  1. Woohoo! New season starts September 27 OK, having a team made up of two Harlem Globetrotters should be interesting! I'll have to look at the rest of the teams later.
  2. couchie, I know it's too late now, but whenever I make a spreadsheet that involves names, I ALWAYS split the name into a column each for "first name" and "last name." I learned the hard way with that. Everyone got back into the swing of voting yesterday! Thank goodness! And here's the first picture to make it to the Sweet 16: Today's photo poll is here! I hope everyone has a great day!
  3. I see everyone is back in the swing of voting! Glad to see so many have returned! Here are your choices for today... #1 OR #2 Have a great day, and don't forget to vote at the top of the page.
  4. I'd help him comb it... Love the new answers on the OFC. I think my favorite was his voting patterns. OTOH, I'm nursing a summer cold at the moment...and there's no way in HELL I'd drink his suggestion. YUCK! The photo tourney is back, the photo tourney is back! Now we'll start whittling down until we get to our eventual winner. Here is your photo tourney poll for today! Have fun, and happy voting! Ooooo, almost forgot -- I'm so happy Simba came back muski!
  5. Did everyone have a great Labor Day weekend? I sure did. But now...back to the pretties... Here are your choices for today: #1 OR #2 Please vote at the top of the page!
  6. He can roll out of my bed ANYTIME looking like this... IMO, this needs to be pulled out again.. He's so CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Strawberry Fields Forever -- The Beatles (grabbing that before luckiest1 does...hee)
  8. georgiesmybaby, thanks for the compliment on the photo tourney (and to all the rest of you who have enjoyed the game...so far...). I'm still trying to decide what exactly will be happening when the tourney starts up again on Tuesday. Will there be more people like you, who won't be able to decide, and then stop voting? Or will more people show up to edge a picture toward winning? Who knows! The CH is having their "first Saturday" picturefest, and dancermom2 just posted this beauty, which I don't think I've ever seen before. Maybe even merrieeee might like this angle...
  9. aikim, the one Lotus is talking about is the second one... As I said, I know I've seen the sweater before, but the outfit as a whole -- I'm just not sure...
  10. Lotus, I remember seeing that outfit, but I sure can't remember where. And I think we've seen the sweater with other outfits... _____ Saw this on Openly Clay, but I think it's making the rounds, it's time to post it here. It's another very nice tribute to K-Na from an Omaha news station, and it talks quite a bit about her love of Clay. The whole piece is set to BYLM. (There is a brief ad before the piece...) Remembering Khrystyna *sob* _____ And..um...I'm going to sneak this in... Happy birthday Reed!
  11. From CV: Tyra Banks Has Morning Breath and Clay Aiken Has Fresh Breath! And the picture included is... See, I can't get away from posting pictures anymore! But you're not voting this time!
  12. I just got back from my clothes shopping trip for the Gala -- found a wonderful, multi-colored Oriental style jacket from Chicos. I have a pair of their traveler pants to wear it with (I bought them 5 years ago, when I went to the Atlanta JNT shows). All I need now is shoes and a bag. Oh, and jewelry. Congrats luckiest1 on the blogroll. This recession really sucks, but there's one thing that I'm glad about it, and that it is almost forcing people to learn how to cook! It's so much cheaper to cook, and so much healthier too. tribeca, Julia Child's stuff can be pretty complicated, but there are lots of cookbooks out there for the beginning cook that would give you the basics. "The Joy of Cooking" is quite good. I love having a day off....
  13. merrieeee! So far, the photo tourney has been a massive success, and here is yesterday's winner... Now, next week, we'll start eliminating the winners from the first round. I'm sending out a mass email later this weekend with more details... {{{{{{{family of K-na}}}}}}} clayzy, that's cool about your "subtle" Clay Aiken plug. I swear, my desktop picture (me and Clay at the stagedoor last December) gets more conversations going than anything else... *trundles back off to bed*
  14. Good morning FCA! Well, we're halfway finished with the photo tourney. After tomorrow's winner is revealed, I am taking a bit of a break -- partially because it is Labor Day weekend for us Yanks, but also because I have 4 days off in a row, and I'd like to sleep in! Therefore, the photo tourney will return on Tuesday, September 8, where we'll begin our second round of eliminations. Here's yesterday's winner... And here is the final tourney poll of the first half... I'll be around I'm sure, but I'll go ahead and start with the good wishes for a happy and safe Labor Day!
  15. And here we are...the last two pictures to be revealed. I hope you have enjoyed "the reveal" each morning. Just a reminder...since we're halfway finished, the tourney is taking a break. I'll be back on Tuesday morning, September 8 to start again with the second round of eliminations. #1 OR #2 Both of these pictures have some meaning for me. I was at the Atlanta concerts in 2004, and that moment at the end was just spectacular. I also remember that the clack gatherers had a dickens of a time -- but at the very end, security got lax and some talented photographers were able to take some shots. The other one? I remember picking up that magazine in the store, just to browse. Stumbled up on the picture, and in my best Bill and Ted voice, said "Whoa." Put the magazine back, as at the time, I wasn't deeply into Clay. But then, I had to pick up the magazine to look at it again. I think I did that 5 times before the magazine made it into my cart. At that point, I think was more deeply into Clay. (That was for muski...) Happy voting!
  16. I think it was Fear that wasn't so sure about the Neely's. Fear, you can lob that egg right back at me, because I LOVE Guy Fieri. And I'll probably get a few more eggs too, because I actually like Rachael Ray's cooking shows too. I like that she's NOT a chef, but really does make food in those 30 minutes. Back to Guy for a second -- I'd love to tour more of the places he's been too on DD&D. I've been to two so far, one in Minneapolis (a great breakfast place called Al's Diner) and one in St. Louis (Sweetie Pie's at the Mangrove, with some of the best Southern food I've ever had!). Food Network is my white noise, so I watch a LOT of shows there by default. But I make time to watch a lot there too -- The Best Thing I Ever Ate is my new one. Tempura Fried Bacon? Gotta try that sometime!
  17. Ah, you'll have to check the main thread for that...but let's just say your instincts were a bit more correct than mine...
  18. Yesterday's photo tourney...well, it was a nail biter. Too much of a one, actually, as I ended up flipping a coin to determine the winner! My apologies to those who voted for the other picture...but here is the winner... Here is today's photo tourney poll. We're down to four pictures...happy voting!
  19. Well, our first "tie" happened yesterday, and I ended up flipping a coin for the winner (literally!). Tough, tough, tough battle. Today, two more pictures revealed! #1 OR #2 Vote at the top of the page!
