  1. They do not compute for me either. Not only do I think that it is not a flattering look, it looks downright silly to me. Still, is anyone else wondering how Clay would look in the outfit Reed is wearing? Or am I the only one? Should I duck the tomatoes? If the tutu was short enough, we would probably get a good view of Waldo! Canfly, I also wonder what Clay thinks of Reed's outfit.
  2. I totally understand what you are saying. These so called fans look like they were waiting for a PC reason to "not like" Clay anymore. I also cannot understand the ones that say they are only sticking around because of the friends that they have made in the fandom. If they had made real friends, leaving or staying would not make any difference in the friendship. These people need to get a life and move on IMO!
  3. Yay! Back at ya! Way to go Mr. President!
  4. You are a great moderator. You have a lot of patience. Freedom of speech is certainly evident here. Thanks for the way you run this board.
  5. Interesting. It appears that Gene Simmons does not see Adam as a rock star. Gene.. You rocked tonight on American Idol. Like always. U R a rock god!!!!! If you cant can you hook Adam Lambert up with someone to get him started on the way to be another rock god like you. My opinion is: Adam should of won American idol hands down. He is amazing. I have bought everything there is to buy of him on I tunes and I voted hundreds of times for him on Tuesday nights. actually sat here and voted and voted for hours for him. Hope you actually get this and can send Adam somewhere he can start his rock n roll career . Take care and big ass hugs to you, Jodie Response from Gene: Respectfully, I don't think Adam is a rock singer. He sounds much more convincing singing ballads, and Broadway shows. His voice doesn't seem to have a "rock quality." But, I'm sure he's going to do just fine. http://www.genesimmons.com/fanstories/
  6. Merrieeee, I totally agree with you. I went back and re-read the blog because of all the discussion, and came to the same conclusion that you did. I "got" what he was saying! I hope more of his fans go back and reread his blog.
  7. That is what I think also. Adam and Clay are completely different people in most respects, different voices, styles of performing, dressing, totally different genre of music. The only thing they have in common is that Clay is gay and Adam is perceived to be gay. They even appear to have different lifestyles. There is gay and there is gay. Not all gay people are the same just as not all heterosexual people are the same. It is insulting to Clay and Adam to expect them to like each others performing style just because they are both "gay." Maybe Adam is not supportive of Clay's voice, performance, or choice of material to sing. If I were Clay, I would resent that people would expect me to be supportive just because of the sexual orientation. I read Clay's blog and I do not see any animosity towards Adam. I mostly see how Clay feels Idol has strayed from what Clay believes was its original premise. Clay has been singing for most of his life, and he obviously knows what sounds good to him. True, he only listened to the worst Adam performance, but the style, flamboyance, and attitude was there nonetheless. Clay gave his honest opinion, and it should be accepted for what it is, Clay's opinion. He is entitled to that. Of course it helps that I watched Idol 8, and with the exception of a couple of Adam performances, I agree with Clay. Time will tell if Adam will be a big star. He was performing before Idol and was not a big star. Sometimes Idol is just a big hype! As far as being a true rock star, I liked Allison.
  8. Lotus, in last night's case Artquest gave up her better seat so that I could take clack. Upgrading comes in many ways, different every time and often with total strangers. There were people selling Row B tickets outside the venue (they were in the tiers but they seemed too low for the stage and possibly vulnerable for clack) For any Clay Aiken show, I consider a ticket as "getting my foot in the door"; my minimum requirement is to be in the house and to hear him sing -- but Clay Nation has always come through every single time. ETA: Getty link Thank you, Scarlett. What a beautiful job you did! Your are truly a Clack GODDESS!
  9. That was a really good news conference. It is so wonderful to have a president who is so articulate and well informed on everything that is going on right now, and not be completely in the dark as our past president was. I love that his popularity ratings are so high. Can you believe Arlan Specter switching over to the Democrats?
  10. About Clay appearing on Idol, Simon is so childish sometimes, I have recently gotten the impression that he reacts to contestants comments negatively. For example, he said that they would not consider saving Megan because she said she didn't care so they did not care either. Given that, I wonder if Clay saying on interviews, when he is asked about Idol, that he never watches it, has anything to do with him not being asked to appear on the show? Would Simon hold that against him? Clay always bring excitement to Idol when he appears. Maybe, that is why they don't want him, because he takes too much attention from the contestants? Whatever, I am so hoping that Idol will have him on this season. He is so more deserving than most of the guests that they have on there. I could not understand Kanye West appearing on the show. The man is a rapper. not a pop singer which Simon keeps saying they are looking for.
  11. I also love Sacrificial Love. I can't wait for Clay to sing it in concert. As to the four star movies, my GF and I have learned that the stars are strictly subjective, and a lot of the times, we don't really care for the four star movie. We just go by what we think we will like from the previews that we see when we go to the movies. The majority of the time, we do well that way even though sometimes we like different type of movies. It evens out. Sometimes, it is a movie she wants to see. Other times it is one I want to see. I really want to see "Sunshine Cleaning." Have any of you seen it?
  12. I love the movies. I have way too many favorites to even list. The worst movie I have ever seen is "The English Patient." It was so boring. I will never understand how it got so many accolades. I think at the time everyone I knew said they "loved" it because it was the thing to say. I think they were afraid to say that it was awful. I was so happy when Elaine on Seinfeld came right out and said that she hated that movie, and that it was awful. That was the first time that I had someone that agreed with me even though she was just a character on a TV show. I do like "Gone With The Wind." I especially liked when Rhett walked away from Scarlett, and she said, "I'll cry tomorrow." Strong woman, she had better things to do today! I loved that. I do not like violent movies, and when something really bad happens in a movie, like "The Changeling" for example, I feel bad and have to go home and watch Clack because it makes me feel better. It does not take long for Clay to have me laughing out loud. His smile and his laugh are infectious. I go to the movies every Thursday. Yes, my friend and I do sometimes watch a lot of lemons, but our attitude is "How do we know if we will like it or not if we do not go?" We do walk out if the movie is really bad.
  13. Hilarious! Reminds me of when I got my first desktop. It was a cheap Emachines which I thought I was getting free after a whole bunch of rebates. Of course the hook was that I had to subscribe to AOL for three years which actually meant that I was paying approximately $400 for my free Emachine. Live and Learn! I was scared to death of that thing. It kept freezing on me, and then I had no phone because it was using my phone line. There were times that I actually thought of hitting the dam thing with a hammer because I needed my phone. I would go over to next door neighbor and use their phone to call my son to come help me with computer. Then I would have to suffer through the same scolding of "when are you going to listen to me and stop downloading junk?" (Clack Junk? How dare he?) Whenever my neighbors went out of town for the weekend, they would bring their cordless phone over to my house so that I would have a phone in case I screwed up my PC. Their Uniden cordless stayed charged for over three days. One morning I called them from my bedroom phone to see if they were back and could not figure our why their phone was ringing in my house. I had just woken up. I was regreting getting my "free" PC. I thought, that should teach me a lesson to not get stuff just because it is "free." Sorry to say that I still do, it although not as often. Bad habits ARE hard to break. This went on for quite a while until someone told me "unplug your PC." How simple is that? Of course, I was afraid that I would break my PC doing that, but I got to the point that if it broke, I would be free at last. So I begin unplugging, and I unplugged a lot. That does fix a lot of stuff. With my laptop, I will take out the battery if it freezes on me. It has not happened yet, but I have learned that I can be brave and fight back when my electronics decide to take over. Take that! No power for you!
  14. KF Sorry that you and apparently your whole family are sick. Hope you feel better soon. I love Floyd's Cajun Seafood also. The Bar Trash appetizer is my favorite (Yummy cajun crabmeat). I do not eat mudbugs either, gross peeling them. I do like them fried or in etufee (spelling). Everything I have ever had there has been delicious. Scarlet, Its great that you are doing so well. Enjoy your dinner. ehp, I know that you all will have a great time if you join Scarlet and Solo. You are a fun group!
  15. I have been resisting renewing, but the two magic words got to me this time. HE BLOGGED plus I love 30 Rock. I am heading to renew. I am doing the cheapie this time. I can't wait to see what he does on 30 Rock. Congratulations Couchie, you did good. I think you would enjoy 30 Rock It is funny, timely, makes fun of issues (I don't know how they got away with the diabetes one that featured Tracy Morgan without getting a lot of flack) and is not corny like most comedies. It has an edge which I really enjoy. The only time I watched Scrubs was when Clay was on. Scrubs is too slapstick for me.
  16. I love 30 Rock. I never miss it. It is really well done comedy. Clay will fit in really well, if indeed, he is scheduled to be on it. This show gets a lot of accolades and awards, and a lot of big stars want to appear on it. It is hilarious. I think it is really great that they want Clay to be this show. I hope that this rumor is true because I would love to see Clay on it. He will make 30 Rock really rock! ( I am not biased in any way, just truthful )
  17. Someone emailed me this link to Ticketmaster to demand that Clay have concert in my area. Do not know if it will do any good, but I did it anyway. I was number 37 from Houston to demand that he come to Houston. I only recognized two of the screen names. Have any of the ehp demanded? If this was posted on FCA before, I must have missed it. : http://www.ticketmaster.com/Clay-Aik.....;/artist/894037
  18. Thanks for the pictures. I can never get over how Clay can look so different in different pictures. Of course he always looks completely gorgeous. Most celebrities always look the same in their pictures. I can not figure out how Clay can manage so many different looks and I am not just talking about the hair style or hair color. The facial features, even though they are the same, manage to look different to me. Beautiful man!
  19. I did not like the title of the Eonline, " Clay Aiken: Can Family Help Save His Music Career?" I doubt that David Foster would help Clay if he did not believe in Clay's talent. Somehow the article manages to convey that the only reason Foster will help Clay is because he considers him to be family. Has anyone seen an actual statement anywhere that RCA dropped him? Why is it so hard to believe that it could have really been a mutual decision? IMO, 2008 was the year that Clay really took full control of his life. He became a father and announced to the world that he was a gay father. He has a boyfriend. IMO Clay is redefining himself as an artist also. Until we hear from an official source that RCA let him go, I choose to believe that Clay's contract was up and RCA would not give him the terms that he wanted to renew, so they parted ways. IMO Clay is a lot wiser now that when he signed the original contract. He also has made good connections in the entertainment world. Even though he proved he could be a Broadway star, he has said that he misses singing. IMO his singing career is nowhere near needing saving. Foster will be lucky to get Clay, if that does happen.
  20. Best Oscar show I have seen in a long time. Liked everything about it. All the movies nominated were Oscar worthy IMO. Sometimes I do not feel that way and wonder why a movie was in in the running. IMO, I felt that Sean Penn definitely deserved to win. I loved the spirit of "Slumdog," but Milk had more of an impact on me. I felt it was an important movie. and I hope that a lot of people go to see it. I did enjoy "Slumdog," very much and it also touches on what happens to poor children in India. I asked my son-in-law who has gone to Mumbai many times if he had seen a lot of blind beggars. I hoped that he would say no. He said yes. Sad. But the spirit of the movie overcomes the sad parts. Beautiful movie!
  21. I really feel for Clay. I had TMJ last year for about a year. It is very painful. The pain increases gradually. At first I waited for it to go away, like I do for most everything. (I hate to go to the doctor.) Then it got to where I could not even open my mouth, close it or chew food because of the pain. It hurt all the way to my ear, and I was trying all kinds of home remedies for earache. When I finally admitted that it was not going away, I went to my doctor and told her that I thought I had "lock jaw" because I could not open my mouth without a lot of pain. She said I had TMJ not "lock jaw." I had never heard of TMJ. She sent me to my dentist who took all kinds of Xrays and asked me if I ground my teeth when sleeping. I don't know if I do or not! He fitted me for a mouth guard to wear while sleeping and told me that it would take a while for the pain to subside because the whole side of my face was very swollen. He told me not to eat anything that required a lot chewing, definitely no gum until the swelling subsided. I hated to wear the mouth guard. It felt and tasted like a piece of rubber in my mouth. Horrible! But it worked. As for all of those so called fans that are so ugly about everything that Clay does or does not do, maybe some TMJ would shut them the ---- up! IMO they have issues that probably have nothing to do with Clay! They should get a life and not depend on Clay for whatever is missing in their RL. JMO
  22. I have been a fan since 2003 and Idol 2, and I never knew that this online fandom even existed. I did own a computer, but was not familiar with message boards or the like. I did not find out about the online fandom until 2006 when I accidentally stumbled on the "Ideal Idol" site. I really regret that I did not know about it till then. I did go to see Clay every time that he came to Houston, which was two times, before he came for the SRHP tour. I did not know anything about the Christmas Concerts, never knew that they were happening. I followed Clay on TV every chance I got, and that was about it. Gbmifan. Sorry that your hubby lost his job and that you lost all of your benefits. It should not be legal for anyone who has worked for 38 years to loose his and his family's benefits. I just do not understand this!
  23. I like cheesy songs. They almost always can relate to my present mood in the moment. IMO Mac Arthur Park is one of the worst songs that I have ever heard. I went to see Milk with Sean Penn yesterday, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. I thought about Clay's coming out situation several times throughout the movie. I can remember the assassination of Milk, but did not know much about the man himself. It brought some distant memories when they showed the boycott of Coors beer, a boycott that I took part in as part of the women's movement in the 1970s. Our boycott was very effective and showed that we had clout. I hope that a lot of people see this movie as IMO it is very relevant and provides a lot of insight as to the struggle of homosexual people just to gain their rightful place in our society. Excellent and insightful movie.
  24. Smitten, It makes sense to me. I agree with everything you say. I have to add that I can't see Clay using those terms to describe himself or anyone else. Those terms take away from one's humanity IMO. Other than that the article was very good.
