But, I think that George Carlin was definitely an anarcho-cynicalist is the classic sense. One more thing about George, I get a warm feeling when avowed atheists pass on -- I know they're getting a big thrill and a huge surprise. And no, I don't buy into the inferno theory, unless someone insists on experiencing that! Miss Couch Tomato .... did you model for this album cover? Tell the truth now .... To close, and in the spirit of reconciliation always being available ....
  11. Wanted to make a correction to one of the thread title choices: The term is actually "anarcho-cynicalist" -- and it's one of those things I know for no good reason. Scarlett, the Xvid was delicious! Thank you for everything you do. 00lsee, hope you have a fantastic vacation and I'm looking forward to some of your photographs. Your NY pictures were incredibly good. (Scarlett, what time does the party start and will there be a male stripper?) RIP, George Carlin. Now, if ever there was an anarcho-cynicalist .....
  12. OMG, Muski, you said Willin' by Little Feat? That's just flat freaky. Wouldn't happen to be the live version that ends with "Bogart" would it? Lowell George, man oh man. ETA: Just remembering the album cover -- a cute tomato lounging in a hammock. Could that be ..... no, it couldn't .... or is it????? Oh, and I love Fat Man in the Bathtub too, for what it's worth. I said it's freaky because I was going through some of my digital music today and saw Willin' and went looking for it on YouTube. Just a few hours ago. I'm coincidence's bitch.
  13. I think there were a lot of us at that concert were whispering more than Je-sus...more like whimpering OMG over & over!! I'll never know how I survived the front row. That man is lethal! Can you believe it will be one year ago in 15 days? merrieeee, I remember how you swooned over his clothes and were telling me, "look at the buttons on his sleeve ... look at those soft gorgeous shoes -- and then there was that rivet deal! Yes, you kept talking about the shoes on his feet, and that made it mightily difficult to exercise restraint when those feet were no more than 10-12 inches from my hands. I love the feet of Clay, and the footwear too. Maybe that's why he had lyrics printed for us on this CD! When I first read your comment about how you couldn't get past the part about the woman who hung her children in GOG, I was ... WTF? What in this world is she talking about? Now everytime I hear the song and it gets to that line, I think about you and it CMSU! Glad you're back.
  14. I'm feel postwhorish tonight. OOooommmmmm feels good. Just recalling that when I saw Wings Over America (at one of the first events in The Summit, which is now Lakewood Church!) my hubby and I went with another couple, neighbors. Diane and I both loved Paul McCartney, but our husbands didn't. I had really fucked up and married this guy who didn't like the bulk of the music I adored -- unfortunately he was way too cool for my music passions. Anyway, Mike and Gary spent most of Wings Over America either standing in the beer line, or peeing. Diane and I did not care. Because it was PAUL, for God's sake. Or it was Stephen Stills (because we saw CSN with this couple, too). Anyway, the bands our hubbys liked, you don't know 'em. They faded away. They sucked. They were cool. And this, my dear sisters, is one of the reasons I want to explode when I read about some of us feeling ashamed of our ages, that we're not 22 and hot, etc. etc. et al. We are the women that loved the musicians and singers and bands who became the legends of today, and whose music is classic, and we loved them when they weren't cool. I know there are many who think The Beatles were always cool. But I know that I personally took shit about it in Texas -- and must have heard 1,000 times .... oooh, you like those fags? Anyway, it was the WOMEN, the CHICKS who were the first to pick up on, and fall in love with, the music that has endured and will live on. When the "dudes" think Clay's not cool, and their "old ladies" agree because they're down with what the foxy dude thinks is cool ..... hey, I've seen that show. They go drifting into oblivion on the cool boat. I was never intimidated by it. In fact, if history tells me anything, it is that being first accepted and adored by females, and especially the same damn females who recognized the giants of our generation, that's a hell of a positive indicator for Clay Aiken. I think it's high-time we weren't so intimidated as fans by what the "cool dudes" think about us. They've been wrong, all along. They ain't shit.
  15. sheiladownunder, the DVD is out there, it's the Back in the U.S. Concert Film. Worth every penny - hell, I'd pay a premium. And I always get a lump when they show the middle-aged man choking back tears during All My Loving.
  16. This is a question for those of you who think the Orlando IWTKWLI is the best one ... and it is great .... and I do love the heartache and pain references and the cute way they were playing in this song .... but have you seen the West Palm Beach version lately? I saw both shows and both were excellent, but for my money, Clay and Angela totally smoked it in WPB. I don't know if this is the best audio quality version on YouTube, but it does it ALL for me (I'm a fool for the finger wigglling come-ons to Angela):
  17. Oh, am I behind on UTubing the FCA? Well, if I can't tube the Guadalupe, this is the next best tubing for me. I love this video from the bottom of my heart, and wouldn't give anything for my DVD of the 2002 tour .... this he did for Linda. (But on the MIA part, I think it's Abe that does it for me. I love to watch him): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abopwVAoGh0 These two videos couldn't be separated by me -- so, here it is, with Linda. (God, I love it and vividly recall this concert in 1976! But, alas, no Abe. Of course, how old was Abe then?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkAuBGyQVG4...feature=related ETA: I know nobody cares, but Jimmy McCulloch played a legendary guitar solo for Wings in this one, and he also played lead guitar in another song that was my favorite at a different time and place ... (Call out the instigators, 'cause there's) Something In The Air -- when he was in Thunderclap Newman.
  18. The slow build continues .... On the AC chart this morning, Clay is at #26 CLAY AIKEN On My Way Here Spins This Week 121 Spins Last Week 100 Spincrease +21 Taking Off Chart - #8 (hey, one spin ahead of Coldplay) Audience in Millions - 0.253 LEADERS: WCDV-FM Baton Rouge 11 KMGA-FM Albuquerque 11 KUMU-FM Honolulu 10 WRAL-FM Raleigh 8 KBEZ-FM Tulsa 7 KKMY-FM Beaumont, TX 7 Regarding the Top 3 Clay and Non-Clay .... that's like asking me which one of my children is my favorite. If both categories were Top 30, maybe I could do it. Maybe. But even that would be a snapshot.
  19. Anyone else read today that Major General Anthony Taguba, who wrote the 2004 military report on Abu Ghraib and testified to Congress about it in 2005, and then was summarily forced into retirement (of course), has now written: Read all about here at General Accuses White House of War Crimes posted today at WP Online: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...1801546_pf.html I hope Gen. Taguba won't be flying in small aircraft in the near future. This will end up being just another story the corporate media wouldn't dare touch, I betcha. Hope I'm wrong, but if the past is prologue this will be completely ignored.
  20. OMG, I left out Zeppelin in my magical musical fantasy tour. Question #1: If Clay Aiken really is "Falling" could he, please God, fall into some of Plant's old shirts? Question #2: What happened to this kind of rock??? Kashmir is neither upbeat nor uptempo, yet I dance and it's Bonham's doing. And no, there's no pole involved!!! Live Zeppelin was like nothing else in this world --- a hot piece of business it was. Three hour concerts with no intermissions and 20 minute versions of How Many More Times and Whole Lotta Love ... gone but not forgotten. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoEhWnTTKLM...feature=related
  21. For me, the upbeat is an unaccented beat before the first beat of the measure, or the conductor's upward stroke of the baton before a measure. Or it means being in a really nice mood. Uptempo means .... something you can tap your toes to. And KAndre, I've never thought Dylan's words were obscure or overly poetic. For me he is dead-on in describing things in ways that bring certain things into clearer focus -- some people call that poetic vision, but it's a gift whatever it is. I never thought of Dylan as prosaic or poetic as much illuminating. He fed my mind for a few years.
  22. Maybe they releasing OMWH as a single in the US, EIDN in Canada, and Ashes in ... Slovenia?
  23. I think the dodgy brother of Pamela was Cliff Barnes -- but the actor's name was Ken, I think. About ATDW, I can't go longer than a couple of days without Right Here Waiting ... and Lonely No more ... and then Without You is a MUST. I still marvel at this one. Nope, ATDW has stuff on there I get the itch for. Broken Wings is a real need, and I adore Everything I Do. I'll never let this go. I'm so aware that there are others that didn't get that loving feeling from ATDW, but I'm definitely on the BIG LOVE side. Now IF I were obsessed with thinking that RCA is putting out roadblocks for Clay, and adjusted my tinfoil hat, I could come down on the side of RCA wanting to force Clay to use the RCA stable of songwriters, arrangers, engineers and career planners. Kelly Clarkson's December project power struggle with RCA indicated that the label was thumbs down, and right on cue the critics didn't like it either. RCA didn't like her writing her own material and owning the project, because the label wanted the big money they recoup from providing their contract people on their artists' projects. If they aren't getting a huge slice, they don't care to promote. Now I just made that up and the labels probably don't have these people under contract at all, because I have no way of knowing and anything can be imagined. Generally, I don't waste more than a minute here and there on speculation about the muckety-mucks, because in essence I adore OMWH. This is a GREAT CD. It is something to behold. I'm sure Clay is proud of every sound on it, and if he loves it and I love it, what more can I ask? How Clay chooses to work and his business values are not my business. In solidarity with CinPA ... he's not going away. He's Clay Aiken, the one and only, for God's sake! Wonder if Clay wrote this replacement verse himself: Everyday it makes the headlines Someone’s struggling for their lives Feels like I’m watching from the sidelines where nothing ever changed just the truth got rearranged That was originally: Mother Earth is down on her knees Poison rivers run to dead seas Cities eating up the green fields We never question why How truth turns into lies
  24. You are me (almost). Maybe I really am. Just listened to Ripple this morning. If I knew the way, I would take you home. And I'm still a little burned about Cream breaking up -- but the Derek & The Dominoes concert was pretty damn good, even though Eric never once moved.
