#51: You go on with your bad self, Mr. Aiken
ldyjocelyn replied to Couch Tomato's topic in Main Thread Archives
Awwwwww. Pictures of Parker. *pinches chubby cheeks* *wipes down fingerprints left on monitor* Hey! I guess this means Jaymes' isn't pregnant again!!! Working from home this week until the memorial service on Saturday. It's probably going to be a long week -- but I'll be able to keep up here, which will help my spirits. FromClaygary, I thought Parker should have a hat to protect him from the sun. Maybe Jaymes has hims slathered with sunscreen. OTOH, sunglasses would look cooler (see banner above)... -

Thank you all for your kind words. My Mom died earlier this afternoon. Three broken bones, at the age of 88, were just too much for her. Her body is being donated to science, so there will be no funeral, just a memorial service. That is tentatively planned for a week from tomorrow (which will give my sister time to get here). In the meantime, I'll try to keep on keeping on with life while we wait for all this to happen. I'll be in and out for the next few days. Thanks for all your support. I love my Clay friends. Hey couchie -- get the thread title poll going! -

Hey gang -- need to ask a big favor for some prayers for my Mom. She fell this morning, and broke two bones in her pelvis, plus a bone in her arm, plus she had fluid in her lungs. It's not looking good at this point. You might not see me for a while.... -

For those members here who are also members of the CH -- they've started their fund raising drive for 2009 to keep the vault up and running. If you are a key holder there, and are able to do so, please donate! I can't imagine what life would be life without the vaults! There will be a "blast" email to all members, or you can go HERE to make your donation. Again, keyholders only. If you want to make a donation to Clack Unlimited (which could also use help, I'm sure, and is for non-CH or CV keyholders), the link is HERE! -

Is that a question you can ask Clay at the OFC? -

Hmmm.... Now I'm pondering - "Clay, do you think Reed would object if I licked you?" BWAH! Mine too! EEEEEEEEEEEEE! Somehow that concert will always hold a special place in my heart! Are you talking about that special touch of someone's hand in the parking lot in Tulsa? I think LdyJ also remembers that fondly. I loved that answer too, and yes, that was a very special night. I still can see merrieee's face as we both were gobsmacked by the idea that we got to touch Clay! I don't need to re-up until June. What are the premiums this time? I know people have talked about a lanyard ... anything else? The lanyard supposedly has a "surprise" on it (more on that in a moment). There's also a lapel pin and a stainless steel travel mug. That fits into my theory that one of the things Clay was doing in LA was autographing the back of the OFC lanyards as the "special surprise". [Yeah. like I ever guess right about anything Clay does.... ] I like the way you think! I'm thinking that's what it might be too. The other possibility that I've read suggested that would be a cool thing is a special code to download an unreleased song (either BFM or TRD, probably). With the light of Clay owning JY, this to me could also be a possibility. You know...this whole Vegas "surprise" appearance has me pleased, and in more ways than just one. It's gonna be great to hear Clay sing (via clack in my case) and I love that he's got friends in high places like DF. At the same time, I also like that this was a last minute appearance. Personally, I like the idea that the whole audience won't be Clay Aiken fans at this point, but people who like DF and his music. Let's get some new blood in this fandom, and that's one way to do it -- Clay singing in front of people who would have never sought him out otherwise. I think that's fantastic. And for those in the fandom who CAN go -- more power to you! I hope you enjoy each and every minute! -

Not caught up, but I've just read that he's back answering questions again at the OFC! Favorite answer so far this round -- and there's no way to paraphrase it: "How did you learn there wasn't a Santa Clause?" His answer: WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? -

This will probably get lost in all the squeeing over the Las Vegas appearance, but it's important, especially to someone like bottlecap, who I'm sure has been asking rhetorical questions, and that's the only reason why Clay hasn't answered her yet. From BFS at the OFC-please take to other boards and use blue as she does at the OFC. It's been suggested that if you do make commentary as well as a question, to bold the question. -

I've asked a whopping total of three questions. The first one actually got answered (it was about whose idea the classics medley was for the 2007 tour). The third question I asked was so good, I can't even remember what it was! LOL. It IS kind of a thrill to get something like that answered, so I understand bc. *crosses fingers* -

I don't get the sweater hate either, just for the sake of...it's just clothes. Now, I have to admit the sweater is a bit bulkier than I'd like on him, but having said that -- he looks happy and adorable with that damn smile of his. From CV: -

His clothing just makes me laugh (what a bulky sweater, but whatever), but he looks so joyful and happy mentoring the kids....:::heart:::: -

Well, I can't argue with you on that sentiment because I agree entirely HOWEVER, the industry isn't so loyal... it places substantial weight on statistics and awards. This is true, of course. Many times conglomerates place way too much emphasis on the sales aspects, or the awards aspects, of a career. And unfortunately, careers can be built (or fall) because of that. But I think what couchie is getting at (and I'm sure she'll correct me if I'm wrong) is that sales really aren't everything. Success can't always be considered just simply sales -- it can be as simple as having a child who loves you. Or being able to share a love of children through charitable foundations. Or being able to raise awareness of GLBT issues to people who never would have taken the initiative to find out about it. Therefore, Clay is successful to me and always will be. And I would venture a guess that he'll be remembered for much of that in 20 to 30 years as well. -

From the CH: And bottlecap, you've been holding out on us! *pout* bottlecap at CV added this: Clay is amazing me lately with his openness. Frankly, I never thought I'd see him be this open and receptive to fans before. He's always seemed like a pretty private person to me and would sometimes think some "requests" by fans would be intrusive. (And I did love his idea that Twitter is the devil. Hee). Having said that, I'm pleased as punch about it. It's been a load of fun, and I've learned so much about him. Just hope that when he gets really busy again, and these "messages" get fewer and further apart again (and I certainly think they will), that some in the fandom don't blow a gasket. Reports are that butterflyshine had a camera malfunction last night and wasn't able to tape Clay's segment of the Rosie benefit last night. She will be writing a full recap later today though...as I will expect luckiest1 as well! -

Damn, I'm going to have to rethink this sleep thing. Love the new pictures with Parker. Hate that they've got "TMZ" all over them. Oh well...as a celebrity, he probably knew it would happen, it was just a question of when. And as aikim noted, no facial pictures. I think that's significant. Parker looks like he's growing up quite well. I knew that OFC membership was going to come in handy! LOL! Love all his answers...and better yet, I love the questions he picked. I :::heart::: him. Have fun luckiest1 and daughter! Sounds like a great trip planned! P.S. Awwww... I just KNEW that sweater had to be expensive! I personally like it -- looks like an interesting texture. All the better to run my hands across his chest in it. Sawoon. Have fun! And say "hi" to laughn for me! Just Jared has the pictures from yesterday, as well as Clay's entire blog. They include the links to download JY and donate to the BAF as well. Cool! -

Back from Mom's. She's doing as well as you would expect an 88 year old woman who lives in a nursing home to be...but it was good to spend time with her, and eat Mexican food with her as well. Geez, missed more questions! I was NOT expecting that. But again, I loved the answers he gave. I had forgotten about the ban on gay men giving blood...talk about sad. And his whole thing about bullying was spot on to me. Gosh, he's good. Time for bed.
