  1. Here's hoping they show the National Anthem on Sunday!
  2. I'm here ldyj, just trying to keep my head above water. I'm back at work and Mom is comfortably staying in the rehab wing of the same hospital she had her surgery in. I'm just trying to catch up on life this week.
  3. Thanks for all the good wishes. She had her surgery late yesterday and came through fine. They decided to give her a whole new hip. So hopefully, in the long run, this will all be for the best. She has been having a lot of mobility issues the past 6 months.
  4. Had to make an emergency run to Toronto Wednesday night because I got a call that my mom had fallen at her choir practice. She couldn't get up so they called for an ambulance. Turns out she broke her hip. So we are still here, waiting for them to find her a slot in the operating room to get it repaired. She keeps getting bumped by emergencies. Anyways, no internet or computer here, just this teensy little screen on my BB so I can't surf much. Glad to hear about the Today show gig! Hope to be home before CA on Sunday, if only for a few days. I may need to take either a couple of weeks holidays from work or a leave of absence while we get her back on her feet.
  5. Hmmm, definitely not my cuppa. But I do want Clay's song.
  6. Ha ha, when I missed the #classyclaymoment, I had to rewind immediately. BWAH! And that was SO worth a $10 donation to NIP. My PVR cut off the end of next week's preview, what did Arsenio say about Clay at the end?
  7. Wheeee, only 2 weeks to Crystal Light? Awesome. I'm enjoying this show so much.
  8. I've had a lot of NJU's commenting to me on the show lately (mostly at work) and they all say either "Clay's not in it much" or "Clay's really flying under the radar so far". I didn't follow the goings on when it was taping as closely as some, but I would think he was probably project manager for the Crystal Lite campaign because he was pushing for donations but couldn't guarantee that they would go to NIP (at least that's how I remember it). No idea how far into this thing that will be though. I never listened to any of George's comments about Clay after he was fired - were they nasty? I like George and feel bad that his charity didn't get any $$, but to be totally honest, his voice was driving me nuts. I mean, seriously, does he always speak as though everything is a voice over? I mean in his real life? It must take him forever to have a conversation.
  9. Ok I caved and watched the whole thing. I wonder what Clay's part of the presentation will be?
  10. Ok I started watching that clip but it's like 10 minutes long! If I watch that I will have seen a good chunk of the episode!
  11. Maybe because he's going to lose his shit on the next episode? At least, that's how he made it sound in the interview....
  12. You know, I am shocked because I just finally listened to the Clay/Lisa/Donald Jr. interview and it was great!
  13. I just finished rewatching last week's episode of CA....nice to be able to fast forward through the women. I am glad that this week won't be the Victoria-Lisa show. I can't stand either one of them. I hope we'll get to see more of the men's team than the women's this time, and judging by what I've read about who goes to the boardroom, I think we might. It's weird because our Canadian network, Global, shows the episode from last week on the subsequent Saturday night. So co-workers, friends and relatives will speak to me about it as though it's new and I have to remember that they haven't seen the current episode yet and not spoil anything for them.
  14. Cute clip. So last night my mom called me to say that her brother had been taken by ambulance to the hospital. He lives up in Sudbury, which is about 5 hours north of Mom, in Toronto. Apparently he was having a lot of pain in his head, and it was determined that he had some bleeding in his brain, but no doctor had yet spoken to him about what could be causing it or what they were going to do about it. So I told Mom to stay put, and wait until we heard how serious this was. If she wanted to go up there, I would hit the road (about a 2.5 hour drive) and pick her up and take her. She agreed to stay put and call me as soon as she heard anything. About an hour later I got a call from a friend of hers, saying she wanted to find out how my uncle was doing but my mom wasn't answering her phone. I thought that was odd, given that she was so worried and was waiting for a call from the hospital. So I called her and again, no answer. I waited a bit but still no answer. WTF? So then I started to panic. I called a couple of her neighbours and determined her car was still in her driveway. Finally, I had one of the neighbours go over but she didn't answer the door, so I authorized them to go into the house with the spare key. I was sure they were going to say they'd found her on the floor, she'd fallen or something worse. But she just wasn't home. OMG. As it turns out, she decided to go to a meeting with a friend of hers (who picked her up). She called me at 10:30 or so and was quite amused to hear all the commotion that had gone on. She said "I'm surprised you didn't call the police" and "at least someone cares if I die". So we still haven't heard any more word from the hospital, but my uncle was apparently sitting up in bed eating his dinner last night so it doesn't sound too bad.
  15. Ok, NOW it makes sense! I do not follow Lisa Lampanelli (can't stand her) so Clay's tweet seemed so out of the blue to me! I mean, he used the word vagina! Good for him. I don't care that "the gays" (hate that terminology too) think she's funny. I think she's crass and disgusting.
  16. I enjoy the show but can tune it out when the drama and bickering between the women starts. I can't stand Lisa Lampenelli (regardless of how well Clay seems to get along with her). I enjoy following Clay's tweets during the show. It's fun. I never stay up past 10 but I don't have any problem staying awake until 11 during CA.
  17. OK, Clay's blog on the NBC site is classic. He uses "stir the turd", but my favourite part is this: Thank you Clay! I always get annoyed when things are written to assume all men see things one way and all women see things another. The drama of the show gets old pretty quick, and Trump is an ass for sure, but as long as I have a horse in the race, there is no way I can stop watching.
  18. Did Clay say Victoria is prettier than Aubrey????? He really doesn't like Aubrey, does he?
  19. Oh wow, I hope he's singing! My daughter was asked to work a close tonight but declined with the excuse that she was not available to work close on Sunday nights any more.
  20. So I take it he didn't show up at Kelly's concert in Atlanta last night?
  21. Of course it's not available in Canada. You'd think I'd learn.
  22. I got this one on my phone last night too. However the picture doesn't want to work anymore. It was chocolate cake I think.
  23. I never saw anything about his hair on Twitter. But I don't really go searching, I just follow Clay and a few fans I know personally. I know there were a few comments made in my living room (but not by me ).
  24. God, I LMAO at Clay's tweets during the show last night. But for some reason, they stopped coming to my phone about the halfway mark. I figured he'd stopped texting. I guess not, so thanks for bringing them all over. I hate the Twitter is so spotty sometimes. Next time I will keep the app up on the computer. I didn't go online at all last night during the show because it would have taken my attention off the screen. I had a couple of friends over for the premiere. And then I watched it a second time when they left. couchie, I agree about Cheryl Tiegs. She didn't really seem all there. Not really impressed with anyone on the women's team so far. So yesterday, I noticed that Ringo's bandage was getting a bit smelly, and I don't have another vet appt until tomorrow (because today is a statuatory holiday). So I called a friend who has had many pugs and is comfortable with changing bandages, and we did it ourselves. So glad we did too because it wasn't good. A whole week is a long time to leave a bandage intact. So he's all clean now and it looks ok. Not infected at least. He is so tired of this whole ordeal and he is getting less patient with it every day. He wants the cone off so bad so he can lick that paw!!! So tonight is the Carnegie Hall thing? Wow, so many days of Clay this week.
