  1. Wow, you guys who got mezzanine were sure patient. I just panicked and grabbed what I could get, even though what I really wanted was row A. Still, I am sure they'll be fine, I've sat in a lot worse!
  2. Do you not have an OFC membership? You can rewatch the entire chat there. It's only $9.99 for the year. We tried for mezzanine but nothing was coming up so we grabbed orchestra seats instead. I am sure the view will be good from anywhere. I plan to bring binoculars in case there are no screens, because I hate not being able to see facial expressions.
  3. We got tickets in row K and row L so we are good to go.
  4. I also get the feeling that there might not be very many stops on the "tour", but I"m more concerned that the dates are going to get announced willy-nilly. The PA concert already goes on sale on the 21st, and if nothing else is confirmed by then, I'll buy tickets. And then later if something closer gets announced, I'll buy more tickets. And our weather in December is so unpredictable that there is no saying whether or not I'll be able to make the 8 hour drive or whatever it is. But hey, it's all good, I'm not complaining, I'd rather have these types of problems than no tour dates at all!
  5. I totally love the chats....we get to see a different Clay then the on-stage persona. He really lets loose, and when others were calling him mean, I was thinking "you go Clay!" I tend to grin/snort/laugh out loud 99\% of the time. I was thrilled when he called Judy in Toronto at the end, as I know her from the Toronto cluncheons and she is a sweetheart. I don't know why, but when he asked that last question about who he was mistaken for, I couldn't think of anything to type. I am so happy I am planning to go to the Gala this year as it sounds ike it's going to be great. Now, to get tickets.....my daughter was going to help with that, as I am in training all this week from 9-5 at work, but sadly my BIL passed away yesterday, so the kids are all heading up their dad's place today for the funeral. However, we are online during the training, so I am hoping to be able to keep an eye on the boards and buy tickets myself. I know last time the time was supposed to be noon but ended up going on sale at 10, which is why I'm kind of worried.
  6. I took that video and burned it to a CD. My daughter was in Quebec on a student exchange that summer, and she was so upset that she would have to miss the AI2 tour. She forbade me to go without her, but after that video, how could I not? I am not sure she has ever really forgiven me. LOL. I grew up without A/C too. When I was 9 my parents had an in-ground pool put in the backyard. So after that, if you were hot, you jumped in the pool. Didn't matter what time, I remember hearing my dad jump in in the middle of the night quite often (since my room was at the back of the house and obviously, my windows were open in the heat). I did the same thing on occasion. Looking forward to Tuesday, and I probably will just avoid the boards (except here!) afterwards.
  7. I had a wedding to attend yesterday, and when I left it was 30 C with a humidex of 40 C. When I got home it was much, much cooler, and going down to 19 C over night. So I turned off the a/c before bed. Thank god, it's been a few weeks since I've been able to do that. I hate a/c in the summer, and only use it when necessary. I have to sit in it all day at work, so I'd much rather not have to at home.
  8. The Shippenburg, PA page is up for Clay's first official Joyful Noise Tour 2012 concert! http://www.luhrscenter.com/page.cfm?pag=13&evt=e0e5ccbd-5465-45c8-be65-82476690a32a Nice picture
  9. Yay for a firm date on the PA concert. Please let there be more dates announced before they go on sale. I also hope that Clay is going to tell us something about it in the chat on Tuesday.
  10. Yay, a video chat when I am actually going to be home!
  11. We had a very brief little thunderstorm today, and back to extreme heat for the rest of the week. Crazy weather, and hard on the gardens. I had my houseguest until 7:30 am this morning when her dad picked her up. Apparently the little 2 year old brother is doing better but they aren't releasing him yet. He needs to get stronger and keep some food down first. They put it down to a weakened immune system due to a low red blood cell count, and a nasty viral infection. They said he needs to eat more fruit, veggies & protein and less milk. I remember my son being that age, and he was also very hooked on milk. It's difficult when they are so picky.
  12. Oops, sorry about that keepingfaith, thank you! Right after my mom left last evening, the next door neighbours asked me to watch their 11 year old daughter for the night, because their 2 year old son was taken to hospital yesterday. The poor little guy has been sick for a week, with vomitting, diarrhea, thrush and stomach pain. He's dropped from 18 kg to 13 kg (more than 10 pounds!) and they took him to emerg twice, but they kept sending him back home. I hope this time they can do something for him. Anyways, last night was the big Canada Day celebration, and there were fireworks not only in the park, but in many backyards as well. I went out and bought a Thundershirt for my daughter's dog in the hopes that it would help calm her down. But it's so hot out that she was overheated and wouldn't keep the thing on. She barked from about 9 pm until I don't even know what time...well after midnight. And of course the dogs were all up at 5:30 am today. Angela, my visitor, is loving all the activity! Ha ha. But she is worried about her brother. I'm hoping to have a quieter day today.
  13. Hi all, Happy Canada Day! I had a great day yesterday. My mom drove out for the weekend (first time since her fall in March). My older son (Ian) called us in the morning to see what we were up to, so we picked him up on our way down to the farmer's market and he ended up spending the whole day with us. I was able to drop them off at street level and park the car in the underground, while Ian helped Mom. Mom is getting around pretty well with her cane. She seems to have pulled a muscle or aggravated a tendon in her upper leg recently that gives her some pain, so she doesn't want to go far. But she doesn't let that hold her down...have car, will travel. LOL. She is an avid baseball fan so the two of them watched the Blue Jays vs Angels game in the afternoon, while I puttered around the kitchen, getting things ready for a BBQ. She is going to come back out again for the August civic holiday weekend and hopefully catch one or two of Ian's own baseball games. Thanks for that link ldyj! It's amazing, isn't it, how much Dhani sounds and looks like his father. I could hear it immediately, and the pictures confirmed it. The style of music isn't really my cup of tea, but I think it's awesome that he is going for it and that he has found his thing. I am going to turn my younger son onto this site and see what he thinks. He loves the Beatles so I think he might really like this. The music sounds right up his alley.
  14. Happy Birthday FearofH20! Hope you had a great day (sounds like you did!)
  15. Yay for Christmas tour! Yay for my boss allowing me to keep a few "floating" vacation days for emergencies (like perhaps driving to Pennsylvania!) Now let's hope we get a full list and don't just have to guess as random dates pop up. But this sounds like it might be another Not-A-Tour, with dates being announced as they are booked.
  16. Ewwww, don't say the "W" word! Give me summer anytime!
  17. Cute kids, couchie! And it will be so nice to see you at gala this year!
  18. I know! I have twice gone over and read the last few posts to see if it's stopped yet, but apparently it's just going to be an underlying theme going forward. That's my favourite kind of day. I feel so lucky when weekends like these come up for me. I'm having one right now too. However I'm not being as productive as you....I've discovered a new (to me) TV series called The Big C. Our "W Network" started airing the first season, but I quickly realized that it was being cut down for time, and censored for language/content to boot. Ugh. So I've downloaded the season in it's entirety and am enjoying it immensely. Today I might get my front garden planted with annuals (finally!) and maybe get a haircut.
  19. Nice pictures, ldyj. I found yesterday horrible. It's days like yesterday that drive me farther and farther away from this fandom. Not from Clay, please let me make that clear. Love him to pieces, same as always. I just felt so embarrassed, and so bad for him yesterday, being put into the position he was by his so-called "fans". I am glad he stood his ground, but it was not in the least entertaining to me. I have nothing against Arsenio, but I am almost dreading the reception he will get at the Gala. I hope that people will at worst be polite and at best get over themselves and support Clay's friend in the way that he would like them to. I also hope that if Clay quits Twitter, those who were responsible will feel badly. However, I know better than that. Today is a gorgeous, sunny day. The sweltering heat and humidity have finally broken, and we are actually having a nice, summer's day. I've been to the farmer's market already, and am planning to head to the International Food Festival in the park downtown later this afternoon. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
  20. This may be the first time I wish I didn't have Clay's tweets delivered to my phone. Not because I disagree with him. Because I am so embarrassed that fans are causing him to have to defend his friend. Seriously, get a life, people.
  21. Hee, I can't wait for the day that Stuart decides to 'leave the nest'. Somehow, I don't think it will be any time soon. But I figure getting him past his fear of driving is one step in the right direction. He turns 21 next month. Ian (the older one) has been out on his own a few years already. His dream is to become a police officer so I am really crossing my fingers for him that this all works out. He has put his heart and soul into getting himself ready for this day. Woo hoo! Love the article and the tweets! You go Clay! Look what happens when I go to bed early...I miss all the good stuff. I still haven't given up hope on the Xmas tour, so the article makes me v.v. happy. wandacleo, so happy to see you over here again! I really can't stomach the angst out there. I have better things to do with my life than get worked up over stupid shit that doesn't matter.
  22. I quite often make recipes from SkinnyTaste.com. They are usually really flavourful. liney23, good luck to your grandson! My son got another call today, so it appears he passed the interview process. Now, he is heading to a psychological evaluation. Crossing my fingers that all goes well for him! My younger son, who some of you have met, finally went and got his written (learner's) driver's licence today. So next up, I'll start taking him out in parking lots to let him get a feel for it. My mom has offered to pay for Driver's Education. This is a big step for him, as he has a fear of driving. But I think it will help build his self-confidence and also set him on the path to independence. So it's been a good day, all around.
  23. Well, none of them will be as far back as those of us in the 'cheap' seats. Sorry you didn't have a good time buying tickets this morning FearofH20 but I am looking forward to seeing you in DC!
  24. Liney23, thanks for your well wishes. My son's interview with the police service was yesterday and he said it was a very intense 2.5 hours. A lot of personal questions about past relationships, etc. But he has nothing to hide, so he thinks it went well. He should hear soon, as they are hiring for the September class. Sorry to hear about your colitis....runs rampant in our family as well. I do not have colitis but I have IBS and have had to drastically change my diet because of it as well. Unfortunately, the solution seems to come with a lot of carbs so losing weight has become quite a challenge. I have to find that fine line between eating the right things in the right quantities and not eating too many calories. jmh123, sorry to hear of your hard drive troubles. I am always a big supporter of regular back ups. In fact, I sometimes back up my back ups!
  25. Wow, some of the angst, upset and downright anger in the fandom right now is insane. Seriously, it's Twitter! It's supposed to be fun! LOL
