  1. Sad to think that after today there will be no more Spamalot on Broadway! Makes me sad. Yet, it is really hard to stay sad when thinking of Spamalot because just thinking of it makes me laugh!
  2. Deleted because after reading 00lsee's and Muski's posts I am done flailing at windmills. I want to be on their higher road - even when they disagree with me!
  3. Are you asking me to leave this board? Sorry you didn't find anything funny in my post. I was TRYING to make it a bit lighter by the use of emotions, but I guess that didn't work. But frankly, all I did was express my opinion about the way Clay looked. I thought that was allowed. You know, I made a very heartfelt and nice post after Spamalot ended and I think maybe only one person commented. I am not sure most here even read it. But I dare say something critical and everyone is right there! Contrary to what you and others may think, I do not post to get comments - positive or negative. But it seems most here lay in wait for me to post something they perceive as negative and then they pounce! It is almost s if they are encouraging me! Then I get accused of being too negative. While I am sure that isn't a conscious decision on anyone's part, that is the way it appears. There has been a double standard held when it comes to me and this board for ages - even though those in charge don't seem to see it. Others have and do. I certainly do. For example, people are allowed to attack me personally and get away with it, even though that is one of the no-no's on this board. Example: That is a personal attack, and not the first one. Bet no one will tell her she is out of line! And speaking of nasty.... Nah. I won't sink to your level, cindilu. Oh, I do have people in my life who are as honest with me as I have been ABOUT Clay. Not WITH him because I do not exist in his real world, anymore than you do. And you know what? I appreciate it when they are honest with me. It is amazing what one can learn when being honest! As to being kind - nothing I said was unkind. It was just my honest opinion. And it happened to find fault with Clay. I love him as much as anyone here. I just don't see people I love with blinders on. Why does this bother you so much? Oh come on. Why not join the bash-fest? But I will answer y our question. It bothers me because I hate it when I see someone I care about made a joke of. And I don't think for one moment it doesn't bother Clay. He is human and most people who are constantly made a joke of are bothered by it no matter what they say. And in Clay's case I honestly believe the fact he is often a joke, known more for that than his talent, has hurt his career - his Broadway turn aside. That has been the first and only thing he has done in his professional life where overall he has been treated with respect. I care because I care about Clay and his career and I think many of these jokes could be stopped if he made small changes - not life altering ones. Like being more conscious about his appearance. You know, this is his job and most who want to be successful wouldn't go on a job interview or a work-related function looking like a slob. Its the same principle here, IMO. Look, I am not telling Clay what to do. I don't have his ear - nor should I. Who am I to him? Who are any of us to him? He will do what he wants to do for better or for worse. But that doesn't stop me from caring or wishing he would do something different and I should be allowed to express those feelings here. P.S. The reference to Ace was snark because I was being kidded about how hot I thought he was a few days ago. It is not a competition. I thought Ace was fabulous in Grease, looks pheneomenal in tight jeans and has arms to die for, but overall, he's no Clay Aiken.
  4. So do you all think it is normal for a man to wear that much make-up in his off time? Or is it just ok because the perfect Clay apparently does it?? IMO there is NO excuse to not get that make-up off before going out on the town. I have worn stage make-up and it is harder to get off than most street make-up, but truly, unless you're in a show like Lion King or Shrek or Cats, it doesn't take that much tome or effort to do! But if you like his make-up so he looks like (IMO) a transsexual and don't mind him looking like (IMO) a woman (he is GAY, after all, not transgender - as far as we know!), then enjoy. I don't. I think it is weird. I think he looks awful. I think he looks like a clown. No wonder to so many he is such a joke! He is such a good looking guy and often looks like a good looking man. Sometimes he looks like a mess of a man, but still looks like a man. I just don't fnd anything appealing about a man who looks more like a woman than a man. I don't know. We all have our off days, but he was going to a party - held in his honor. He should have taken some pride in his appearance. JMO and all that. I hope Clay takes a VERY long hiatus. Months and months and months and months. Maybe then he will have enough time to take off all his make-up! Think I will go find more Ace pictures. At least he looks like a man! I don't love him like I love Clay but right now, he is much easier to drool over!
  5. Re the bolded....if it makes you feel any better...I just expect it now. And sadly, I have come to expect comments like this from you...... Ok, perhaps "upset" was not exactly the correct word to use. Perhaps I should have said I expected more comments... rather than expecting more people to be upset. Just a matter of semantics. Although people often seem to get upset by what I post, even though its just a differing opinion..... Everyone else managed to get their stage make-up off! If he didn't maybe I should send him a case of cold cream! Its not that hard to get off make-up!
  6. Gee, I thought more people would be upset over the fact I said Clay looked like a girl in that one picture than that I thought some (and I wasn't referring to anyone in particular - here or elsewhere so no one needs to be paranoid!) were getting a tad carried away and not necessarily respecting boundaries when it came to Reed and Clay! Looking at someone is one thing. Reed was standing with Nick outside the theater as we walked in and I made sure I took a good long look! But IMO approaching someone is wrong. If Clay were sitting in a restaurant and someone went up to him to say hi and chat, we would probably all be up in arms! It is just as wrong - and maybe more so - with Reed. Let's face it. None of us would give a hoot about Reed if news of his having some association with Clay hadn't leaked! He is not a star on Broadway, but even if he were, IMO a celebrity out on their own time should be allowed to enjoy their evening (or day or whatever) without being bothered. But whatever. I think its wrong to bug total strangers just because they know someone you lust over like! With some (again I am not referring to anyone specific here or elsewhere) I swear they are trying to feel closer to Clay - like perhaps they are part of his inner circle - or maybe trying to live vicariously through Reed. Of course, everyone can do whatever they want. I am not judging, just expressing my opinion, But I have to tell you, I am surprised just how in the miniority I am this time! As for the next step in Clay's career. When I make predicitions I am almost always wrong, but I am expecting a LONG silent spell. And I think it would be a good idea. Thing is, touring IMO would not be fiscally feasible any time soon. I do believe Clay needs to sit down with his advisors and figure out how to become less of a celebrity - known more for his hair, his coming out, his having a baby with his 50-year old producer, his odd clothes etc. - and more for his talents such as, you know, singing! And that may mean in some way, laying low for awhile and then re-emerging slowly and carefully. I KNOW most won't agree with me here, but I don't think a tour would serve any purpose in furthering his career. Might make some of "us" happy, but then inevitably when he didn't come near others, the bitching would begin again. So FOR ME and me alone, I would rather he skip touring any time soon and put some effort into revitalizing his career. Of course, if he tours, I am so there........
  7. He looks like such a girl in this picture!!!! Not to be a party pooper or anything, BUT isn't it possible that perhaps some are reading a wee bit too much into Reed changing the song on his MySpace?? I mean, it could just be he likes the song! Do most people have hidden meaning or cryptic messages behind their MySpace song choices? And doesn't it creep anyone out how people are stalking his MySpace? But then again, if people feel perfectly justified in going up to this poor guy and bugging him at Spamalot, then I guess nothing is too creepy. I wish people would just leave the guy alone. If I were him, I would be running for the hills!
  8. I'm home! I don't necessarily want to be but I am. Muski and I had a fun day in NY today before she headed off for business and me home. Must get to bed but first - anyone out there talented making avatars from video? See my one from Clay's last last show rooftop bow? And you know the clack we have from this last show rooftop bow? Can anyone make me an avie from the new one and can anyone make it so the old one sort or morphs into the new one??? It would be especially cool if the throwing kisses part from the new one was used since that's the part in my present avie! If anyone is so talented I would be eternally grateful!!! Now to bed since tomorrow its back to work. Oh joy.......
  9. I'm on a Mac and Safari and it looks OK for me. So does this mean we are back to it being just my computer?????? Possibly, but not necessarily. Depends on what version of Safari you have, what OS you have, and so on. All our techie people are otherwise occupied; a whole bunch of FCAers are away in NYC. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but the folks who are here just haven't got a clue how to solve your problem right now. Can you wait awhile? I used to run a small website for my job, and I would do the code on my laptop, and then get to work on my computer there, and it would be all wrong, things missing, things not visible, out of alignment, and so on. Or it would look fine in IE, and like crap in Netscape, on the same computer. And I would have to figure out how to code it so it would look good on every possible browser and version, which was a joke because I knew almost nothing about it. There is some weird disjunction between your computer and this site that just happened last night; that's all I know. There are Macs and PCs, there are different browsers, different versions of browsers, different upgrades to different versions of browsers, different settings for browsers, and the same again for operating systems. And I'm not a Mac person--dunno nuttin about 'em. If you really want to work with this yourself, get with ToldForThis by PM and ask her what version of the Mac OS she has, what version of Safari she has, what her settings are, and maybe you could find the problem. You can see emoticons and the whatchamacallem at the top of this box at CV and at getclayaiken, so it probably isn't your computer, but it could be, but I really just do not have a clue. I can wait. I won't even be around from tonight on. Heading to my mother's for dinner, tomorrow work and then New York to do something-or-other! I won't be home until late Monday, only to turn around and go to work again Tuesday! So there is no rush. I have no head for any of this so I will just wait for the techies to find the time to investigate.
  10. I'm on a Mac and Safari and it looks OK for me. So does this mean we are back to it being just my computer?????? Because they can???
  11. Ah ha! My guess is that the people who run the board (not us, the Invision people) made some change in the code that isn't recognized by Safari. They'll probably get complaints and fix it eventually. But yay that it's working in Firefox because now you know it isn't your computer. Yeah, that's a relief, but I have a question. Is CV an Invision board? What about getclayaiken.com? I went to both of them just to test and everything is normal over there - well, at least as far as emotions etc. go! Would Invision do something just to us that wouldn't apply to them??
  12. Ok, it works in Firefox. BUT, why doesn't it work in Safari??? It always has before. Is anyone else out there on a Mac in Safari? Is anyone else having trouble?
  13. I did toggle side panel, and this is what I got: I'll try another browser now. Just heard from muski and couchie. They have both arrived safely and they say ITS COLD!!!!!
  14. No hurry, Ldyj. Let me just post a dull Happy New Year to everyone here at FCA! Wonder if muski made it to her hotel yet???????
  15. Ok, seems everyone else has their bold buttons and colors and emotions etc. Why do I only get a box to write in????????????? How can I make a pretty Happy New Year without them? Is this a sign that I am destined to have a colorless, emotionless 2009??????
  16. Just watched it and it is wonderful! She is really so talented. Couchie, safe flight and I'll see you soon! Woo hoo! Ok, where did the emotions the bold button etc go???????
  17. I think she is likely in the air right now or at least on her way to airport. If she is delayed she does have her laptop with her. Otherwise she won't be around until sometime after midnight. If its an emergency, PM me and maybe I can leave a message on her cell.
  18. Muski - The wind is REALLY kicking up here. I went out to the bank and almost got blown off my feet! Things are flying all over the place. It was flurrying here but so far that's it. I do think its supposed to snow more north - which would be Newark/New York. Hope you have some good books in case you get delayed more or the plane gets diverted. If you get diverted to Philly call me. I'll come get you and you can take a train to NY tomorrow.
  19. Well you could always try the TKTS place for a cheap ticket - but that would require standing in line - OUTSIDE!!! Hey at least its a sunny 27 without the winds of Wednesday when they say it will be 16 and windy when the balls drops!!!!!
  20. Well, I just finally bought my train ticket to NY for Friday. I'll be getting in at the same time as my lurker friend and we'll be meeting up with muski and then let the fun begin!! Muski - NJ Transit runs from Newark airport to Penn station but not sure what the schedule will be New Year's Eve! And I bet a cab could get you to your hotel if all else fails. They know all sorts of circuitous routes! Ok, the latest forecast........ BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! So, since Ryan Seacrist is in NY do you think he'll catch a performance of Spamalot????
  21. For those planning to come east from warmer climates - pack the woolies!
  22. You can find codes for a lot of shows at Broadway Box. There are other websites with codes but they require registration so I usually just go here. annabear, I think Shrek is worth seeing if you're a Chris Sieber fan. Personally, I wouldn't pay full price for a ticket but there's a discount code that's good until the middle of January. KAndre and I are huge fans of the first two Shrek movies and they just didn't do a very good job of translating the movies' humor to the stage which contributed to our disappointment when we saw it. It was also the first week of previews so they may have made some changes to improve the show. Thanks Solo!!
  23. Ok, what is this Broadway Offers thing and how does it work? I googled it but you can't do anything without a code. Where do you find the codes? I ask not for Spamalot but for other shows I might want to see.
  24. So that's what I am doing wrong! I'm not watching a good, heart-warming Christmas movie like Die Hard! Is Blockbuster open on Christmas Day?? Well, its a Christmas miracle! I emailed Amazon with my tale of woe, not expecting a response until after Christmas but when I got up this morning, I had 2 responses from them. One was apologizing all over the place, understanding my "embarrassment" and saying they would refund my shipping charges and that I would be notified when the refund was processed. The other was saying the refund had been processed! Of course, they also said if I hadn't received the packages by the end of business on July 22, 2008 I should let them know! And Couchie, I am glad you are enjoying the CD and the bracelet. I think I may have to start wearing mine.... I miss Raleigh!!! And Durham!! I would love to see new pictures of Clay's first babies!
