  1. Hello and Happy Friday, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Does anyone need a Sendspace of the Tyra-Clay blurb? It doesn't take but a minute to make. I'll check back in a bit. Cha Cha -- love your AYSTAFG page! Have a great weekend! :00000442: Caro
  2. Cindilu, thank you for an awesome banner on this special week! In an email discussion about saving graphics in layers, Cindy told me there is one for each of the 24 Clays along the bottom. I wonder how many total layers are in this banner, Cindy. It is really beautiful and absolutely perfect for Atlanta Auditions Rewind Week! FromClaygary, I already asked about the possibility of a wallpaper. Great minds! If you read my blog, you know that Texas Grandpa thought he would stop my never-ending requests for more photos of Kai by sending a set showing how everything around the new baby is total chaos. He even entitled the email "Pictures of Kai." I sent the photos to Sally, who created a collage with the title: Hurricane Kai Hits Texas Home. Grandpa not only admits we had the last laugh, but he also printed copies for family and friends. This is a clickable of the "storm" in my current entry: Clickable Have a great Tuesday, all! I'm off to catch up! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Caro
  3. Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to our Canadians! Greetings to everyone else, too! Thank you for the wallpaper, ChaCha, and the handsome CApix, Idyjocelyn! The avi looks great, Muskifest. Zena, Sassy, and all other new members I have missed! Glad to have you at FCA! Go, Tar Heels! Have an awesome weekend, FCA! Caro
  4. Well, I was wrong about the "5th Grader" special on Fox. It's another episode of AYSTAFG. Perhaps we will see a promo for Clay -- WOOHOO!!! I remember seeing this "new classmate" last night. Caro
  5. Happy TGIF, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Love and agree with the sentiments of your post, Cindilu2! Also the "looking back" banner! My grandson -- we're calling him Kai this week -- had his first check-up at the pediatrician since his birth Sept. 17. He has gained six ounces to 5 lbs. 8 ozs. and 1/2 inch to 19 inches. Last night he slept five hours between feedings. The fact that I heard my grandson's voice for the first time on Wednesday is part of my new blog -- Clay Slated for Oct. 11 '5th Grader' / A First for Grandma along with various other stories. There are others, but this is Cindilu2's graphic of a photo by Tangerine: Clickable I told Jen I printed the promise of a new picture or two in my blog, so I hope to have "adds" this weekend at the OFC and Carolina On My Mind. She is working with a really old, large digital; but that's about to change because late last night her mother ordered her a snazzy little Canon with 2 GB's of memory (selected by Sally). I also told her that the camera comes with "strings" attached. Belated birthday greetings to Keepingfaith for the 3rd and Liney23 on the 4th! Have fun in Oceanside, Couch Tomato! I need to find your thread. I would love to have my signature headphones added: Also, for some of us prone to blowing bubbles, Sally mirrored this one so it faces the text: If anyone is interested, Fox has a special on the five students of "5th Grader" at 8 p.m. ET/PT tonight. Have a great weekend, FCA! Caro
  6. Hello, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: "Pick a little, talk a little ... cheep, cheep, cheep ... talk a lot, pick a little more ... " My life this week seems to be based on that song except the words are more like: "Do a little tax, teach a little ... blog, blog, blog ... teach a lot, tax a little more ... " You get the idea. I've been reading along and enjoying your conversations on occasional breaks. I look forward to being back on schedule SOON. Love the new morph and wallpaper Cindilu2! That's a perfect avatar for you -- KarenEh? My blog features Cindy's gorgeous October calendar, as well as the dateless version. One reader said she is going to have to purchase a new printer just so she can have that pix. There again, Clay is the aiding the economy. Come to think of it, I've ordered a camera. Have to learn how to use it before I meet my grandson! Ialreadyam! Have a great evening, all! Caro
  7. Good Afternoon, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Lilyshines -- glad to have you here! I admit I still have a one-track mind, but I did read through the high school reunions, various awards (LOL!), etc. Love the awesome pictures, too! KarenEH? -- so glad you have front row seats at Williamsport! Looking forward to your wonderful photos! Luckiest, that's great your test was clear. Enjoy the rest of your day off! Keepingfatih, hope you are feeling better. My one track is currently in West Texas, and I tied the new grandson in with several photo tips for my daughter Jen from Sally. At the same time, Sally is an excellent photo editor, as you can see in the difference in these two clickables: Clickables -- Second photo edited by Sally There are more in my blog at the OFC and at Carolina On My Mind -- including a Clay connection. Lawd Jesus, this baby has the Aiken's feet! to andyclayaikenraleighbaby919_30! Have a great day, FCA! Caro
  8. And there's superscript, subscript, strikethrough, inserting special items (heh!!), and tons more. Yay!! Yay for the color box being down in "the zone"!!! I kind of like the color -- Tarheel Blue -- but I'm easy. Way to go, Couchie! I'm off to teach in High Point shortly. Glad to see the board is up and running. It is laid out a lot like the new Clayversity site as far as emoticons, font attributes, etc. Grandson is one week old today. Y'all have a great day! Caro ETA: My PM's are messed up, too. Now if you could get the correction counter turned off, that would be awesome. Halfway kidding ...
  9. Good Morning, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: I am not a quilter, but I really enjoyed reading about your experiences and seeing the results from several members here. Beautiful work -- From Claygary, Scarlett, KarenEh? Happy clack watching and good luck with the tests, Luckiest1! Many thnx for al your kind comments about my Texas grandson Sunday. to PhillyluvsClay! Have a great day, all! Caro
  10. Congratulations to you and the proud grandparents, FromClaygary! Glad you finally received a picture! Beautiful quilts, too! Caro
  11. Welcome, ellenpoppy! Glad to have you at FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Caro
  12. Hello, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Greetings to our newest member, PermaSwooned! to Manderly! I apologize for being on a one-track grandmother course, but I have enjoyed reading the vocal warm-up and name discussions. Gibby, I have my instrumental students establish a warm-up routine -- long tones, scales, arpeggios, etc. -- and make the connection by discussing how athletes spend time stretching, building strength/facility, etc. I'm sure if I were a singer I would be doing the same. My husband traveled with Sonny James in the 1970s-80s; and even on a tour bus, Sonny went through an elaborate warm-up routine. According to the drummer, the funniest sounding was his use of native American Indian chants to warm up his voice prior to a performance. It is pure torture being a new grandmother 1,466 miles away; and the last thing on everyone's mind has been taking pictures. After giving her baby a name and a half -- Tavarrius Kai'mana Mata'uaina Chandler -- my daughter and her grandmother have been calling him "Baby" and "Baby Love." Yesterday I suggested "Jack," her late Texas grandfather's name. We shall see. "Jack" is still a couple of weeks from his original due date, so he sleeps quite a bit. Here are four clickable photos, three that Sally edited and one that I simply cropped: I also sent the Texans Sally's photo tips for high resolution, natural sunlight, filling up the frame with the subject, etc. Give Miss Sally pixels, and she can do anything. The only name problem I have with my real name -- Dianne -- is the two n's instead of the more common spelling. On the boards, I'm Carolina Clay, one word or two, but use the abbreviated Caro everywhere. Y'all have a great day! Caro ETA: I added the other two and promise not to swamp you with baby pix!
  13. Welcome Sylvie and heartsocean! :F_05BL17blowkiss: So glad to have you at FCA and to read how you arrived here. Caro
  14. Happy Weekend, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Sylvie! Go, WV Mountaineers! Aikim and Lucia! Hope to have baby pix later today. Have a great weekend, all! Caro
  15. I wish -- but I have to teach lessons to pay the bills. I'll have to wait for some school vacation time. Caro
  16. TGIF Greetings, FCA ! Like everyone else, my thoughts are with Clay and his family. Out of curiosity, I learned that a link in my browsing history will take me to the blogs. The message board is definitely closed off. After my little expedition, I have since logged out. Happy Birthday, AAIT! Around 5 p.m. Thursday, my daughter was told she and her son would be discharged that evening. After it was all said and done, they got to bed around midnight. I've never heard of people being discharged between 8 and 9 p.m. Needless to say, there are some tired folks in West Texas; and I wish I could wiggle my nose and at least be there for a long weekend. Have a great day, FCA! Caro
  17. Good Morning, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Thnx to all for the baby congrats. Look forward to welcoming you to the club, gbmifan! PSA: Last night I finished returning all the grandmother congrats in my OFC blog. Along the way, I rattled a few cobwebs in a few long-forgotten journals. Some of you here have a new blog comment. Just sayin' Wanda, I love your stork picture and am adding it to my collection. Speaking of which, here's a cutie from Sally since the last time I was here. This could be any of us busily communicating via our computers: We are grateful that you were fully loaded, Karen! All the "anniversary" photos inspired me to take a tour through my P/B, and I have one to share -- even though I'm a day late. This is a Cindilu2-Kareh Eh? collaboration: Solo, so glad to read the Scarlett-Solo story from your angle! That's definitely a tale for the Claymate Hall of Fame. With all the ATDW anniversary celebrations this week, this was a fun catch-up. I hope to get back on the current track SOON. sunburstoflight! Have an awesome day, all! Caro
  18. Welcome, Desertrose! :F_05BL17blowkiss: A former Texan (El Paso, Lubbock, Odessa), I am glad to meet another representative from the Lone Star State. I enjoyed your introductory post and look forward to catching up with you in the main thread. See you there! Caro
  19. Good Morning, FCA! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Thank you for all the grandma congrats yesterday. Last night I put a little info in my current blog, posted a blurb at CV; but this thread was having too much fun with photos and animations -- so I flaked out. I literally went to bed with the telephone still attached to my ear. The little guy in question was born howling at the top of his lungs, measured 18.5 inches, and weighed 5 lbs 2 ozs. I don't know the time of birth, but my daughter said sometime between 1:30 and 3 p.m. CDT. He has a name and a half: Tavarrius Kai'mana Mata'uaina Jen likes the name Tavarrius, and her love for Hawaii is represented in the middle names, the first meaning ocean/strong and the second powerful speaker. A friend from Texas pointed out there are three possible nicknames in there -- Tav, Kai, or Mat. I hope to have a pix soon. Thnx again for all your congrats here, in my blog, and via PM/email. ldyjocelyn! Have a great day, FCA! Caro
  20. Thank you, ClaysFayevorite, and all who have left messages here, in my blog, and on the candle page. Last night I read Jen some of your comments, and and she continues to be impressed with her mother's Clay Aiken friends. to FCA, ClaysFayevorite! I know you will enjoy life over here. As Play wrote, we're on baby watch. I'm waiting for a decent hour in Texas to get the new room/phone number for my daughter. That is going to be one crazy lesson I teach at the scheduled arrival time this afternoon. Have a wonderful day, all! Caro
  21. :F_05BL17blowkiss: "Ohffishal" greetings to spikesmom and ClayAikenLUVR_15! Glad to have you both at FCA! Caro
  22. Just talked with Jen, and the time has been moved to 1:30 p.m. CDT tomorrow ... when I will be trying to teach a cello lesson in High Point! YIKES!!! I read my daughter some of your comments here and from the JenB candle page, and she was amazed. We appreciate your prayers, good thoughts, and kindnesses. While the rest of us are on pins and needles, Jen is truly the calmest member in our family. Thnx again, FCA! Caro
  23. THIS IS THE NIGHT! :F_05BL17blowkiss: Sometime this evening my daughter's son will be delivered. Her blood pressure and uric acid levels have been elevated all weekend, and this morning her doctor set in motion plans to proceed with delivery this evening. The baby is 35 weeks and 5 days old. Guess we will have a little Virgo instead of a Libra. We appreciate your prayers and good thoughts. This is the candle site that Maddy established a few days ago: JenB. Forgive me, but I have no idea what is being discussed. I have been on the phone for the past two hours. Have a great evening, FCA. I'm on pins and needles. Caro
