As playbiller said a while ago, Clay made it perfectly clear to us (the Wednesday night group) that he prefers noise to silence. He sort of chastised us for being too quiet during the performance, when he came out to sign autographs. Here are a few shots, as usual not too good.

Just a quick post. This was the first and probably last time I'll see Spamalot. Glad I got to see it. It was so much fun. Mr. Fear enjoyed it too and said Clay was very good. Being an ensemble, I was so glad to see that Clay fit in with the others and wonderfully expressed his character. I counted on play to tell me what changed from other performances as this seems to make people go many times. I went in cold, never watched any videos or listened to any songs. I still understood what was going on and got most of the jokes. It's just more fun to be surprised. We waited to see Clay and the others after the show. He seemed in a really good mood and laughed quite a bit. I was a little concerned about falling asleep as I did at a Capital Steps performance in DC on Saturday night and at the Baltimore Aquarium on Monday while leaning against a railing. So before the show tonight I had a huge cup of coffee. I may never sleep again. Thanks for all your good wishes this afternoon. They worked. Loved the show. Loved Sir Robin.

We, my husband and I, arrived at playbillers after 11:00 last night after spending a few days with the SIL from Hell! I'm so thankful that it will satisfy her for a few months. My husband and play are taking a nap before taking off for Spamalot as a result of a large and delicious Japanese buffet we went to at noon. Loved Clay's look on the View and wasn't he so in control. I can actually see him being a talk show host. He really took control and seemed to leave them speechless. I know we will always disagree on his best look. But having raised two sons ,one of whom I was never sure what color or style his hair would be day to day, I guess I can just go with the flow. Well here's hoping for another great show tonight.

Just got back from dinner and heard from playbiller. She is sitting in the balcony (cheap seats) and said the balcony was full. She'll be in a better seat on Tuesday when we go with my husband. EEP, still haven't packed. I heard a lot of screams when the lights went down. I just hope Clay doesn't get confused and does the Jeffersons dance by mistake.

Thanks, I have to buy catfood as I'm leaving tomorrow to make my way to the great North or what is now called Spamalot. I'm sure my husband will be singing the Galaxy song all the way up there. It's his new favorite. I did remember to buy the wine today so he's taken care of. Baled out of the tax meeting early so i could catch up on the boards. I suppose I'll have to pack next. I can't remember when there was this much excitement in the Clay Nation. Maybe the announcement of the IT tour or Clay's surprise appearance on AI5. :party038:

Clay is so comfortable in front of a camera. If he weren't such a nice guy , he could easily be an entertainment reporter. I have no doubt that he will have his talk show some day. He seems so excited in the ET video. Have we ever seen Clay appear on tv when he wasn't happy? One of my favorite things about him. I love his Sir Robin photos. He looks so mature and professional in them. And IMO quite handsome. The photographer did a great job. I have no doubt that he feels like Sir Robin. I love the stare into space in the chicken photo, looks very Shakespearean to me.

Sorry, I didn't mean anything about the source but they did have a nice blurb about him, which kind of shocked me. I'm interested in the music business, good and bad. Clay and his management ( I'm guessing) have done a fantastic job of image control recently. And the Spamalot people are doing great job with the publicity as well. I'm a happy fan.

By giving this to page 6, do you think they are trying to make nice with them? It's been one of the nastiest sites to him. Plus they're taking payola from some of their clientel was a little gross. . Just wondering. Although I don't particularly like dealing with those kind of folk (CHA) I guess it's a way to do business nowadays. WOW, he looks so handsome! Especially the chicken shot.

One of the reasons I don't post very much anywhere is my inclination to defend anyone who is being brow beaten. I have defended Presidents that I haven't voted for because of the ganging up tactics. I don't send out emails to writers of unfair articles or bloggers, but I do try to stick up for Clay when he is ,IMO, being unjustly criticized. An example of this is name calling. Playbiller can tell you that this just pushes my buttons. My one exception is calling liars- liars. My biggest complaint in the world as it is, is the total lack of thinking for oneself. This is what has amazed me in this fandom. Certain seld-appomnted leaders telling others what to think. The whole RCA fiasco was a prime example of this. I was edited whenever I posted that I didn't believe what they said had occurred. I questioned why certain poster could express their points of view and why others including myself could not. For some reason my posts were always talking about the boards or insulting the poster. I decided it's much easier to lurk.

We finally got our plans in order and Mr. Fear, playbiller and I will be going on January 22. Sounds like we will be the only fans there. Since this will be the only show I see, we opted out of the discount tickets which were not so good. I wanted to sit in the front row mezzanine so I could clearly see those dancin feet. :00000442:

I loved those blogs. She seems to tell it like it is, no preconceived ideas or biases. I hope she goes very far in journalism. It's got to be tough.

Hey playbiller, I did the same thing with a mouse this morning. Our cats seem to think mice are for playing and not for eating. We finally caught it with a wastebasket and put it outside. This is such a Clay day. Who would a thought? He could do such a comic routine talking about learning to dance and wearing chain mail. Love the reports from the golf course. I actually played in a golf league for a few years when I was at home with my sons. One year I even won the longest tee shot. Unfortunately my short game was not so hot. Since I haven't played for a few years, I would be so embarrassed. I've got to give that woman credit for playing with some more experienced golfers. They can be pretty cutting when you make a really bad shot. My husband was the college golf team captain and he taught me the game. It was a good excuse for following him around and watching his tee shots from the rear.

Love the pins cindylou and thanks for making them available couchie. Our plans for seeing Spamalot are falling into place for the end of this month. The price I will pay is to spend a few days in DC with my SIL and her husband. She just drives me a little nuts. Then up to spend time with playbiller, which means going to Spamalot. I hope my husband likes the show. I know he likes Monty Python. He was singing The Universe song to me yesterday, so I think it's a yes. :club0: I won't be joining anyone in the AI thread as I'm not the least bit interested in it. Haven't watched since AI2 and haven't heard most of the winners voices. I'll be doing taxes in Feb, March and April so I will be busy anyway. But I can understand getting involved, so have a great time. Really! :kotz0:

Bottlecap, I hear what you are saying, but I think some are not laughing at her but the circumstance which may have led to her arrest. There may or may not be a sad story behind her crime but the idea of wearing a Clay Aiken shirt while robbing a bank is just wildly funny to me. I consider it similar to a robber who may have left his/her wallet behind with id in it. JMO I think that as a group we sometimes need something to laugh about. After all the FC and CBM stuff, I know I needed a good laugh.

Not lacey but thin, about 3/8 of an inch thick. He didn't specify what type of grease either. He did say they fed it to the baby pigs and dogs until they discovered how good it was. He did say it could also be prepared on the stove top. He bakes it at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. How did I not know about this. I've wasted so many good eating years.

So sorry rcknrllmom, it's so difficult especially during the holidays. I have to apologize for ever saying anything negative about collards and black eyed peas. After my bad experience of eating collards, pinto beans and chicken pie at a senior center where I was volunteering last year, I had a good experience today. Mr. Fear and I were invited to eat at my neighbor's daughter's home today. She served pork roast, hoppin john, rutabagas, sweet potatoes and collards. Wow, I almost licked the plate clean. It's so very different when someone knows what they are doing in the kitchen. For dessert, her mom made a chocolate pear cake. Yummy! But the most amazing and unusual dish was the depression corn bread. Joe, our neighbor, makes this. It is corn meal, water and a little salt. He heats up a pan with a little grease in it and drops the liquidy concoction into it. He bakes it on both sides until crisp and brown. I ate three pieces. Back to Spamalot. When I think about Clay being stunt cast, I think about him coming on the stage on horseback and doing somersaults on the horses back. But then what do I know? :8:

Happy New Year FCA! Heres hoping that 2008 treats you all well. Heres to many more Clay concerts and wonderful year for Clay too! We are having dinner with some great neighbors tomorrow so I don't have to cook a thing. And for that I am greatful.

So sorry for your loss merrieeee. You are not alone. Playbiller and I lived just outside New York City growing up. I later moved to a borough of NYC and from there to the Jersey countryside. It was always easy to get into the city. When we moved to NC as a young couple with two little kids, it was such a culture shock. Even here with the Reynolds and Hanes families supporting the arts, you could not go to a restaurant and get a drink. As a result there were not a lot of restaurants. Also, I couldn't understand what people were saying to me, it was another language. Happy to say I am now proficient in the language. I know what britches and bedroom shoes and dests are. I have also made some of the best friends ever here.

Just to correct the record, my husband did surprise me a few Christmas' back with tickets to a pro ice show at the Greensboro colisium. Enjoyed it then but loved the "Holiday on Ice" show. As a kid my friends and I would go to ice rinks in our little blue corduroy skirts lined with red satin and matching red satin panties. Great memories. I was all set to go alone to LV when playbiller decided to come too. Unfortunately in the condition she was in, I don't think she had the bestest of times. We set closer to the middle of the rink so we didn't have the best view of Clay but were able to watch the skaters. I thought Clay's voice was outstanding there. And bad fan that I am I didn't see that his flap was still sewed up. Who knew what I would have thought had I known that. I didn't notice any problems with DSIAFCD and it appears the show promoters didn't either since they showed bits of it over and over on the tv show. I think he intentionally uses that gruff voice, just listen to RHW on ATDW. I can't believe I am using all those acronyms. I used to hate them. Hope you all have a great day. My husband wants to go furniture shopping so who am I to deny him that pleasure.

As the old song goes "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative. Don't go with Mr. in between." I know this doesn't work with everyone, but it sure makes my life easier. Getting older and trying to stay healthy is difficult enough without stressing out about how a singer hits certain notes. Or what type of song he elects to sing. Or how much he weighs. No one had better ask me that question. I absolutely believe in the power of positive thinking on one's well being. I am the consumer, he is the seller. If I like what he sells I buy it. It should be as simple as that to me. Except for the fact that I do support him in his humanitarian endeavors. I do support the BAF and UNICEF. I love his voice and would like him to continue performing. So I do what I think will acheive these goals and it is not by being his critic. I am loving all this publicity he is getting forUNICEF. I made my donation to his current challange. i hope everyone can give even just a little to help those flood victims in Mexico. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Merry Christmas to all! I hope you all had a great day! I'm pooped. Saw the Holiday on Ice Show but my tape cut off when they are skating around the arena. They did a very good job with the editing. Clay sang great. I especially enjoyed the interviews with Clay. He was shown as a man of many facets. I hope it had a lot of viewers. :xmas07a:

I'm finally home: clicking the heels of my red slippers. Theres no place like home, theres no place like home. Thanks to play for putting up with me and my fussiness once again. For instance needing oysterettes rather than crackers for soup. Also I always have an eating tragedy when visiting her. This summer I had a huge staple in my salad, which of course I didn't see until I started chewing it. This time I found a piece of glass in my pasta, once again not noticing it until it was in my mouth. All occurred while eating out. Thanks for the nice comments about my recap. Last night's concert was amazing. I told playbiller that prior to last night West Point was my favorite Christmas Concert. Now I'm looking forward to next years. About today's events: What! You've got to be kidding. Most unbelievable thing I have ever heard. I should always stay in my padded cell.
