Last night in the chat room at the OFC I met a woman who is just new to the fandom. She has a son with autism and came across the National Inclusion Project. Knew nothing about Clay until someone told her about his music and now she is hooked. It was so cool talking to someone who is just a fan..doesn't know of the history of the last 8 years and just loves his voice. She has been getting lost in youtube. A great reminder of why we are here and what got us here and that maybe we get so caught up in the baggage of Clay's career that we just forget to enjoy! 30 Days until Clay is on DDD! Shortyjill Can't they give you a loaner car if yours is not done? Well, last night was interesting. I was at school and we had storms go through the area; about 8:00 they announced a tornado warning and we had to go down to the basement. They would not let us use the elevators, so being on the 4th floor we had to walk down 4 flights of stairs. Would not have been a problem normally, but last night we had a project due....a book display...so there we are schlepping down the stairs carrying poster boards and bags of books and purses and whatnot. We ended up staying down there for an hour until we got the all clear. No tornados in our area, but some did touch down west of us. 32 Days until Clay is on DDD! Happy Birthday to all celebrating! Who would have thought I would be taking a college course and doing kindergarten crafts. Have to make a display board; since I collect Little Golden Books, I decided to do mine on that. I have a reference book on them, so have been making copies (thank God I have a color copier!) of the pages with the books and I am going to cut them out and put around my poster board as a frame. My daughter already painted a border for me. Then I have pages on the history I have laminated to go inside the frame. It is due Tuesday, but I am trying to get it done now so I don't have to spend all week-end on it. Lots of pasting to do! Oh yeah, my Cubbies beat the Yankees today! Color me shocked..they have been having a really crappy season and I was expecting the worst! Kim

I spent the morning at the library practicing "The Three Little Pigs" with my friend Margaret for class Tuesday night..we are doing storytelling and that is the story we chose. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to tell a simple story, but trying to figure out who would tell what parts and who be the wolf and who would be the pigs was a challenge..I think we finally got it done..we even sat at the computer and wrote a script! Then we had to pick out 3 books for another project..Storytime where we read a book and do an activity. I found a really cute book called David's Drawing which is about teamwork..David starts drawing a picture of a tree and as the story goes along, each of his friends add to the picture and in the end it becomes not just David's Drawing but a Class Drawing. I am going to bring paper and crayons and since we only have 8 people in the class have one person start the drawing and then pass it along to the next one and at the end of class see what kind of drawing we have! I think it will be fun! I was really worried about all these storytelling projects in the beginning, but now I am looking forward to them. Clay content: I can just see Clay laying on the floor coloring with Parker! Kim

Today is the anniversary of when Clay and Ruben were on Oprah and there was some conversation about him tugging on his shirt that day...amazing how much has changed in 8 years. Kim

Craziest moments: Getting in a car with someone I had never met before to go the NAT concert in Rockford. I had not planned to go, mentioned in on the board..she offered to pick me and before I knew it, I had a ticket and was on my way..my kids thought I was nuts. Talking my husband into going to Ashville last year...how great it would be to go to NC since we had never been and Oh, by the way there is a Clay concert we can take it and we are spending the week-end with a Clay fan and her husband "waves to Fear "..fortunately for me he didn't blink and eye or think it was weird..we had the best time! 44 Days until Clay is on DDD!
