  1. Love Clay's story. Makes me happy that I just mailed another check to his campaign. Wish I could do the max but I'll give what I can. Luckiest, maybe some of us who have too much stuff can sendit up to Canada in exchange for a donation to the NIP, if we are lucky. Would have nothing to do with Clay's campaign.
  2. Probably not a good idea to post it here. According to my sister it has already been picked up at a "site" and mocked. I never got the email or I would forward I to you. You can find it on CV maybe in the index thread or the focus thread. Even the CH moved it to the den. Running for Congress is a whole different scenario than being a celebrity. People are lined up to find anything they can use to diminish Clay. Whenever I see you again, I'll be happy to talk about things I have left out of my recaps. I'll probably never get to a fundraiser dinner but I keep my ears open at the other things I go to.
  3. Hi merrieeee! I hope you are doing well. Saved that picture of Clay with the baby.
  4. http://findingclayai...p?showtopic=798 As far as I know, these are the people attending the Gala from our group who posts here. Looking forward to the whole weekend including Clay singing with a band.
  5. So very sorry about your husband merrieeee. But don't forget to take time for yourself now. Good thoughts for you, your daughter and the rest of his family.
  6. We had a very nice time. Steve and Dale , the owners of this lovely and rustic home, were very gracious and wonderful supporters of Clay. They, however, are not in district 2. The home was in a woodsy setting with no grass but a gorgeous pool in the back. Clay came in a little later than 3:30 because he had a meeting before this event. During his speech, Clay said he had on a suit this morning and had to change for the BBQ. He was told to wear shorts, but he said he was glad he didn't because no one else wore shorts. Clay gave the stump speech that he usually does giving his background and why he is qualified to be in the House. He added several asides which got a lot of laughs. He posed for quite a few selfies. Nick is going to handle fund raising for Clay. I also talked to a very nice young woman, Ebony, who is Clay's new scheduler. She made sure that Clay came over to say Hi to us.I took the opportunity to tell him that 2 years ago at a M&G, I had asked when he was going to run for office in NC. I didn't ask for a selfie as my camera card was full and my phone was discharging. The event photographer had a few for me. I didn't see Clay eat or drink anything. Clay left shortly after 5, saying he had another meeting to attend and his entourage followed. Tried to take video of Clay's speech but after a minute my card was full. Tried photos but the sunlight was blinding. I have a couple on photobucket but can't seem to bring them here. Cotton's pictures should be so much better.
  7. Nice pics. I've received a couple of offers to subscribe to the theatre in Raleigh. Its just too far to drive unless Clay is in the productions. Pathetic. merrieeee, continued good thoughts to you and your DH.
  8. So sorry merrieeee. I hope your husband is comfortable and able to enjoy his visitors.
  9. Sunday, June 1 there is a BBQ in support of Clay in Cary. Three of us are going. I wish you could all be there.
  10. Hi merriee. Hope things are going well. We had an impromptu neighborhood bbq with fourteen of us. One neighbor called us at 2:00 and by 5:00 we were grilling and chilling. I made potato salad and a corn, spinach and tomato salad. Nice to catch up with everyone. Great picture of Clay.
  11. Thanks ldyj . Figures he'd be in Siler City today while we were at the UNC Hospitals near Chapel Hill. Ate at a great restaurant, The Weathervane. It makes the long trip worth it. Hope it was something simple like allergies for Clay. Love watching his campaign.
  12. Nice pics. I love Clay looking more natural. I could have been there if it weren't for Mr. Fear's dental appointment. We downsized to one car so any trips take a lot of planning. Sending more good thoughts to merrieee and her husband.
  13. Great job. Clay fought to finish his answers even though Brook wanted sound bites.
  14. Good thoughts to your husband and you, merrieeee. I can understand his wanting to go home. Will miss you at the Gala, luckiest and anyone else who won't make it. . I'm hoping for a really good turnout this year and that Clay is doing well in the polls by then. I miss his excitement when he thought he had won CA.
  15. They are looking for volunteers at the Clay campaign on Wednesday 1:30 to 3:30. I can't make it but I hope some of you who live nearby can. Someone from our tax volunteer program is coming to collect all our computers on Wednesday and also is interested in our community of homes, so I'll have to show him around. Phooey !
  16. I did laugh at that video. Don't miss the Godzilla joke at the end of it too!
  17. Here's hoping that by Monday Clay will be able to resume his campaign. He has shown his respect by shutting down his website during a time when many might have been seeking information about him and, perhaps, donating. I hope the Crisco family will at some point be able to support Clay. I think that would end the book on a very successful career for Mr Crisco. JMO
  18. Sorry merrieeee. It does get old waiting in a hospital room. I hope things are getting better. Saw some video on the news f Crisco's funeral, but the camera was outside and I was raining.
  19. Just saw on the crawl of our TWC, "Friends, politicians and family say farewell to Keith Crisco". Good thoughts to his family.
