  1. Hey Couchie, they must have read your post. They tweeted, and it was a nice one too. Can you give them any other suggestions?
  2. liney, hope everything turns out ok. It's scary when you don't know what's happening. luckiest, congratulations on your job. Really excited about this coming year. I can't wait to find out what Clay has in store for us.
  3. Just wanted to stop in and say Happy New Year to everyone here at FCA. Hope this year will be overflowing with Clay.
  4. That sounds good Couchie, and if he's anywhere in the MD/DC/VA/PA area around then, feel free to stay with me for awhile. And I have a king size bed so there is plenty of room. Just hope you aren't allergic to dogs.
  5. Well I'm certainly hoping for a better 2010 with lots more Clay and lots more money. This year has been short on both but it wasn't too bad of a year overall. I did get to the gala and Clay's last Spam and met lots of wonderful Clay fans. I knew some Clay fans that left but none that I was close to. Can't say I'm interested in their opinion now. I'd much rather hang out with other fans that share my interest. And just want to let all the clack gatherers and info gatherers know how much I appreciate all that they have given us over the years.
  6. Well treenuts just said it all for me, so I'll just
  7. I'm so so on Adam. I do think that he has a good voice, just don't particularly like the direction he is going, and I can't stand the cat screeching. The tongue also needs to stay in the mouth. I'm not sure why I love seeing Clay's tongue but Adam's makes me think of a cow's tongue. My daughter was not impressed at all by Adam and thought he looked like a freak. Since I remember KISS, I actually thought Adam looked somewhat toned down, at least for him. Performance-wise, I actually thought Adam sounded better than JLo. I hated the song and if I heard that chorus one more time, I might have thrown something at the tv. I honestly would have appreciated it more with the sound off because she does put on a great performance, as long as you don't expect singing. I was surprised by the results last night. My favorites were actually Jakob and Ashleigh. I really enjoyed all of those in the top 8 actually. There were some really impressive dancers this time.
  8. I got some good news yesterday, which I really needed because otherwise it was a bad day. I have a friend who has gone to Clay concerts with me and likes him, just not like we do, called me to tell me about her son. He's about 17 months and is going through a stage now where he's not sleeping all through the night. She told me that she started playing Clay's Christmas cd to see if it would help him sleep, and loves it. He'll point to the cd player for her to turn it on. Kid's got great taste.
  9. I'll be another twitter hold out because unlike Scarlett, I never go anywhere so there would be no need. I can't even get into facebook although I have one. I don't do any of those games, I'm not one to do random chatting, so I can't figure out why I'm even there. I saw that Reed/Clay thing yesterday. Makes me feel all schmoopie.
  10. I think I must be in some alternate universe. Good press for Clay, who woulda thought it? It's really nice to hear all these nice mentions and if Decca is responsible for this, I want to kiss everyone there. Found another positive mention, posted at Conclayve: http://www.americanidol.com/news/view/pid/2201/ Happy Birthday, Clay Aiken! Clay Aiken, the popular Season 2 runner-up, has done everything from releasing albums to touring to performing on Broadway to acting on TV. The 31-year-old Raleigh native's more recent debut is becoming a father to son Parker. After a successful run on American Idol's second season, Clay was signed to RCA Records. He released five albums on the label, the multi-platinum debut album Measure of a Man in 2003, Merry Christmas with Love in 2004, A Thousand Different Ways in 2006, the 2006 EP All Is Well, and On My Way Here in 2008. On March 31, 2009, Clay released Playlist: The Very Best of Clay Aiken, a compilation of some of his greatest hits which included "Solitaire" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water," songs that Clay sang as a contestant on American Idol. Clay has launched eight tours and authored a New York Times best-selling book called Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life. He's also had a number of television appearances including the 2004 televised Christmas special A Clay Aiken Christmas which he also executive produced, Scrubs, Saturday Night Live, and 30 Rock. In January of 2008, Clay made his Broadway debut as Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot. We caught up exclusively with Clay in 2008 to learn more about his role in Spamalot. Read the interview. Before becoming an American Idol superstar, Clay tutored a child with autism. Due to his passion to help children with autism, Clay co-founded the National Inclusion Project in 2003 with the mother of the boy he tutored. In 2004, Clay was appointed to National Ambassador for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and in 2006 he was appointed for a two-year term to the Presidential Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. UNICEF has sent Clay to countries around the world. This month, Clay posted a blog that revealed he's been traveling to record music for his new album. "I am quite happy with what we are doing this time, and extremely satisfied with the direction we are headed in on this album," Clay said. Happy Birthday, Clay!
  11. Me either. He's such an adorable little boy and I'd love to get pictures of him, even if they are a year old.
  12. My oh my, the boy does get around. From the DR to NYC....he must have uncle David's Lear jet We have a tweet thread? Who knew? I'm glad you posted it here cuz I usually never make it outside of main, unless ldyj starts up her poll of pretty pictures again.
  13. Congratulations Couchie and Merrieeee. And Clayzy, feel free to ramble anytime. It's enjoyable.
  14. I'm with you guys. He sounds so excited and happy. And I would love a PBS special. Have to admit that I'd prefer an all Clay tour but there are worse people he could tour with, and him and Ruben have such great chemistry together that it should be a hoot.
  15. Chocolate covered bacon? That sounds disgusting. I think I'll just take your word on how it tastes. Blech.
  16. treenuts, I sure hope Clay tours soon and I can meet up with you sometime. You crack me up.
  17. He looks great in that pic. I like his hair best when it doesn't look like it has product in it. It looks so soft. Also like the stubble and shades. Wonder what he was doing in SF, assuming he wasn't there only to buy sunglasses.
  18. CF, you aint fooling nobody. You just came over for birthday gifts. And how the hell did you get so many posts already?
  19. Couchie, your niece and nephew are gorgeous. Your niece is a real stunner.
  20. I love hearing stories like that. Of course, we all knew Clay was smart and nice, but it's always nice to hear others talk about it. And CF, I reserve the right to still blame you if I get sick for at least another week. It made me feel good today because my students were asking about me. I had to go for training this morning for my work and when I got into the school, a lot of them came up to me and seemed glad that I made it in. I'm really gonna miss them when my student teaching is over in December.
  21. I'm almost speechless. CF was starting to cross over into my territory with her sappiness. It's ok CF, we know bitching in your case just appears to be genetic or something. Trust me people, she don't just bitch about Clay. It makes her happy so just pat her on the head and give a "there, there" every now and then and all will be good.
  22. Well thankfully, the music Clay likes to sing is usually the music I like to listen to, but for me, it all goes back to the voice. Even when he has sung songs in concert that I haven't liked by the original artist, heck even when he has sung TV show theme songs, I get wrapped up in that voice. And after listening to Moon River over and over again since Saturday, I am in love all over again. I don't know the Andy Williams version. Liked his Christmas shows when I was a kid but wouldn't have bought a cd of his, but I loved the version done in Breakfast at Tiffany's by Audrey Hepburn. Clay brings that same kind of wistfulness that she brought. And that deep, husky sound he brings to the song just gives me shivers. CF, if you get me sick, I'm seriously gonna hurt you. I will hunt you down.
  23. Hey, what about some sympathy for me. I had to put up with her bitching all weekend. I think I deserve some hugs.
