  1. Eeeeee! MUAH! Thanks goodness you're here. :thbighug-1: I'm grinding up some -- do you prefer Jamaican Blue Mountain or Texas Pecan? Now if only I can figure out how to work this thing -- it's a supposed to be a self-tamping expresso maker. (Yes i'm only just now exploring the world of small home gadgets. Such wonders! Will also be needing advice with an iced tea maker -- *mystified* didn't know we needed anything more than a pitcher and sunlight)
  2. 1 User(s) are browsing this forum (0 Guests and 0 Anonymous Users).....I'm all alone *sniff*
  3. I'm also enjoying the mystery right now but I get a different vibe about the secrecy surrounding the identity of the producer. The tone I get from the blogs and interviews where he talks about the British producer is one of controlled excitement, like it's something that he knows will make the fandom v. v. happy and he's eager to tell us but will not release it until just the right moment. (that entire last part was solely for Muski's & my enjoyment)
  4. You're right. To lighten things up a bit, this is my Top 3 "look at the bright side" take at being mentioned in a swamp: 1. At least it was flattering. From what I hear, the point made was something to the effect of: the quality is really good so it's probably Scarlett's 2. Maybe it'll bump up my street cred. 3. Does this give me an excuse to "investigate matters in order to protect my name"?
  5. Thanks! (& thanks for mailing my hat -- I'm glad to have a purple hat this weekend) :F_05BL17blowkiss: MUAH jj & Ansa too. Just to clarify, I was able to post it back after a modification. I guess folks are being v. vigilant. Lots of hugs to you, Gibby!!! Sending virtual massages and water/bubble therapy. I'm glad that's over. Claygasm, No, I wasn't there and have never been. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww! Someone just PM'ed me about it. Heard later that it was a comment that mentioned me, not the original post. ETA: Yes, that's right Ansa. I have never been there.
  6. A very simple post that I attempted to make last Saturday was initially trouted over there. That was very confusing. (eta: no, I didn't take any) I posted it because someone had PM'ed me that there was a clip out there that was being attributed to me. What's the matter with this?:
  7. There's one I missed. I thought she went away simply because of management change. I thought she was behind the unauthorized leaking of the TITN video and thus persona non grata, or is that fan mythology? If that was what happened, I'm surprised Clay Nation hasn't taken up a collection for her. KeepingFaith, Solo has an Asian Texan accent. Surely that counts.
  8. I have very good memories of Interlochen. I was way back in Row R and the people in front of me were giants. I'd have had to stand the entire time to see anything. However I also had a group of excited little girls, about 10 years old or so, behind me so I didn't want to stand and block their view. A very nice couple from Calgary next to me noticed this and suggested that the husband swap seats with me since he was rather tall. I ended up sitting between them throughout the concert. Later on, their niceness was rewarded, not with the husband getting picked as a PIP like I'd hoped, but with the guy diagonally in front of us getting picked. This meant that both the wife and I got to stand and stare at someone's green eyes for a looooong time -- our closest ever at that time. And we didn't have to look away since he was talking/interviewing the PIP and so she and I just stood there "paying attention" and drinking everything in. *hugs memories*
  9. *Hugs that article v. tightly and won't let go!* My team at work played a version of Patsy's quiz last week (I  Patsy). I confounded everyone with "I was in Times Square when the Giants won the Superbowl!!!"
  10. I can't actually see these pics on my work computer, so I'll just sigh and appreciate the captions... bc, he seems to be screwing it.... and is having a hard time... I hope this helps... luckiest1, sending you a virtual "Cuddle up with Clay" blanket... :F_05BL17blowkiss: Kareneh, thanks for the gorgeous pics. I loved the LA concert!!!
  11. Hmmm....I've given that some thought...and wait! I believe I've even written about some of those ideas.... I tell you what. Clay Aiken has done more to stimulate (takes a moment) the U.S. economy than any other single human being during the last five years. I'm checking out this airfare and that hotel rate and checking to see how much it costs by taxi between Point A and Point B. But it's worth it....'coss *ignoring the tongue visuals...ignoring...ignoring* He definitely deserves a sizeable check from Canon (for S3 & S5 sales) and Apple (for the iphone/touch). And he's stimulating the world economy as well -- I'm currently holding an 8 GB Nokia N95 that's not normally sold in the US.
  12. Gibby, thanks for bringing the pretty pic over! I think that back then he was concerned about how he defined himself. Also, people weren't aware of his acting capabilities and so there could have been fixations (eg. like some people who only see him this year could come away with "Clay-is-really-Sir-Robin" frames of mind). It was his first video so it's understandable that he was cautious. I think he looks searingly hot on it - but the song definitely doesn't mesh with the visuals. It's understandable that he wouldn't want something that doesn't seem to make sense to be the "first Clay Aiken video" -- years from now when they honor him for his body of work, it would be good to have as few "why-is-that-there?" items as possible. A weaker but structurally right video is acceptable as your very first. MHO, I wish he had replaced it with something just as good but more cohesive. I think it would be so interesting for 2008 Clay to have a chat with 2004 Clay (I caught the Sarah Connor pilot.what). ETA: LOL, Muski! *screams silently at the visual that is now stuck in my head*
  13. Lotus, from what we heard it was Clay who personally withdrew the release of this video, so it was not hosted because it was a matter of respect for him and his decisions regarding his own work. *'cause, you know, we have that in spades* No idea how he feels about that video now. Like how would you feel if you drew a picture or wrote a story that you decided not to publish... that sort of thing. Then again, it's been a few years. He might or might not have changed his mind about it --- M&G question?
  14. From what I recall TITN was one item that the vaults stayed away from as a policy. It was probably just an omission that this was not passed on to new vault-keepers since it's been a long time since then. (scenario: new vault person gets asked for TITN video, notices it's not on CU and then puts it up. My favorite "whores" are at Columbus this weekend -- I'm so jealous of the fun they must be having -- so it'll probably be Monday before we get a straight *giggles*, sober *giggles even more* answer)
  15. Can't believe I'm still the only one awake from the eHP Partay and Clay Marathon last night?!!! We had a niiiiice dinner/send-off for Kareneh (who actually made it) although we plan to see her again in April! We went through KAndre's Clayversion disks that she'd planned to send to Australia (if KeepingFaith hasn't stolen them yet). Could not ask for a more perfect night when I really needed it. To Love Somebody is truly awesome!!! (now if only "Clay Marathon" were to mean something else entirely...) {{{FromClaygary and playbiller}}}} It was so much fun to read about you and your friend's adventures, CG!
  16. Some folks asked about concert clips I make, pls. scroll if you don't think this is relevant: I have a very unique way of rendering my clips. I modified the program that I use, and I haven't shared it with anyone (with apologies to those who asked me for assistance/copies in the past). I wanted to be sure I could always tell whether or not a clip is mine, not that I've uploaded anything since the View cap last month. I'm usually very helpful on all other techie issues and and would love to consult/offer opinions & advice. Thanks!
  17. Well even 2 minutes, when multiplied 8x per week over 4 months will add up. And the Service Level Agreement probably allows for, say 1 or 2 malfunctions a month -- "Oh, my, it's stuck. I don't know how that happened." No one expects perfection except from Clay. I think there was a day when it took him a long time to get back from Brother Maynard to Robin. Same thing, just more convenient if it had happened later. KAndre, lifter seems willing to drive but we probably need a base that's closer to the airport for those 5:30 am flights. Also, the "lift" part is relative because you know my type could never lift anything more than a small child.
  18. You know we always party whether or not the celebrant shows up... or is even aware of it! Our 2006 Pre-concert lunch was a blast especially since there wasn't a concert that night so we got to hang around for about 5 hours. Also, the front-and-center view is still a Clay Aiken special despite this being a Broadway show. Have fun & thanks for the gorgeous LA pictures! I'm the one who might not show since I need to finally decide on and sign a new apartment this Saturday (after dyeing yarn for the Striped Sock Sirens). I'm down to 3 choices: 1. very close to KAndre and the iGallop, one of our offices, a hop & skip away from Montrose and my primary care physician 2. very close to the airport (for last-minute flights) and our other office, has attached garages and is close to the house of an officemate who's helpful and can lift things 3. far away from everything but my new address will read Clay Road
  19. Ok, works for me. On the bright side... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ning2-3-087.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...g2-3-0811-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ning2-3-086.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ng2-3-085-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ning2-3-084.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ning2-3-082.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ning2-3-081.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...nee2-2-0815.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...inee2-2-087.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...nee2-2-0812.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...nee2-2-0811.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...inee2-2-089.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...nee2-2-0816.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...inee2-2-085.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ot/IMG_7517.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ot/IMG_7516.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ot/IMG_7514.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ot/IMG_7513.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/ton...ot/IMG_7511.jpg All the pictures can be found here: http://toni7babe.smugmug.com/gallery/4289778#251387482
  20. So are we just sticking to the re-caps from the first weekend? How many tours did we have where the first night was the same as the last night? Oh, and my roomkey-holding policy has evolved as well. Sunday afternoon, I had keys to 2 different rooms on 2 different floors and people gave them to me willingly.
  21. I so wish I had been able to do Clack last Sunday. Aaaaaargh! It really was a long, long, looooong way from the first 2 nights of Spamalot. Not.the.same.thing. Opening night, yes he was counting-in-his-head. And the ironic thing about this was... the guy sitting next to me on Sunday night attempted (ha!) to get some Clack! *chortles* You all know I have a very strong opinion about Spamalot Clack given all the multiple, firm, commanding requests from the cute guy but I didn't go call security like that killjoy Dad did at Waukegan last December (yes, I'm bitter, but not that bitter). But I sort of stared over his shoulder in fascination. Of course he got shut down big time -- not posting the details, because I don't want to give security advice -- but I just wanted to emphasize that people are dead serious about this. And the silly thing was it really wasn't very good clack -- our AI2 concert tour Clack was way better. Grrrr! I can't wait for the next tour to be able to say I-told-you-so. *wails at not being able to record the dismount from the imaginary horse before the taunter scene* (Those with seats on the left side, ie. stage right, might want to watch for this) BTW, all this talk about Terrence Mann reminds me that I used to know people who went to see him as Javert over 50 times. Makes me feel undedicated. Hmmmm, you all make me want to take another look just to make sure I'm remembering it right.
  22. So let's not call it dancing. It's utterly fascinating to watch Clay Aiken move these days. Just like his singing which isn't easy to put into a box, there's something about whatever he's doing that draws people. He's "moving" right next to Patsy who's a marvelous dancer (and I  Patsy btw) but I don't think that many people are transfixed at what Patsy's doing. Like most things about Clay, this is a get it or don't get it thing. I know I'm not the only one but if you have a set idea of what "dancing" should be like, it's not an easy thing to recognize. Remember what it was like to hear him singing and to just listen to him without thinking of musical genres or careers or stuff? And the funny thing is, it seems to hit the NJU's more than "us". Maybe because we're so used to talking about how it's "all about the voice". One marker: the more the audience reacts to the "Fanny Brice" part the more enthusiastic the response to his "way of moving". During the nights when the Clay Nation effect is more limited, it's a joy to see such enthusiasm for him still -- Clay's fans will clap at anything he does but the NJU's? What did Clay do that was so wonderful? He doesn't sing all that much.
  23. It's not that at all! He now makes his part of the "Find Your Grail" dance rather sensual actually. I don't know how to put it any better. Totally different from watching Gregory Hines whom I wouldn't do multiples of, btw. If Clay danced like Gregory Hines or Michael Jackson, I wouldn't feel compelled to see him this many times. How often do you fly to another state to see these "great dancers"? So no, he hasn't turned into MJ or Timberlake, thank goodness. He turned the Grail dance into the latest Clay Aiken move, and if you're really not planning to see this until April, well, *sigh*.... Oh, and to those who are planning NYC weekends of "oh, let's see. I'll go to Spamalot once and then then next day I'll go do this/that" -- people I talked to last weekend who went to another show on Sunday ended up wanting to leave thier show at intermission to run back to catch the Russian dance.
  24. As someone said, that might just be why Clay doesn't mention this a lot. Or maybe because he knows the enthusiastic people would jump on it. I think the article could have just been edited in a misleading way. If Clay hadn't been treated well at that production we probably would have heard about it by now from Mr. "My-high-school-teacher-cut-me-from-our-musical". Terrence Mann isn't my over-all-favorite but I think he's very talented. His "Stars" is my 2nd favorite version. I wonder if Jerome sings and what he would sound like with... "There out in the darkness, a camera flashes, white-hot and searing, burning Clay's eyes... <snip> Lord let me find him that I may see him safe behind bars. I will never rest 'til then. This I swear by the stars." Speaking of eyes... 00lsee, thanks for the pretties! And hi to everyone at dinner last night who didn't mind that I was still wearing the same sweater that I had on when he signed my poster Sunday night (sorry, came straight from work/flight-out-of-NYC)
  25. Part of that report came from me, at least I was the one who told Invis that she was on Row M during the first half and got moved to Row C. Based on hearsay of course. Remember, I'm the one who once got an autograph and turned it around and around for 15 minutes before realizing it was by Kobe Bryant. Oh, if no one mentioned it, right after the show, she and her 2 companions went straight backstage (from her seat in the audience). -->again hearsay. Sometime, it'll help if the eHP travels with me so that you can notice & report on famous people and what they do. *g*
