  1. Thanks Gibby for the advice. It works! Sorry couchie, sometimes families are the pits. I'd be concerned that this topic might have some legal implications so, personally, I would avoid getting involved discussing it on a board.
  2. To add to my recap, a few of my not so great photos: Here is one with Clay making A & Q hold the note longer in DSIAFCD: A cute but very fuzzy one showing the great hair. It really looked blonde to me.
  3. Claygasm, sending good wishes your way. Playbiller did a great job of NJ style driving through the slush/snow/ice. We visited with brother and his family. He has very young kids so we heard all about school, hockey, fish tanks--whatever young boys are interested in. Very cute. We left early so we got to the venue at 6:30. My SIL said all the shops would be open, so we walked around Morristown, but they weren't. Reminded me of NC in the snow, rolled up tight with a few eating places open. So instead we entered the venue and wandered around. It was a lovely well kept theatre, definitely a contrast to the Red Bank venue, which a year and two tours later, still has the netting on the ceiling to prevent it from falling down on the audience. Despite the bad weather, which by this time had stopped, quite a few people turned out. I read on the OFC that they were about 80% sold out and thought that the bad weather prevented a sell out. Clay was so on and just let his voice rip through the venue. I couldn't believe that he could get better than he was in Red Bank. He smiled so much, and boy is that ever contagious, I thought my face would crack and fall off smiling back. The Jesus medley was so unholy. Those low notes in OLTOB just reverberate through the room and everyone. I thought I heard an undercurrent of moans. The winter medley was so bouncy, it seemed that Clay would just lift off the pedestal and dance around the room. And so the rest of the show went without stop. The time went by way too fast and soon it was time to make the slightly more dangerous trip home. Unfortunately for Playbiller I had a craving for ice cream with my throat getting more sore by the minute, so she also had to drive around to find a store for me to get some. Once back home, I sat ther contentedly with my ice cream and hot tea to look at my pictures and relive the concert I had just seen. Oh, I finally was able to see that fantastic light show. Lots of oohs and aahs at the very end. The whole experience was so worth the expense and the time to rearrange my schedule.
  4. playbiller :14: KAndre I'm afraid Clay is definitely a challange to you in the field of world domination. Maybe you should get a new PR person? Look how it has helped Clay. The way that man brings out all sorts of feelings in people , be it love, admiration or hate, he is a certainty for power. I'm so glad he is doing good for the world so far. :28: What if he decided to be evil. (Picture devil ears on him.) He might expose KG stiches from all her plastic surgery and make jokes about her having sex with Hugh Hefner (who of course would say she is way too old for him.) He might might permanently stich shut KR mouth and make her dance with Wayne Newton forever. He might start a blog and draw pictures on P H, perhaps eating a big mac pizza. He might bankrupt SC and hire him as a limo driver and pool skimmer. Wait, maybe these are good things. Hope you all have a great day. WooHoo, Morristown in the snow tonight.
  5. My kinda recap from Red Bank. This was my first show and wow. Clay hit a home run last night as did Quiana and Angela. The theatre was not sold out but was very full. I'd say 80 to 90%. They released several seats yesterday but since we were in the eighth row it wasn't worth upgrading to me. Clay looked great in the long coat. His hair is so red! I'm really happy to see him in his glasses and with his natural hair color because it signifies to me that he is very comfortable with himself. Not to mention that he trusts us not to desert him based on his looks alone. [/img] Sorry not a great picture but cute. The voice, don't know what I can say about it but wow. He seemed a little hoarse but so am I as the weather here is cold and damp. At home it's eighty degrees. The woman next to playbiller (never posts on any boards) was so excited, she gave him a one person standing ovation while screaming after the first medley (I think). I haven't really watched much clack so it was all a big surprise to me. I absolutely loved the medleys. The socalled "Jesus Medley" was so creative. And the "Winter Medley" was a knockout. Clay nailed "Winter Wonderland". The second half just flew by. The stories were so good and fit in so well with the concert. People in the theatre were very attentive during the stories. I loved the way Jesse segued into the songs from the stories. "O Holy Night" was spectacular. Ending with DSIAFCD and All Is Well was like the end of a fireworks display.
  6. Thanks rohdy for the idea and the good job. I must admit I didn't donate to this particular cause, but I was happy to hear that so many did. I missed the cellcert last night. So happy to hear it was another great concert. The pictures are great and I hope to watch some of the videos tonight. Can't wait for my trip. I was listening to a cd of the JNT 05 while traveling yesterday, I loved the song Christmas Serenade and Celebrate me home. I can't even imagine his voice improving on that. I guess I'm one of the few people who enjoyed that show as did my friends. :8: Ran into a NJU last night at our WFI at the mall. She went to two of the summer tours and was so sad at missing the Christmas concerts. One of the women wrapping was getting a cellcert so she let her listen in. After that she left a very generous donation. We don't initiate Clay talk but this particular young woman knew about the BAF and brought it up. Hope you can go to a second concert Gibby, your clack was wonderful from the first. Hope everyone else who wants to go again gets the opportunity. We have two plumbers and two electricians trying to finish up our kitchen today. I hope it's finally done. There is cooking to be done for my gym class annual Christmas party tomorrow. And I want my dishwasher back. I'm getting dishpan hands. Spoiled as I am. ETA: Just wanted to add that as a singer with a good ear it is not unusual to be able to mimic. I didn't realize that was even a question. I feel sure he can do what the part requires or that wouldn't have hired him. Or as cindilu said.
  7. HI! I can't wait to read more recaps but I'm running out again for the day. Loved those that I read. Haven't even looked at much clack yet. Safe travels and enjoy the DC concert for all who are attending it. :F_05BL17blowkiss: I'm covering for one of our members who is attending the show. I really hope it's great as usual. I can't wait for my turn. Maybe I'd better get some airline tickets before next week.
  8. Just thought I'd say Hi. Happy birthday Clay! Never did figure out how to get those emoticons from other sources.
  9. Nice review BW. Although I'm not religious, I can enjoy some great singing.
  10. Back from taking my older son to the airport in Charlotte. And now there are two. We had a great discussion last night about girlfriends- current, recent and long gone. He also said his friends were shocked that we didn't make him and his girlfriend sleep in separate rooms. Like it would matter if I did. I didn't hear too much of the concert last night but what I heard was wonderful. Although I didn't agree with a lot of the tenent's of the church in which Clay performed last night, it was Clay's concert and not the church's. To me its only a building and has no power to change anything I think or do. But I do agree that anyone else is entitled to their own opinion about this venue. YMMV. Sorry if this is sacriligeous. If no one has taken it, I would love to do MGUCL. It sounded so different from his previous version.
  11. I have to agree with Luckiest1 about a cellcert where it became quite critical. My husband and son were listening in and asked what was going on, was it always like this. I switched it off and we talked about other things instead. I know it was all in fun and the object is to get laughs but it seems some have gone from criticizing Clay's performance to criticizing fans instead. I do appreciate all that they do in providing the cellcerts though and I'll continue to listen to them. Maybe I'm like the little kid seeing people fight and saying why can't we all just get along. Personally, I am just so happy to see that he is performing with an increasingly strong voice and that I can occasionally see and hear him in person. I am not religious at all so some of that aspect will be lost on me, but I am human and can appreciate other's reactions to this religious season and their personal experiences. Now off to get my son to the airport.
  12. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Okay, so they aren't pilgrams but its close. I only have to cook the turkey but it's already cleaned and ready to put in the oven. The sides need heating up. Thanks Whole Foods. My son is baking an apple pie to go with the pumpkin and sweet potato. He even makes the crust. Who knew you could do that?
  13. I hope "Whole Foods" is reading this as they are preparing our Thanksgiving feast this year, except for the turkey which we will bake along with the tofurkey and gravy for the vegetarians. My older son and his girlfriend are here and we are expecting two guests: My sons college friend and (playbiller will enjoy this, although my cats won't) his dog. I hope all of you who have not yet attended a gala will be able to go. It's an opportunity to see all those who work for BAF, so very dedicated to it's cause and to see Clay relaxed and excited to see his dream come true. The radio interview is so Thanksgivinglike, Clay giving back to offer thanks for all he has received. Iam looking forward to the start of the cellcerts and going to the concert, so I ordered my new headphones yesterday. :xmas07a:
  14. Since I don't listen to any of the current singers or watch AI, I don't have an opinion about any of them. I did see some Justin T. and was quite turned off by his personality. But the aerobics instructer at the the gym I attend, said that she stayed up late last night to see Chris D. because he is so hot. She is 37 and has a two year old but was embarrassed to go see him when he played at a club in town. Guess she thought she was too old. Ha! Even my sons listen to older music, of course their choices are from people I never heard of, for instance Bob Wills? They avoid any of the current singers especially those from idol. Since three of the slots in my cd player have Clay cds in them, I have been banished from playing music while they are visiting. I turn it right back on when I am in the car alone.
  15. Wrong Pam, this is Pam G. from Greensboro. She won one of the volunteer awards at the Gala this year. I really like queenp a lot also. We did the cd release party together last year and have had lunch a few times. She is a member of the WFI group also. The show was for nine days and I only wrapped for two. There were volunteers from all over. We start wrapping for the mall on Thanksgiving day. Playbiller and I are very competitive so we do everything together. Actually we both needed to do it and I guess we encouraged each other. I enjoyed AI Rewind this week. The other competitors really knew a good voice when they heard one. Seemed to be a lot of complements for Clay. I'm really curious why TC never mentions this how at the OFC. They certainly are treating Clay like a star on the show.
  16. Hi FearofH2O! Wish I could have been there...I'm so glad to hear a little recap! What a coup getting this show is for Pam and all of you; I'm so proud of y'all! And so delighted it came off well! What happened with the merch the lady from Ireland gathered? Are you going to/did you do some auctions or something? ETA: I keep meaning, and forgetting, to mention...it amuses me to see that Clay's hair was spiked from pretty much Day 1 of at least Hollywood, if not Atlanta. So I'm not sure exactly what Dean B. was going on about with the "huge makeover" he supposedly did. A little hair lightening, and a little eyebrow tweaking looks like about the extent of it to me...and some clothes advice (which I believe Miles did, not Dean). She is going to check with Aaron on how to handle this. I have the feeling she is getting more things as the woman said she would be back the next day (Friday) and the show ends today. Pam did work her buns off as usual. I haven't watched the Hollywood part 2 yet. It's on at eight here. Took my son and his girlfriend around town today. She wanted to go to the original site of Krispie Kreme. Sure brought back memories as this is where Clay went to meet the fans after the IT in Winston-Salem. I was # 148 out of the 150 that they allowed to meet him. He looked so frail walking with Jerome when the pictures were being taken.
  17. Hi! Life is moving way too fast for me at the moment so I have little time to read never mind post. My older son and his girlfriend are here from Oregon for Thanksgiving. Although I don't have a cooktop in my kitchen, the plumber and electrician made me a temporary sink, dishwasher and oven, My husband made temporary countertops, so it's almost like having a real kitchen. I ordered a turkey, so keeping my fingers crossed. We should be done remodeling sometime in December. wandacleo, I was so sorry to hear about your mom. jumpingjacks, here is hoping you get a good resolution to your health problems. karen Eh!, a belated birthday wish to you. :bday: Our WFI group started wrapping last weekend at the Charlotte Christmas show. I only put in 17 hours but met so many really nice people. The organizer of our group was there every day, a lot of time considering it is more than 1 1/2 hours from where we live. The show was huge. I only saw 1/3 of it. One woman in a wheelchair loved Clay so much she emptied her wallet into the donation box. A woman from Ireland, who worked with special needs kids there and was only in this country for this show selling her linens and embroidery, went around to various booths asking for donations of merchandise. All in all very heartwarming. Here's hoping we all have a stress free Thanksgiving.
  18. I didn't even hear anything about that. I don't have room for it anyway, with the kitchen remodel at the halfway point I'm living in plastic box hell. Those two snippets of video today were absolute gems. He sounded great then but today, whoa Nellie! I've said it before but the clack from the skating show does not do his voice justice. One of my favorite Clay songs WAYDNYE was so amazing. So as good as the videos were for historical purposes I really prefer current day Clay. I meant to thank you guys for being so nice to me in Las Vegas. Luckiest 1 and daughter for letting me tag along to Hoover Dam. It was fun and you both are so sweet. To gibby for arranging the really nice breakfast and letting me accompany her on the coaster. It was so nice meeting you. Couch tomato, liney, wandacleo and AAIT and all of those whose screen names I forgot it was a real pleasure speaking with you. I can't believe we have another tour coming up already. What a great year it's been. :laola0:
  19. Las Vegas was such a great time. I enjoyed meeting so many of you at the breakfast and after the show. I loved, loved, loved the show. I thought Clay's voice was fantastic and so much better than the clack. I really like DSIAFCD and didn't notice any glitches, just proves he doesn't lip synch. The skaters were very good and four of them had to do retakes at the end of the show. So if Clay is unhappy with his voice he can probably do a retake also. But I thought he was great. My favourite part was WW when Sasha was skating and Clay, who couldn't hear, was not singing. Cracked me up when Clay said, "let's give Sasha Cohen a hand." When he finally started singing it was fantastic.
  20. Play here - Oh bummer, I thought I saw Couchie, but decided it couldn't be her because she should still be at the airport. Oh well, will look for her here now.
  21. Now this is Fear and there is visual proof of what we did in Las Vegas. Gibby and Luckiest have the proof, so I can't do it now. I will try to upload a few Vegas pictures if I can. If this place is not Clay City, I don't know what it is. Every where you turn is a Clay fan. I guess we will find out if he is still cute tonight. As far as I know there have been no further Clay sightings since the Grand Canyon. And that was just a Clay hearing. My husband is trying to handle the stressfullness of our kitchen remodel. Thank goodness the contractor knows what he is doing.
  22. To all of those crying becuase they are not here - you too, could have come to LV if you were willing to put your future income in debt and drop everything you were doing (kitchen remodeling), board out your dog that had been recently hit by a car and ignore doctors orders. There were tickets available, not so much now, though. Looks like it is almost a sell out. ETA: note this is a mock of myself. I did not need to come here, but I did.I needto face the consequences of my irresponsibility when I come home. It is a great gig for Clay and we should be celebrating. I admit I am spoiled, I always admit it openly. Clay likes performing near me, but I got to travel and meet some great people this year for the first time really, usually, I just visit my sister for other concerts. I know my life has been blessed outside of Clay's tour (despite the fact that I whine endlessly about my pains and aches to all that listen). Even with all that (and the fact that I went to Sedaka last week), I feel this should be a time for celebration. There will be stories this evening, there are cellcerts going on, so much Clay in so little time. I thinkthis is such an exciting time in Clay fandom, many people get to go to at least one event, be it Vegas or a Christmas concert (a few of us go to a few more), and a small sad contingent does not have any opportunity. Still, it is time for celebration. Now for my little unpopular opinion. I know video will be taken tonight, I hope it is not vaulted until after the show is shown. A few clips, and photos are fine, but I hate it when the entire show leaks first. Did I mention we saw them videoing either an intro to the show or an ad where 4 of the skaters were standing under the Clay poster showing their room keys and walking slowly. We were late to our bad show, so we could not stand and watch and had to move on, but it is cool being here. Great FCA breakfast this morning, met so many people I knew, or got to know. Many people don't look like they post, hee. Met someone who was nice to me in Houston but does not post much onthis board - all in all a great breakfast. Well back to packing for home and then a little pool time. Opps, this is not fear, but Play being so obnoxious.
  23. Goooooooooooooooooooood Morning, FCA. Just geting dressed to meet everyone down stairs - which means changing foot casts, heh. I would emoticon, but it is hard on someone else's computer with odd buttons and no tabbing in the browser, etc. Well, so far, 50 cents ahead in the casinos, where we sit waiting for busses. I like the phrase about Clay being cuter than a 5th grader sniff, too bad we don't have a pin for that, heh. Ok, OK, will get dressed so I am not late for breakfast! Play
  24. well, if you putr up the pin before Wednesday night, save few for me, I probab ly won't be on again untit then., Fear was doing her good fan act watching the arena outside the woindow where I have unfortunatley kept her a prisoner much too long. She noticed a number of cars and a limo outside the arena about 2 PM, but then we left. I am sure that no fans were aware since the building did not seem surrounded by stalkers.
  25. HI, 'Play" here. My sister won't let me log her out andshe does not have another browser, so If you PM me, it has to be through her, until Wednesday, when I will be back home. I am looking forward to the party time tomorrow. Weather is great and we are leaving for what ever. Funny thing, the doctor (who did not talk to me for 15 minutes as she claimed, told me that I had a broken foot. The letter from the hospital saiys I have a broken ankle. Whatever, It hurts, but we deal - I have no intention of coming back to Vegas again, so I need to get out and see things. Fear, AKA Lakelady of CV, is threatening to wear high heels so she can comiserate the pain. Slowly but surely we are meeting people with Clay shirts on, mostly fromthe Clayboard or cv. Why didn't Merrieee come? We need you here girl! Not a good excuse at all. PS we are pissing off the penny gemblers, when we win, they have to come over and show us how to colect things....
