Thank you dancermom2 for the full audio from last night!  It was so great to see everyone at dinner.  Thanks to clayitagain for arranging everything!

I headed to Niagara Falls with cindilu2, my fried Sue, my daughter Lindsay and her friend Lisa, all of us long time Clay fans and travel buddies.  The two girls were only 18 when this whole thing started, but both of them are now mothers of two.  It was so great to do a road trip again!  We arrived at Fallsview after about 2 hours of driving and went into the casino, then outside for a walk around, to take in the scenic views.  Dinner at Shoeless Joes was great but what was up with no A/C?  It was 28 degrees outside (and possibly inside too LOL).  After dinner we headed to the venue, but first perused our options at the cake-in-the-wall dispenser.  What a novel concept!  We decided to leave it for later.  On to the venue where we were the first people admitted?  Seemed that way, we were definitely first to the merchandise table!  We beat the crowds and I bought a lovely purple t-shirt.  Then we headed down to our 4th row seats on the left hand side.  Pretty good view of the stage!  We noticed, as the venue filled in, how few people we actually recognized.  It was definitely an AI-loving not-just-us crowd for the most part.  canfly came over for a visit, and offered us a front row seat, but we declined as we wanted to stick together.  Thanks though!

The lights went down, we held our breath until we heard the voice we were waiting for, then we screamed.  It was like being tranported back in time.  Shades of the Jukebox tour at times.  Clay was ON.  When he sang "To Love Somebody" I couldn't contain myself, it just kept getting better and better as he went along.  I've never seen him sing like that, he was feeling it, he was emoting it, and then he wailed on that note and I died.  As the applause finally died down I felt a text message vibrate and looked down to read "we are coming back tomorrow, right?" from my daughter Lindsay.  Well, we weren't planning to, but after that, yes, obviously we will be. OMG!

The rest of the concert passed in a bit of a blur (or a Clay fog I guess).  Ruben was also in great voice.  The girls were losing their minds during the NKOTB bit.  Clay in the hat was hilarious and spectacular all at the same time.  None of us had really spoiled ourselves so we didn't know what to expect.  Every big song that Clay sang was perfection.  We were all getting goosebumps and chills.  I haven't heard him sound this good since.....I don't know when.  Ever?  Is that even possible?  There was no intermission, and the show ended far earlier than I wanted it to.  The encore of Impossible Dream was unexpected but very fitting.

I would have been in tears leaving except that I had already decided we are going back again tonight!  Neither of us in the position right now to do extended road trips with babies & dogs to care for, but we had already booked today off figuring we'd need time to recover, so why not do another road trip?  It helps that it's an afternoon show so we won't be back late.  Now, off I go to download some clack!

If you are on the fence, please jump off it and buy tickets to whatever show you can get to.  You won't regret it.

The clack is coming fast and furious!  There's a bunch just added to the CV vault, if you have access there.  I'm hoping to get it downloaded in the next few days for those who don't.

Today’s recap from luckiest1:

Quote

So we drove back to NF today for our second show, and sat on the left side of the stage in a little raised area with four rows of seats. We grabbed these tickets last night on the way home so we took what we could get. We were in the fourth row so the beauty of it was we could stand the whole show and not block anyones view. It was a good things since every person in row 3 was at least six feet tall and we are both five foot nuthin. LOL. Beside us were a couple whod seen the AI tour 20 years ago but nothing else. They couldnt believe our concert count (67 for Lindsay and at least 10 or 20 more for me). 🤪

The show was just as amazing as last night, which is incredible to say! Clay was having a great time and we were having a blast watching him. I love being able to see his feet (right goldarngirl?) so our vantage point was spectacular. He was like a pogo stick, jumping up and down on the spot when he wasnt singing a big number. He has a lot of fun singing back up with Ashley, doing all the little choreographed moves that remind me so much of the jukebox tour. No changes to the setlist, still a shorter show (apparently the casino length) so Ill be interested to follow along with the tour to see what changes are made at other venues. During Mandy he hit his leg with his fist, which made me grin and reminisce. During "Unchained Melody" I could see his fingernails sparkling. He really nailed the sliding note up to the high part today! Very very cool to see this in person again, as someone who was at the OMG (PBS) concert in Raleigh all those years ago. He was all over the stage during "To Love Somebody" today, singing to both sides and just wailing on those notes that I love so much. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" just blows the audience away too. NKOTB was so funny again, and I think my daughter has video of it. Hes such a ham.

I heard an usher telling some NJU before the show started that yesterday was the best concert shed ever seen at that venue. I thought that was so awesome. Hes really blowing peoples minds. I hope this will lead to more tours in future. Its so great to have singing Clay back. ❤

Unfortunately we couldnt stay for dinner but we were able to give hugs to old friends before we headed out into the mix of rain and snow on our drive home. What a crazy shift in the weather from yesterdays balmy 28 degrees Celsius! I hope everyone has safe travels home tomorrow.

There's even more recaps and clack out there, but I have no time today because today's my 25th wedding anniversary!  DH and I both have to work today, and then a special dinner out tonight.

I'll try my best to catch up on clack/recaps soon!
