Nice avatar laughn!!!
If you can, stream from your local Clear Channel station. Do a search from their homepage, and click on the link for Clay Aiken that comes up. There will be a box on his page for OMWH with the floor pic photo. Click on that, and a player will come up and play the song, after advertising Mariah Carey's video. Not my favorite site to listen from, as the song cuts off before it's over, and there's a "on demand" voice interrupting it a couple of times.
There are other Clay videos on his CC page, including the "Producers" and "Spamalot" webisodes.

I have a single CD with JBT favorites on it, and it contains only one song that Clay didn't sing lead on--Black Velvet. Why? The backing vocals he did. Amazing!!

ignore geographical stupidities..........

If the signed Playbills really are only $40, I'll definitely pick up a couple extra.
There seems to be some question as to whether Clay has signed those, so check and see--that might make a difference to some.

Welcome Freckles. Jump right in!!
-
And what does Clay have in store for us May 6th = a new album, but even more presents?????
I'm guessing she's just talking about the album. That's enough, isn't it?
-
Welcome, footloose. I hope you'll post more than news--be tempted by all the emoticons! Heh. Welcome, Iseeme. I'm so sorry for the loss of a great Clay friend--it must be like losing part of your family.

Saw THIS at the CH. Odd, isn't it?
HMMMMM very interesting....may mean something or not.... but verrrrrry interesting.
If you click on "Clay Aiken - On My Way Here" it will take you to a page with the QVC info....date, time, channel, etc. Sorry to say it's just the one appearance on QVC, and not a series.
This weekend will be my one and only trip to NYC to see Clay in Spamalot!!!! I'm so excited to be going and am just keeping fingers crossed that he will be performing on Saturday night because that's the only time I'll be going. Yeah....I know....I must be crazy, but I'll be with a couple of guys that wouldn't understand why I'd prefer watching Clay over and over to seeing all the sights of NYC. Still, I get to do both so no complaints from me!
Thank you. I don't think that QVC information was there a few hours ago. The [series] designation is interesting. It would be cool if they listed all his appearances for the album under that same link.
Have a blast at Spamalot--you will love it!!

Coincidentally, my favorite lines from the song.

I have a job interview tomorrow, all day. I just found out Thursday. ACK! But I did it, I'm ready, I'm incredibly prepared, and, I'm scared shitless. It's a great job, the best of any I've applied for in the last two years, and only the seond time out of dozens of applications that I've made it to the interview stage. It's one of my "dream jobs" since I moved here, but there hasn't been an opening til now. It really is a job ideally suited for me, and hopefully, I for them. But the competition is bound to be competitive, LOL. So please, send good vibes. Please!! Benign use of magical powers is perfectly acceptable as well, should anyone be moved.
CG, what do you expect? Capitulation? :F_05BL17blowkiss:
My rewind impressions on a day I'm majorly preoccupied elsewhere all have to do with how far he's come. I'll take Clay today over that Clay, as much as I have always loved AI Clay. Today's Clay is hawt, polished, multi-faceted, and did I mention, hawt. And still cute.

Oooooo nice, Gibby.
too.

Today (April 9) OMWH is added to Clay's myspace. A sponsored link that shows up on the sidebar with a "Idol Gives Back" google search takes you to http://guptamedia.com/clayaiken/. The site has links to Amazon and Walmart, plays OMWH, has the webisodes, and even a game.

Three quarters of the difference of the PR to me is simply the reaction of the fandom - there doesn't seem to be the wholesale pissing on everything and hating on everyone from Jaymes to old PR dude to Clive to ATDW. I still will resist to make ATDW something less than it is - because, damn that's some pretty stuff. I like the pretty.
And fan enthusiasm fuels enthusiasm beyond the hard core fandom. Hooray!!

Everybody who is off to NYC, have a blast!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

testing new avie!
Purdy, but in biggie size on my desktop....

Ryan also credited the arrangement in the introduction. Guess AI is learning that people really expect credit to be given.

:7: Now that's what I'm talking about!!!
Thanks Kipper, for taking this dreadful version:

To this beautifully produced and sung version:

:big hug: Good job Clay................. :F_05BL17blowkiss:
No shit! I do understand that some don't care about whether a person sings well or not, but if one does care, the contrast between Tedder's and Aiken's voices is extreme.
Ok, QVC? I still think selling a CD on QVC is tacky, and more Barry Manilow comparisons will be inevitable, but....A couple of things snagged from CH about QVC and music sales:
Not much of a QVC person here - in any way whatsoever. So is OMWH a gizmo or a gadget? What other artists have done the QVC thing - besides Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Barry Manilow...Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, the Goo Goo Dolls, LeAnn Rimes, among others.
Here are some articles with sales numbers for music acts on QVC.
LA Times - Shopping Channels Tune in to Musical Acts
Manilow is preparing for his second QVC gig this fall to promote his new CD, "The Greatest Songs of the Seventies." His first appearance, to promote "The Greatest Songs of the Sixties," resulted in 43,000 CDs being sold in one hour, according to QVC.Wall Street Journal - The Music Industry's New Taste Maker
During Mr. Sedaka's live performance April 19 at the channel's West Chester, Pa., headquarters, QVC sold nearly 19,000 copies of his new CD, according to his label, about 78% of his first-week sales.<snip>
Each of the four acts QVC has featured this year has either jumped onto the album chart or seen spikes in record sales after its appearance. In March, the country-rock group Alabama sold more than 21,000 copies of "Songs of Inspiration II" on QVC, the channel says -- or as much as 81% of the figure that landed the album at No. 33 on the chart. After a February performance to promote a special edition of their 2006 album "Let Love In," the Goo Goo Dolls returned to the chart with 15,000 copies sold that week, according to Billboard.
and from my gal Rockys mom:
Not much of a QVC person here - in any way whatsoever. So is OMWH a gizmo or a gadget? What other artists have done the QVC thing - besides Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Barry Manilow...The Moody Blues,Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones (I think),and Emerson,Lake, and Palmer have all been on QVC.I think Bon Jovi might have been on at some time as well.
Pink Floyd and the Stones were not in the studio, there was a lot of merchandise available besides the CD since these appearances were in support of tours.....ELP were in the studio and talked quite a bit but did not perform live,The Moody Blues did perform (at least Justin Hayward and John Lodge did-I have it on videotape somewhere) and also had an autographed poster and a calendar for sale, besides the CD.
Their shows on Pink Floyd made me decide to finally see them in concert, lucky decision since they haven't toured again since!
Gibby! Love your analyses!!

Agree totally--best group sing ever. I've listened to the audio so much, it's funny to see the choreography again. Those four could really harmonize and sing back-up for one another, and then the latter part is all four-part blending. Just amazing. I loved the BeeGees medley on the tour too--it was my favorite part of the show (except for that Aiken guy). Grease as a vocal performance was outstanding as well. Physically as a group it didn't work so well. They didn't move with a whole lot of confidence or sophistication. I didn't care at the time, because I thought of them as budding artists, not pros. And man, did they sound good. No season since has there been a group that could harmonize the way the season 2 folks did. That year the progression that can occur on AI was the narrative (sorry) of that season, and it really worked--the way you can take someone with the raw talent but without the conventional looks and teach them what they need to know to make it.
Clay should've won.

I remembered to put my AI Rewind recap in the right thread! Yay me!
OK, I'm turning AOL on in 6 hours and 20 minutes and they had BETTER have my stuff up!
and Liney, the likelihood of me and my sister cleaning for anyone who didn't go through a couple of day's of labor giving birth to us (though as I explained to my mother, since she was doped to the gills while having me and doesn't remember any of it, it should count and my youngest should have to do it all by herself. She didn't agree. So I took great delight in throwing away three-quarters of her crap. I like throwing away other people's stuff!) is zilch. Hell, I still haven't managed to clean up my place!
And your recap is a word of art, a masterpiece, second only to Clay that night!!!
I need someone to throw away 3/4 of my crap. Does your mother know you did this yet? Did she (she is gonna have a) shit fit? (KAndre style punctuation there.)

It's the whole song! (with an annoying voice somewhere in the middle saying "AOL First Listen" or something like that)
Thanks jmh! I knew I remembered an annoying voice, but I couldn't remember if it was an interview or what!
Now the only question that remains is will it be up before I have to leave for work!
It could be up tonight shortly after midnight. That has been the case in the past.
