  1. Wow. What a year. Thanks for keeping track ldyj. Luckiest I've been thinking about going to the US Skating championships. They'll be in Greensboro again this year. Hope you all have a Happy New Year.
  2. Have a great cruise merrieeee. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas and may the new year bring you more joy. Couchie, great news about your mom. I hope she continues to do well. January will not be my month so I'll just try to get through it. Hopefully we will get a second car(used), a dryer (ours died) and our granddaughter will continue to do well in school (we are officially) her tutors. This is my grown up Christmas list and would make life so much easier. I will also have 5 volunteer jobs to juggle as well as outpatient surgery. Otherwise life is good and dh and I are prettyhappy. I hope everyone has a great new year.
  3. Merrieeee, have a great trip. Ldyj, feel better. Jmh, feel better too. Couchie, glad your mother is doing better. To anyone else have a wonderful Christmas or any other holiday you celebrate. We had our granddaughter and granddog yesterday so today and tommorrow will be quiet days.
  4. Hey to jmh and soulsista4clay. I've been getting ready for taxes and will do a little WFI this coming week. Still can't walk very well after my surgery so I've been doing PT twice a week also. after not seeing my granddaughter for 8 years, we have become very close and we see her 5 days a week. Tomorrow night she will sing two solos at her singing recital . Looking forward to this. She is 12. But I still have time to listen to Clay and am looking forward to his next career move.
  5. Good for you merrieeee. Today is my husbands birthday an he was happy watching football while I shopped. Happy Birthday Clay. Hope to see a lot of you this year.
  6. Thanks for the lovely post. Curious as to Clay's next endeavor. I always thought politics would be his future and it may still be. Happy Thanksgiving to all celebrating. We will just be two this year but will enjoy the food and the quiet.
  7. Enjoyed your NJU story jmh. Whenever people give Clay a chance, he can Impress them.
  8. Nice ldyj. Wish I had been able to go. Looks like they had a great time. This is the real Clay, not what others imagine him to be.
  9. We are off to a voting site to put up signs for the party. I'm just going for support as I cant really get around too well. We cant go until 6 but I thought I'd get a cup of tea and take some pills. Wish I could be helping Clay but unable to drive yet. So I'll send him my best wishes. Sure wish I could be at his election party tonight. Might go to my friend Mary's party for a bit tonight, if its crowded We'll probably go home. Best , best wishes Clay. You gave it your all.
  10. Looking good on tv. Stressing his qualities of providing a voice for those without one. iscussed why he is running. Answered a question on the affordable Care Act. Doing good.
  11. Hi. Just wanted to thank all of your link's and pictures. Missed the call yesterday because of PT. The nurses, who were really great, snuck me out of the hospital early, because my husband and son had to pick up my granddaughter at school. Sent in my last donation, I think, before I went into hospital. I may not post much as I'm still drowsy and can only sit for short periods of time. Have a wonderful weekend.
  12. I'll miss hearing Clay on my radio. Finally I'm going in for hip replacement surgery on Tuesday morning. Looking forward to getting it over with. My son from Oregon will be coming to NC t help us. I'll also cheer me up see him. Mr. Fear and I both sent in our absentee ballots. I'm going to try and make some calls for my friend running for NC legislature during my recuperation. Maybe even Clay.
  13. Go NC. Or at least for as long as the next ridiculous challenge. I hope this is the nail in the coffin of Tillis's senate campaign.
  14. He is getting some amazing publicity. The New York Times and now Rolling Stone. He still has that magic something that fascinates people. And we should know. Ha!
  15. I am so sorry to hear about Carolina Clay. I had lunch with her and others in Greensboro several years back. She was friends with Scarlett. She was a classical musician who loved Clay's voice. I knew she had a lot of medical problems.
  16. Nice banner ! Thanks for pictures and video. Lost my email for several days.
  17. The reception Friday night was fun and informative. Question and answer session with Diane, Clay and Zac, a board member. Jerry Aiken made a little speech but Aron Hall was the emcee for the evening. We had wine and horsd'oeuvres :3 kinds of spring rolls, fruit and cheese, mozzarella and basil tomato sliders. They were filming the entire event so we had to sign releases after the photos. I limped up to Clay and Diane for the photo. Diane put her hand out as did Clay and they both said good to see you again. Jerome told me he loved my necklace and I said it was cheap. He said, "see everything beautiful does not have to be expensive. I did get a lot of compliments about it. They did the dinner auction and 2 people were bidding it up. Clay originally said because he was fat they would have lettuce. When the bids got higher he said they might have more to eat. One person won for 28000 and Clay asked the other if they would take the same deal for another dinner. She agreed to this. Then Clay said they had one more thing. He introduced Tucker Middleton who was carrying a box. She opened it and took the infamous green plaid shirt. It was bought for 2800 or so. Not sure. It was a lot of fun.
  18. Happy Birthday ldyj!!! Have a wonderful day! Thanks for all you do around here.
  19. List of people who post here who said they were attending the Gala. I'll add you merrieeee. http://findingclayaiken.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=798
  20. How long would it take me to drive to Kansas? Getting it to Cary would be the easy part. Team Clay is certainly creative in solving problems.
  21. Yeah for Clay. As the child of a union executive, this picture warms my heart. On a personal note, I set my surgery for 10/14 so I'll be ready to WFI again and take my tax classes in early December. Wahoo for being pain free soon.
