  1. From the CH: newsday.com American Idol Trading Cards: Adam Lambert for Anoop Desai? Wonder how many of Clay's card they will print?
  2. Well, not he didn't exactly confirm it if you read the blog closely... True. I actually made a comment to him saying "thanks for not confirming anything." Hee.
  3. HE BLOGGED!!!!!! Hee. We're such good detectives, is the gist of the blog. And he confirms the 30 Rock appearance! LOL!
  4. Mark this date in your calendars, ladies! jmh SMUTTED! You noticed. Heh. I noticed too. And then, I though..."thread title material." couchie! My first thought about the picture was..."they sell cars on Sunday?" They DON'T in Illinois, for some strange reason. But Clay looked good, and that's all that matters to me.
  5. Woohoo! Phil in his underwear! Woohoo!!!!!!!!
  6. I'm interested too. Me too...because I know where my towel is. *g*
  7. That's true. But I honestly think that what I see as the constant worry about Clay, especially when it's repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, is so very tiring. And I also think that it eventually does turn into a negative thing. tribeca, I understand worrying. I usually worry about much that goes on in my life (and yes, it ties into my mother too). But I think that you'll learn, as I did, that worrying about Clay really doesn't do anything for me, except give me a headache and heartburn. Bolding mine. I think that's the crux of the whole conversation today, isn't it? Don't trust any reporting. But that's not really about Clay per se, it's more about the reporting, and also about US. I remember so many after show reports where one person thought Clay looked terrible, and then another reported he looked fabulous, and so on, and so on, and scooby dooby dooby. It's all opinions, so I just wait until I can judge. One more quote, one that I can't remember totally, so I always have to look it up. Loved this scene: Crash Davis in Bull Durham
  8. In honor of Gibby's birthday, my favorite movie quote: Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark
  9. :fest09: Happy Birthday Gibby! And I love wandacleo's way with words.
  10. From getclayaiken (sorry laughn, I just cut and pasted your posts from there...): I know seats are going for $400 and $500, so this is a bargain:
  11. claytonic, I agree with everything you say there. I know it's not about Clay to these people, it's about them. I guess my point is that I don't understand WHY they worry so much about Clay. In a sense, I do understand -- IMO some are afraid that Clay is going to leave, never to sing a note or appear on the stage again. But that's why I keep saying I have faith in Clay. I can't find myself worrying about Clay, so it always flummoxes me when I see people worrying much more about Clay (who probably has more money than all of us at FCA put together, and IMO will have a career longer than many of our lifetimes) than their own lives. Heck, I don't worry about my husband all that much, and he LIVES with me. I also understand the idea of speculating about his career. Shoot, a few years ago, I would have been right there in the thick of it. Not any more. As I said earlier, there were just too many instances where "opinions" morphed into "fact" at the drop of a hat, and I just stopped. And for every person who is going to worry about Clay's career, there's probably someone like me, who just doesn't get it. Their viewpoint is valid; so is mine.
  12. clayzy, you were picked up as a Google News alert. That's why so many have seen it. I hope you get some support!
  13. Ding, ding, ding! That's it exactly. I can see this blog comment posting as becoming fact in about 20 seconds. And it's not that I don't necessarily WANT this to be true, but it's the idea that things being repeated over and over take on a life of their own. Thanks kf for giving me the name of the character Kenneth. Again, I've not seen the show, so I know I'm talking out of my butt here, but I always thought the Kenneth/Clay comparison was simply because they both seemed proud of who they are, even if there was all kinds of stuff floating around them. But as I said...what do I know? BTW...April 16 is a Thursday. Just sayin'. ETA: claytonic, I understand you...but when it comes to Clay's career, it seems all bets are off. IMO there are some that worry endlessly about Clay's career, so when they hear any little tidbit, no matter who it is from, it becomes a basis for reality. So no, not EVERYONE has gotten on the clue train. Don't think it will ever happen either.
  14. *tries to staple laughn to the board* *uses SuperGlue instead, 'cause it's less painful* Yeah, me too. I think it is. I've never seen it either, but I seem to remember that there's a character that people thought Tina Fey may have modeled Clay after -- kind of geeky, rumors swirling about his sexuality, etc. But I can't remember the characters name. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to it. Another thing I'll say one more time: as much as I love Clay's singing voice, I do think he can have a strong career in television, and could be easily successful regularly on my TV. I'm not sure if I totally want him to do a comedy show every week...but I gotta say, it would be cheap for me, no flying to concerts! LOL! Day off today!!! Woohoo!!! Time for some breakfast, and they I think I'm going to reorganize my pantry. There's twenty gazillion other things I SHOULD do, but that's what I want to do. Neener. ETA: The problem with it is, it didn't come off as opinion, it came off as fact. When opinions start being touted as fact (and that's happened a LOT in this fandom), I usually run for the hills.
  15. Congrats clayzy for your recognition of your campus project! Good for you! As for the thing aikim just posted...personally, I'm saying "ugh." Not necessarily for what was said by this person, but more for "I know things" attitude that comes through. Even thought this person says they work for BMG -- do they really? How do I know? Yes, the salt shaker is out full throttle for me. Honestly, what was said is what may be going on. I can see it that way. But...I guess I don't need the reassurance, which is how this comes off to me, like they are trying to make the fans feel OK. The idea of not knowing is driving so many (to me) fans crazy, and that is what drives ME crazy. I'll say it once, I'll say it a thousand times -- I have faith in Clay Aiken. His voice. His career choices. His humor. And he doesn't need me, as simply a fan, to make any of those decisions for him.
  16. Wellllll, unless it's out of your control .... I seem to remember a "lickiest1" running around here a couple of years ago? I seem to remember that too. Wonder who DID have something to do with it? As a matter of fact, I was rereading some old threads the other day, and found lickiest1, and just had to :lmaosmiley-1: . BTW...for the new people around here...I find it interesting to go back and read some of the old threads around here. You'll find some laughs; you'll probably find some explanations of things we refer to all the time now; you'll find some...interesting discussions (some heated); you'll probably come up with more questions! But anyway, if you want a sense of "our" history, try the archives thread: Archives Thread
  17. people.com Clay Aiken, T.R. Knight to Present at GLAAD Awards
  18. I've read that the GLAAD awards are televised on LOGO (which I don't get) and Bravo (which I do). I can't find confirmation on that yet. I'm pleased as punch that this will be happening! WOOHOO! You go Clay! While I do have a Twitter account, I really just don't get it. But I do laugh that they call messages using this technology "tweets." Cute sweatshirt Reed!
  19. Somehow, I think the standing ovation would have been even bigger if the pants HAD fallen off! As for that flight...well, I guess he decided he'd had enough of regular first class, what with foot troubles and all. *g* Posing as a designer? Heh. Maybe he called Paul Smith for some pointers?
  20. I was there too! Too bad none of us knew each other at the time! I can remember lots of good concert moments, but my memory is terrible at where and when some things take place, not to mention who took the clack. But then, with other things, I can pull things out of my memory in a heartbeat -- like that Clay as Cher clip that Clayzy asked about the other night. Hmmmm, wonder why that clip made such an impression on me? *g*
  21. Clayzy, who's version of that clack did you see? That's a performance that needs to be seen in a couple of different viewpoints. It's good to see one facing Quiana directly, but there's also clack (I think it's from Scarlett?) that can see Clay's face during it too. That's classic...I love seeing him mouth the words along with her. ITA with muski, it's so much fun to introduce new fans to old clack. I'd honestly suggest any of the banter from the 2006 Christmas shows. To me, that tour was the Clay Aiken comedy hour (and a half), and the banter from that tour makes me smile every time I think of it.
