Just for fun (and not to raise our expectations to some impossible level), what are your dream scenarios for Clay's Great New York Adventure? What excites you most about this upcoming year?

That Clay gets to spend plenty of on-air time with his clutch of NYC blondes: Diane Sawyer, Lara Spencer, Juliet Whatsit from the Mike & Juliet Show, and I'll throw Tyra in there 'cause sometimes she's got blondish extensions. I think I'd even like to see KRip have to suck it up and kiss his ass on-air.

Seriously, I have high hopes about what this experience will do for many aspects of his career. I hope the creative, performing side gets even more polished by spending time with and learning from other professional actors and singers. (It probably wouldn't kill him to pick up some tricks on maintaining his vocal health and all that.)

But mostly, I hope that Clay gets to expand his list of professional contacts to include maybe network TV people and whatnot, and the whole experience leads to things we never even dreamed of for him. (My ultimate fantasy - Guest starring role on Pushing Daisies that lasts over several episodes and includes singing with Kristin Cheneworth and Ellen Greene.)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE those are great!!! specially the pushing daisies part because he will fit right in I would think.

My hope...is that the industry will start to recognize his comedic talent as well as his singing. I think this is what will open all kinds of new doors for him both in TV and Movies. I also think that he fits in better with the New York side of the business...not the fluffy LA scene.

I am still in pins and needles about this whole Broadway appearance. I know he is very capable of truly impressing everyone...just hope the critics will be fair. I do think this is one time when the critics play a huge part on the success of a performer or a show because this is not a one shot deal like a concert. If he gets good reviews, he will get more than just Clay fans buying tickets. I am so glad we have a lot of FCAers going to the show, we do not have to rely on reports from other boards...one request...please keep in touch so we know your reactions as soon as you come out of the theater...awww I wish I can be there.

Skybar...no need to apologize for your opinions. I personally love it when people with different opinions share and triggers a lively discussion. What caused me to leave another board is when people were no longer discussing ...but trying to shut people up because they were hurting Clay. Or when people treat posts with different opinions with hostility or when people try to get me to see the error of my ways. That was maddening. I like agreeing to disagree, people get along better that way.

oh cotton its fine...its not like we will suddenly get all worried about Clay or take this post seriously. I haven;t been going around to other boards and when people mention what is being posted on other boards...sometimes I wonder if a bit of hyperbole is added for effect...well reading that post shows me that such ridiculous thought process are out there...its just incredible that people don;t just flat out laugh at them and treat them as a joke.

I am bad. I admit it.

Well, if he goes with his own hair we can definitely kiss an early 2008 album release good bye. He may well be able to record with long hair, but I doubt they would do a photo shoot.

i am new at this, well lets talk about clay, i love clay people at work tease me all the time about clay they say he is gay, well if he is so what, but i think he is not, any way i would still support clay and love him no matter what.clay has brought great joy to my life, i went to his concert on dec-21 2007, in omaha ne, he was great, there for awhile i have giving up on hope,about ever thing ,clay gives me the will power, i did not know clay was going to be in omaha i live 100 miles away that is close enough to go. my freind she called me dec 9 and said are you going to clays concert dec 21 in omaha, i said what are you talking about, mind you i know ever thing about clay i mean when it comes to concerts, they had stared selling tickets sebt 15, i had no ideal, i have been sick for a while , with blurred vision numbness in my face and hands, not feeling well, and working in a casino that is scary, i made a mistake that amost cost me my job,i am a cashier, i work with alot of money. but any way aug i was dienosed with MS, pertty sary, that is why when clay was going to be in omaha dec 21, i was so happy, people might think i am crazy, but clay is the glue that keeps me together, he gives me my strenght, my family does not understand me, even though i have never ment clay in person, there is just something so strong about him his music his voice,that i can find the strengh, i have to take a shot ever day for the rest of my life, there is no cure for this, and this is scary, but i know clay brings great joy to people like me you, clay is the best meds for me he keeps my faith in god,and gives me hope, i hope some day i can tell him my self what a great person he is. :thbighug-1: tink

Everyone knows I love Clay, take trips for him and all. I have semi-clayverted my whole family. mr chach thinks he is a fine upstanding man, and was appalled at all the shit that went down in the past. He listens with relish to all Clay's escapades and keeps saying, "When will there be a new album?"

My BIL/boss did a big no no and drew a mustache on my Clay calendar a couple of years ago (the OH-fishul one!) and I railed him about it. My job is such that I can take off whenever I want to (there are only 2 of us!) so I don't have a problem there (I just don't get paid when I'm not there!) I get a little grief now and then, but most people know it makes me happy. My daughters even brag about my web site to people sometimes!

I guess I've got it good!

We try to donate a part of the profit to BAF whenever we make FCA pins and the rest goes to upkeep of the board..but since we don;t price this for profit, at times we truly can't since we just cover the cost for the pins and shipping. It all depends on how many orders we get cos the price of the pins goes down the more we order.

i said that to someone once, about not singing with his pecker, because i get tired of hearing the gay thing. i'm not sure what people think they are accomplishing when they said that. some people who barely know me will say that when they find out that i like clay. i think its so rude to diss someone that a person likes. i may say that i don't like that person, and i may even say why, but i don't do the whole name-calling thing. nor am i the type to spread rumors. it's probably why i didn't fit in that well when i worked with a big company because i could care less who slept with who (whom?), never could figure out when to use whom. if it didn't affect me, i didn't care.

you know there are just some people who are naturally rude and very insensitive. Also ...it is sad but trash talking about someone seems to be the norm in some circles. I mean it is all over in our TV and lots of MTV shows are just about comedians trashing celebrities. Its like a sport...and if its someone that is thought to be in the closet...well you just find so many people will have some theories about it one way or the other. I mean I find myself doing it on the boards in other celebrity threads...although I have become more sensitized to it because of Clay. I still find myself trash talking on Britney for instance...

Oh, I never bring up the subject of Clay at work. Just that when his name does come up, people know I am a fan and seem to think is is their job to let me know they don't like him. Now, if someone starts to rave about Justin Timberlake or someone else I don't care for, I wouldn't dream of raining on their parade. Wouldn't ever say anything negative--that's just me. Guess I am just a little thin skinned--can't help it. Get very hurt and take it personally when anything negative is said about Clay.

Speaking of obsessions--do you think a person is obsessed when they watch, let's say Jimmy Kimmel (when a certain cute singer guy is on) at 12:05 and tape it, then get up again and watch it at 3:05 even though they already have it on tape once. (This was when we used to have a satellite dish and got east and west coast shows.) God--I used to get soooo tired, but couldn't help it.

I don't think Clay has anyone special in his life right now. I think he's too busy, too involved in too many other things. His time will come - probably when he least expects it. However, I also do not think he is wanting for female companionship, if you know what I mean.

This made me think CG...as you always do. Of course we do not know anything about his personal life, but I really think that if he waits for a quiet time in his life to work on a relationship...he may have to wait for a long time. My impression with Clay....if he likes someone, he probably will make time to spend with that someone and that we would never know about it. So FOR ME I wouldn't say his level of activity would be any clue to his personal life.

No one has given me a hard time about my Clay hobby. Of course, there are still a lot of people in my real life who don't know about it. Its not that I lie to them, but if the subject doesn't come up, I don't bring it up. If it comes up, then that's one thing, but I just don't mention it out of the blue. As for those who know, well, I don't think anyone gets it, but they don't give me a hard time about it either.

Of course, I think one reason those that know don't give me a hard time about it is I don't try to foist my obsession on others. If they say they don't like Clay, I say that's cool. If they say Clay is gay, I say he may be - he says he's not and my gut tells me he's not - but who really knows and who cares. If they say they don't like his music, voice etc, I say that's cool - to each their own. I don't get defensive about him. I don't try to Clayvert anyone. Different strokes for different folks. I think when I don't react to what they say, they just accept I like someone they don't get.

Yup that is how I am too. But luckily, I haven't encountered anyone that really didn't like him enough to put him down with me. I do have a colleague in school that really thinks he is gay...but that is not a put down since she does not think there is anything wrong with that. But her gaydar tells her he is and I do not argue with her...just tell her that he says he is not and from my observations...I think he is totally straight...so we agree to disagree. It was thrilling to discover my cousins in CA and Florida loved him in AI and like to hear about whats happening to him. But mostly, the people that I know are mostly neutral on him

Of course, I don't have a husband or a child to explain it to - or who may feel at times as if they are in competition with Clay. I do think that is why some get upset - they feel as if Clay is getting more attention than they are.

And with some people, it could be true!

Yup the only one that really has a problem with Clay is my second DD. And she totally admits its because of the time I spend on my hobby. I have made lots of efforts to have a balance right now...that is why I don't get to post as often...so she does not complain too much anymore. But I also don;t talk to her about my hobby too much. When I am with them, the topic is their friends and what they are concerned with. They also may tease me a bit...but they won;t dare be mean or cruel cos that would be disrespecting me.

I remember when the AI5 appearance happened and he was the talk of the school...my daughters were appalled that a lot of their friends were swooning over him. Its like their moms world was invading theirs...Hee...so they were pretty happy when that madness died down....

The one I share the Clay love with is my Cait...she still loves watching ICHM...and the AI5 appearance. She also reacts appropriately when gorgeous pictures of Clay are up on the screen....but I started teaching her to call him Clay...cos daddy was getting a bit embarrassing... :cryingwlaughter:
